Segedinho: Nope.....
But,I think his successor has d power to verify and rightfully bring him to justice.
What is with the blame ...He failed woefully, must his successor continue the legacy of failure ?.
Myself and so many others called on Buhari who promised to be ruthless in dealing with tahe affairs of Nigeria(his credentials supported this)..
Buhari presently didn't only fail on his promises but he compromised maybe as a results of cabals and we are so so backward than even d GEJ era. Buhari failed for sure however in the townhall organized following the subsidy removal with SLS, NOI, DAM in attendance all of them had predicted that the next president of Nigeria (2015 and beyond) was going to face serious financial problems because of this subsidy. At that time, they did not even factor COVID-19 into their equation. Buhari was simply dealt a bad hand. Granted, he failed while at it but he was still dealt a bad hand. |

izzou: GEJ wanted to remove it. The current president refused.
Now you are explaining that a cartel is fighting Buhari. Why didn't you figure out that GEJ could be fighting the same cartel?
You brand GEJ as the careless one, then Buhari as the victim
Anyways, that's derailing
We can't afford to pay subsidy. We are going into deeper debts because of it, and sadly, no candidate is saying anything about the reality. They all condemn it and move on.
And i can't remember saying Obi was going to change anything. What's this discussion in relation to Obi? I may quote you but I am indirectly and pre-emptively replying some other posts. GEJ wanted to remove it but leave Nigerians in the hands of the same cartel he did not want to face. Similar to using Hyenas to protect the goats and then wonder why they keep reducing in number. That showed he was not serious and nobody trusted him. A palliative could have been cutting down the list of the "importers", sending the fakes to jail etc. Let Nigerians see you are serious. GEJ avoided it completely but would rather inflict the pains on Nigerians. Buhari got some of them deregistered and some even went to jail, then corruption fought back. Meanwhile, there has always been a cartel. OBJ sold refineries as he was leaving in 2007 and Yar Adua reversed the sale as part of his first act as president. A cartel will make you do that. |

Segedinho: Blaming GEJ to me is quite weird and uncalled for.....
How much has gone outa hand or borrowed for infrastructure wch are less important than building a refinery.
Subsidy is a calculated fraud and the cabals are using it at d detriment of the masses ....
Imagine the oil theft and d money lost as a result from oil scandals daily.....
It is impossible remove subsidy without building a single refinery to cushion d effect of d burst in price wch could lead to chaos or hunger in d country...
We were promised refinery 8 years ago and many of us are still using GEJ mask to exonerate Buhari...who does that ??
Okowa's proposition is bullshit cos we can see how Dangote cement is dealing with d country....
If a country blessed with a good quantity of crude oil cannot build a refinery then it is pitiable Do you know GEJ announced in 2009 (immediately after replacing Yar Adua) that he had released $23bn for 4 new refineries? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Android17: 6:26pm On Nov 10, 2022 |
izzou: So for 8 years, the government could not think of one solution to end this plague
Why couldn't Buhari revamp Kaduna, Warri and PH in his first 4 years? At least, we would have to deal with backlogs from marketers from 2019, while subsidy ends for good.
These guys are the beneficiaries. I blame GEJ for the subsidy scam, but i dont blame him for Buhari's decision to keep paying it even after 2019 SLS already said if you fight corruption, corruption will fight back. Buhari like I said initially tried but when corruption fought back, he yielded. Some of us expected him to whittle down the list of petroleum marketers. That number was in units and then tens under OBJ, upper tens to hundreds under Yar Adua and became thousands under GEJ. We all know only about maximum 50 of them were actually importing the products and distributing in Nigeria, but because we were cashing out then, GEJ saw no issues in doling out 1.7 trillion in 2011 to those marketers. From 200 or so billion just a year prior. Now Buhari tried to cut down that list but you are dealing with a cartel. They grabbed him by the balls and the consequence would have been harsh scarcity and long queues. Ibe Kachikwu advised him to pay some of the money which he did. Like I said, one may not like it but if you have better solutions considering the country involved, you can mention it. As for those moribund refineries, it was unconscionably stupid to try to revamp them. In fact, as soon as I see any president or minister advocate for it I know they are just playing to the gallery. None of those refineries should be revamped or subjected to TAM paid for by the FG. They should have been sold off as scrap to the private sector and government should have played the role of regulator. Times would have been harsh but the ripple effect would have augured well for Nigerians. Afterall, the price people pay now is still higher than what it would have been had this been done in say 2010 or earlier. But there is a very palpable lack of trust factor for Nigerian governments and rightly so. Leaving market forces to determine prices would have seen those same marketers and their cartel connive to bribe the regulators and then hike the prices for maximum profit. It was a pick your poison situation and as you can see, this present government decided to pay the subsidy. A Peter Obi administration will do same FYI. Forget what he is saying now. |

