Politics › Falana: "Arms From Libya Sold To Boko Haram" by aminulive(op): 8:02am On Dec 11, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Popular Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has revealed those responsible for supplying arms to dreaded terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

Falana revealed that the weapons being used by the terrorists were looted from an Armory in Libya. He said that the current crisis and slave trade going on in the country was a result of the killing and ousting of its former leader, Muammar Ghaddafi.

In a statement delivered in Lagos on Sunday titled: “Why Nigerian victims of slavery cannot sue Libya", Falana said;

"Today, not less than five armed gangs are laying claim to the leadership of the country.It has been confirmed that the arms and ammunition looted from the armoury in Libya were sold to the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

It is also true that the shameful slave trade which Nigeria is battling with is part of the fallout from the removal and brutal killing of President Muammar Gaddafi by armed gangs supported by the allied forces of imperialism led by the United States under President Barrack Obama."

Politics › PDP Chairmanship: Don't Blame Wike Or Secondus - Okupe Tells Bode George, Others by aminulive(op): 10:28am On Dec 09, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Ex-presidential aide, Doyin Okupe has written a lengthy piece on the recent Chairmanship Tussle going on in the PDP among Candidates from the South-west.

Okupe urged aggrieved parties like Chief Olabode George, who pulled out of the race on Friday, not to blame Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, who is backing a candidate from the south-south, Uche Secondus.

Okupe, in an article titled 'Yoruba and National politics', stated that the South-west candidates could have agreed among themselves to bring out a consensus candidate in order to achieve their goal but did not. He wrote;

I read about the withdrawal of chief Bode George from the PDP chairmanship race and i was greatly saddened.

Right from the time of the late sage chief obafemi awolowo till date, the Yoruba race have never truly gotten it right politically at the National level.

The only success we ever recorded politically at the Federal level was the victory of obasanjo at the Presidential polls in 1999.
Ironically it did not have the input of the Yoruba in it, and vintage Yoruba's poor political judgement, the offer of this unprecedented national "gift" (concession) following the unjustifiable denial of MKO Abiola's mandate and unfortunate death was randomly rejected throughout the Yoruba nation.

Throughout history Yorubas are only able to view national politics from only their own perspective always expecting the other nationalities to appreciate their innate and exemplary qualities and accept same as basis for favouring them (Yoruba) in a competitive situation not withstanding the interests and desires of other nationalities.

Truly wether the Yorubas are deserving of the national chairmanship of the pdp is neither here or there.
What exactly is the use of the post of the national chairman when the presidential candidate will be elected a little after 6months. Once the Presidential candidate emerges, the national chairman becomes his senior special assistance fir political administrstion. whatever power he weilds is directly dependent on the grace and benevolence of the candidate and the president if he wins. (see oyegun for reference)

It is quite curious to me that the North has gotten the President and the east the vice president without any struggle or sweat and the Yorubas are killing themselves and begging for a post whose relevance is short lived and will require the goodwill and kindness of a soon to be elected presidential candidate to have any leverage on future political and government appointments .

So what is the logic behind putting some of our bests in a race with little or no benefit for the zone and one that we are obviously disadvantaged to run ab initio?

And if we can actually resign at the 11th hour why did we not seat down, at the early stages and agree for one person to go for it while all others step down and back him with our collective resolve and resources? if indeed this was not all a personal championship race for the candidates and not a struggle on behalf of or for the interest of the Yoruba in the pdp.

And if we really wanted to play politics, we could have approached the northwest zone and make a deal money, which none of the yoruba aspirants has, cannot buy.

the northwest is as desperate for the presidency as we are for the chairmanship. We present them with one candidate and agree to back them in the Presidential primaries which is currently being dominated by Atiku from the north east, presently.

Obviously " the fault is in us not in our stars".
We cannot blame or demonize Wike or Secundus or even criminalise the process because of our lack of the much needed political sagacity to achieve our set goal.
The lesson from history and all of this is that we Yorubas, as a foremost race in this country cannot achieve much politically relying on sentiments or goodwill of others. we need to be coldly calculative and strategic in the pursuits of our political goals and objectives.

