Can we say Xavi is a carry along player since he doesn't score or assist in double digits? Can we say Iniesta is a worse attacker than Terry because Terry has more career goals than him?

Football is a team sport and individuals have different roles, no individual can make a difference without a supporting cast.

A fit Neymar is a better player than Hazard, their playing style is similar and Neymar numbers dwarfed those of Hazard.

Giampaolo, 'Sarri is one of the best, the dream is to have fun training a team'

Marco Giampaolo, former coach of Sampdoria, who is soon expected to be announced head coach of Milan, was today by the Italian Football Coaches Association of Arezzo with the Golden Helm. Giampaolo spoke to the press about Samp, Sarri and Serie A amongst other topics.

"Samp? They were three intense, formative years, where I had the chance to work in the construction of an idea, a footballing thought. The club put me in the ideal conditions to train and I was lucky enough to be a coach important players, who even today are in the best clubs in Italy and Europe. So it was educational, all in an environment where you can work really well ".

"Maurizio [Sarri] is one of the best football coaches in Europe, he is a scholar, he is a researcher, he has done it himself. He dedicated his life to football, in search of innovations, there is great esteem from my part, and he deserved all that he has conquered. He and Conte return after an important experience abroad, we are talking about two coaches who have shown it in a tangible way ". Marco Giampaolo

The grass is not always greener on the other side.

Staying at Chelsea from academy to 23/24 at least guarantees you financial security for the rest of your life. Even the likes of Lewis Baker, Kasey Palmer and co never need to work again.

Him saying that youngsters will get a better chance at Fulham/Charlton does not always work out.

When you leave Chelsea at 23/24, you're guaranteed at least a Championship contract and a professional career.

Pointing to the likes of Lingard and Dele Alli as examples of success at other clubs is only looking at the most successful examples. He should take a cue from Frank Nouble who was highly rated and rejected new Chelsea contract at 18 to move to West Ham thinking he would get more chances, only to be playing non league football within few years.

If Frank Nouble had stayed at Chelsea, he would have established a career after couple of loan moves to Vitesse, be earning decent money till 24/25 before establishing a Championship career.

If I'm a father, I will encourage my son to stay at Chelsea till 23/24 rather than jump too early, with the guarantee of £20k per week till they become financially secure before taking risks. Men like Tomas Kalas have been collecting £1.2m a year for years. You think such a man has any financial worry in life whether he makes first team or not? Same goes for our own Omeruo who has been collecting £20k per week come rain or shine for years. I dare say if Omeruo had taken a chance years ago, he would be struggling in Greek or Ukraine league now, but Chelsea made sure to set up structured loans at clubs that gave him chance to play, prolonging his career at the top. He failed in many loans, yet Chelsea still guaranteed his income. Now he has finally had a successful loan in LaLiga, they can sell him to LaLiga club where he will be joining with enough clout to ensure they give him a good contract and playing time.

Now Kalas is 26 and will go on to establish a professional career till he retires. If he took a chance to move to Granada/Betis type club for first team football some years ago, he may have been washed out by now and looking for where to eat.

Staying at Chelsea is like aiming for the stars, even if you miss, you will land on the moon.
For some it is not about the financial reward that entices them to sign for the club as you just pointed out, they want to be given a shot at the team they love and support. There is this special feeling playing for your boyhood club ask Totti and De Rossi, not given such an opportunity to express yourself is heartbreaking.
Definitely, not all academy graduates are going to be successful but they ought to be given a chance to earn the spot in the first team by giving them minutes in cup games and against lesser opponents. Chelsea has been terribly bad in doing this due to some reasons such as managerial instability, lack of clear-cut vision and impatience from fans.
For every Noble, there is Declan Rice and Jadon Sancho (though he is not Chelsea product I know you get my drift). CHO was given a shot but his integration was too slow likewise Loftus-Cheek, Loftus-Cheek should have been integrated longtime ago and we would have been spared the mistake of Yoko.

When Sarri leaves Chelsea which is most likely to be the case this summer, won't it be good if we hand over the reigns to Lampard since he knows what it means to play for the club? Diego Simeone, Pep Guardiola, Simeone Inzaghi, Zinidine Zidane, Antonio Conte, Niko Kovac are club legends who have done well managing their former clubs.

Your useless jpg was showing their career stats and you are bringing Ronaldo's one year stats. No correlation whatsoever.

Ozil 2006 till date tell us how many league and European titles are there to back up your useless stats.
You discounted his stats as baseless because he won no European titles and league titles with them despite him winning the World Cup whilst scoring and assisting in the process, then I brought a season where CR7 won no majors but had massive personal achievements.

Instead of you to tell us the number of league titles and European titles won by Ozil since 2006 with his useless assists, na insult this one dey bring.

Typical shekpite.
Unless a player wins a team trophy so his personal achievements are useless right? Logic is lost you. There was this particular year C.Ronaldo won World Best despite his team not winning a major trophy according to you that award should have been given to shaku-shaku Iniesta since his team won UCL

Ozil dropping assists for a less ambitious club like Arsenal, but was surplus to requirement @ Madrid. The day he was sold, Madrid won 4 UCL in 5 attempts.

Ozil has been playing club football since around 2006. Tell me how many league titles he won or European titles with all these useless assists.

It's one thing to drop assists against minnows. It's another thing to ALWAYS choke in important games.
sharrap Özil won trophies with his assists stop calling them useless.

DE Lima has 2 world cups. That's greater than 4 UCLs. Remind me the number of league and European titles Ozil won with all those useless assists.
Özil and Iniesta are both attacking-midfielders they are judged via assists and goals contribution not shaku-shaku that Iniesta is known for.

[quote author=Greatihex post=79249077]conte is a winner and can transform an average team to a winning team. But, he can build a team if the winning pressure is not there.
Conte's tactic is not physically demanding, only his training sessions.

The only problem i have noticed in conte is his lack of ability to identify quality players that are not yet proven[/quote ok
