@POLITICSNGR The Federal airports authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has reacted to allegations of theft by top musicians, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage. FAAN said that the reports of theft are 'false and Baseless'. On Wednesday, luggage belonging to both artists were reportedly stolen from a Bombardier Challenger 605 jet with registration number T7-A00 while it was slowly taxiing to a Hangar at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos. The artistes were returning from a function in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state. A spokesperson for FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu said the reports were false, adding that it was impossible for the jet to be burgled. "The purported victims in the said cases also did not make themselves available for questioning, in the quest to unravel the case. Although investigations are still ongoing, FAAN will like to reassure travellers and the general public that with the level of safety and security systems on ground at the airports, it is practically impossible for an aircraft to be burgled within our Runways and Aprons." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/28/private-jet-robbery-wizkid-tiwa-savage-reports-false-baseless-faan/

@POLITICSNGR The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has described as very unfortunate a statement credited to the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA) on the fuel supply situation, especially Premium Motor Spirit (petrol). NNPC wishes to affirm that it has supplied appreciable volume to DAPPMA, Major Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to rid the challenges currently being experienced in the supply and distribution of petroleum products in the country. NNPC regrets that DAPPMA which members had taken receipts of products from Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of NNPC and owe the company to the tune of N26.7billion as at December 21, 2017, has the audacity to indict NNPC unjustifiably. The statement by DAPPMA that the current hiccups in the supply of products was due to the inability of the Direct Sale Direct Purchase (DSDP) partners of NNPC to deliver on their business obligations is unfounded and self-indicting as many of DAPPMA members patronize the same DSDP international counterparts as the corporation. Despite the concession by the government giving access to DAPPMA to obtain FOREX at an official rate of N305 per dollar for PMS import, their members have not been able to do so, leaving NNPC as the sole supplier of PMS to the Nigerian market. NNPC assures the public that despite the increase it effected in the supply of PMS in the December 2017, it has nonetheless, programmed to supply 1.2billion litres of the white products in January 2018, translating to about 40million litres of PMS supply per day. Ordinarily, Nigeria consumes about 700 trucks (about 27million – 30million) litres per day. Despite the current challenges, Nigerians are reassured that there is no plan to increase PMS pump price above N145/litre and that NNPC will continue to maintain ex–depot price of N133.28/litre which guarantees the pump price not exceeding the N145 per litre capped by the government. All stakeholders are implored to support the efforts of government to bring a speedy end to the current fuel distribution challenges being experienced in parts of the country as this is not the time to play the blame game. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/27/supply-products-despite-n26-7-billion-debt-nnpc-fires-marketers/

@POLITICSNGR The Nigerian government will have to pay a subsidy of N40.70 for every litre of imported fuel in order to keep pump price at N145. This development was made public by the NNPC GMD, Maikanti Baru at a press conference in Abuja. According to Baru, the landing cost of Petrol at the moment is N171 per litre. "The landing cost comprising CIF (cost, insurance and freight) of petrol as of last Friday was in the neighbourhood of $620 per metric tonne, so with the official exchange rate of N305 to the dollar, the landing cost should be N171.40 per litre. The government has consistently indicated that N145 per litre is the price and it has mandated the NNPC to keep the depot price at N133.28 per litre, so as to maintain a cap of N145 per litre. So, there is a lot of profit in between after taking the transportation cost of N7 off; there is sufficient margin for marketers in that PPPRA template at the price cap." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/25/fg-pay-n40-per-litre-fuel-subsidy-keep-pump-price-n145/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR Barely five days after some haggard looking men suspected to be hired assassins invaded the home of the embattled former Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce Team on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina in Abuja, brandishing sophisticated weapons and harassing his family members, his family house in Kaduna was again attacked at about 900hours on Christmas Eve. An eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Mallam Salisu, told The Street Reporters that no fewer than nine (9) men arrived the house in a Hilux van and a Peugeot 406 car. They were said to have driven straight to the family house where Maina's mother resides at Kawu area of Kaduna State. While the Hilux van was stationed outside the house, the 406 was driven straight into the compound and one of the occupants asked of Abdulrasheed Maina and his mother’s whereabouts. After ransacking the house, breaking the front and the back doors as well as the ceiling in the process, and not finding their targets, the men who were shouting "Where Maina?"; "Where is the mother?" before they tired up the security man and took him to an unknown destination. He was later dumped at the bush at an outskirt of Kaduna where he was found by the villagers with a handcuff. The matter has been reported to the Kawu police station by one of the family members, identified as Aliyu Maina and security men have since been detailed to the house alongside anti-bomb experts who combed the house and its vicinity. Some of the suspected assassins were said to be dressed in military uniforms. Five days ago, a similar incident took place at the Abuja home of the former pension reform boss where two rooms in the house were ransacked, checking personal apparels in the house without any form of identification or a search warrant. Maina's Security aides who were immediately informed, arrived the rented house but the suspected men led by a man said to be wearing a police uniform was accosted but they rebuffed every attempt to get them disclose their identity and mission around Maina's home. Recall that Maina who has escaped many assassination attempts while serving as the Pension Reforms Taskforce Team boss, has consistently asked for security protection by the federal government against the pension cabals who have been after him following his numerous revelations on their clandestine activities. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/25/breaking-assassins-storm-mainas-family-house-kaduna/

