numericalguy:Well the quick answer to this is type A and type B are designed to serve different markets, with type B clearly targeting a more premium market. Also the pic of type A clearly shows a scancode with the words smart BMS, so I wonder why you would assume no BMS? A quick google lens scan confirms a Bluetooth BMS so no need for display when you have this. Not used the battery before so can't give any recommendations, but personally I prefer having the basics compared to "sophistication", so I'd be eyeing type A over Type B, and the cost difference will only help my decision. |
Dam5reey1:Yeah, he could have oversized his power bank to ensure that even if grid is not available for a day or 2, he is ok. 17kwh is what a bachelor without an AC could use from the grid in a week! Though the size of the inverter indicates he has load shaaa |
clevermugu:Kindly educate us on what you are seeing in "shapes" from tiny digital images that makes you say with confidence that they are lying even without reviewing more important specs like weight or even dimensions. Anyway till then, we thankfully have gurus actually reviewing these "shapes" and giving us proper findings and not hearsay . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZm4fa_GjCM?si=2o6ABqB0-iFmvuPF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohJjSSqFV6E?si=M8e1Ok4RP0oMlEkl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0_YpKKdst8?si=1XPic0G3R6fAqM8Q |
Why start a topic with the answer to the question you posed? Anyway, from my experience, the answer is , Yes. |
He said all 3 of them should retire....in a way I kind of agree but honestly I haven't seen any of the younger ones coming up looking like they are any different. I honestly wish we could import leaders from other countries! |
toscotech:This is actually a good deal and they seem to be in the country already. Is one able to communicate with the BMS? Has anyone tried it? |
numericalguy: He's referencing the maximum charge for a lifepo cell, which he puts at 3.6v, which when converted for a 12v battery is 14.4v. He doesn't believe in charging to that extent. However, most Chinese manufacturers put maximum between 14.4-14.6v, just double it to get the maximum voltage for a 24v lifepo system. As for recommendations for a 24v 5kw, why not chat up Valto? The other option is you drop the names of the batteries you are interested and people give you their experiences with them the same way we did for your inverter. |
brightk:Ah then, sacrifice a weekend and try it out yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised. |
brightk:Another thing you might not realise is that if he switches off the charging profile of that inverter, it kills the ability of that inverter to act as an automatic UPS, which I can tell you from personal experience is quite stressful for him to changeover every time NEPA takes light. At least, lets first let him worry about obtaining the battery. On the first day he can charge it up for a while and observe it directly if he has a multimeter (which everyone in this forum should at least have by now). |
brightk:Have you used a dumb indian inverter with a lifepo battery or is this another theory vs experience argument? |
brightk:Omotoda's advice was given based on the experience of using a similar inverter. So is mine. He doesn't need to worry about another charger as these inverters don't even have equalisation modes if I remember correctly. |
brightk:The advice Omotoda gave him was sound. That inverter will work fine with lifepo batteries and won't overcharge it as the charging profile is on average lower than what is needed to fill lifepo batteries. Also those buttons have nothing to do with charging but control how fast the UPS kicks in. It's still good for him though to get an external charger so that he can ensure he fully charges the battery once in a while. |
Dam5reey1:Chairman that Haisic is the one we are all waiting for ooo....and may God continue to bless your pocket for taking one for the team |
Leboska:Please do tell why EFCC is the "joke" and not your response instead |
GloryJoyeux:To be fair to Cworth, practically every other chinese company that is operating in Nigeria do this. In fact I remember speaking in person with a chinese rep of a particular company and she told me they dumbed down their products as our local businessmen insisted on it so they can make their healthy profits. My advice to anyone is to follow reviews closely and try your best to seek Chinese companies that have proper international reputations to protect and would be ashamed to have their products reviewed on social media like Youtube as substandard. I'd also advise more of us to behave like Dam5reey1 and do video reviews of these substandard products which would force their parent companies in China to think twice before they accede to the advice of our greedy businessmen and ship substandard products to our shores. |
Mavor:Speak with Fouani before you get your own installer as they claimed to a friend of mine that they will only honour warranty if installed by their installers (which is clearly illegal in my opinion ). If you stay around Lekki check the Fouani after Osapa London, they had it on discount of a few 100k earlier this year. Also note that these are lithium-ion batteries and not Lifepo and I believe people on here have already reported that their have been problems with the setup, so make sure you are able to hold Fouani to their warranty. Edit: I was banned for this earlier, this spambot sef |
