naptu2: Great citation. However, despite how much I loathe Trump and everything he stands for, I don't agree with the original judgement. Social media is like an open diary, everyone should have the right to block whomever you want. |
Obankulu:A good point you brought out. One had forgotten how he use to do this in Lagos every term. Even Niccolo Machiavelli would be in awe, saying "ah ah, Baba you do too much". But truely, I do not pity Shettima at all. |
Host78:Glad to know we still have good landlords in Nigeria. OP, you are quite a lucky man and it's quite unlikely your next landlord will be this nice, so open your eye. In fact I am sure it because of his niceness, that his tenants are owing NEPA as I doubt that meter is running so fast only because its on Band A (there is probably also debt loaded on the meter). |
Wow, the spambot has really scarred this thread. |
Racoon:I have said it many times, our judges and lawyers are something else and are one of the main fuels for this corruption strangling this country. If you read the full judgement, there is one part where the two corrupt judges turn themselves into accountants calculating that his legitimate salary was enough to afford all the aforementioned properties...they should have also calculated whether his salary could afford flying Toni Braxton and her whole entourage down to Nigeria for his own personal birthday amusement or the money he spent on his joke of a presidential campaign run. I also wondered if these accountants considered all the millions of dollars he gave his brother in-law who is suing and being sued by him in the USA. The only judge that dissented stuck to the letter of the law by simply pointing out that all the properties were in different companies name and NONE of the companies came out to dispute the forfeiture. So I ask once again the foolish two accountant judges, are private companies assets not different from the personal assets of their owners? Are limited liability companies no longer seen as separate legal entities by the law anymore? Disgusting judgement. |
sharpwriter:Why would anyone admire two folds on neck oooo....am I missing something |
aribisala0:From inception, the original article is constructed from a poor basis and understanding of our history, this is why good macro economists refer to history....a subject matter we underrate and are struggling with in this country. Which is one of the main reasons we are doomed to keep making the same mistakes. Just imagine if the current German Chancellor did not know his history properly and could not have given Donald Trump back fire for fire when he misspoke as he always does. |
lionshare:Leave our Professor, let him continue with his funny maths and conflating exchange rate with purchasing power...adding 1+1 to get 23 ![]() By the way Professor, kindly note that the purchasing power of a $100 in the US in 1960 is equivalent to $1,080 in today's US, so please add that to your lectures when you are educating us on how BAT has destroyed Nigeria singlehandedly. |
SarkinYarki:This is why people go to school to study economics. In one sentence you claim BAT devalued naira by 130% , ok. In the earlier sentence you now claim that he alone is responsible for 80% devaluation of naira from inception, even when the earlier article (and common sense) makes it clear what they estimate devaluation to have caused relative to 1960. Well done professor, keep up the good work. |
Amitex:Nice observations but it also shows up from a Hebrew media source, so I doubt its fake. https://news.walla.co.il/item/3757805 |
mctfopt:Thanks for the warning, though this is the first time I am actually coming across his channel. As for the Na-ion he referenced, it already exists and has been sold since 2024, solely for industrial use though. A 48v 1.27kw battery that is able to deliver as much as 41kw in a minute! However the battery is not designed to run for more than 5 mins and can deliver 12.8kw a minute in that scenario. https://natron.energy/products/bluepack-critical-power-battery It's still early days, but it looks like Na-ion will have many different kind of use scenarios that will probably outstrip lithium, mainly due to how much safer the chemistry is.