@POLITICSNGR The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has intensified efforts to flood the market with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise called petrol, and other products. Already, six major marketers: Total, Forte Oil, Oando Plc, MRS, 11 Plc and Nipco Plc, are now loading products round the clock from their various depots in Lagos for onward trucking to all parts of the Country. The supplies are mostly from Cargoes of PMS imported to by NNPC which are daily berthing and immediately being made to discharge their products to stem the supply hiccups. The imported products are also being supplemented by supplies from the local refineries. NNPC assures Nigerians to remain calm and not to engage in panic buying as the end of the challenge is nigh. Marketers are strongly advised against hoarding as security agencies, working with industry regulators, would mete out appropriate sanctions to defaulters. Earlier in the week, NNPC GMD, Dr. Maikanti Baru, had stated that the Corporation’s 1billion litres PMS cargo imports had started to arrive, saying supplies to parts of the country had been doubled to 80million litres per day since the current hiccup in the supply chain was noticed a few days back. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/23/fuel-scarcity-nnpc-intensifies-efforts-flood-market-products/

@POLITICSNGR Below is a full statement from President Muhammadu Buhari felicitating with Nigerians this Christmas; Dear Compatriots, I felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on the occasion of this year’s Christmas day celebration. The commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ is an important opportunity for us to show love to one another and encourage unity by spending quality time with our friends, families and the less-privileged. It is also an occasion to draw inspiration from the exemplary lifestyle and teachings of Jesus Christ, who constantly stood for what is right, true and honest. The Holy Book describes Christmas as a festival of peace, joy, healing, hope and fulfilment. It kindles great expectations in the heart, irrespective of the challenges of the moment. As we celebrate this Yuletide season, let us devote some time to pray and appreciate the sacrifices of members of our armed services to keep our nation safe and secure. By the same token, and keeping with the spirit of the season, our gallant troops serving in the frontlines in the fight against insurgency; those wounded, lying in the hospital, as well as civilians who have suffered the brunt of evil and wicked elements these past years, deserve our fervent goodwill and sustained prayers. The personal fortitude of these individuals will continue to inspire us to victory as we turn the tide against the enemy and annihilate those who work against the unity of our nation. In this season of hope, let us remember to provide refuge to those who cannot enjoy Christmas at home with their families, or have been driven from their homes by insurgency or violence, particularly the Internally Displaced Persons. Lately, we have witnessed an upsurge in the activities of trans-border syndicates who lure our youths to modern slavery through irregular migration. While we have stepped up our efforts to halt this wickedness against the upwardly mobile generation, and have evacuated some of our compatriots stranded abroad, we appeal to them to shun the allure of embarking on such perilous journeys. I am deeply convinced that better days lie ahead for us as a nation as we make progress on all the major fronts where we have set our energies to surmount the challenges. I wish you all Happy Christmas celebrations. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/23/buhari-releases-christmas-message-nigerians-read/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR The Ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has responded to claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP that president Muhammadu Buhari will emerge the sole candidate of the party at the 2019 presidential polls. Spokesman of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi while addressing newsmen in Kwara said that the statements that Buhari wants to be the sole candidate of the party were inconsistent and Presumptuous. He pointed out that the rumours were false and that the PDP does not understand internal democracy. "Expecting the Peoples Democratic Party to understand internal democracy would be asking for too much.APC has no hand in the crisis currently rocking the PDP.The PDP is still suffering from withdrawal syndrome." He finalized by saying that the PDP was built upon falsehood. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/23/buhari-not-sole-candidate-apc/

@POLITICSNGR Ex-minister of Aviation, Olufemi Fani-Kayode has yet again attacked the Muhammadu Buhari led administration for voting against the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The PDP scribe stated that he expected Buhari to vote against the recognition since he was a supporter of Radical Islamist terrorists. The UN general assembly adopted a decisive vote of 128 to 9 with 35 abstentions rejecting the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. FFK wrote; "Given the fact that we are being led by a man that has sympathy for radical Islamist terrorists and jihadist Fulani militias. I am not surprised that Nigeria was amongst those nations that voted against Jerusalem being recognised as the capital of Israel at the U.N. yesterday!". https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/22/fani-kayode-attacks-buhari-rejecting-us-recognition-jerusalem/

