This is not about religion tolerance or correctness, Jesus is the only way
If you don't believe that Jesus is the only son of the living God and that he came and die on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day then you're on your way straight to hell
There's no salvation in any other.....Jesus is LORD, today , tomorrow and forever. How about those who came before Jesus himself was born? Are they all going to hell? How about those who came after Jesus had died without ever hearing, reading or knowing anything about any fuccking Jesus? What is their fate? |

Politics › Re: Yoruba Nation Rally Holds In Akure (Pictures) by amrichy(m): 10:19pm On May 22, 2021 |
Romanoff: I wish Yoruba Nation will solve our problems but we have deeper problems than we think.
The betterment of Yoruba Nation starts with our state governors and state assemblies.
How well are the Yoruba governor's doing?
Are they not as corrupt as governors of other states?
What have they done in their current term to show you that we are ready for the betterment of the Yoruba people.
If we get the Yoruba Nation we are clamouring for, what's the guarantee that we are not going to keep recycling the same yeye leaders who are only interested in their own pockets. While I also don't have much faith in the Yoruba nation (because of corruption factor, which is the major cause of our numerous problems), I think its formation might make things a little better than what we are presently experiencing in Nigeria. The following are a few of my reasons: 1. As Yoruba nation will be relatively small (compared to the present overpopulated Nigeria), governance will also be easier. (It's always easier to manage a smaller entity than a bigger one!) 2. The splitting up of Nigeria into different nations will invariably bring about some sort of "healthy" competition among the new nations as each will try to outperform the others, thereby putting the respective leaders of the nations under great pressure to perform to their very best. This would ultimately lead to development in different areas (infrastructure, economy, education, job creation, health etc) 3. The people will be much more united (as they now belong to the same tribe or at least very close tribes) and their patriotism will increase (as it will be easier for them to see the Nation as their fatherland). This stronger unity and increased patriotism should help the growth and development of the nation. 4. In line with point 1, the smaller Yoruba nation will also be easier to secure. Terrorism and banditry will certainly not be part of our society (they are things of the north). Fulani herdsmen palava will be over and kidnapping will greatly reduce. It is really my wish that all the regions in Nigeria can coexist peacefully and work together to make the country great, but I'm not sure that's ever going to be realized considering our past together and the present situation of things. It seems like it can only get worse. If after about 107 years of almagamation and almost 61 years of gaining Independence together, we still are not so united, it's not a bad idea to try going our different ways. But as you have expressed, I'm afraid nothing much will change if we do not first exterminate the cankerworm called corruption and know how to hold our leaders accountable for their misdeeds. |