jara:My brother/sister, please go and seek professional help....there is nothing wrong in admitting being currently overwhelmed. Forget about OBJ, Elon and Buhari, your life is important too. |
Creditalerts:Why did you not install the WiFi module? BTW, that inverter you have will carry any pumping machine thrown at it. Good buy. |
50,000 cycles and the ability to charge and discharge at 5 - 10C https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yhcyn_4cUc?si=Z5-DyE5tfCuR7GCe |
jara:Wetin concern OBJ for Trump and Elon matter.....this is what being a Trump fan does to people, you begin to hallucinate things. |
Creditalerts:He has answered you by telling you there are better batteries you can buy. Anyway, yes, it will carry the things you have listed as long as your pumping machine is the small type. |
2mch:This is not actually 100% true. Historians have said a few Yoruba communities also left twins in the forest. We also need to be thankful to Christianity and the likes of Mary Slessor. By the way, did I misread? How did the woman die at 115 if she was born in the 1800s? https://thenationonlineng.net/intriguing-tales-as-ondo-community-marks-end-to-killing-of-twins/ |
alphaconde:This is very correct and more people need to recognise this. With out a doubt, history has proven that this man is the true hero of Nigeria's current democracy. In fact only MKO Abiola trumps him as far as I am concerned. Think about it, a military man that chose in less than one year to do what other failed to do for almost 25 years and relinquish power without violence, force or threats. Again look at the so called democrats that followed him: OBJ after enjoying a fair initial election ensured he used state apparatus to enforce his 2nd term victory and those of his lieutenants all over Nigeria. Next thing you know, we are seeing his efforts to ensure he subverted the constitution and did a 3rd term, forgetting where we were coning from or his intial leagacy 30 years earlier! Yaradua was there too short so we could not see his true colours. However one cannot ignore the fact that he chose himself and his family over Nigeria, by ensuring that despite the fact he was too sick to rule, he would make it difficult for other competent people and leave a whole Nigeria to his wife to be making decisions!! GEJ, started off well and then went to campaign that he only wanted to finish Yaradua's 2nd term . Only for him to then change his mind and finish what his godfather OBJ started. Buhari's sin was he was always a bad loser after elections he lost, some fairly and other quite unfairly. However If he really loved Nigeria more than his ambition, he would have tried to douse tension anytime he noticed innocent people were being killed for his mandate that eventually ended up not changing much for the common man he claimed he fought for. And finally, BAT, well we can see clearly that after only one year, all his cohorts faced squarely 2027 and are making it clear, in words and in actions that in no way should anyone even let the thought cross their mind that there is a vacancy in Aso Rock till 2031! These 4 people were the beneficiaries of the sacrifice by General Abubakar....and few can dispute that these 4 people are very representative of the typical Nigerian behaviour. Thank you again sir and you will definitely be remembered properly by us that take history seriously. |
I seriously think that for some threads, especially threads like this that share knowledge, where the participants police and moderate it properly, the Bot should be disabled. It's hyperactivity is just encouraging more of us to seek other channels where we can discuss these things freely. |
It is extremely wrong and in bad taste for a sitting president to allow things be named after him. It seriously lacks class and decorum, especially as most of these things were conceived way before he beame president. |
LoneSoldier:You only have one BVN and are suppose to have only one NIN (but that one na another discussion). You said you used different phone numbers on the accounts One thing I will say about that is the account where you use the number that is connected to your BVN will run more flawlessly than the account where you use another number that is not connected to your BVN. This is one thing the banking and financial sector need to improve on....which is adding more than one number to a BVN like the way NIN works. |
Racoon:I am not sure what the point of this article is as both brothers are remembered for almost nothing positive. Ishaya is remembered as one of the most two faced and corrupt COAS in history, with almost none of his peers having anything positive to say about him. While the elder brother Musa is mainly remembered for violence and accusing this same Ishaya of sleeping with his wife. This is not a family to be proud of at all. |
Doubt this will make front pages in Nigeria....seeing as it's not an APC member found culpable. |
pellat: Who said the Bible is not real ?I hope you are aware that Christianity arrived more than 500 years before Islam did in Egypt. Coptic Christians are one of the oldest set of christians anywhere in the world. |
LA crew, your knowledgeable champion has arrived. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9mDB6kFE5U?si=R1kqAaTS8aBmPGWn |
AMINDA:Please go back and use a dictionary to find out what the word "technocrat" means. The rest of your writeup is ok and meaningful however the part in bold is a truth, and many of us were witnesses to it so it cannot be reinvented all because he became a governor and minister. Aregbe's downfall in respect in Yorubaland is because he showed little respect and gratitude to his elders no matter if he is disagreeing with them. Are Fashola or Fayemi on good terms with Tinubu, are other Yorubas insulting them daily? A "technocrat" that sings songs in the open about an old man who happened to be his benefactor pissing himself, it is so un-Yorubalike that it disgusts me anytime I think about it...a man of over 60 showing Gen Z behaviour, na real wa ooo. |
asfrank:Not sure you can use the invasion of Iraq as an example of this. Don't forget it was George Bush Snr that won a war with Iraq in less than a week and decided against invading proper and regime change. So most people feel his son decided to invade Iraq proper and go one step further than his father by completing regime change....which if you look back at history of kings and their successors makes a lot of sense. So though Dick Cheney might have supported the war, Gerorge W had personally more to gain by starting and finishing it the way his father failed too. |
Two people that made up their mind to destroy the world as we know it and murder sleep have now turned around to destroy themselves........ ....Thank you Baba, we truly serve a living God!! ( 2 Chronicles 20 1- 29) |
obinna58:You have not seen enough it seems. @ OP I was also told it was because of the heart long ago but apparently there isn't much scientific evidence to back it up as being the cause. |
An impressive record by Forest, seeing as they've won the league only once and won the European Cup twice! Also they are the only team to play more than one final and win all.....basically they have never lost a final. |
madridguy:There was obviously something he ingested in that Canada that is still worrying him till today. Though it seemed he had more sense when that his Jamaican wife was around sha. |
omotoda:Well if one can finally get details on a cell level, it's pretty welcome and should push up their sales. |