@POLITICSNGR The management of Dangote Industries Limited has again vehemently rejected the many assertions of BUA Group, on its dubious claim to being the rightful owner of Mining Lease No 2541. Dangote in a statement made available to our reporter revealed that its reaction became very necessary as a result of its status as a publicly quoted company and to further re-assure its shareholders, the regulators and members of the public that the company is and remains a responsible corporate citizen Faulting BUA's fraudulent claim that the Dangote Group is trying to monopolize the Cement business in the Country, the Group said that BUA has willfully, deliberately and mischievously concealed the fact that it has at least 12 Mining/Quarry Leases within and around the area in question as opposed to this sole Mining Lease No 2541 owned by the Dangote Group. Dangote further stated that: “First and foremost, there is no Status Quo Order made by any Court that allows BUA to continue mining over the disputed Mining Lease area. In fact, there is no Status Quo Order at all. It is critical for us to point out that there is currently pending, a Motion for Interlocutory Injunction dated 27 April 2016 seeking to restrain the BUA Group from continuing with its illegal mining activities on the Mining Lease Area but in spite of having been served with this Application and contrary to all tenets of the law which forbid a party served with an Interlocutory Injunction Motion from taking any step in respect of the subject matter of the Suit, the BUA Group has in utter disdain to the Court continued with its illegal mining activities.” Dangote said BUA, that is now using the media to cause confusion applied for a Mining Lease over the same area in 2013 but the Application was rejected by the Ministry on the sole ground that it overlaps ML. 2541 which at the time belonged to AICO. “If BUA had title that dates back to 1998, is there any conceivable reason why it will apply for the same title over the same area in 2013” the statement queried. Dangote, while debunking the claim by BUA that it is trying to monopolize the cement business stated that: “It is misleading for BUA to falsely accuse Dangote of undermining its operations and attempting to create a monopoly in the Cement Industry in Nigeria, as we have always coexisted peacefully with other competitors in Obajana and Ibese” The Claim by BUA that it has always been in possession of the disputed mining lease was also faulted by Dangote Group, as it affirmed that the Group “ … has been the one in possession of the Mining Lease since 2016 and this was recently confirmed by the Kogi State High Court's Judgment delivered on 27 October 2017 in Charge No. HCL/65C/2017: State v. Joshua Oghene, Hon. Haruna Afegbua and Bulus Golit which sentenced the Chief Security Officer of BUA Group, Mr Bulus Golit to one year imprisonment without any option of fine, for attacking Dangote Group's officials and workers in the Mining Lease No. 2541. The imprisonment of BUA Chief Security Officer amongst other things has confirmed that the claim by the BUA Group that it has been in possession is totally fallacious” https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/22/dangote-bua-lies-claims-mines-ownership/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, December 18, 2017, arraigned one Jarret Tenebe and his company, Fenix Impex Nigeria Limited, before Justice A. S. Umar of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama on a two-count charge of forgery. It was alleged that sometimes in 2010 at Abuja, the accused person fraudulently forged a State House letter, signed in the name of Chief Mike A. Oghiadomhe, former Chief of Staff to the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, requesting for approval for one year retainership service for evacuation of seized crude oil, with intent to defraud. The offence is punishable under Section 364 of the Penal Code Law. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. Upon his plea, counsel to the EFCC, Rimamsomte Ezekiel asked the court to fix a date for trial and to remand the accused person in prison custody pending trial. Tenebe’s counsel, Zakkawannu Garuba, on the other hand, informed the court that he had a pending bail application, stating the condition of health of his client and prayed he be admitted to bail. Justice Umar adjourned to December 19 for a hearing of the bail application and ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/18/efcc-arraigns-business-director-tenebe-forging-state-house-letterphoto/

@POLITICSNGR The Nigerian army has released a statement debunking reports of the death of 4 UN staff during a gun battle with Insurgents in Maula village, Borno state. Below is a statement made available to PoliticsNGR signed by the Deputy director, public relations, Theatre command Lafiya Dole, Col. O Nwachukwu; "Contrary to the information currently making the rounds in a section of the media that four United Nations staff had been killed and four trucks conveying food for internally displaced persons were carted away, the Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole wishes to state that the report grossly misrepresents the true situation of the incident as none of the casualties in the encounter has been identified as a staff of the UN. In setting the record straight, it is necessary to state here that a patrol escorting a convoy of civilian vehicles to Logomani encountered an ambush staged by elements of Boko Haram insurgents at Maula village along Dikwa-Ngala trans Sahara highway which resulted in a firefight between troops and the insurgents. The troops, however, fought through the ambush, overpowered the insurgents and killed six of them. The troops also captured 3 AK 47 rifles, 3 locally fabricated firearms, 4 magazines and a belt of 7.62 mm ammunition. Sadly four persons died in the encounter. Although none of the persons killed in the ambush has so far been identified as a staff of the UN, this Headquarters considers the lives of all citizens and indeed all humans sacrosanct, which must be protected by troops even at a supreme price. The situation has been brought under control and further exploitation of the general area is currently being carried out by Mobile strike Team of Operation Lafiya Dole." @POLITICSNGR Prof. Christiana