Crime › National Union Of Banks Officials Arrested By Police by aminulive(op): 11:46pm On Dec 08, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Key officials of the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) were on Friday allegedly arrested by the Police in Lagos.

PoliticsNGR gathered from other officials of the union, who spoke on condition of anonymity, that some armed policemen stormed the National Secretariat of NUBIFIE and arrested three officials of the union.

The officials confirmed that the three union executives were allegedly arrested on the instruction of the Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige.

They gave the names of those arrested as the union’s president, Danjuma Musa, general secretary, Sheikh Mohammed and deputy general secretary, Okon Etim.

Mr Joe Ajaero, the president, United Labour Congress (ULC) also confirmed to NAN that the union officials were arrested without a warrant.

Ajaero said that the union leaders were taken to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi.

He, however, could not immediately explain why they were arrested.

It will be recalled that four months ago, Musa was arrested and taken to Abuja.

The Ministry of Labour had on Nov. 2 issued a statement announcing the dissolution of the newly-elected executive of the union.

The ministry also announced the constitution of a 15-man committee to manage the affairs of the union.

It, however, denied any involvement in the alleged arrest of the three union officials in Lagos by the police.

In a telephone interview with NAN in Abuja, the Special Assistant (Media), to the Minister, Mr Nwachukwu Obidewe, denied the allegation.

“It is not true and it is impossible. The minister never gave such an order, to the best of my knowledge,” he explained.

However, calls made to the cell phone of the Press Officer, FCID Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, DSP Ezra Challa, were unanswered.

Politics › Science And Technology Will Save $11 Billion For Nigeria - Minister Onu by aminulive(op): 7:11pm On Dec 08, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, the Minister of Science & Technology, says the Federal Government’s National Science, Technology and Innovation Roadmap will save the country about 11 billion dollars in five years.

Onu made the disclosure at the South West Sensitization Programme on National Science, Technology and Innovation Roadmap on Friday in Lagos.

The minister said that the road map would aid the country’s transition from a resource-based to a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy that would drive the country’s economic diversification process.

PoliticsNGR reports that the Federal Government in August approved the 13-year National Science, Technology and Innovation Road Map starting from 2017 to 2030.

Onu said that the roadmap would enhance the nation’s emerging post-crude oil economy, catalyze economic growth and boost competitiveness of the nation’s raw material endowment.

He said the road map would be incorporated into the system to provide jobs, create wealth and reduce poverty in the country.

“This is the Road Map of all Road Maps. Other road maps have the life span of 3-5 years, but this road map of 13 years would outlive this present government and would also outlive my stay as the minister.

“If China with over one billion population could do it, Nigeria will. Our problem is not the population but to correct the mistakes our fathers made.

“Our generation must do better than the previous generations. We have to make sure that we improve on the legacies of our fathers.

“We believe that there is no problem in the country that we cannot surmount,” he said.

Onu noted that science and technology, would be utilised to unlock the nation’s potential and drive the sustainable economic development plan of the current administration.

Prof Gloria Elemoh, Director-General, Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), said that the institute would continue to support the government’s agenda of using science, technology and innovation to drive economic growth.

She said that the institute and other parastatal agencies in the ministry would, through their activities, catalyze government’s economic diversification strategy in the wake of dwindling oil revenue.

Elemoh commended the government on its resolve of massive deployment of indigenous technologies as a strategy to deepen the country’s economic recovery and growth.

Crime › FRSC Reacts To Woman Beating Video, "The Woman Attacked Officer First' by aminulive(op): 7:00pm On Dec 08, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

The Federal road safety commission has reacted to a viral video showing one of its officials fighting with a woman in the Northern part of the country.

