This is the plain truth.

If you're going to be in a relationship, define it, a situationship (where nobody toasted the other or made their intentions clear, Una just dey deceive unasef dey shag. Until you ask, what are we? And get the biggest sock of your life).

Is it for marriage, is it for shagging, is it so you are not lonely?

Define it and make quarterly review.

That way, if it's not heading where you want, end it with your full chest.

In all, shun fornication, e no dey pay, especially as a woman.
You certainly do have intelligent thoughts about relationship matters. If you're not one already, you should consider being a relationship coach.

This is why cooking is a survival skill and not a gender role.

May God help me bring up my kids differently.
Cooking became a gender role in days past because finding food (or making money) for the family was a gender role -the role of the man. It's indeed a very commonsensical, logical and sensible idea to establish a sort of division of labour between who finds the food and who cooks it.
But now that finding food has become less restricted to the male gender, cooking should be less restricted to the female gender too, for fairness sake. Unfortunately, long-established, deep-rooted cultures are difficult to change.

I'm a little disappointed you have this opinion. If we "leave matter" (as we've always been doing until the #endsars nationwide protest), na then gangan the leaders will continue to laugh us and take us for foools.
Even the endsars protest you referenced clearly shows what we could achieve when we use the social media to unanimously agree on the course of action to take to change any social or political situation.
The endsars protest could have completely revolutionized the whole corrupt system in the country if it was planned a little more strategically and cautiously.

Well to be honest, I feel everyone should be able to gauge chemistry. You should be able to know when a girl really likes you.

If communication is strained... she's probably not feeling you.

If you always beg to see her... she's not feeling you or there's someone else occupying her time and mind.

If she starts on from the get-go with billing - high chance she dates people primarily for financial gratification.

In the way you're getting to know her, if she's not also deliberately trying to know you - high chance she doesn't put much thought into dating and just says yes to almost anyone who asks her out.

People should be intentional about dating... before the relationship starts, and during the relationship.
Every point you have made is very sensible and I'm beginning to think you might be a relationship expert (are you?). If you don't mind, I want to seek your wise counsel on this matter:
If after "gauging chemistry" (to use your words), a guy realizes that a girl he loves so much doesn't like him, is he supposed to give up on her just like that (and look for some other girl that would like him) or is it wise for the guy to try different approaches to get the girl to like him (or at least, agree to be with him)?

Hmm... What a life! Tomorrow it might be your turn or my turn. Having been born, death is a debt we all MUST pay.
Every day of our life, we should live with the consciousness that death can come at any time.
Don't be greedy. Don't amass wealth and possessions unnecessarily (it's vanity!). Help those who don't have instead. Spend quality time with your friends, family and loved ones while you still can. Be kind, be generous, be loving, be forgiving and be good to all.
The clock is ticking and your time will be up sooner or later!
RomanceRe: At What Point Do You Give Up On Chasing A Girl by amrichy(m): 6:36am On Apr 13, 2021
PrimadonnaO:
See, first develop friendship with a girl. Give her a reasonable amount of time to get to know you.

Depending on the quality of communications you have, a month or 3 months max should suffice. If she's begun to like you, then trust me she's patiently waiting for you to ask her out.

Then you clearly ask her out.

If she tells you no, and the reason is not because she has a boyfriend already or she just got out of a relationship and needs some time to let wafer flow under the bridge before starting a new relationship, then please quit chasing, because she saw the question coming and has prepared for it.

*********
You can decide to hang around and strengthen the friendship so you ask again another time, but the chances of her stance changing is quite low, and you may simply end up investing more resources on a wild goose chase.

P.S This only applies to quality babes, not the ones who;

play hard-to-get for a living,

or the ones who think they should give any guy that asks them out a try.

or the ones who say yes because their birthday is close or they want to bill you for a new phone. grin
This is quite an intelligent opinion. But then, how do you know if a girl's response to your proposal is genuine or motivated by ulterior reasons? How do we distinguish "quality babes" from non-quality ones?

AsherAmari:
Now, I'm scared.

ive actually seen this happen in so many homes and it's the men that first start dousing the fire of love in marriage. They'll start by going to viewing centers or a friend's place to watch soccer, leaving the woman all alone at home. Before you know it, the gap is formed. The Interest in each other drops and you begin to see yourselves as siblings or biz partners.

It sucks.
This is what you have to understand: no matter how much your man may love you, there will be other things he also loves (his friends, family, job, hobbies etc.). So you should not expect him to devote all his time and attention to you alone. If you really love him, you should not mind him engaging in different things that he loves and which make him happy (how about even going out with him once in a while to watch his favorite football matches with him and his friends?).
And of course, he his also expected to reciprocate this gesture.

do you think there is a difference in mode of spending btw loans fr bank & personal savings ?
NO! The source of the money (whether it is a loan, personal savings, gift, inheritance or even stolen) should normally not cause any significant difference in the "mode of spending". Your needs and wants should be the factors determining how you spend your money.