Adeyeye, Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Monday called on Nigerians to report any form of illegal drug production in their environments. Adeyeye made the call at the ongoing 8th Annual Symposium of the Health Writers’ Association of Nigeria (HEWAN) in Lagos. The director-general was represented by Mrs Abayomi Bolaji, a Deputy Director in the agency. The symposium had the theme “The Menace of Counterfeit Drugs, the Role of Regulatory Bodies’’. “One of the greatest challenges of the agency is shortage of manpower because Nigeria is a large and complex country, and its little manpower cannot be everywhere. “We are calling on the public to blow the whistle whenever they discover any form of illegal manufacturing or production of drugs within their vicinity. “Blow the whistle; most of these illegal productions of drugs are done in the night. We will ensure utmost confidentiality. “NAFDAC will neither relent nor waver in the fight until the battle is won,” she promised. The director-general said that counterfeit drugs had many health and economic consequences. “Counterfeit drugs pose a public health hazard, waste consumers’ income and reduce incentives to engage in research, development and innovation. “The result of the use of fake drugs can be poisoning, treatment failure, untreated disease and death,’’ she said. Adeyeye said that the magnitude of drug counterfeiting was much and required strong and sustained actions from governments, the industry and consumers. She highlighted strategies being used by NAFDAC to eradicate drug counterfeiting to include sustained public enlightenment and collaboration with national and international agencies. According to her, the agency had also engaged in capacity building of its staff, reviewed NAFDAC laws and applied cutting-edge technologies to tackle drug counterfeiting. Adeyeye appealed to stakeholders and other members of the public to join hands with NAFDAC in the fight against drug counterfeiting. In his remarks, Dr Emmanuel Enabulele, Chairman, Board of Trustees, HEWAN, said that, with adequate collaboration, Nigeria would win the fight against drug counterfeiting. He thanked NAFDAC for sharing knowledge with the journalists, and expressed the hope that the relationship between the agency and the media would continue to yield fruitful results. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/18/blow-whistle-see-fake-drugs-nafdac-tells-nigerians/

@POLITICSNGR A very remarkable incident took place a few days ago in Anambra after an Unemployed young man identified as Chijinkem Ugwuanyi returned a sum of N566,000 he found at the scene of an accident, PoliticsNGR has learnt. According to Prince Harrison Gwamnishu, an eyewitness to the occurrence, Ugwuanyi returned the money 3 days after he discovered it because he couldn't locate its owners. Gwamnishu explained; Even in hardship and in this festive season everyone is looking for money, Chijinkem returned N566,000. Good people still exist in Nigeria. Chijinkem Ugwuanyi is Graduate of Psychology from Enugu State University of Science and Technology who graduated 2012 and still unemployed. Few days ago, he called me to inform me of the money and help search for the owner and I advise him what to do. Yesterday he located the owner an accident victim who was going to the market to buy keke spare parts. Surprisingly, Chijinkem picked the money 7th December and did not bother to count it until yesterday it was returned. "How much is the money"? I asked him "Bros I did not count it" he replied. @POLITICSNGR Ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri has detailed questions that, according to him, expose the Hypocrisy of President Muhammadu Buhari in his fight against corruption. Omokri believes that the president is not being sincere and honest in the Anti-corruption war. He wrote; "In 2012, allegations were made by opposition elements and their fifth columnists in the Jonathan administration against that government’s running of the oil sector. The government was accused of not running a transparent oil industry and it was alleged that monies were mismanaged. In response, the Jonathan administration initiated not one, not two, but three probes including one headed by a member of the opposition in the person of the highly skilled and highly credible Malam Nuhu Ribadu, who had ran as President in 2011 against the then incumbent. One of the probes was s forensic audit by PriceWaterhouseCooper, perhaps the most thorough independent and internationally renowned audit firm. Not only were these probes instituted, but their results were made public. Now fast forward to 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari’s minister of state for petroleum resources wrote a memorandum to the President which got leaked. In it, he accused the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation of awarding $25 Billion worth of contracts without due process. Till this very moment as you are reading this document, the President has not commented on this allegation neither has he, as the senior minister of petroleum, taken any steps to probe these allegations in a manner that is public and transparent, yet this is the same man who always accuses his immediate predecessor of corruption. To put this $25 billion in perspective, that money can pay 1 million Nigerians minimum wage of ₦18,000 for 10 years and can educate 1 million Nigerians from nursery school to post graduate level. Please cross check this fact! On the 15th of February 2013, former President Jonathan ordered the then Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to take immediate disciplinary action against the then Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Force team, Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina. This is a direct quote from then President Jonathan’s statement to the Head of Service: “President Jonathan directed the Head of Service to act expeditiously on the disciplinary proceedings against Alhaji Maina and report back to him on actions taken”. President Jonathan also ordered the then Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, to immediately arrest Abdulrasheed Maina and personally update him on his efforts. Fast forward to 2017 and the present Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, said President Muhammadu Buhari was aware of the reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina because she