However, one should not confuse racism or tribalism with discrimination. They are NOT the same. Racism is an allegory. Tribalism is an allegory. Discrimination is a genuine and meaningful word. |
I have a lot of sympathy for Op. |
dazzlingd:A quick fix? Lets assume three major Nigerian Languages: Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba. (a)All Hausa speaking areas and the hinterlands are to create into their education system the enviroment whereby from elementary to tertiary institution, the Hausa language is compulsory and is used to teach all subjects. Ibo & Yoruba are elective subjects, students are to pick one. (b) All Ibo speaking areas and the hinterlands are to create into their education system the enviroment whereby from elementary to to tertiary institution, the Ibo language is compulsory and is used to teach all subjects. Hausa & Yoruba are elective subjects, students are to pick one. (c) All Yoruba speaking areas and the hinterlands are to create into their education system the enviroment whereby from elementary to tertiary institution, the Yoruba language is compulsory and is used to teach all subjects. Hausa & Ibo are elective subjects, students are to pick one. Apart from the fact that the enviroment that allows for these type of conditions to hold will sustain numerous breakthroughs often in all our daily lives, especially in the science and technology sector. Will further improve our correlation and communicational skills. At a certain point in time after the implementation of these policies into the current education system, every Nigerian that passes through the new and improved version will be versed in at the least two Nigerian Languages. Leading to a good solution in the scenarios presented in your post and further boosting the Nations productivity. |
JerryLegend:I agree with you here JerryLegend:Eventhough he isnt suppose to know that. Plain and simple, like you say, Mr Benson of a guy is just genuine and a good person. Our politicians and law makers can learn a few things here. |
Gistpeeps:God bless that the Mr Benson God bless Nigeria |
Ones school-of-thought is determined by ones geographical inheritance, there is NO short cut. Its either we face the truth NOW or forever keep our peace. For days, months and years we have invested all our spirituality into false HOPES and ASPIRATIONS. When common sense dictates that the only TRUE aspiration is one that which can actually be achieved in its entirety. There is so much to learn about ourselves and surroundings yet we are being taught NOT to think; what kind of psychology beats continuity. We dont need to be saved by anyone or anything because God has already given that to us countless times and i dont see that stopping anytime soon. We dont need to repent because We are NOT a guilty people. We are NOT waiting for a white or tanned man to come an eliviate US from suffering because thats just NONSENSICAL if a white or tanned man was going to descend from the skies to eliviate anyone, the first people on the list would be those that look like HIM. Its not discrimination, its common sense. We dont need to face anywhere during petition but our immediate solvable problems. We dont need salvation because we were saved the day we were allowed into the world All the ethics and moral philosophy we need to navigate the planet Earth is already present in our OWN psychology. Our ancestors, heroes and saviours deserve nothing more than the best reception. What is the point in living for somebody elses goal. There is so much work to be done, and yet little effort awarded to a course. Let us invoke the spirit of OUR ancestors, in everything that we partake, We need to operate as if our world has been stolen and we AIM to re-take it. We have to snap out of this daze that we are in, it's us, we are the LIGHT of OUR world nobody else. |
Rossikk:You're 100% accurate with your analyses here, one which i certainly argree. |
Good concept Op. Hopefuly they can find us a more cleaner version. |
No, we should hand the country to an up and coming prospect. Use our vote to guide our nations future. Maintain law abiding citizen. Help Nigeria to greater heights. Ask yourself, how can i assist in making Nigeria better place for all of us. Take a part of the responsibiity for making Nigeria greater than ever before. |
EdiAbali:All of Europe took part in the Trans Atlantic campaign, as is the case with colonisation. None are spared from the tarnishing brush. Why you cant like the black people in Northern Europe? |
Colonization amounts to one of the worst attrocities the world has ever seen. |
Africa civilised the world NOT colonization. |
Op you have been lied to. |
In antiquity, there’s evidence to suggest that during a certain point in time, all humans on our planet are African; black, brown and bronze. Two distinct phenomenon occur simultaneously: (1)Geological phenomena i.e. Ice Age (2)Biological phenomena i.e African women are granted a unique special ability that allows giving birth to non-African looking offspring. These two distinct phenomenon are said to have combined to create the environment for the new ethnic groups that would later join the African on planet Earth. Africans have been existence since the dawn of time, whilst records put the current stock of Europeans and Asians in existence as of the Common Era. Now OP maybe you want to re-evaluate. According to African studies, Africans are seen as the true saviours of the world. Appreciate yourself, respect the African narrative, adopt the correct mindset; there is no limit to what anyone can achieve. |
PrecisionFx:Good. |
PrecisionFx:I hear you and wish their to be a change for the better. |
grandstar:Am just saying that there are some people that care for their animals, pets e.t.c that see things differently from those that dont have pets in their lives. Although a minority of the general public, its only fair that our concerns are put into the correct consideration. Eventhough the current laws dont challenge such conceptual behaviour, let us all codemn with one voice. |
