Thank you Lexusgs430: When you spend OD, interest is calculated daily (charged to your account at the end of the month)........
It's not usually too expensive, if fully paid up at the end of the month...... |

Please house, say at the start of a month, a bank offers overdraft, can I take it and then pay it all back at the end of the month? Do I have to be paying interest everyday or everything will be at month end? Please how does it work? |

How about holding it for additional 2 weeks after biometrics and then take it out. That's if it's costing a whole lot for you. Orthxllo: Please help.
For people who have previously been successful with student visa applications, did you hold your POF in your account until after visa was issued or you took out the money after biometrics? |

Actually, it is somewhat difficult now. You see that Birmingham in England which is the Indian and Arab mini country, I won't advice my enemy to go there. Though some persons might be lucky but getting a student job there now eh?.... Please no one should have working for 20 hours to pay school fees in mind. Don't o! You might have high blood pressure due to worries. Pay all of your fees before coming then the 20 hours can suffice for rent and groceries. As per your attached image, school and hospital cleaners requires DBS. They even do interview sef😂😂😂 there is also training required if you are going to be measuring and mixing chemical cleaning agents. You have to be certified. Overrated UK! Like someone said, if he sees who would return all his money spent on this UK Journey, he will go back home that same day. fullclub: He is saying the truth.. Jobs are scarce now in UK. Ask people on ground. Am in the UK also. Took me 3 months to land one and it's just 20 hours and it just takes care of house rent...meaning school fees, electricity bills, and other bills are on other sources |

Exactly! But I think they do random checks. Because most people pull out funds after biometrics and still get visa. UK govt are aware that most Nigerians no get that money. Cos if they actually do, I don't think coming to the UK will entice us that much. A family of five POF alone it's huge. If they actually have such money, they might not be need for relocating. UK won't do block funds! hustla: UK does verify but then people pay to have funds in account for long periods
What they can do is block funds like Germany. Germany effectively reduced migration from Nigeria with that singular policy |

Let him update his address on his bank account. He can then use the bank statement as proof of address. Preshyi: Please how can someone living with family show proof our address? A student who lives with his brother is finding it difficult to provide prove address as he does not pay any bills and that is a core requirement while applying for jobs. |

It's not like there are no jobs. The 20hours is very limiting. Most employers prefer those who can work full-time. I would advice try pay up your fees before coming. 20 hours alone would not pay the balance fees and support your rent and groceries shopping. Unless you have a dependant that can support then it gets easier. fullclub: https://www.nairaland.com/7889678/experience-uk-since-japa if you don't have your complete fee, living expenses, full house rent... even if you are with dependant please don't embark on this journey. this advice is irrespective of what anyone might have told u.
getting Job in uk is now hard for migrant i was deceived by some Nigerian fools here.. when i came in i saw the reality. |

Thank you deept: Open a currency account USD with your bank in the UK and do a direct Forex transfer to the account from your dorm acct. Charges apply depends on your 9ja bank acct. I think for gtbank it's 14k telex charge plus 0.1% of amount you are transfering.
Transfer from your currency account to your GBP account using bank conversion rate. |

Thank you! What I saw was £470 instead of £705 which the main applicant paid. Was wondering if I used the IHS calculator wrongly. bigtt76: Irrespective of how long the main applicant 9student) has spent on his or her visa, dependents are issued with a year visa and must pay the full amount. Please check here https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/family-members |

Hi house, Please I need to confirm, do you know the cost of IHS fee for children? The main applicant has spent 5months out of 12months on student visa. Trying to calculate the IHS fee, I am not sure of the amount is giving. It is way less than what the main applicant paid. |
