I love him. He knows his real country, not the country of his birth. I have nothing against the UK, but blacks are not originally British. And many of them in the UK are slowly realizing that cool : cool.
However most of Skepta's fans are British and not necessarily Nigerian British self.

Its all political and I think the Left in UK and USA tend to overdo things too much honestly....that's how they create Trumps and Kemis.
CelebritiesRe: Interesting Exchange Between Skepta And A British Man by AndroBlaze: 2:29pm On Jun 30, 2025
I think the British guy was upset, thinking probably Skepta was bigging up the Palestinian flags and also the absence of anyone proud to be British.

Though everyone knows Skepta is a proud Yoruba boy, he should however be mature enough to realise that it does not make sense to distance himself from the country that made him who he is, and that's Britain, not Nigeria.

Make una epp me abeg, my ogas
You should be fine as long as cabling and so on is done properly as what you are doing is pretty modest. Seeing as this is a slow day on here, I'll quote the best post from diysolar on this:

Overpaneling is the practice of putting more panels on one charge controller than it's rated for in terms of wattage. When overpaneled the maximum voltage should NEVER be exceeded under any environmental conditions (light and temperature, primarily), but the maximum wattage can be. So your unit has a maximum charger capacity of 4000W. If you put 5000W of panels on it, but they could never exceed the maximum voltage, then it would be considered overpaneled.

First:
There is no guarantee that the MPPT controller in the inverter will be fine with over paneling. Growatt does not provide documentation or advice regarding this practice, but they do not specifically forbid it in their manuals. You are on your own, and while I haven't heard of anyone having warranty issues with over-paneled Growatt inverters, I suppose they could deny coverage for that reason.

Second:
Many, many, many people and companies overpanel Growatt MPPT controllers. Whether it's because they live in a sun-poor area, or have to mount their panels at suboptimal angles, or they just want to use the inverter at its maximum power all the time, it's a very common and generally safe practice.

Third:
The MPPT algorithm starts at the unloaded voltage with 0A of current. It starts to draw current, which due to the way solar panels work, will naturally cause the voltage to drop. It will increase the current in steps until it finds the maximum power point OR it reaches its own internal maximum power limit. So a 4000W charge controller that's overpaneled to 5000W with 5000W of solar power actual available (cold, sunny day) will stop increasing its current draw once it reaches 4000W of power. If the solar panels increase their power, it will reduce the current, if they reduce in power it will continue to adjust the current until the MPP is found. It continues to adjust the current draw throughout operation to maximum power input and keep under its own power capacity limits.

So, in general, the MPPT algorithm protects the charge controller from damage due to overpaneling. However...

Four:
From an electrical engineering standpoint there is likely to be a limit due to the algorithm itself, and the components chosen for the circuitry. A 4000W charge controller with an operating range of 120A to 250A would expect no more than 35A at the lowest operating voltage and the highest power input, and perhaps they only have a 10% margin so they choose a 40A transistor. The algorithm starts by turning the transistor on, and if a customer decided to overpanel significantly it might instead see 120A. Because they chose a slower processor and can't detect the fault fast enough the transistor, coil, capacitors, and other parts may fail.

They don't tell us what their margin is, or give us any maximum solar input current. Growatt gives a "Maximum solar charge current" but that, non-intuitively, relates to the maximum current it will supply to the battery at the battery voltage (48V), not the current it can accept from the solar array. It's used to help size the batteries (if your batteries can't accept this much current it can damage them).

I believe they know and accept that since you can't perfectly match solar panels to charge controllers then many installations will be slightly over paneled, particularly since most of the time the solar panels will not be pushing their maximum current. Further, other parts of the circuity will prevent or delay high instantaneous currents, and other parts of the circuitry can protect the overall charge controller from this sort of situation. So there is a margin, and the margin is significant.

Five:
Using your charge controller at its maximum ratings wears it down more quickly than using it at a lower power output. If you always run 4000W through the 4000W solar charge controller, it simply won't last as long as one run at 50% of its capacity most of the time, and at capacity only 5% of its time - which is typical for solar equipment. Further, it can handle faults better when it's at a reduced capacity than when it's running at full capacity.

Summary:
Overpaneling
- generally works and is safe as long as the other requirements are met.
- is generally not guaranteed to work by manufacturers beyond small amounts due to typical system sizing mismatches
- will reduce the lifetime of the charge controller
- will probably make the charge controller more susceptible to small faults
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/can-i-over-panel-a-growatt.58714/

The good things I heard about overpaneling with Growatt was one of the reasons I went for their brand (yet to overpanel though). There is even a guy their claiming he had 23kw connected to my 5kw inverter with no issues lol.

Yes totally agree Mr Reeds the better. However, when budget is limited one has to be realistic about ones wish list. At 800+ am already over my set budget.

With 25.6v 280ah cells likely rating is 7168wh, at 80% DOD its about 5734.4wh available which is still great. 6000 cycles promises about 20 years, at 5years am happy with a depreciation cost of about N550/day(thats not bad at all for stable energy in nigeria today.)

Am repurposing the quanta batteries to power low power devices so not getting rid of them just yet.

Thanks a lot appreciated.
No problem, though you hardly need to worry about DOD with lithium (it's how fast you charge and discharge it that affects life more) so enjoy your guaranteed +7kw.

Oh and just checked an email they sent me earlier this year, it was exactly 800k...hope that helps when you contact them.

