I'm not holding brief for this catastrophic government, but you see this particular one? Northern powers are doing everything within their means to frustrate this government.

They've mopped up dollars everywhere in Abuja and are now refusing to resell to the open market so the scarcity will hit from the heightened demand and make the naira even more worthless.

These northerners are beasts. They frustrated Jonathan with insecurity, now they're crashing the economy on Tinubu just so they cause widespread chaos and truncate the government that's in the hands of the South. Jagaban wey feel like say him be king of politics go see shege for this life..😂.

Emi lokan in the mud!
The president been a master strategist as his supporters been calling him should have known better, but it seems he's just playing into the hands of these guys sef 🤔

nairalanda1:
Let's put aside politics. Even me myself, I no vote for APC, PDP, LP and NNPP so, forget.

In 2014, oil prices crashed. That meant that we started spending large sums of our reserve on keeping up the naira. At the same time we started borrowing to keep our heads above water. Started with PDP, continued with APC.

As at JUne 2023, 90% of our revenue were going to debt servicing...because oil prices had been so low (at one time below 20 dollars per barrel), that we had to take loans to survive. ANd the loans had to be paid back.

At the end of the day, anyone who took over, would have had to do something. And it is either we stopped spending money on subsidisng the naira, and partially removed subsides...or we kept on pretending that one naira was one dollar, and got more and more broker.

FUel subsidy costs were rising year in and year out....

I don't like APC, PDP , I wish we voted them out since , I have not voted for any big party since I cast my first vote in 2003, and yet, the truth is, with debt servicing at 90%, and with us nearly at the mercy of the IMF...what else would we do.

ANd the fact is, if government had diversified our earnings, we would have been able to mittigate these problems. But APC failed in that regard. Here we are.

I am not even sure that Tinubu wants to diversify the economy, plus he is still doing subsidy...which means waste of money self.

ANyway, I don talk my own. All I know is, if subsidy had gone in 1993, we would not have been here. If we had taken the National Development plans serious, especially the Third one which was to have commenced in 1980, we won't have been here. If we had had leaders who had been commited to making us a manufacturing nation, that exports manufactured goods, we won't have been here.

BUt most of us just want our side in power. Sigh.
You just dey shout we, we

How much I spend out of the money they borrowed, ordinary road I no even get to pass, light na me dey provide am myself, same for shelter and every other thing, so please take out that we and put the appropriate word😃

Make una dey calm down o
Just a single case and Nothing works efficiently in Nigeria even though the minister has visited her twice in as many weeks .
What exactly do you want?
Justice.
Then calm down and let the authorities come up with the result of their investigation. Or do you want the army to just punish it's officers on the words of a soldier alone without investigation?
The first thing to show you this case is out of the military s hands is the fact that they couldn't force her into a military medical facility......if they had suceeded with that .....shes gone for they will kill her or inject her with substances that will make her mad
So her case is the only one we've heard about the military shenanigans abi?

That was same way some people packaged subsidy as the problem of Nigeria, today we are facing more hardship than ever before.

If you care to know, irresponsible government officials constitue just an infinitésimal fraction of the problems to deal with along the way, not the 'only reason' for clamouring for restructuring as you believe. There is an urgent meed to take out major threats to our existence today and tomorrow, if I may briefly point it out to you. Is that clear?
You want to sit me down on top my opinion?

The law they operate on make them to be invisible sometime, okay look at the civil servant that work with them, have heard about a scene where a government want to do some bore hole in some community and the contractor that the governor knows was charging 400k per one which is still okay to some extent but when the document get to the desk of these civil servants they inflate the price to 2m per one ... and the government will be sideline when the actual money will be release
My point is if the people don't change, no system can change them

These guys will still bend the system to suit their laziness.

So let's maintain the status quo
That's my opinion, let's get more responsible with our actions

Imagine a situation whereby a governor visits a local government area once in his four year tenure, will restructuring make him more accessible?

And if yes how?

There are steps to take to get to our destination and we've got to take them one after the other.. Those shouting restructuring are not stupid because they know if you don't restructure, you can't solve other problems.

The position you've taken is informed by the current structure as dictated by the 1999 constitution. Unfortunately, you can't get the change you're mouthing within the structure created by that constitution imposed on the peoples. The law that guides your life makes you either a conquered slave or a free human who can contribute meaningfully to society, and it will never encourage your escape.

Do you even understand the import of that constitution at all? Because it baffles me that there are still people like you who want to sustain the present horror. Must Nigeria happen to you before you dust off yourself? Friend, please, wake up.
And where did I say the current structure should stay?

Read and understand you say na lie, even after I said that's my opinion

I know what I said and that's my opinion

The only reason we are talking about restructuring us because our government officials have refuse to be responsible, so will restructuring the country suddenly make them responsible?

So when you restructure, it suddenly takes out the hooliganism in our politics or the lavishness of our leaders

You will be surprised that these guys will just buy all the thugs in the state and you know what can do

The only reasonable thing is for us to act responsibly.

If we restructure with this crop of politician we have now it be easy for us to move enmass to any politician house and hold them responsible because the federal shield won't be there again

And this time around Wale will not say is because the president is Igbo or Hausa that's why every policy favor one ethnic to others.. if my region is not performing in the area of security I won't be saying is because Chibuzor is the Head of military in my region that's why is allowing such,

I will be able to hold my ethnic man responsible for any negativity in my region with no one calling me Bigot
You see that's where I'm going, is it until we restructure before we hold our governors responsible?

These guys get security votes to do nothing, they live large doing nothing,

My opinion though

Akwamkpuruamu:
So we should not restructure? Is it not easier to hold your Governor more responsible than the man in Aso rock?
Read carefully, our issue is we have too many lazy people venturing into power,

That's a bigger problem than restructuring, we have leaders who simply don't want to be accountable to no one

How does restructuring change that?

Why do I have the feeling that even if we restructure, with these same sets of politicians we still going nowhere

These guys just want to be feeding fat on the country's resources

Imagine that Lagos alone is doing fine than about 50% states in Nigeria, but all governors and political appointees are living large

If we can be prudent and bring in accountability perhaps we might not really need the restructuring

You should never have a business posting good and relevant news. Always make sure you're good and consistent at posting bad news or evil gossips about Celebrities, you'll thrive so much in it because that's what Nigerians Love to hear.

Good news don't excite them. Good luck
News site is not really lucrative like that, as it requires more work and it's life span is always shorter

The best bet are evergreen niches, that way your keep making money on most of your works