SegFault: Well I'll give a detailed breakdown later for now let me just summarise the process of becoming a writer. 1) Get some experience. Back in secondary school, hell even in my days of primary school I usually wrote stories, so write and show the people around you, articles, short novels whatever just do some work and show it off to those around you, I could even read your work for you in case you've got no one to show. They'll help to show you mistakes and flaws in your writing. If you have some experience skip this.
2) Create a Portfolio. If you want to write books create a wattpad account, if you want to write articles, post them here on nairaland so that you'd have some work to show a prospective client.
3) Be a freelancer. It's really hard — impossible if you're Nigerian — to get clients who would physically offer you a job to work on, so become a freelancer, guru and fiverr are good freelancing sites.
Tips: please don't write directly on your phone, distraction and what not are so much so just write your drafts in a book then write it in your phone or laptop it's harder but better, more focus more productivity. Please if you don't have the experience get it, there's no such thing as talent, you must work to reach a good level. That's it. Funny enough programming has a similar path. Okay, thanks |
Politics › Re: Ahmed Isah Apologises For Slapping A Woman by amrichy(m): 3:23pm On May 19, 2021 |
Romanoff: He should have just apologized and moved on. Rather, he started dragging BBC. Claiming it's because people tune in more to his program than BBC. That's why they are antagonizing him.
The documentary BBC made about his was fairly balanced. They highlighted his good sides and the good work he does before talking about the assault on the woman.
Just apologizing would have sufficed. He actually didn't need to apologise for anything except we are implying that slapping an extremely wicked and vicious woman in public is a bad thing to do. The woman ought to have been stoned to death. Now someone just slapped her and we are calling it assault. Assault ko, somersault no! |
Politics › Re: Ahmed Isah Apologises For Slapping A Woman by amrichy(m): 3:10pm On May 19, 2021 |
Romanoff: An apology that is laced with blames, defensive comments, accusations and malice isn't an apology. Well, if you were in his shoes, how would you give an apology over something you did that you know is perfectly justifiable logically and morally (except legally)? For the Hediots those that are incapable of a civil comment, if you mention me with insults, I will school you with worse.
A highly placed man like that can destroy his life and all he has built because of anger.
That law maker that slapped the lady at a sex store, the people in power that slap citizens anyhow, na so e dey start, a fit of anger.
If not that FIDA and other NGOs blew hot on his ass, a case that should be that of child abuse could have become a law suit on assault.
Have sense if you're quoting me sha. I'm sure you've been angry over some issues before. Haven't you? Much like sexual urge, anger is a normal inevitable emotional outburst at a perceived injustice. Controlling it could prove very difficult. According to some fairy tales, even God himself got so angry that he destroyed almost the whole world. The question should really be about whether the anger (and whatever action it produces) is justifiable considering the circumstances. In my opinion, slapping a woman who burned the head of young girl for allegedly being a witch should be praised rather than being termed an assault. |

SegFault: Who cares if it's 32bit or not modern languages can even make 32bit systems use 64bit data types (C can do this) but most importantly what are your system specs, your CPU model and speed, your RAM capacity, your HDD capacity(this one ain't that important apart from swap on memory which the Os can use to extend the RAM capacity), since you are using a laptop I don't need to ask you about your GPU since you're obviously going to be using an integrated GPU given you're current financial status and tech knowledge. Besides there are many fields in programming I'll briefly advise you to try your hand in writing (books, content writing etc) because programming is almost always a disappointment for broke people. Hello bro. @ the bolded, I know you gave the OP that advice as a money- making avenue. Please I'm just venturing into programming too and I don't mind writing for money (as I'm currently broke and seriously need money for a lot of things). Offpoint1: Close up toothpaste now N500 Something of N120 six years ago. Garri used to be the cheapest commodity in Nigeria, now a whole day pay on construction site can't afford you garri.
Where I transported with N100 7 years ago, N500 can't take me there and back.
If as a single guy 100k can't meet my daily needs for a month in this current Nigeria, then I wonder how civil servants with 5 kids coping, Nigeria is dying and the youths are quiet.
I heard them saying "even if a cup of garri is sold at 5k, God will still provide for his children".... You all fail to realize that the only reason you are safe in your house, place of worship or in your workplace is because there are still people out there who can afford garri. When we get to the stage whereby 90% can't no longer afford to buy a satchel pure water, then you'll realize what humans/animal first instinct is.
Let's all keep quiet, blame and wail without action and watch these folks who by nature all have less than 20/30 years max before they join their ancestors.
Our posterity will question us, just as we question our ancestors. So what do you suggest we should do about the problem? |

Romanoff: You obviously don't know who Christians are. Ally of people parade themselves as Christians but you should research who a Christian is.
Start with a Google search of what the word "Christian" means.
About the prayers that are not answered, if not for the prayers of Christians, I wonder how worse the situation of his country would be.
Just like God said in the book of Genesis when he was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham's bargaining chip with God is, "what if you find so so so so and so number of godly people there, would you still destroy the city"?
You should equip yourself with knowledge about a subject matter before you come with criticism.
Just cause someone goes to church or tells you they are Christians doesn't mean they are.
The Bible says "By their fruits, you shall know them".
Peace. @ the bolded: Do you really believe that or you just want to defend "your" religion? |