PoliticsNGR has obtained a statement signed by Bisi Kazeem, the Corps commander in charge of Public Enlightenment and it reads;

The attention of the Management of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been drawn to a trending video footage on social media, especially Facebook and WhatsApp which shows members of the FRSC patrol team engaging in a fight with a female driver and a passenger during a patrol duty along Jalingo-Wukari route in Taraba state.

In line with the existing policy of the Corps on fighting involving its personnel on patrol, the Corps Marshal ordered a preliminary investigation into the matter which revealed that the affected patrol team was from Taraba State Sector Command. That in the course of its patrol along the route, a female driver was sighted driving without wearing a seat belt, upon which she was stopped for consolidation of the offence by a member of the patrol team.

In the process, the offender flared up on the grounds that she was on seat belt; retorting and shouting on top of her voice with verbal insults on the arresting marshal who got provoked and retaliated verbally to the altercation.

In the ensuing arguments, the front seat passenger who was also identified as mother to the offending driver, not only prompted her to physically attack the arresting marshal using her shoe but joined in the attack, while the marshal fought back, though not in our character as an organisation that is very civil and disciplined

Members of the public are hereby informed that in view of the standing policy of the FRSC on issues of indiscipline among its personnel and vehemence with which the Corps Marshal holds issues of fighting involving its personnel on patrol duties, he has ordered full investigation into the matter to determine the background, the cause and culprits of the unfortunate incident.

In addition, the Corps Marshal has directed that the affected personnel appear before the Federal Road Safety Corps Disciplinary Panel at Zone 3 Headquarters Yola, Adamawa state to face charges of fighting and conduct unbecoming of Officers and gentlemen of the Corps.

FRSC Management regrets the embarrassment caused by the ugly incident to members of the public and strategic stakeholders of the Corps whose supports have led to the high-level disciplinary standards the Corps has been known for over the years.

Politics › Dasukigate: Court Adjourns Case Against Ex-gov Bafarawa's Son(photo) by aminulive(op): 12:49pm On Dec 07, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 adjourned further hearing in the criminal charge of diverting $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms, involving former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, his son, Sagir Attahiru and their company, Dalhatu Investment Limited to February 15, 2018.

The defendants had sought to be tried separately from former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), who was joined as co-defendant in the suit, to ensure speedy trial. But, the application was refused by Justice Baba-Yusuf on October 19, 2017.

Dissatisfied, the defendants’ legal team led by Kayode Olatoke, SAN, proceeded to the Court of Appeal urging it to order the trial court to separate the case.

Olatoke argued that “the applicants’ trial if separated from Dasuki’s would guarantee their constitutional rights to a speedy trial within reasonable time in line with Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution”.

In response, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, through its counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, maintained its objection to the application.

According to Jacobs, “Bafarawa, his son and their family company, Dalhatu Investment Limited, were properly joined with Dasuki, Bashiru Yuguda and Shuaibu Salisu for their roles in the diversion of $2.1billion arms funds”

He stated that Dalhatu investment owned by Bafarawa and his son was the receiver of the alleged stolen funds.
The application also failed at the appellate court.

Still not satisfied, the defendants, at the Supreme Court obtained an order to stay the proceedings while still seeking to separate the trial.

At the resumed sitting today, Jacobs drew the attention of the trial judge to the effect that, “the supreme court had withdrawn the application for stay of proceeding and has compelled the trial court to adjourn till when judgment which was reserved for February 2, 2018, is delivered”.

Consequently, the matter was adjourned.

Politics › BREAKING: Appeal Court Dismisses Suit Seeking Tambuwal's Removal by aminulive(op): 1:43pm On Nov 30, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal by an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Senator Umar Dahiru, challenging the election of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as the Governor of Sokoto State.

In a ruling read by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, the court also awarded a cost of N100,000 against the appellants.

Dahiru had filed the appeal challenging the ruling of a Federal High Court in Abuja which in June dismissed his suit and that of another APC governorship aspirant, Aliyu Abubakar Sanyinna, on the ground that they could not prove the allegations of irregularities in the primary election conducted on December 40 2014.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole had ruled that even if the applicants had succeeded in proving that there were irregularities in the December 4, 2014 primary, the court could not grant the reliefs because it was not an election petitions tribunal and therefore lacked jurisdiction.