You need to read this book to understand the causes of inflation and deflation and how government needs to keep a balance especially after devaluation of our Naira like a thousand time already.

If government prints money for infrastructure, etc as you pointed out? Are people not responsible for the man power? People that are going to be paid for work done? This means more money will be in circulation, and that means the bar raises high for inflation and will affect other sectors of the economy. That includes but not limited to the government’s ;

Money and monetary policy
Federal reserve
Interests rate
Fiscal policy and taxation

Conclusion: It is possible for any government to print money, but the consequences are far reaching! It can lead to total collapse of government taking us to pre historic times.
But actually, the question the OP asked is about BORROWING from another country versus PRINTING your own money. Like most other people who attempted to answer the question, you only focused on the printing part. Could you also expatiate a little on why borrowing is preferable?

Stundey:
Let me try

Caveat: I am not an Economist.

Naira is spent only in Nigeria.

We rely on outsiders for infrastructural development. It is always the Chinese or the Lebanese handling projects...

Most equipments would be sourced for outside Nigeria (in case of big projects). Naira can't be used in getting them.

We are consumers nation, we produce nothing. Inflow of dollar is low compared to the outflow.

And the Nigerian government has always complained about low Forex, yet they're not doing anything on it.

They capped monthly usage of dollar on debit cards at $100 to ensure we are not "wasting" the little dollars they have for the obvious reason.

...and there are worst examples on why producing more money would be a bad idea, they call it Hyperinflation. It happened in Germany, it happened in Zimbabwe. They all thought they could solve their economic woes with more funds. As a result, barrow-load of money found it difficult to buy mere bread.

An average man is extravagant in nature. He tends to abuse what he has in merry.

Check the scammers (so-called Yahoo boys) around you, you see how they live their lives each time they "hit"? That's exactly how an average man would live if he has "the money".

A free flow of money in merry would mean most people would cease to work. Why do I need to work when I already have the money? The little production we enjoy on basic stuffs would drastically reduce along with it.

...
Thanks a lot man. It's all perfectly clear to me now. Let me summarize what I've learned:
1. Nigeria can only print notes in naira currencies and these can only be spent here in nigeria. We cannot use the naira notes we print to procure/buy goods (or services) from other countries.
2. The naira notes we print must be carefully regulated so it does not become surplus and lose its value consequently (this would lead to inflation).
3. To get goods and services from foreign countries, we need foreign exchange (dollars majorly). And because we import a lot of goods and services from other countries, we need a lot of dollars too.
4. Normally, we earn dollars when we export the locally produced goods to other countries (dollars is the most accepted legal tender/currency for international trade). Unfortunately, we import more goods than we export so there is usually a deficit of foreign exchange (dollars particularly).
5. The deficit in our dollars reserves makes it necessary for us to borrow as we need to buy many essential things from other countries.
So i guess the long and short of it is that we print naira and borrow dollars; we spend naira locally and dollars internationally.

To print a 32page Nigerian Passport costs between 50-100US dollars.

Most things we receive from International communities are subsidized, since we produce NOTHING. I mean NOTHING apart from crude oil and YAMS.
In Fact, EDUCATION & HEALTH in Nigeria are Free.
To extract a Tooth in the US costs 1k dollars.
Meanwhile same procedure costs 7k in Naija using the same Machine.
Although it would have been far better if our politicians derive services from same Education & Hospitals.

Materials are involved.
Machines are involved.
Manpower is involved.
Expertise is involved.
Power is involved.
does it cost 1000 naira to print a single 1000 naira note?
i don't think the cost of printing is the problem.

When they were teaching you inflation in secondary school, you were busy eyeing girls in your class.

When currency is surplus, it loses value.
When diamond is surplus, it would lose value.

The reason why your 1000 naira is valuable is because it is scarce.
When it becomes surplus in the economy, it would lose value, and you would need more of the same money to buy goods, which means an increase in price of commodities.

The only country that can print anyhow to an extent is the United States.
The US dollar is used by every country in the world for international trade, so when the US govt pumps excess Dollars into the american economy...

.
Upon all your analysis you didn't really answer the question the OP asked. Let me paraphrase the question for you:
If nigeria needs some money, why not print that money instead of going to china to borrow it (since either way more money will be pumped into the economy)?

if government borrows 5 trillion naira it will be added to the total amount in circulation, an increase in aggregate supply without a corresponding increase in total output is dangerous to any economy. now take for instance government spends the 5 trillion on infrastructure and creating jobs, it simply means people will have more money to spend on the goods that are few(remember total output is stagnant) this will lead to inflation (increase in the general price level)
and what if the creation of jobs is done strategically to bring about the production of more goods?
and concerning the question asked by the creator of the thread, how is borrowing from another country better than printing our own money?
