Any paper applicant issued his/her trv after doing medics at asaaju of recent? how long did it take your medics to get to cdhc? or rather how soon were you notified that your application had been processed? and how were you contacted?

justicia: I just applied for LLM at Dalhousie University,Canada.I have forwarded all the admission requirements.However the info on the admission requirements page is that international students whose education has not been in english must provide proof of proficiency in english(i.e toefl or equivalent).So my question is since Nigeria's education is generally in english,can I assume that they know and therefore will dispense with that requirement in my case or do I still av to prove it to them.am asking because I tried to get my University to do a confirmation to Dalhousie buh they wouldn't issue one.pls advice...

You would need to contact the admissions coordinator for your program to confirm. Unfortunately some universitys insist on the proficiency exam as long as you studied outside of Canada. Take my case for example I did my 4 years in a federal university in Nigeria, I did my msc in a university in the UK ,and lived there for over 3 years but I had to write toefl to get admitted to upei, i tried to assure them that i am very proficient in English obviously with my education history coupled with membership of various professional associations yet they insisted i wrote toefl... Infact at a point ,it became sort of embarrassing cus they were like since you claim so much to be proficient in English ehn just take the test na......and so i did , and i passed it, very well! And i got the admission. ...... So my friend , just talk to the admissions team. Some are more liberal than others.

Is it ok to submit the telex copy payment ref because a receipt for my board fee is not yet available and I want to return my passport via vfs tomorrow. Meds was done on 7th Oct and I'm to resume on 1st November. I got the instruction to pay a years accommodation which I did on 9th Oct but a receipt is not yet ready.
I hope there are people who presented the telex copy as proof of payment in place of a receipt from the school and got their visa issued.

do you mean your meds results were ready and sent to the embassy in 5 working days? , how were you able to find out? And Which of the hospitals did you use abeg? Are there any other people with the same experience?

To those that did their medics at Asaju , pls how early should one get to the clinic?

I was asked to provide receipts of payment of board for one year and school fees receipts for the first year ( i already included my first year school fees receipts in my application) by the 25th of Oct latest, meanwhile my extended resumption is till Nov 1. I have to find accommodation in Charlottetown, prince Edward island and pay for one year this coming week to be able to meet up..i haven't actually heard anyone mention prince Edward island from pt 1 of this thread so i am assuming it is a very dead province....still anybody that can help out with accommodation @ pei....abeg.

@all make Una help me thank God , my med instruction came in about 45mins ago. I am so overjoyed right now. I applied June 4, paper route. Fall applicants still expecting their callups pls dont loose hope .

Canadidacy: Ma'am inas much as you're a Nigerian, VO tends to check ur docs well cos of our good name, it's better to overload dem dan present inadequate docs. Infact if I see my grand mama birth Cert I go add am to my application come march 2014.

Bros from experience it may not be better to overload them oh, its not new knowledge that the bulkier the application, the more verification to be carried out and all these verifications could lead to 4-5 months wait, you need to keep your application as simple and straightforward as possible . try not to include any unnecessary documents
however, if the online route does not require you to upload your certificates please do not include it but I think if you are applying via paper route you need to submit your certificate along with your offer letter, submitting offer letter alone, particularly for a postgraduate programme may not be a nice idea , , your transcript might not be necessary but I submitted mine anyway.

Let me even tell u my own experience.... a very good friend came to Nigeria few yrs ago... he state is his hometown in Anambra .... got set up by his cousins... got robbed at his house ..he narrowly escaped with gunshot wound... his other cousin staying with him got killed during the robbery...fortunately Police catch dem thieves who later confessed.... he was treated badly at the hospital and he later managed to go to the Canadian Embassy... from Lagos... no word of a lie...he was placed on the next flight to Canada...his flight fully paid for by Canada and as hin dey land Pearson... ambulance was there to pick him up with Police to take report....imagine.... I weep for Naija...

can you imagine? You dont need to tell me that the guy will regret embarking on that trip. I have always been an advocate of quality of life over quality of bank account, while the typical naija society / mentality preaches the exact opposite. The guy is lucky he escaped with his life.God help/bless Nigeria.

(My files was on an ext4 logical partition (Two bad recipie ext4 + a logical volume = Nightmare for recovery).

Also my medical instruction came in like two hours ago. I was with a client and he needed to check his mail and it just occurred to me to just check mine and there it was, containing mu UIC and medical attachment.

Of a truth God is indeed great, for me this is an opportunity to get fulfilled, start over, study what I've alway wanted.

A friend of mine, a silent follower also got her trv dis afternoon.
She applied on 23rd of May. Medics call-18th, did medics. On 20th, and got trv 25th.
Our God is indeed awesome, medics and trv within a week
.when God is involved, Protocols wld be broken for Our sake!
She's resuming immediately, schl gave her till monday 30th. To God be the glory.
All medics and trv awaitees, hang in dere, with God all things are possible!

If this is how you respond to criticism as mild as the one put forward, then I feel very sorry for you.

i am not so old but i dont think you need to be a professor to know that you do not get automatic scholarship just because you got a 2.1 , other factors come to play e.g your field of discipline , your actual GP, availability of funding in the programme you have applied to, when you submit your application because in most cases there are deadlines, availability of faculty interest in your proposed research area etc. and then again I did not fault you I simply gave a mild word of caution to the house including myself.

I also wonder what type of person would have worked hard to make a 3.2 strong 2.2 knowing he has the chance to beef it up to a 2.1 with a session to go , but then chooses to be happy with the 2.2 Scholarship or no scholarship.

I also do not understand how your saying " do not fault me on this" gives you the right to give out misleading information. truthfully I think you talk a lot and also have an issue with correction ....bad combo.

I would really like to know the process of submitting additional docs to the embassy directly. I'm not sure there's a the space for adding additional docs on d inquiry form, peeps that have been there recently should pls confirm.. i know about withdrawal of application though. I'm not sure that just sending emails are enough here. This one they've started calling winter applicants for meds.

i beg to disagree with u bros, this jumping move by cdhc is not a new thing... it has happened several times even where supervisors did not send any email.