izzou: GEJ did want to remove it. Remember?
It was people in this government that protested. Today, they are there, and they can't remove it.
People in power are the importers. The capital to import 1 million liters of PMS no be beans.
Then imagine government paying 250, while the people pay 200. Which business get this kind assurance? While you are right that every government dealt with roundtripping and all the associated issues with subsidy, it was worsened by the Jonathan administration. When it became unsustainable, rather than put some sterner measures to check it, Jonathan opted to have the subsidy completely removed. Nobody was going to trust him especially when he made no serious actions towards putting palliatives in place to cushion the effect of the removal first and foremost. You may not like to hear it but Buhari originally took a hard stance on subsidy but the marketers who claimed they were owed trillions from the Jonathan regime threatened that until some reimbursements were made, they will refuse to import and distribute refined Petroleum products. Buhari had to play ball by remitting some of the monies to them. That is why most of us always dial back to GEJ's regime concerning this subsidy brouhaha. |

Skrrrrrrr: The warriors were head and shoulders above the Celtics. They were just picking up after slumping due to injuries. And they finally peaked in the finals. If not for some good fortune in Game 1, the series would have ended in 5. Repeat it 4x, warriors win 4x. Fatigue had nothing to do with it. In the last 20 years, The Warriors have pulled the most ratings in the NBA finals. The most recent one still topped Lebron and the Lakers as well as Giannis and his bucks. If anyone cites COVID-19 tell them that every other shows' ratings improved as a result of it. I mean viewership not attendance. And it is not because of the Celtics. We are box office. In addition, Curry has become the face of the NBA again. He is in all the commercials, hosted the ESPYs and dominated most of the news stories before the KD brouhaha (they even tried to lie using our name to get the news to generate more buzz). As soon as that was sorted, the news shifted back to Curry and the Warriors. We will virtually be on every other televised games this coming season, more times than Bucks and Lakers were given in the last 2 years having won championships. The bus parade, Draymond Green's marriage and Curry's graduation all dominated sports news. Curry is the Cinderella man: winning his first Finals MVP and everyone maybe except Creep Bayless now agreeing he is a top 10 player in NBA history. Don't expect people who never wanted us to win to be happy about it. Grape is sour. For some, their team lost so their frustration is granted. For others, it is because Curry proved all that floor General jibber jabber we used to hear was utter nonsense and I called it out at the time. It is often said that people will lie but numbers don't so I attached numerical proof concerning the NBA finals. The rest of the other stuff is easier to prove. They hate us cause they ain't us. They hate us cause they anus

Tottenham even doubted him that they wanted him on a non-obligatory loan deal. He is just showing that he is adjusting better to England than Italy, like Thierry. |

Here is the brilliance and weakness of Conté: He prepares his teams to perform like a choir. They use almost the same patterns of play both in defense and attack so that his players master it to perfection. It is grueling, exerting and daunting, however, when he has the right tools in most positions, he will replicate the same result 70-80% of the time. It is usually not complicated a routine but it is complex enough to trap and gazump his opposition. You can see what he is trying to do but you can't stop it at the moment. You will have to prepare your team like a machine or luck it out.
The issue is, after a short while, he can be sussed out and easily so. As soon as that happens, Conté seems to lack more tricks in the bag and then fights with management, so he can get fired and find a new club to ply his trade. Then his hustle continues. |