Thank you so much for pointing this out as it really solved my confusion and put my thoughts in order.

Am coming from a place of having to consider replacing 2 quanta 200ah batteries at almost 1million shocked angry which to me was ridiculous even though they were durable, 3kw would the max borderline one could squeeze out. Now compare that to 8kw Haisic at much lesser price point way more power!grin

Abeg where I fit get this!

Thanks 🙏
Go to their website and contact them directly.

However note this, Haisic don't have the kind of BMS you are looking for nor are they 100% genuine about the cells they use as shown in Dam5reey capacity video.

So expect the 8kw to do less as they are using 25.6v 280ah cells, while Mrreed sells quality 314ah cells which he can build as a 24v setup for you at a slightly higher price though.

So it is up to you. Also how many Amaron batteries do you have and are you willing to sell as scrap?

I'm really curious tho how should they market their products then, cus you're making it sound like it's wrong or something, if there's a way you think they should advertise pls do share. This is coming from genuine curiosity no hard feelings
Honesty can't be undervalued nor underappreciated, if you know you are being paid to do something, admit it. Even on YouTube and all other social media, their is a disclaimer that they will say this video or post was sponsored, the poster should have done so.

If they wanted to forcefully generate user feedback, they should incentivise genuine customers to do a review, but only one on a site, and then move on. Follow proper corporate advertising engagement and engage well known content creators is also a win with our youth of today.

But my best advice is it is word of mouth that will grow the brand and genuine user feedback which was what happened with Xiaomi and I am glad I was part of the people who always hyped that brand and sold it in Nigeria long before they came in full force....and I've known Realme for ages too and I know their budget products are very comparable with Redmi and Xiaomi in quality and ultimately value, so no need for these underhand tactics of deception if they do things right.

@ Dam5reey1 and other Gurus in the house, please i seek advice.

i need to replace my quanta batteries on a 4kw/24v hybrid inverter, am looking of getting a Lithium battery pack. However i have a strained budget of #600k. i need a minimum of 3.5kwh, would have wished for a 5kwh. I also need wifi capability for the battery as i plan on integrating it to Home Assistant.

- Can you please suggest what i can get in this budget range?
- Would i be able to achieve 5kwh if i assemble it myself (am comfortable with electronics), even if i have to add a little bit more to achieve?

Thank you for the tremendous knowledge you share
Just like mentioned above, you'd be able to build a 25.6v 150ah battery with Mr Reed's cells for under N460k, without BMS. Probably a similar range with Valto's cells.

Haisic's 24v battery is 8kw but over your price range at +800k I think. Cworth probably have a 24v battery at 200ah, but I don't have an idea of their price.

I doubt you'll be able to get any manufacturer's battery with built in wifi for that price though. If you don't build yourself your best bet would be to get the Juntek battery monitors (though you will not be able to see information at cell level), but you can use home assistant to manage it if you choose.

KudozInteriors:
Good day Solar Gurus

I hope you still remember me and the wahala I had after being defrauded and given a 2.5Kwh Sako lithium battery instead of a 5Kwh battery which I paid for.

GOOD NEWS: I’ve gotten my brand new 5Kwh battery.

Sako CEO got involved in the matter and promised me a new battery once their container comes back. She fulfilled her promise and I collected the battery yesterday. I must say that the customer service I received from Sako was premium and top notch.

The agent who defrauded me still tried every possible means to stop the company from giving me the battery. It was full blown war. He cooked up many lies and stories and tried to make the company believe that I and my technician are the fraud but the company looked through the whole smoke and saw the truth and gave me what I paid for. SAKO has won my heart shaa and I’ll advice anybody buying from them to go directly to the company. I have their direct link if anybody needs that though.

I want to specially thank everyone here who took their time and wealth of wisdom and experience to advise me on how to go about the stuff. Your advises paid off and I don't take it for granted. Thank you sooooooo much and God bless you all. May people that matter rise up and help you when you need them.

I also want to specially thank @Androblaze and @Dam5reey for the roles they played.
@Androblaze took it upon himself to help me. We chatted and talked for long on WhatsApp on the way forward. He was always reaching out to know how far and to advise on the way forward. What a man! This issue taught me a lot and also made me believe more in humanity again. I stopped posting here since as I was advised to stop as my enemy might be reading my strategies from here too. @Androblaze, my brother, thank you sooo much and God bless you and raise people to help you when you need them.

Below is the picture of the new battery. It is way heavier and bigger than the first one.

Sincerely, I thank God that I met this beautiful community of people willing to help each other achieve Solar energy independence. I've learnt a lot here and I keep learning. THANK YOU PLENTY!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
GOD BLESS SAKO.😊

JUSTICE WON!!! 💪😃😃🎉

Congrats again chief (though we've already spoken) and I must say this saga you went through thought me a lot also.

The patience and resilience you showed is not something I believed could be rewarded in Nigeria anymore, but to God be the glory.

As for that distributor, God will still deal with him where ever he is and I'd still love if he can be identified publicly so people can stay away from him. Also just like you advised, people on here should sacrifice time to go to the main companies themselves or at least use a trusted source someone has already vouched for here.

Really delighted this has ended well and I hope more people can learn to fight the long fight (I'm still praying God gives me that kind of patience) so we can have a better society at large.

Kudos to you my brother.

On a serious note though, a 12v setup of this will make sense for those with smaller setups who don't want to do solar, as the backup can last a small flat for 3 days... and then they should have brought back light if transformer no fail.