This VDM sha must trend every week, maybe that is the condition of the oath he took. |
God1000:Please what Christian culture encourages you to ensure that your children must lead the church when you intend to retire. When did Jesus say this, when did Paul write this letter....please I am interested in seeing your new testament quote for this. |
Lanruze:Yes oooo, it must be EFCC's fault when a Judge refuses to convict someone who accepts that he paid his toddlers school fees from nursery to secondary school (14 years) in advance at one of the most expensive educational institutions in the world with cold hard dollars in cash ( in total I believe the sum was in millions). Obviously the judge does not know that even if he was governor for 200 years his salary would never be enough to pay that school fees in lump sum the way he did for those kids and that no normal human being can act this way unless it was clear that he knew he would not be in charge of the source of funds any longer, thus the haste. Surely EFFC and the people of Ikere-Ekiti deserve all the blame for providing such flimsy evidence and not the judges or the compromised judiciary that refuses to act on these things. Clown. |
abuzz33:No one will be able to get 80 % use from this battery after 6 years if one intends to draw fully down (cycle) that 4kwh once every week talk less of once every day. @Newbies In 2025, only buy tubular if you are confident you have steady light or you know you will have more than enough solar panels to ensure your batteries are adequately charged and never really do work. The only advantage Lead acid has is that you will be able to get good money selling as scrap, which is very likely to happen if you plan to use a lead acid battery for 3 years with daily use and inconsistent power to charge it. Lifepo is practically worthless as scrap, however it should never really become scrap in the first place as it has vampire blood flowing through it if used properly! Also if you insist on Tubular or lead acid, only buy new. If you want to buy secondhand it must be a steal and you should aim to buy slightly above scrap value. Unfortunately I cannot call 300k a steal in this situation. |
Alueheal:You need to be upfront about your full budget, your load and what you want the new system you set up to be able to do. If not you are actually wasting people's time with this piecemeal approach. Just state everything at once for the best advice. Shalom. |
Maitunbi:I also can't tell which one of the guys in the picture is him as they both look similar. At gunpoint I would choose the taller one. |
eteebanky1:Where does it say she is married? |
I had read the story long ago from the newspaper it was published in initially and since then I had come to understand the psyche of the average policeman that stands on the road. The smallest of soldiers by their training would have started to suspect something was wrong straight away with the confidence the man was using to answer them....our Police are extremely reckless risk takers. |
AKWATGOLD1:Mr AWKA, how familiar are you with Yoruba names in the first place.....kindly face your local chiefs and leave us alone with our rich History. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredrick_K%C3%BAm%C3%B3k%E1%BB%A5n_Ad%C3%A9deji_Haastrup |
Tinubuadvocate:And so.....if you are Yoruba (or even African) you should know our names fulfil the function of telling outsiders who we are (or were) or (and) where we are going or intend to be...so what exactly is your problem. Also I've never met a black Haastrup that wasn't Yoruba, so what exactly is the issue here? |
Hmmm, I'm not sure this man is a Nigerian, despite him bearing Akintunde. |
Zoha99:Please provide links or details for the vestwoods battery. Reviews on Youtube seem to suggest they are ok (at least the international model). |
bassdow:It's fine. At least MrReed has been able to give an example that appears on a credible site. One thing I know for sure is that out of every 1000 inverters you see anywhere, you will not see one that is able to accept more than one input voltage, so I am still surprised you easily maintain they are readily available and that you have come across them more than once. The point saint2ace made was where I was going i.e. we should not mislead newbies that an inverter that can meet that need is readily available so they understand the importance of setting up their systems appropriately from the onset. |
saint2ace:https://www.amazon.com/SUMRY-Inverter-Battery-Converter-Controller/dp/B0F2S56WKB Wow, still can't believe an inverter like this has been mass produced. Trying to see if I can find any video of anyone using something like this. |
bassdow:Thanks for the examples given, but none of the clickable examples are inverters that accept more than one input voltage. I was really interested in the Victron (as if anyone could do it, it would be them) but after checking their site and reading the manual it's clear that whatever model of the Multiplus you buy, it only accepts one input voltage. Same with the aliexpress links you sent that I was able to check.

. from the shape that box, e no pass 12v 100ah . people should be very careful what they buy ... 95% of all lithium battery in Nigerian market now are not real capacity.