Counsel to the appellants Chief Roland Otaru SAN, while making his final submissions few weeks ago asked the Appeal Court to remove governor Tambuwal on the ground that he was not lawfully and validly elected as the APC gubernatorial candidate for the 2015 governorship elections.

He submitted that the APC constitution, primary election guidelines and the Electoral Act were grossly violated during the conduct of the December 2014 primary election.

The Senior Counsel argued that the disregard for the observance of due process got to the climax with the swapping of the delegate’s list by the governor to circumvent the rules provided for the conduct of the primary by the National Secretariat of the APC.

He then urged the appellate court to set aside the judgment of Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court which on June 22, 2017 upheld the primary election.

Otaru claimed that the Judge erred in law and engaged in mis-carriage of justice by going out of the counter claims of the respondents to arrive at his conclusion.

Specifically, the senior lawyer canvassed that the principal appellant, Senator Umaru Dahiru be declared the candidate of the APC in the 2015 governorship election.

However, the APC represented by Jibrin Okutepa SAN canvassed that the suit be dismissed for being vexatious and lacking in merit.

He submitted that the appellants were inconsistent in their pleadings having allegedly claimed that there was no primary election conducted and in another averment established that not all the authentic delegates were accredited for the primary election.

Besides, Okutepa claimed that the appellants changed the character of their case when in the originating summon they canvassed cancellation of the primary election for a fresh one but came back to seek that they be declared the winner of the same faulted primary poll.

“From the totality of the case of the appellants and from the list they submitted on their own, they admitted that 1620 delegates from the 23 local government areas of the state were accredited and in their inconsistent claim, came out to allege again that delegates were not accredited as required by law”.

“In the face of this glaring inconsistence, the case of the plaintiffs is liable to be dismissed, and I urge this court to do so and uphold the findings of the High Court on the issue” he said.

Counsel to Tambuwal, Ibrahim Sunday Ameh SAN canvassed the dismissal of the suit for lacking in merit.

Ameh claimed that the fulcrum of the case of the appellants was non accreditation of delegates adding that they did not establish their allegation as required by law in court.

In a ruling which lasted for more than two hours, Justice Agim held that on the contentious claims by the appellants that accreditation of voters did not take place on the day of the primary election, making wild allegations will not stand the test of evidence if it is not backed by enough proof.

He said the appellants made contradictory claims in the affidavits filed at the trial court having allegedly claimed that there was no primary election conducted and in another averment established that not all the authentic delegates were accredited for the primary election.

He said for the case to stand the test of proof, it must be consistent with consistent evidence.

On the grounds of appeal that accused the trial court of engaging in judicial rascality, Justice Agim held that the trial court did a diligent job and its ruling was consistent with the provisions of the Electoral Act, the APC guidelines for elections, and the Nigerian Constitution.

The Judge therefore dismissed the appeal for lack of merit.

Politics › Rabiu Kwankwaso tells supporters to decamp to PDP in Kano by aminulive(op): 9:27am On Nov 30, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has reportedly told his supporters to Dump the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

PoliticsNGR gathered that his nephew, Musa Kwakwaso who is also the commissioner for duties in Kano, revealed that the senator asked his supporters to make the move ahead of the upcoming local council elections.

Musa, while reacting to reports of pressure being mounted on Sen. Kwankwaso to rejoin the PDP, told journalists on Wednesday;

"Already, he has given the go-ahead to his supporters to join the PDP in Kano State so that they can contest in the forthcoming local government election in the state. But what I can assure him is that the APC will win all the 44 local governments because of the growing supporters’ base of Governor Ganduje.

It was because of Kwankwaso that the chairman of the PDP was thrown out of office because they wanted to hand over the party structures to him ahead of his defection.

They want to use red caps to cause confusion during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit next month. We will not allow that because Kano people are for Buhari all the time

I think we should think positive. We are taking the negative side now. It is just like me asking you: ‘If your employers do this or that, would you leave your place of work?".