personally told him before it happened and warned him about the negative implications of the act for the so called anti-corruption war. In a leaked memo, Mrs. Oyo-Ita said: “I sought an audience with His Excellency, Mr. President on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 after the FEC meeting where I briefed His Excellency verbally on the wide-ranging implications of the reinstatement of Mr. A. A. Maina, especially the damaging impact on the anti-corruption stance of this administration.” Yet, the Buhari administration went ahead to recall, reinstate and double promote one of the alleged biggest thieves in world history, with the full knowledge and active participation of the President I might add. The Buhari administration tried to shut down INTELS, a private firm, for not complying with the Treasury Single Account, meanwhile this hypocritical government was allowing NNPC, a public corporation, abuse the TSA to the tune of ₦50 billion. If you still believe in President Buhari’s anti-corruption war, you probably still believe his promise of making dollar equal to Naira So, going from the above, I ask you, who is actually corrupt between President Buhari and former President Jonathan? And permit me to ask you another question question: Obasanjo initiated EFCC/ICPC to fight corruption. Jonathan initiated BVN, IPPIS, GIMFIS, TSA & e-Wallet to fight corruption. What has Buhari initiated to fight corruption other than blaming past administrations? The only thing he can truthfully be credited with adding to the anti-corruption fight is the Whistleblower policy, but even that has become a cesspool of corruption and abuse. How many people have been paid based on this policy? Little or none. The one man who exposed the Ikoyi billions (whose APC owner we do not know till today) was declared mad when he tried to claim his 5% and then forcefully removed to Yaba Psychiatric Hospital. It took the intervention of the media to force the hand of the government and make it pay, not the 5% it promised, but a mere 2%. The man collected what they gave him and bolted from Nigeria before they could call him a psycho or serial killer! In terms of anti-corruption credentials, President Buhari is in deficit while the past administrations he accuses are in credit. And Transparency International has taken note of this which is why despite all the razzmatazz and smoke and mirrors of the Buhari government’s media trial, Nigeria has made NO improvements in Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index. The now obvious truth is that President Buhari is a hypocrite who weaponized his so-called anti-corruption war for the purpose of hounding the opposition so that no one would be able to challenge his re-election bid because he knows that on the strength of his first term performance, Nigerians will not even vote for him to head a local government, how much more to lead their nation a second time. President Buhari’s anti-corruption war has not been looking for corruption, instead his goons have been looking for scapegoats and opponents that have the capacity to stop the President in his tracks, and if they cannot find evidence against them, they manufacture it, which has led to a suspension of belief in the President’s anti-corruption war on the part of the Nigerian people. What a sad way to demystify yourself to the Nigerian people. Alas, what a very sad way!". https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/16/anti-corruption-war-questions-expose-buharis-hypocrisy-reno-omokri/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR A Private Jet belonging to Vistajet has been robbed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport(MMA) in Lagos. The Jet with Registration number 9H-VFA operated by EAN was attacked on Runway18R by unknown Bandits while it was taxiing to the Hangar of EAN ltd.(Evergreen Apple Nigeria). The jet was arriving from Istanbul between 2110-2130hrs after landing in Lagos. PoliticsNGR gathered that the pilot of the Jet, Captain Emma Heering noticed that the rear door of the aircraft was opened while taxiing into the Hangar. It was later discovered that a big bag belonging to an Airhostess, Francesca Louis was missing. An Eyewitness told sahara reporters; "What actually happened was that when the aircraft was taxiing to the hangar of EAN, the cabin crew discovered that the rear door was opened. So, when the jet taxied to the hangar, it was discovered that one big black bag belonging to their air hostesses was missing. An alarm was raised, but no one could trace the bandit who had forced the door open while taxiing." According to sources, this was not the first time such an incident was occurring at the airport. Earlier this year, a band of thieves opened the door of a small aircraft and absconded with the belongings of some occupants. It was later discovered that the affected Jet VT584 was not escorted by any operational vehicle at the time of the crime which made it possible for the bandits to escape. Attached below is a photograph of the 9H-VFA; https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/16/private-jet-robbed-bandits-murtala-mohammed-airport-lagos/

@POLITICSNGR PoliticsNGR has obtained photographs from the 52nd ECOWAS Heads of State Summit holding in Abuja. The 52nd ECOWAS Heads of State and Government summit opened in Abuja on Saturday as leaders discuss Morocco’s membership of the bloc and the security situation in Guinea Bissau. Morocco had made its request to be a member of ECOWAS while Tunisia requested to be an observer country. The 51st Ordinary Session held in Monrovia, Liberia in June agreed in principle to Morocco’s membership of the sub-regional bloc and directed the commission to consider the implications of the country’s membership. The commission confirmed that study on the impact of Morocco’s membership was carried out and the outcome would be submitted to the Authority. Morocco was, however not invited for the 52nd summit. Its Foreign Ministry reportedly said that the country had to wait until the first quarter of 2018 to know the decision of the ECOWAS Heads of State which would be announced at an extraordinary session. Tunisia has, however, been granted an observer status by the authority and the commission has been further directed to take necessary measures to ensure all procedures relating to an observer status are implemented. The commission also confirmed that the authority called on Mauritania to submit its request for readmission to ECOWAS. Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and Tunisian President Beji Essebsi are scheduled to make presentations as special guests at the opening session of the summit. The summit would also discuss the political and security situation in Guinea Bissau. The ECOWAS recently said its mission in Guinea Bissau had taken an “excruciating toll” on the financial resources of the sub-region. The ECOWAS Mission in Guinea Bissau (ECOMIB) made up of troops from Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Togo and Niger was deployed in May 2012 following a military coup in April 2012. ECOMIB helped to establish a civilian-led transitional government, which ended with the election of President José Mario Vaz in a run-off in May 2014 for a five-year term. The international community has called on authorities of Guinea Bissau to implement the Conakry Agreement of Oct. 2016. The agreement is the primary framework for a peaceful resolution of the political crisis in the country. The Heads of State went in for a closed-door session before making any statements, which is away from its usual tradition. The West African leaders, during the closed session, would review the reports of the 79th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers and the 39th Ordinary Meeting of the Mediation and Security Council. President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria is scheduled to present a welcome address at the opening of the summit followed by statements of President of the commission, Marcel de Souza. Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel and Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat would present statements. The opening address would be made by the Chairman of the Authority, President Faure Gnassingbé of Togo. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/16/photos-52nd-ecowas-heads-state-summit-abuja/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has brushed aside speculations that he could mount a run for Aso Rock come 2019. "I have no intention of running for President. My immediate focus is to continue working for ndi Anambra while expanding the frontiers of APGA starting with a convincing victory in the January 13, 2018, Senatorial Election, to taking over all South East States and beyond by 2017" At a rally to celebrate his reelection and to campaign for the party’s candidate, Victor Umeh, for the Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election scheduled for January 13, governor Obiano gave advice to political leaders in the region describing APGA as a hurricane. "What happened here on November 18 when APGA swept the entire poll in Anambra State will be replicated in Imo, Abia, Enugu, and Ebonyi states in 2019,” Mr. Obiano declared. “APGA is a hurricane that nobody can stop in the South-east. What I am telling my brother governors in the South-east is for them to join APGA now if they wish to be re-elected; otherwise, sorry for them, they must lose their seats to APGA in 2019,” he said. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/16/no-intentions-running-president-obiano/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR Former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has stated that president Buhari has good intentions for Nigeria. He called on all Nigerians across religious, ethnic and political divides to support the president for Greater Success. Speaking to Journalists at the Funeral Chief James Babatunde, fellow of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Kalu said; "We are heading to the Promised Land. Buhari is leading us to the Promised Land, but people don’t understand. There are two types of components that make democratic process – the hardware and the software. The hardware is what you see, such as road construction and reconstruction. The software is obedience to rule of law, accessibility to people’s mind, obedience to court order, making sure that court of competent jurisdiction’s orders are respected, and making sure that everything done in the law is totally agreeable. Our problem in Nigeria is very simple. People are not obeying traffic lights. Big people don’t want to obey simple rule; ‘do not cross this line’, this is the problem the country has. This is what Buhari is saying, that, ‘no, you cannot do without due process.’ Buhari is trying to say to Nigerian people that, ‘yes I might be slow, but we have to go through a process which is internationally acceptable’. So, we are on course. Things have been very difficult, I agree. But my grandmother used to tell me that when a tailor gets a brand new cloth, he has to first cut it into pieces, then make it into a very fine dress. That is where we are today. Everybody must be crying, we’ll get it (the nation) back on course." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/16/buhari-leading-nigeria-promised-land-orji-uzor-kalu/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Ogun says any motorist caught driving against traffic will forfeit the vehicle till after the Yuletide. Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that such preventive measure was necessary to ensure effective traffic management. He also said there was the need to put measures in place to protect lives and property following the increase in human and vehicular movement during the festive period. ”Our goal this year is to attain zero death as we projected that over 300,000 passengers would be travelling to various destinations during the festive period. ” We will be delighted seeing people travelling for the Christmas and New Year celebration to arrive safely at their various destinations, “he said. @POLITICSNGR The British government has opened up on the agitations for Biafra, Restructuring and the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) group, stating that they do not support IPOB or Secessionists. The British government maintains that it would not support any activity that will lead to the break-up of Nigeria. The British high commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright during a visit to Joy 109.1 FM in Jos, had this to say; "We are in favour of a united Nigeria; we do not support IPOB, we do not support secessionists. Equally, they have a right to be heard because the constitution provides for freedom of expression, even as restructuring is going to be a major factor in the 2019 elections. Although I do not know how exactly the restructuring will look like, I am sure that it is going to be a major determinant in the 2019 elections." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/15/biafra-british-government-opens-support-ipob/

