fergie001: Jubril Sam Okutepa is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Constitutional lawyer
Another example that proves without a doubt that politicians are not the only group of people to blame for why this country is the way it is.
Lawyers have cashed out like never before under this democracy and clearly they now believe it is their God given right and anyone that does not like it should go to hell!!
Cmanforall: If the money should be returned, NBA should make a statement agreeing to return the money to a duly elected governor. That's what I'd expect. That way, Ida's will be silenced.
On another note, this is how NBA Presidents dey cash out o. 300million , not including other donations from private individuals and companies
It is quite obvious that a small number of them pocketed that money. Totally disgraceful.
BigDickProblems: Guys just a quick question pls. I’m still learning
I’ve observed that a lot of suggestions here tells people to series their panels (even for a 12V system) which I know increases the voltage and keeps a constant current.
For example, someone suggested a series connection for 3 panels likely to have a short circuit voltage of 48V and above for a 24V system. This is more like 144V (I.e 48V*3). Sorry, but is this voltage not too much for a 24V system?
Or Will the controller limit the input voltage of about 144V coming from the panel to the required charging voltage of 27V-28V for the system?
If yes, then what happens to the other voltage? Is it wasted? If 28V is what is being used for charging the voltage and the constant current in the system is 13Amps, it means that the power from a supposed panel of 1872Watts (I.e 144V * 13Amps) is actually 364Watts (I.e 28V * 13Amps).
Please someone should kindly educate me on this, it’s interesting to know. Thanks.
The advice was given because they have MPPT controllers.
Your thinking and calculations are largely right but you are forgetting that an MPPT works by lowering voltage and converting it into required amperage. So keeping it simple and going back to the example you chose:
"supposed panel of 1872Watts (I.e 144V * 13Amps) is actually 1872 Watts (I.e 28V * 66.8Amps) (all in theory oo, and obviously MPPT must be rated over 60 amps) "
So the the angle you missed is the fact that the excess voltage is being converted into increased amperage by the MPPT. PWM controllers do not have this ability.
sleek214: Only 2 are kinda powerful. Oba of Benin and Sultan of Sokoto. Nnamdi kanu is more powerful than the two kings( Obi of Nnewi and Obi of Onitsha) in the South East. Emir of Kano used to be powerful but now it is being used to play chess by politicians....
I will actually agree with you that the 2 names you mentioned seem to be the only 2 traditional leaders Governors and Presidents cannot afford to offend.
Every time I think of traditional rulers now, I can't get the picture out of my head of Wike publicly upbraiding a traditional ruler like a baby during a public event with his fellow rulers openly laughing, extremely shameful.
Rufai is simply a morally bankrupt idiot... to think all his compromised colleagues agreed the money needs to be returned and he still has the audacity to keep saying nonsense.
This matter is so black and white that it is embarrassing.
franchasng: My brother, Head of Army of any country is done by appointment by the head of state of the country; he choose who he feels more comfortable working with for his safety, security and smooth relationship.
So there is nothing wrong with Nigeria's President and Prime Minister then appointing Maj. Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi as their preferred Head of Nigeria's Army, the position is not done by seniority, the President and Head of State pick who they prefer among qualified military officers.
So there is nothing out of place in Maj. Gen. Ironsi being appointed or selected as Head of Nigeria's Army instead of his senior Gen. Wellington because the position is usually more of political appointment than military seniority
Presidents all over the world do it.
The only reason I countered the thread is to correct a historic lie that Yakubu Gowon was the first Indigenous Head of Nigeria's Army whereas it was Maj. Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi. If Yakubu was the officer Nnamdi Azikiwe and Belewa selected to serve as Nigeria's first Indigenous head of Army, I wouldn't have countered the thread because that will be the truth based on records and facts.
But twisting a clear record and fact just to malign Igbos is what I couldn't stand or ignored.
So yes you are correct that Bassey Wellington was the first Nigerian commissioned military officer, but he wasn't the first Indigenous Head of Nigeria's Army.
I can't argue with anything here.
It has always been a political appointment, which is unfortunately one of the reasons why professionalism will suffer in a highly politicised country like Nigeria.
franchasng: I made my post referencing Yoruba media because it was the cable and the likes that started this historic lie that Yakubu Gowon was the first Indigenous Head of Nigerian Army instead of Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi just to malign Igbos as usual.
What is difficult in reporting the truth? Why twist history just to massage the ego of your people when you know it's not the truth?
Gowon was just a mere Lt Colonel when Aguiyi Ironsi was decorated a Major General and head of Nigeria Army, so how was it possible for a Lt. Colonel to head the Army when there was a Major General?
And if you check list of all the heads of Nigeria Army right from the colonial masters, it is only Yakubu Gowon that led Nigerian Army as a Colonel, and it was because by the time Ironsi became Military Head of State of Nigeria, Yakubu was the next senior officer or so from the North.
Oga stop giving me history lesson that I already knew in order to justify your bias and need to play the victim card.
If you did not notice I was the first one to question this thread that was started by a non-Yoruba, so please don't bring the whole tribe into this because una no know simple history.
I had already accepted that Ironsi was the first defacto COAS, the same way I hope you will accept that there was a loyal Efik man who officially seniored him by at least 3 years and was strategically schemed out due to politicians in the NCNC (Wellington Bassey, NA1).
Also even when Gowon was chief of Army Staff, it was mainly ceremonial and administrative as he still had many seniors he had to salute including Brigadier Bassey, "The Duke" as he was fondly called.
Stop taking unverified Yoruba media publications designed to sideline and malign Igbos seriously please.
General Aguiyi Ironsi was the first Nigerian to head Nigeria's military after the British colonial masters handed over power to Nigerians.
Please check the reputable links.