Politics › Why Buhari Will Not Meet With Maina - Itse Sagay by aminulive(op): 8:51am On Nov 30, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Chairman of the Presidential advisory committee Against Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay has revealed why President Muhammadu Buhari would not meet with ex-pensions reform boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Sagay said that Maina's request was 'Ridiculous'. He told Vanguard that Maina's request was insulting to the country and advised him to submit himself to security agencies.

"The whole matter does not justify such ridiculous request.His request to meet with the President is out of the question. If every suspect has a whistle to blow and is therefore taken to the President, I don’t think the President will have any other job to do.

Apart from the protocol and status, it is even insulting to the country. He can talk to the EFCC, ICPC and Police and if he wants a higher authority, he can meet with the Inspector-General of Police. So, he does not need to get to that level at all because nobody is going to allow that.

The police are going to protect him; he should go to the police or the EFCC. They are the best protectors, they have armed officers, and they can keep him in a safe room or safe house.I don’t think that is going to be a problem."

Crime › Man Arraigned For Using Female Facebook Account For N1.5 Million Fraud(photo) by aminulive(op): 6:14pm On Nov 27, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

The EFCC Kaduna Zonal Office, today, Monday, November 27, 2017, arraigned one Abubakar Isiyaku before Justice Mohammed Yahaya of the State High Court, Kano, on a one-count charge bordering on Criminal Breach of Trust and Obtaining by False Pretence.

Investigations into the case revealed that the accused who allegedly specialises in disguising as a female fraudulently opened a facebook account with profile name Hajia Fatima Mohmammed and through this medium, continuously chatted and eventually exchanged numbers with the complainant.

Along the line, they arranged to meet one on one, but being that Abubakar was not a female as he portrayed all this while, and lied to the complainant on the day they were to meet that his mum was hospitalised in Lagos.

Having realised that he had earned the trust of the complainant, he decided to further his plan by informing him(complainant)that his mum needs to be flown out for an emergency medical procedure in Saudi Arabia and would need the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira as a loan to make arrangements.

Surprisingly, after a while, the accused called the complainant with a purported Saudi line to intimate him about the progress of treatment and asked for an additional Five Hundred Thousand Naira to further offset the remaining medical bills. The complainant again sent the amount.

Having fully mapped out his plan, he then informed the complainant about their return to Nigeria and possibility of refunding the borrowed monies but met another hitch as his father was purportedly arrested at the airport upon arrival by the EFCC, his accounts frozen and needed money to bail his father which will all be paid back from the sum of Two Billion Naira that was hidden somewhere in the father's house.

The complainant in his statement revealed that a total of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira was given to the accused so far and after some time his phone lines were no longer reachable and efforts to retrieve all his money became futile.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charge and prosecuting counsel, Sa'ad Hanafi Sa'ad urged the court to fix a date for hearing while the defence counsel, Habib Shittu filed for the accused's bail which the prosecuting counsel asked for time to scrutinize and respond to.

The Judge subsequently ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending ruling on his bail application. The case is adjourned to 18th and 19th of December, 2017 for ruling on bail application and commencement of trial.

@POLITICSNGR

The EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Monday, November 27, 2017, arraigned the trio of Baboucar Jallow, a Gambian; Ndiaga Ba, a Senegalese and Abel Bassey, a Nigerian, before Justice M.B. Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a two-count charge bordering on illegal oil deal.

The suspects, who were arraigned alongside their vessel, MT Wolof, were arrested by the Nigerian Navy at the Lagos Anchorage Area and handed over to the EFCC on June 17, 2017.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.Counsel to the defendants, Adegboyega Adetunji, urged the court to grant his clients bail.

However, the prosecution counsel, Ekele Ihenacho, opposed the bail application, arguing that “both the second and third defendants are foreigners and have no fixed addresses in Lagos. “My Lord, granting them bail will not guarantee that they will make themselves available for trial.”