@POLITICSNGR Former minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed what Governor Nyesom Wike thinks about all the time. According to the minister, Wike has only one agenda and that is 'Amaechi'. The former governor and Wike's predecessor during an interview on Question time by Channels Television said; "The governor has just one agenda – if he is in his toilet, ‘Amaechi’; if he is outside his toilet, ‘Amaechi’". He went further; "He (Wike) was my staff; he is like one of my sons. Why should I engage him? He was local government chairman when I was the speaker of the state," he added. "When I was governor, I used Rivers state’s money on projects in the state. If you visit the state, you will see the primary schools that we built. No matter what the governor does, the projects are there,” he said. “I hired 13,200 teachers who are alive, I established primary schools, the primary schools are there. They are no longer maintained. When I was there, I appointed a contractor whose responsibility was to come to school like the children". https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/15/wike-thinks-time-even-toilet-amaechi/

@POLITICSNGR Chief John Nnia Nwodo, the president-general of a pro-Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has responded to the attacks of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) group. The now proscribed IPOB group branded Nwodo a 'traitor' on Thursday for organizing a meeting in the south-west instead of in the south-east. Responding to the statements of IPOB, Nwodo said that he will Sabotage any attempt to cause a war in Igboland in the name of agitating for Biafra. He said this while addressing Igbo people at the National stadium during an interactive session on Restructuring. He recalled how over 2 million Igbos lost their lives during the war and revealed that Southern leaders, governors and senators where all behind the calls for restructuring. He, however, criticized the calls for restructuring from the Nothern senators, calling it 'Watery'. Nwodo revealed that he was not against the agitations adding that Igbos were truly oppressed and marginalized. He also warned that no one should touch the IPOB youths. "Nobody should touch these youths. They are my children. When I was their age, I was in the trench fighting for Biafra. My best friend died at the battlefront. More than one million people were killed in the battle, one and half million people starved to death…you can’t be a youth then without going to the battlefront. I can’t allow that to happen to my people again. That is why I will be a saboteur in any attempt to levy another war on Igboland. That is why Ohanaeze wants restructuring of Nigeria." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/15/ohanaeze-replies-ipob-will-sabotage-attempts-cause-war-nwodo/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress APC in a statement issued on Thursday in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital described the celebration of the birthday of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on 13th December as celebration of treachery, deceit and fraud. According to the party, “it is unfortunate and sad that the almighty Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who is today the jewel and pride of the opposition political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) doesn't know his date of birth. Though this maybe shocking to the outside world but those of us who are his close associates are not shocked a bit knowing his antecedents as a fellow who is capable of using any method whether sinister, unholy, untoward or otherwise to achieve any task he sets his mind to achieve including deceiving the world on his day of birth.” The APC in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya and circulated by Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze his Media Consultant today said, “We have read several birthday messages from both his family members, political associates etc celebrating his birthday on 13th December while the documents he presented to INEC and some educational Institutions on oath indicates that he was actually born on March 13, 1963 and not December, 13th 1968 as he makes the world to believe. Sadly as if he is not contented with been born on two different days the great Google on the other hand claims that Governor Wike was born on 24th August, 1967. What a feat! An individual claiming three different days as his birthday.” Both his age declaration form, sample of his birthday celebration and the Google’s stand are attached for doubting ‘Thomasess’. The statement continues: According to the age declaration sworn by his elder brother, Chief Collins Wike and Clergy father and presented to INEC and some educational Institutions, Governor Wike is said to be born on March 13, 1963. This date contradicts the new age of 13th December, 1968 and the Google date of 24th August, 1967. To some funny PDP Leaders, Wike is not only a reputable leader but the embodiment of the alien democracy being practised by PDP. In a congratulatory birthday message signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP new National Publicity Secretary, Governor Wike was described as "the jewel and pride of not only the Party and Rivers State but also the nation at large" PDP went further to hail Governor Wike for his political sagacity which had propelled the party to greater heights. It is sad that such character as Gov Wike because he has continued to waste the Rivers State funds to sponsor the activities of PDP he has become the face and hero of democracy. To us in APC, “If such a character is the jewel of PDP, Nigerians need not be told what the party PDP is made up with and what they are capable of doing, the statement signed by Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya the Rivers State APC Chairman stated. The alien democracy that Wike's PDP is practising is democracy of fraud, high-tech looting, high level of impunity and high-tech election rigging tactics as acted during her just concluded elective