HammerTheirPapa: Playing the baby factory card will not make the truth disappear. Hausaland has the highest incidence of every disease known to nigeria. They just don't report it due to their conservative nature. If Baby factory problem had been in hausaland, it will still be a secret for years.
It is easterners who are fighting the baby factory problems. How many northerners like you are fighting against child marriage and pedophilia in the north? Ar you from Ebonyi? I'm sure you don't have VVF but your denial with not help the victims who are your kith and kin. USAID have no reason to say anything false about Ebonyi, at present they have the highest prevalence of VVF in Nigeri, deal with that. |

HammerTheirPapa: The hausa and fulani region simply don't report their cases. They don't even allow their girls seek medical care. Male physicians are not allowed to examine females. Female physicians are scarce because they won't allow females go to school. Core north has THE HIGHEST VVF CASES. MANY GO UNREPORTED BECAUSE TO THEM IT IS THE 'WILL OF ALLAH' The Ebonyi cases are from the booming business of baby factories in those parts, you know how young the girls are.

lanicky: This shouldn't be so because early marriages are more common in the Northern part of Nigeria than other regions. Perhaps, it feels like they do because of more reported cases in comparison to other states. VVF was much more common in the north but campaign against it has been going on for the last thirty to thirty five years and the incidence is now lower. It is still common in the north but more common in Ebonyi state. A denial will not help you or the victims. If you have a way of helping them and you want to do that please go there. |

A possibility is fungal infection. As many well meaning people said here , your mum needs to see a dermatologist. |

Almajiri1: I'm talking to you as a fellow human being say that punishment no in any way warrant the short sleeve. Reasons : There was no established immediate threat to the life of the house owner considering there was an iron bars limiting only hands and the thief wasn't armed with a gun capable of being released through the window opening and causing bodily harm to the house owner.
The house owner out of fear over reacted. You can gauge the amount of power he applied to cut clean the hand. If sticking ones hands through a window can warrant this from the house owner, it means he has a lot of repressed issues that might need psychologist to fine tune. What if the thief was a friend or family member trying to play pranks on him?
When I was in Nigeria, I saw and noticed that over 80% percent of people walking her streets are no longer human beings. I did the little I was able to do to teach with examples how humans should be different from animals. some learn and turn a new leaf while some don see mugu and try to take advantage. I'm no better human than them but, Nigeria is sitting on a gun powder and any trigger to this would be catastrophic! Too many problems plague Nigeria and nigerians simultaneously yet nobody is talking. I have neither justified the action of the house owner or the intruder but I saw the chance to take a swipe at some of our so called senior lawyers who are clearly what Jonathan swift described them as in his satire - Gullivers travels. As for talking about Nigeria , you obviously are talking , you have even made a study of persons on Nigerian street and discovered that 80% are not human beings. Ian simply sick and tired of the quitters who mortgage their lives to the misery of modern slavery and stigma and feel they can solve our problems and still perform well at TAHIR KFC jobs in Europe and North America. |

Those who are vehemently opposed to the recommendations of the last national confrence and would not convoke their own either, are the same people dividing the people along ethnic and religious lines. The mutual suspicion is so eloquent. A northern muslim would readily avail help to a chadian muslim than to a northern christain!