He, therefore, asked the court for a trial date. Consequently, Justice Idris refused the bail application and adjourned the case to December 13 and 20, 2017 for hearing of bail application and commencement of trial.

The accused were ordered to be remanded in prison custody.

Politics › Anyim Pius Under Inhumane Conditions In EFCC Custody - Mike Ozekhome by aminulive(op): 10:17am On Nov 25, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome has cried out over the treatment being meted out to the former secretary general of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim by the Economic and financial crimes commission(EFCC).

Anyim has been in detention for weeks now and is allegedly being kept in Inhumane and degrading conditions by officials of the anti-graft commission.

In a petition filed by Ozekhome, who is also Anyim's lawyer, he debunked the misleading reports by various media houses that the Ex-government official had been released by the commission on bail last Wednesday.

"This is a lie from the pit of hell. These false reports, which credit their source to “unnamed sources within the EFCC”, have continued to circulate throughout Thursday and Friday, with the intent to deceive the world and divert its attention from the gross abuse of the fundamental rights of Anyim, who has been kept under inhuman and degrading conditions for this unconstitutionally lengthy period".

According to the lawyer, Anyim is still being held by the EFCC even after submitting his passport and fulfilling all bail conditions. He alleged that they forced forme his client to sign all sorts of self-incriminating and property stripping documents against his will.

In spite of these and the clear provisions of sections 35 and 36 of the Nigerian Constitution and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), the EFCC has bluntly refused to release Anyim to go and attend to his very poor health over which he was receiving treatment before he was forcibly taken away from home.

This is calling upon the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to prevail on the EFCC (and all law enforcement agencies), to respect the rule of law and the constitution they have sworn to protect and defend by promptly ordering Anyim’s release forthwith."

Oyefeso of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on an eight-count charge bordering on possession of fraudulent documents and obtaining money by false pretence.

Etim, 30, who is said to be a member of a syndicate of fraudsters operating in the Lekki area of Lagos, among other alleged offences, obtained the sum of $4,000 USD from a victim in Singapore, after posting a dog for sale on an online platform.

An investigation also revealed that the suspect, who does not have a stable job, had several inflows of money into his account, which he could not satisfactorily account for.

The suspect pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, Banjo James, asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the suspect in prison custody.

In his response, counsel to the defence, O.V. Adoro, urged the court to grant his client bail.However, the prosecution counsel opposed the bail application.

Consequently, Justice Oyefeso ordered the suspect to be remanded in Kirikiri Prisons and adjourned the case to February 18, 2018, for a hearing of bail application.

Politics › PDP May Lose In 2019 because of Impunity - Ifeanyi Ubah, Fires Peter Obi by aminulive(op): 10:38pm On Nov 24, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Capital Oil boss, Ifeanyi Ubah has given reasons why Opposition party, PDP may lose the general elections in 2019.

Ubah who was interviewed on AIT's Focus Nigeria on Friday said that 'Impunity and Highhandedness' may lead to the failure of the PDP at the 2019 presidential polls. Ubah accused the ex-governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi of hijacking the party's structure in collaboration with some party chieftains for personal gains.

He revealed that his decision to leave the party for APGA was due to the outcome of the party's primaries for the just concluded Anambra state gubernatorial elections. He said;

"I left the PDP because of impunity. That party does not know what conscience is. The PDP has lost it.Look at what they did to us in Anambra. Peter Obi just came and hijacked everything. They never allowed us to even get close to the delegates. We didn’t know who the delegates were until the eve of the primaries. We did not have access to them to tell them what we can offer. They just brought a list and they called them delegates.

You have seen the result of their impunity in the election. APGA beat them hands-down. Willy showcased what he has done but the PDP has nothing to use to campaign.

Forget about the things you hear about vote buying. There was nothing like vote buying. People just didn’t want PDP. My intention was to reposition PDP because of what I have put in the party but I have seen that it was a bad investment.PDP will continue to bear the brunt of impunity until they begin to practice democracy. My next target to tell Nigerians about the evil called PDP and they will hear it as we approach 2019. 2019 is about APC and APGA.