convention and it will be a disaster for this country if such a party is voted back to power. It is unfortunate that Rivers State is being governed by such a character and his wife - a High Court Judge is celebrating him on National TV while knowing that 13th December is not his birthday. This is the man positioning himself as the leader of PDP, a party that was founded by some great minds like Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Abubakar Rimi who are currently weeping profusely in their graves over the current state of the party that they put their lives on line to establish, how is the mighty fallen. This is a man threatening that if he is not given the office of Vice President that he will scatter the party. We feel sad when some of our best brains like OCJ Okocha, SAN and former President of the NBA look upon Governor Wike as the Messiah of Rivers State. If Wike can be involved in this type of act of not knowing the date of his birthday or rather presenting forged documents as his birthday certificate why should the world believe or accept funny documents he cooked up in order to indict an innocent man like Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi erstwhile Governor of Rivers State and incumbent Minister of Transportation. To patriotic Nigerians, instead of celebrating Wike’s fraudulent birthday, Nigerians should be mourning that a man without vision who governs a State without any budgetary provision; sponsoring anti FSARS groups to allow criminals pervades Rivers State, who in the midst of plenty owes a lot of backlog in salaries to civil servants and arrears of pension to pensioners. A man well versed and notorious in embarking on low-value projects spiced up with massive media coverage. A man who has destroyed our education by recalling our students on scholarship overseas, etc, in addition to several other atrocities is today the jewel and leader of a great political party like PDP. As much as we as a political party wish Governor Wike God's stead but we need to wait till 13th March, 2018 or August 24 2018 to formally send to him our official birthday gifts and card. https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/14/wikes-birthday-celebration-treachery-fraud-deceit-apc/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, on Sunday, said that a large percentage of Nigerians were not happy with the federal government. Okorocha scored the Buhari-led administration low in terms of addressing the level of poverty in the country. His thoughts were made public through a press statement by his press secretary, Sam Onwuemodo, shortly after Officers of the Nigerian airforce led by AVM Sampson Akpasa paid him a visit. According to the statement, Okorocha disclosed that 89% of Nigerians were not happy in the real sense of the word 'happiness' adding that only 4% could really be happy to some extent, while seven percent claim to be happy. He added; "Let me commend the Nigeria Air Force for the good job they are doing in this country, especially their fight against insurgency and, currently, what is happening in Numan and all the efforts they are making to restore peace in that area. I’m particularly proud of you.Agitation comes up when people are not happy and the whole essence of life is to be happy. For this reason, I will advise the Air Force to, just as I have done recently, which most people didn’t understand, create a department for Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment. This will help to address the need of even junior officers, who may have some forms of dissatisfaction in the discharge of their duties." https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/11/89-percent-nigerians-not-happy-buhari-okorocha/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44

@POLITICSNGR The Imo state house of Assembly has denied reports of endorsing Uche Nwosu, the Son-in-law to Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, for governor in 2019. Mr Acho Ihim, Speaker of the state assembly described the claim as 'mind-boggling'. In a statement through his press secretary, Ekwezuo Marcel, Ihim urged the people of Imo and beyond to ignore the reports. “I am constrained to debunk the news making the rounds that the lmo State House of Assembly has unanimously endorsed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the next governor of lmo State come 2019. Uche Nwosu is one of our own and is eminently qualified to contest the governorship of our dear state. No doubt, he is a member of the APC and a citizen of lmo State and these therefore give him the right to vote and be voted for. However, it needs be made clear that at no time did the members of the lmo State House of Assembly which comprises elected members of the APC and the PDP meet and endorse Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as our preferred governorship candidate or any person for that matter. The job of elected members of the House of Assembly is to make laws and make resolutions at the plenary that will impact positively on the lives of the people of lmo State. Endorsement of candidates for whatever position is not part of it. Each member is at liberty to have preference for any aspirant of their choice but certainly not a House matter. Its therefore mind-boggling that a distinguished honourable member is quoted to have granted a press interview declaring that the 27 honourable members have endorsed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.” Yes, power comes from God and He gives it to whosoever He wills and if Ugwumba is favoured by God for this job then so be it. It is the duty of the APC as a party to produce a candidate and if that candidate is Ugwumba Uche Nwosu then the Honourable members of the APC extraction are duty bound to support the candidate. In the light of the foregoing, l want to believe that Hon Henry Ezediaro, who is at liberty to personally support whoever he wants to support was quoted out of context by saying the entire 27 members have endorsed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and even donated 27 buses. The entire lmolites are, therefore, advised to discountenance the said publication as that of course is the figment of imagination of the writer and has no bearing with the lmo State House of Assembly and her revered members.". https://politicsngr.com/2017/12/11/imo-assembly-denies-endorsing-okorochas-son-law-governor/
