Umunnem na umunnam, ajujum bu: onwu Oliver de Coque na onwu Michael Jackson kee nke ka nwute? Biko zaa na asusu Igbo. (which is more painful-M. Jackson's death or Oliver de Coque's death?). |
@totoeater. do you know the difference between a laguage and a dialect?. In case if you do not know, Ukwuani is just one of numerous dialects of the greater Igbo language. There is no need for the Ukwuani people to copy Rivers State method where every community is an ethnic nationality. I am sure you would not want to have Abor, Kwale, Obiaruku ethnic nationalities. It does not matter how people end their speeches. Some Isinweke people end their speeches with 'KWINU' yet they do not disclaim Igbo. A friend of mine from Ukwuani area wrote to me on how his brother lost his life with other Igbo people during the last Jos crisis. You should be concerned on how to tackle situations as that collectively as Igbo people. |
Maazi Uwem, ndewo ANDRE UWEH no be Calabar o!. But a proud Igbo man with roots on both sides of the Niger River. Anwunoo. |
On a very serious note, due to modernisation, ugba trees have been greatly decimated. Ugba trees are been cleared to give rooms for building of offices, stadiums, factories, schools etc. Development of towns is a good idea. But there should be a way the two can stay side by side. We have to preserve our natural heritage. As a consequence, NdiIgbo in nairaland can send a high-powered message to the govt and to Amb. R. Uwechue. What do you think?. |
Nairalanders, shall we with one voice urge igbo legislators to come up with laws that will preserve ugba trees from facing extinction. The govts have cut down the trees due to road construction, electricity poles and so on. What do you think?. |
One elderly Okwuohia mad man who displays his game at Etiti said that he will not say any thing to the man behind him with a cutlass until when he can not see his head any more. Ndi Ika, Etiti (Ihitte/Uboma/Obowu) Igbo worldwide kwezuonu. |
IGBO PROVERB. eka ekpen kwo eka ihien, eka ihien akwo eka ekpen. When the left hand washes the right hand, the right hand washes the left hand. Igbo Kwezuooo. The above proverb is an Ika-Igbo proverb. It is an established fact that there are many dialects in Igboland (Igbo na su n'olu n'olu). Ika is one of the numerous dialects of NdiIgbo. Please, let every Igbo see Ika as Igbo and every Ika likewise. Chukwu, Oselobue gozie Ndigbo nile, ndigbo ncha, ndigbo dum. |
Some ukwuani people are making themselves minorities in Nigeria when in actual fact they are majority and Igbo. |
isinweke-ihitte/uboma (etiti) si ghi anwunooo. |
IGBO means ndi na EGBO mkpa. Those who solve problems or those who solve their peoples problems. Egbo later changed to Igbo. Igbo people are actually problem solvers. |
Good idea. Erosion menace is a top priority. Erosion menace is a serious threat to Igbo culture as some of our cultural grounds has been split open or completely turned upside down. For example some of the market places where cultural festivals naturally takes place-Iwa akwa, Agu okonko, mbomuzo etc are in serious danger. Secondly, if erosion menace is unchecked, one day we will find out that some communities no longer exist. |
Also, What is the meaning of Ukwuani or Ukwani. Ukwuani is it Igbo, Bini or Urhobo?. |
My good people of Nairaland, please I want to know which denial rate is higher. Ilorin denial of Yoruba or Ndokwa denial of Igbo. Thank you |
In today's Nigerian context, the Ukwuani are 100% Igbo. What does Ukwuani mean?. The meaning will tell you whom they are. Though there were different migration patterns of people into Ukwuani for example from Nri, Bini, Urhobo etc, but the aborigenes are Igbo. |
You may choose one of the following: UREDI OMASHIRIDI UGODI OGBEDI ENYIDIYA EGONDU NWAKAEGO EGONACHI EGOBEKE or EGOYIBO Please let me know if you need more as I am glad you are looking for Igbo names to choose from. |