We have not even gotten to 2019 you are beginning to see the drama. They don’t know anything apart from manipulation and imposition. How can a party survive like that.

But what I can tell you for sure is that our next business now is to grow APGA. I have played a pivotal role in the life of all the governors in the South East. APGA will take over all the South Eastern states because the governors are not representing Igbos well."

Politics › APC Reacts To Atiku Abubakar's Resignation: "He Is An Opportunist" by aminulive(op): 5:15pm On Nov 24, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

The Niger state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has gone nuclear on former party chieftain, Atiku Abubakar over his resignation from the party this morning.

In a series of tweets, the party described Atiku as an opportunist who has destroyed Nigeria since 1999, adding that he did not contribute to their victory in the 20015 Elections.

The tweets read;

“In politics, there is freedom of choosing which ever party you want to belong to, the only thing wrong with APC today is some PDP elements in it. @Atiku is the leader of those elements, to turn around and say APC has failed Nigerians is the highest form of hypocrisy.

“APC met a messed up Nigeria which Atiku and his likes started destroying since 1999. APC has made significant improvements in trying to stire the country out of that mess. If anybody has the right to say APC has failed, that person should certainly not be @Atiku

“APC has a long way to go. We are optimistic with the leadership qualities and principle of leaders like President Buhari, VP osinbajo and National Leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we are on the right course.

“This has exposed to the fact that Atiku didn’t contribute to APC’s Success in the 2015 election because of Nigeria and wellbeing of Nigerians but because of his personal gain.

"APC has a lot to do in the area of rewarding party loyalists. Most especially genuine loyalists that have been with the party since day one. Atiku has no right to complain about that. His cronies has been appointed in various positions"

“APC also need to put its act together and stop accepting PDP members that have questionable characters. We need a viable opposition to prosper as a country, not accept every Tom, dick and Harry that wants to decamp to APC.

“90% of these decampees from PDP re opportunists, including yours truly. They weren’t not in the party before it was created, they only came when it was successful. That’s opportunism.

“Like in Niger state. 99% of PDP decampees today are opportunists. They are only there for personal gain. They have taken over the party and have left the genuine members out of everything. They have the manipulation experience so they succeeded.

“If @Atiku claims he contributed financially to APC’s success in 2015, it then means he is asserting Nigerians votes because of money. If money was the decider, PDP would’ve taken the crown.

“To a lot of people (mostly PDP) members, winning election is about food is ready let’s come and eat, not about governance and Good leadership.

“At the Centre, with the likes of President Buhari And Bola Tinubu, APC is safe, but at state levels with states like Niger state, the people have lost confidence in APC, if we don’t wake up, the party will find it difficult in 2019.”

Politics › 2019 Elections: Atiku, Tinubu Have Abandoned Buhari - Sule Lamido by aminulive(op): 8:57am On Nov 11, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

Former governor of Jigawa state and presidential aspirant, Sule Lamido has revealed that president Muhammadu Buhari has been dumped by two leading members of the ruling APC, ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar and former governor of Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Lamido, the president is now left with his 'tiny' CPC members having lost the total support of those that brought him to power in 2015. He told Sun;

 “That is my business if they endorse him or if he runs? Buhari came from a very small party called the CPC. Without the influence of the ACN and the governors who left the PDP, there was no way he would have won because he came from a very tiny party. If those who came together to make him what he is, are no longer in the party, then he has my sympathy for failing to understand this. Look here, Buhari is no threat to the PDP.

In PDP, we do not give a damn on whoever the APC presents for 2019 because we are more than two-thirds. We know that as a party, we have made some mistakes and we apologise to Nigerians. If the likes of Tinubu and Atiku feel concerned about what is happening in APC and those who were originally in PDP leave, what will become of him? He would only be left with his tiny CPC, I don’t know how he would do it, but that is his problem, not mine. In any case, the Buhari of today is not the Buhari of 2015.

