Religion / Re: Kenyan Pastor With Mysterious Skin Disease Rejected By Parents (Graphic Pics) by Amicable24: 12:17pm On Jun 23, 2017
hopefulLandlord:
This pastor shouldn't suffer like this if Jesus words were true as reported in the Bible because Jesus said you would get anything you ask in his name; Jesus also repeated this many times over and over to show that he means it

below are such verses

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:21-22)

Jesus also reiterated it again

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20)

and again

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25)

and again

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

and again

(Matthew 17:20 For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.) then whatever you ask for in prayer will be granted, there are obviously only a few options available.

looking at the above verses and trying to square it with this pastor's predicament, one comes to 5 possible conclusions

1) the Bible is wrong, Jesus never said these things

2) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus was wrong

3) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus lied

4) this pastor prayed for alleviation of his suffering but had no faith

5) the Bible is just a collection of myths & fables & Yahweh, Satan, Jesus, Holy Spirit doesn't exist

take your pick

Since you know the Bible this much why not take out time to read about the story of the man called Job in the Bible?

Had plans with this "friend" to start selling makeup products in school.
Struggled and gave her 36K
few days later she told me the money was stolen,
was so down cause i remembered the stress of getting the money,
at the same time i consoled her.
Later found out from our mutual friend that the money wasn't stolen and infact she bought the products and was selling to students already,,
To say i was shocked is an understatement.
I was flabbergasted.
Confronted her and she blatant denied,
she later confessed after series of persuation and promised to return the money, but she never did.
Ooooops, too bad.

May God restore the money back to you in many folds, Amen

God is good. I was kidnapped today but free.

I missed my staffbus to the Island Lagos so decided to use a Danfo bus as early as 6:30. I entered one going to the Island not knowing they're kidnappers/thieves inside. On getting to Gbagada they pounced on me in the bus and attacked me, beating me. I thought they wanted to kidnap me and I kept shouting Jesus! JESUS! One held my neck and kept choking me. Another held my legs and they laid me flat. They took my phone and told me to unlock it. They took my wallet and asked if it was the only money I had. They took the 4000 inside and left N400 for me. They also took my iPad and return my phones. Then they told me to get up and silently they'd drop me. When we reached Forte oil Gbagada they told me to come out and they drove off........

I'm happy I'm alive and it wasn't a different story. I feel bad for my iPad because it has all the pictures I've been taking since 2 years including my Defense pictures, Convocation pictures, my pictures in Nysc camp, my pictures at the office and lots other but what can I Say. It's a small sacrifice. Once there is life and you have God, you have everything

Please everyone be careful when you enter buses. Always observe before entering anyone at all

Mods kindly move to front page so that people understand and learn

Thank God for you.. Many didn't survive same incidence..

As for your pictures and contacts, you can always get them back using Google Drive (that's if your Ipad has been automatically making use of that feature/app). My phone was recently stolen in Computer Village,
I thought all was lost but then I remembered my phone always backs up automatically each time I took a picture. I went to google drive using the email I used for the phone and to my surprise, I saw all my pictures and contacts right in front of me..

All the best to you bro...

Nairaland / General / Re: How To Check If Your National ID Card Is Ready For Collection In Nigeria by Amicable24: 4:44pm On May 18, 2017
RapportNaija:
The Nigerian Federal Government agency, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has a mandate to ensure all citizens of Nigeria possess a National identity (ID) card. There is an enrollment process in place where citizens of Nigeria can walk into any of NIMC centres to register for their National ID card. This National ID card is meant to identify citizens and to avoid illegal immigrants in the country.

What is a National ID card?

A national identity card is a portable document (which is a typically plasticized card with digital embedded information) that each resident or citizen of a country is issued and required to carry as a means of identification.

The NIMC has created an easy process for everyone who participated in the enrollment to check if their permanent plastic ID card is available. The way created to check for availability of National ID card for collection is a web portal.

