Bori state or not, any attempt to Include Obigbo (Oyigbo) or any Igbo community in Rivers state to the proposed state will be resisted. No further balkanisation of Igboland.

Let the Ijaw protect themselves. Thats the problem with Igbos, we dont learn from our history and be proactive. We always react. We should we worry about somebody elses problem? thats why we are where were at today.other tribes worry about the good of their own and dont care about another tribe. Our stupidity of big-heartedness is what getting of screwed all the time.

Look how Ohanaeze allowed Saro-wiwa uninvited to come in their meeting after all the humiliationing articles he wrote about igbos in his newspapers, to say the lesscand worked against the independence of Igbos. Until his people started to suffer and be killed then thats when he new Mr. Big Bad Igbo man was a loving person and he needed then. They welcomed him which was dumb. If they were going to let him in,it should have been to set him up and further destroy his cause or they should have turned him away. I know it sounds harsh but that how you get respect without shedding blood.

Asari Dokubo, although i personally dont thing he is too anti-igbo, did the same thing. When the time came for the niger delta militants to give up their arms or face annihilation by the nigerian goverment through the army, asari dokubo went in newspapers at relayed how they(Ijaws) need the help of the igbos, that they have the know-how, and so on, When they are getting their behinds nailed or are about to then thats when they run to the Igbos then after they are back on a good leverage of playing ground they screw the same igbos that helped them.

We need to learn from our past.what ever is happening to another tribe, apart from the Ibibios, so be it, let their chineke help them!
@Chyz, I think you are a little bit harsh here. In Igbo culture, when you have a visitor, you serve him kola nut whatever the case may be. If someone has come to marry your sister with Manya, whatever the case, the manya will be drank. That is Igbo culture for you. Ohanaeze were right to welcome Ken but they refused his demands.

What do you mean? There was nothing on the site where Port Harcourt is today, the last map shown shows that.
Port Harcourt sprang up in 1914 as an outlet for coal mined from Enugu. The British acquired land from Igbo chiefs of Ikwerre stock mostly and some Okrika chiefs in 1913.

I hope you realize that igbos are not under some sort of monarchy.
I do know that, but individualy or collectively, we should say no to Ijaw humiliation by those guys.
CultureRe: The True Extent Of Alaigbo (Igboland) by AndreUweh(m): 1:42am On Sep 04, 2010
@Chyz: I think Ndigbo should be there to protect the Ijaws when attacked by other super-powers in Nigeria regardless of our minor understandings with them. Before the union of England and Scotland, the two groups fought against each other with intense hit.  But if Scotland was attacked by Norway or any of the Scandinavian nations, England will join the war on the side of Scotland.
Ndigbo should rice up against assault to our Ijaw neighbours by those other large two.

EzeUche22:
War is what unites the Igbo. We seen the greatest unity during our period at war then in anytime in our history! We need something to unite our people.

The Ijaw can be the perfect scapegoat. Their aggression has not gone unnoticed.
I say no to aggresion. Looking at the photograph of Jaja you posted earlier on, you will realise that the Igbo has lost a lot to Ijaw culture in Rivers state. Those descendats of Jaja no longer wear Igbo traditional dresses, but Ijaw with English hats, Igbo children are not allowed to to read and write Igbo in the schools in Rivers state. No higher institution of learning in Rivers state has dept of Igbo language yet 3 million Igbo people are in Rivers state.
In Delta state, Ndigbo constitute 35-40% of the population, yet Igbo language is thought in Igbo areas, Delta state TV has Igbo news and programmes as well as their radio station. Even the college of education at Agbor has one of the best depts of Igbo language in Nigeria.
I think Ndigbo should look into this areas I have mentioned.

Obiagu1:
They identify with Ijaw, I think you should know why – Ikwerre would have done the same if they have a tiny trace of Ijaw amongst them. The truth is that, unlike Igbos which claim towns that are Igbo speaking and have a clear Igbo majority and were historically Igbo, Ijaws claim any town that has a tiny number of Ijaw mix, have fishing culture and whose language is not Ijaw (to them if 2 or 3 words are Ijaw, then they are Ijaw not minding whether the grammar is Ijaw or not or whether it is in any way mutually intelligible).
Do you know they equally claim Ogoni? I’ve seen it in some Ijaw websites.

So forget about the claims of today, tomorrow might be different.
You are right.  Some of them claim that they have Ijaws in Abia state and that Ndoki was initially Ijaw.  Prior to the creation of Bayelsa, all the groups south of Imo and Abia states were regarded as Ijaw by the Ijaws, despite the fact that Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Etche, Ndoni etc are Igbo groups.
That is why some of them claim they are 13 million in number.

I should write my name lol. Well its Dede1. I'm not from Obingwa, and if you were from there, you'll know that the name Emeka, originated chiefly among Anambara dialect groups and not Ngwa grin

See, presenting "orji" can be learned on Youtube. You could bet I wont write page after page online about the true extent of the kola nut, despite the fact that it's an important symbol for various groups in West Africa, particularly Igbo. Your post just adds to the delusion that Igbo people still continue to have in the scheme of things. Today we are talking the true extent of Igboland, when you can't comfortably get from "Obingwa" to Umuahia without fear of armed robbery. So let's include the serious and relevant with the fantasy and "feel good".
Please do not display further stupidity here. No one has a monopoly of starting a thread. Do you have nacrotic fingers that can not enable you start a thread on fear of arm robbery?. It is an outright stupidity from your own part to tell forumites what they ought not write. Mind you it is against forum rules to post off topic. Let me not warn you again.

So beneli has been reading posts on Nairaland and never commented on the issue of Ngwa this, Ngwa that I’ve read on this site that to me seemed very annoying and divisive and promotes further division along clans?
Anyway, I’ve decided not to give any audience by way of replies to the propagator as I have my reservations about his background and ethnicity who to me is simply an attention seeker thru cheap popularity.

I’m moving on too, back to the topic “the true extent of Alaigbo”.

Dont blame the ogonis. if it is being considered good. Blame the ikwerre because they are the ones fighting against igbo being taught in PH schools. If you go to rivers today. U will see that the ikwerre are even ashamed to speak their own igbo in public.they are trying so hard to be accepted by the ijaw. They even try to dress like them and they just look so dum lol smh. Wen u go to the famous PH seafood market, when they hear igbos speaking they keep quiet and speak english but when u bargain a price with them and the price that they give u is not good, when u begin to walk away lol then thats when they will start speaking in igbo to you and say they are igbo. But the funny thing is that they dont know that those other igbos can tell they are of ikwerre extraction. Anywayz wen it suits them then they know they are igbo, when it doesnt then they are Ikwerre. Any igbo person thats been to that Sea market in PH can attest to what i just said.
Not all the Ikwerre people act likewise. My wife is Ikwerre, and yet she is a proud Igbo, her Ikwerre family are proud Ndigbo. There is a very high level of Igbo consciousness going on in Ikwerreland at the moment. Nothwithstandingly, help is required in that region.