The Buhari of today is fatigued; he is faced with what you call political party management in a democracy. It is not where you give orders; here, you have to build some consensus. You can see he cannot even relate well with the Senate President of his own party.

So, the Buhari of today is not the Buhari of 2015. Before 2015, he was Buhari the puritanical. Buhari, who they saw as the only man at the helm of 20 million people that Nigerians in the APC were ready to surrender their trust, their reasoning, their honour and everything because they are so lazy. Look at what (Professor Itse) Sagay said about the APC. He said they are all thieves."

@POLITICSNGR

A heavy inferno broke out at the Adeyemi College of Education around 10 pm on Thursday night, destroying property worth millions of Naira.

PoliticsNGR gathered that the fire outbreak was caused by a power surge in of the offices in the building. Several vital documents were consumed by the inferno and efforts to put out the fire were unsuccessful as the fire extinguishers in the institution were expired.

An eyewitness told reporters; "One of the five buildings housing the school of education was razed and lots of documents were badly destroyed.The offices in the building is used by the lecturers and student were not much on campus except those on their teaching practice.

It took the effort of the students of the college who were currently in a teaching practice exercise to avoid the fire from spreading into other buildings.An electric cable connecting the college to the building was disconnected shortly after the inferno was noticed.

In fact, the late arrival of the men of the fire service in the town worsen the whole incidence because they had complained that there was no battery in their vehicle."

Politics › I Will Address Issues Of Lop-sided Appointments, Insecurity - Buhari by aminulive(op): 6:02pm On Nov 10, 2017
@POLITICSNGR

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja assured religious leaders, and all Nigerians, that his administration will address rising concerns of corruption, insecurity and injustices in various parts of the country.

President Buhari gave the assurance when he received a Christian delegation led by the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle and a Muslim delegation led by the Secretary General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, in separate meetings at the State House.

The President told the CAN delegation that he had already given instructions for the submission of all the names of heads of parastatals in order to address the allegations of lop-sidedness in appointments.

“On the question of one-sided appointments, we will look at it. I have given instructions that a list of all heads of parastatals be submitted to me and I know they will not delay in doing that,’’ he said.

President Buhari said his administration would ensure reform of the police and judiciary, describing both institutions as critical for the security and stability of the nation.

“There is no way we can be comfortable in our country unless we are lucky to have a good police force and judiciary.

“We need a good police force and judiciary to really maintain the legitimacy and the confidence of the populace in governance,’’ the President added.

On the fight against corruption, the President assured both CAN and the JNI leaders that his administration would always be guided by the rule of law and constitutionality in prosecuting all those that had been accused of corruption.

President Buhari explained to the JNI delegation that corruption in the country had taken a cultural dimension, urging all religious leaders and Nigerians to join in the fight in order to reverse the trend.

“When something becomes a culture, it is more difficult to stop, but collectively we will prevail,’’ he assured the leaders.

In his remarks, Rev. Ayokunle commended the President’s achievements in the fight against corruption, empowerment of the military to flush out Boko Haram terrorists and the recovery of some of the kidnapped Chibok girls.

The Secretary-General of JNI appealed to the President to pay more attention to the yearnings of Nigerians, urging him to continually walk in the fear of God.

Politics › Presidency Reacts To Report On Buhari Avoiding Aso-rock Office(photo) by aminulive(op): 12:29pm On Nov 09, 2017
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has reacted to a premium times report that President Muhammadu Buhari is still avoiding his Aso-rock office 81 days after returning from a medical vacation abroad.

It was widely reported on Thursday that President Muhammadu Buhari was still working in his home office almost 3 months after his main office in Aso-rock was shut down from 'Renovations'.

The report alleged that the reason for the president's avoidance of the office was due to spiritual issues. However, Ahmad via a post on Facebook this afternoon debunked the report. He wrote;

"For Your Information: President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over an Armed Forces Council Meeting in this particular office you’re talking about."