During Aguiyi Ironsi's reign, the position was:
General Commanding Officer of The Entire Nigerian Army, who was the head of Nigeria Army as at that time. It was after him that Gowon then came on board.
Despite you silly ethnic baiting, I agree that historically Gen Aguiyi-Ironsi is by all intents, the first indigenous Chief of Army Staff in Nigeria.
Wispower: Calculate from David Ejoor to Ogumdia how many Deltalites in that position, Only Ihejirika from Abia State is the only one South Eastern officer to hold the Post, stop being Erected anytime you hear about the Igbos, one day you will explode
The same usual victim mentality over and over again.
From the time you mentioned of Ejoor to Ogomudia, Yorubas were in charge of the country on 3 separate occasions....not in one of them did we get a COAS despite the fact that we have more states than the SE and did not have the setback of the civil war (which means realistically senior SE Army officers stood almost no chance from 1967- 90 as obviously only those recruited after the war (1970) would have stood a chance). We all know that if Tinubu had not won the election there is no way Lagbaja or this new guy would have even smelt the position. But did you hear us beating the drums of war when we only had 1 COAS after 40 years despite occupying 7 states? Should we ask for a review as to how Delta State alone had surpassed the whole of Yorubaland in that time? Are the Yoruba, Igbo and Delta the only ethnicities in Southern Nigeria?
Like I said, no matter what the facts are, you must claim persecution...this is the same region that if I strolled alone inside uniform today, I would be beheaded before one could say Jack Robinson.
Owaincouncil: Who should we now believe. Either way, there is no hope for Nigeria without God.
Someone you do not know, told you he woke up and decided to fight for JUSTICE by writing a personal letter dated APRIL 11TH while his boss told you he faced disciplinary panel for abscondment and has since been compulsory retired on the 10TH OF FEBRUARY and you are still asking who to believe, person was sacked ONE FULL MONTH before SOE and you are still asking question......
.....maybe the guy saw into the future and decided not to come to work in 2024 because he knew Tinubu was going to remove his brother Fubara in 2025...Nigerians sef, anyone can be a hero, even Osama bin Laden
JuanDeDios: Interesting that Obasanjo had four Chiefs of Army Staff and none was Yoruba. It's unheard of these days for a president to have a CoAS from outside his "region". This country always progresses backward.
He was always bothered about looking more Nigerian than any other HOS we've ever had.
Also to be fair to him, when he was in the Army, most of his closest friends were not Yoruba officers.
You are also wrong about Gen Mohammed Chris Alli's state of origin...though he grew up in the SE (and spoke Igbo) he was not from Delta (at least on his father's side).
froxydydx: What about the other 200+ tribes that have not produced any service chief?
Please help me ask him if he saw an Edo, Efik, Urhobo or any other major ethnic group in the South there too..... to think the SE is the same region we are hearing are struggling to fill their quota for recruitment yet those that have been filling it on a steady still don't even have one COAS
Obrigardo: This is the turning point, and i think it would not end well for him. The regime is now actively defying a 9-0 SCOTUS ruling. That is a full blown crisis there. In some areas, people will call this Treason.
I strongly believe this is the camel that will finally damn his presidency and send him running away from the white house for good this time.
Mark my words.
This won't even scratch him as the Supreme Court were not even serious about the vague order they gave him.
When Democrats (and later other Americans) look back, they will regret not taking Trump seriously in 2017, he should have never been allowed to smell the highest seat in the land at all.
History will definitely remember him as the man who started the fall of the USA, no doubt in my mind.
Samueltemi337: He was not just any guy Was the Former director of Union Bank
I did not even know of this one sef when we had a topic here a few days ago where someone wondered how N34bn would go missing in a bank and people would not know.
So it is official now, a Bank Director (one of the oldest banks in Nigeria) is officially the king of Yahoo in the world!!
The day Nigerians will really look at the kind of people that get employed and rise fast in banks ehn!
5kw from Pylontech, Deye and Growatts is how much again?
Prices have gone down for some of the big boys, just a few weeks ago Fouani (LG) was doing Growatt 5.5kwh Lithium-ion battery for N1.2m...there are many deals to be had now with good stickers if one looks hard enough.
I usually type in bold because I feel the font is to light, so probably something like that and adding far more up too date text options and emoticons.
As for moderation, you need more mods to address the usual suspects who are getting bolder and typing nonsense like "Ogun kee you"...... in short you just need to trust more people who see this space as special as it is still IMO the most diverse and reliable medium for information in Nigeria.
Is Rivers the only state in Nigeria? Why are they the ones giving a professional body gifts? How much did they give ICAN or NMA??
If those useless lawyers no what is good for them they should refund that money ASAP! I already see DSS and EFCC coming for their useless organising committee anyway.
See the silly reply, did they have to talk when they had nothing tangible to say!
NewHe: But why Dangote, Otedola and others don't spend reckless like this?
Why leave it at Dangote...Elon Musk, Zuckerberg and Bill Gates have friends, yet they don't do this nonsense for them to celebrate mere birthdays....sha make person mind their business as the usual suspects will soon come after person, foaming in the mouth
Samantha125: There's a girl by the name of Thandeka Xaba who's been trending and crying for SA to help her locate her maternal family in SA... According to her, her Nigerian father took her to Nigeria after her mother's death and abandoned her with his wife there, he then returned back to SA... She's been subjected to one hardship after the other.
Apparently she's been physically abused and raped in Nigeria while her paternal family rejected her due to her mother's nationality... Her mother was not married to her father, hence she still calls by her mother's surname... Fortunately for her, her maternal family saw the video and reached out to her... She again alleged that SA women keep dying mysteriously in Nigeria and doesn't want to be next.
I thought you Nigerian men always take pride in looking after your children, now what is this?🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