Ignorance is only acceptable before been "shown the light". Once you have been unlocked, then you cannot hide behinde ignorance. Most of the contributors to the thread have unlocked our understanding that it isnt cool to think of cats as evil servant, rather most domesticated cats are in all reality peoples pets. And people have feelings for our pets; some have ethical and moral obligations to treat all animals with dignity and care. |
grandstar:How does a big cat in Bauchi get into the contexual debate here? Dont you realise that it invalidates the absurd and ludacris point you intent to make. Alright, you agree with the Op and his short comings, ok. Then come out and say it, instead of trying to knock our rebuke. The bottomline is that it is not nice. It is not cool. It isnt funny. What is the point? |
PAGAN9JA:They are adorable!. Bless 'em. |
gypsey:Thank you sir. Again i agree with your analyses here. Teach! |
gypsey:I agree with your analyses here. The only instance that will allow for a positive outcome in splitting is if happens all across the continent. Unless if its a continental project; a total progressive reconstruction having security, prosperity and effeciency as a mindset e t.c Most of our current laws are majorly unfit for purpose. Its in my opinion that theres a need for an altogether new intellectual debate regarding the "nuts and bolts" of our current laws. Most are archaic, out-dated and abslotuely have little content to help elivate the situation of Nigeria's "working class". There is need to re-visit our constitution and fine tune to be-fit the here and now. Why is it that if one that can afford to renovate his/her local governments library is thrown into a beurocratic nightmare that results in library not being renovated as firsr intended. Archaic laws that dont allow for the general public to assist in the development of the nations infrastructure. New laws or enhancing existing laws so as to accomodate for these concerns. The powers that be within the government structures have their chance to leave a mark on history for their next generations. Money is NOT everything. Anyone can name a few things that are more important, heres one. Having your names engraved into African history as the set of politicians that began a radical change that leads to major improvements in the political, sociological and economical situation of the Nigerian general public. (a) free education starting from day of birth (b) national service programme to start from secondary school (c) career programme to begin after secondary school (d) career programme after NYSC (e) free comprehensive vocational programme available for all ages. running everyday of the year, including saturdays and sundays. Government can easily and steadily change their ways and make reservations to afford sponsors such programmes for the next 100 years or so. |
PrecisionFx:Generically, Yoruba own Lagos in as such is part of Yorubaland in Nigeria. However, any Nigerian born and or raised within Lagos has by right of birth or long association has the exact same rights as stipulated by the constitution with respect to the State of Excellence. If you talk about constitutional rights, yes you are correct. If you claim Lagos by birth or long associaation, then, you has the same equal constitutional rights as everyone else in accordance with the law |
PAGAN9JA:Exactly, everyone reading the thread is encouraged to get on the to the intellectual vehicle towards the nations unity. Theres so much work to be done, firstly, as you eloquently elude to above: Most of our current laws are majorly unfit for purpose. PAGAN9JA:Totally agree with you here. Hopefuly in the near future the law will have to accomodate for our understandable concerns surrounding these issues. Stop the uneccessary killing of cats! |
YUNGLURD:I totally agree with the spirit of your post here. Just saying... |
YUNGLURD:If you come accross a homeless cat or any domesticated pet, feed them and move on. Or adopt and care for them if you so wish, stop killing cats uneccessaily. The guy got rid someones pet and you think it funny enough to want to try and justify his senselessness? Nobody wants a cat chasing them in their dreams i am right to assume. You both obviously dont appreciate the right for one to have pets. Pets are important for the great work they partake in both the eco system and in the physchological enhancements of our homes. Apart from the standard family, in a way, pets are sometimes seen and appreciated as a part of the family in many homes. Therefore, its common sense to want to treat all animals with respect and dignity, especially those that clearly appear as domesticated animals are to be treated more favourably still. Some pets are the loved that much, have their names added into WILLS and benefeciary documents. Cats are not servants of evil mystics! Thats a pure nonsense. Cats as domesticated animals are normally cudly, loveable, trendy and fun to have around the house. Think Again! |
If you come accross a homeless cat or any domesticated pet, feed them and move on. Or adopt them and care for them. |
Kenmatt:But that is obviously a nonsense. Unproven gibberish. Probably Eurocentric and Asiatic false assertions that gave birth to the notion in the first place. Cats are actually very good hunters of pesky anoying rodents. And are cute, cuddly and fun to have around. You affect more harm to the eco-system by killing a cat than you really want to understand. Stop killing cats uneccessarily. |
The entrepreneurs at the computer village should NOT despair, the hub is reknowned tbroughout the Nation and beyond. I see, ORDER, peace and tranquility, improvement in our current working conditions reigning supreme in and around what is in my opinion the most lucrative, aiming to become most prosperous IT hub anywhere in the world today. |
PrecisionFx:When we say Lagos is No mans land, is often correctly seen as a praise- name with respect to the hospitality and genorousity of lagosians making a cool and nice place for all Nigerians to live, work and prosper similar to places as New York, Parris, Shanghai e.t.c |
adidison:I seriously hope not. |