Below are the requirements to check your card availability status:

1. Laptop or Smartphone (Android, iOS, Windows, etc.)
2. Internet connection (with enough internet data)
3. Full name (First and Last)
4. Last 6 digits of your ID number (remember, the number consist 11 digits and can be found on your Temporary ID card {paper printout}, 14673******)
5. Knowledge of internet usage

Now that we know the requirements, all we need to look at now is how to check your card availability status online. As soon as you finish this process, you will be notified if your National ID card is ready for collection.

Below are steps to check online:

Step 1: Visit this link --- https://touch.nimc.gov.ng

Step 2: Scroll down and click the button that says "Click to proceed" once.

Once you click that, you would be taken to a page where you will be required to fill your enrollment details into a form.

Step 3: The next thing to do is to fill in your details into the form. Correctly input your ‘First name’, ‘Last name’, and your ‘Last six National ID card number’.

Step 4: When you are done, click on the button at the end of the form, "CHECK NOW”, and your National ID card status will be displayed.

As you can see in the image, this card is not yet ready for collection, so that is how the notification message will be displayed.

While it is strongly advised that individuals should do their part in getting answers or show to have made effort to get answers to the questions they might have, i would also suggest that we should choose our words carefully when responding to a questioner.

Though I know that we are all unanimous here and only a few may know certain individuals or one another aside from their pseudonyms, It is essential that people are responded to with dignity and not made to feel that they are made into a laughing stock.

This is my candid opinion and I think everyone should take heed. Thanks.

Please answer the questions below correctly

1) Do you wish to travel to Australia as a permanent resident?
2) Are you financially okay to commence with the processing?

If your answers are positive, then continue:

3) How old are you.. [check the first page to know how many points you've got with your age]
4)Have you written any of the English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE and so on? [Please, write one of these and ensure you meet up with the required score, as stated in page one, so that you can earn at least 10 points]
5) How many years of work experience do you have? [Again check the first page to know how many points you have there]
6)What's your qualification? Like a Doctorate degree, B.Sc, Diploma, e.t.c [check the first page to know how many points you have there]

At this juncture, calculate your total points.. If it's up to 60 points, then you can begin with your application by sending an Expression of Interest and wait for an invite from them.. bla bla bla...

You can continue from there or ask oga bellong to help you out..

Yes, she can get a qualification in Education.

@Azy123,

If you are married, go ahead and do her passport in her married surname. You can do a paper publication of change of name and marriage certificate as evidence.

2. CO will surely request for evidence of marriage whether you use her maiden name or a change name. Marriage certificate is enough proof.

@Amicable.24,

If you read well, you would see that it is a must to write any of the tests for points. No way you can meet up easily with the minimum points without writing an English test except you have long years of experience and you are under 32.

In summary, find below the steps in applying...

1. Check if your occupation is on MLTSSL/STSOL or nominate a closely related occupation that you can prove. Also check the quota percentage to know if you still stand a chance. You can search for occupations and assessment info on www.anzscosearch.com & Dibp site.

2. Write English test (PTE, IELTS, Toefl) based on your preference and your skill assessment body requirement.

3. Check your assessment requirement from your assessing body and submit your application providing them with the necessary documents.

4. Calculate your points based on your situation.

5. Submit your EOI if you have up to 60 points and wait for invitation.

6. Lodge visa and make payment after invitation. Frontload medicals, PCC and form 80 may help fasten your processing.

NB

For some occupations like Doctors, Nurses,(Most medical and health related professions), Social workers, Lawyers and Psychologists, you will first need to be registered with the registration body of each profession before you can start Permanent resident visa processing. Some require that you write some exams before you are registered while some don't. Detailed information can be found on the body's website.
The second requirement you stated up there about the IELTS, TOEFL requirement.. Can one also use, let's say, a Nigerian primary, secondary or B.Sc certificate in English language as stated in http://www.border.gov.au/about/corporate/information/faqs/how-can-i-prove-i-have-functional-english the 7th to 11th point; or can you explain what is meant on the site
