Jokes EtcRe: Hilarious Photos Of "His Oga At The Top" (NSCDC) by andyzoga: 8:36am On Mar 14, 2013
1stCitizen: Tell me of any arm of Nigeria's security establishment being run by competent people. I am waiting. My point is an interview is not meant to be an avenue to ridicule people. It is designed to get an insight into issues, people, projects, governance etc
And you're proud of that?! What stopped the man from being honourable to have answered he didn't know it rather than beating about d bush? Sympathy in d name of professionalism will take us nowhere in dis nation. I dare to challenge you on the interviews by foreign tv stations... I hope Hardtalk on BBC is not on ur list. That man is just of one those square
Pegs in round holes we have in dis nation. . . Datz all!
Jokes EtcRe: Hilarious Photos Of "His Oga At The Top" (NSCDC) by andyzoga: 5:32am On Mar 14, 2013
Stallion84: Now the new line on the block is 'My Oga at the top'. But no one has condemned the distasteful way the channels crew ridiculed a guest on a live tv show. I find these channels cast so unprofessional. As much as I agree that the Civil defence representative messed up in a capital manner, but the unruly way these people handled the situation goes against modern journalism. The point has been obvious that after asking him twice, he couldn't come up with a tangible answer but three people kept repeating the same question over and over again. You should protect the guest as well while remembering that he is not an omniscience.
I watched a live session of a programme in 2006. 'one on one' where the jigawa state governor couldn't give a tangible response to all questions asked but the anchor was professional. He made the point known to us all and protected the interest of his host.
The Civil defence rep might not be the best candidate for his role or the live interview but using the whole scene as a cheap way to attain fame or viewer-ship is not the best. The show was not meant for that, its not Jerry Springer.
I think the NBC should do something about this and avert further occurrence.
Professionalism or no professionalism, am of d opinion that SunriseDaily is one of such tv programmes which still keep the so-called 'professionals' in this country on their toes. All we need is result n taking necessary actions with it. Enough of mediocrity in our country if we must get there. And if I may ask, where's Jigawa today after being run by the likes of "my oga at d top" who were 'professionally' covered up? It's a common knowledge that there're still many of his kind in d govt ministries n parastatals who found their ways to d top by all means n nt by merit, yet they're paid with your taxes. As long as govt can't expose them, I believe these guys(Channelstv,Chamberlain n co) are doing their best for d masses. Thanks

President Jonathan’s Best Statement Ever;
"If anyone of you (referring to Borno Elders) wants the Federal Government to withdraw JTF troops from the state, he should come & sign an agreement that if anybody is killed after signing the document... I will hold you responsible according to the law of the land;I assure you that before I go back to Abuja all the JTF troops will leave the state."
PoliticsRe: Protesters Shut-down Governor’s Office In Abeokuta by andyzoga: 3:04pm On Mar 08, 2013
Unknown Member: Some, if not all of those folks are most likely not from Ibadan.

Relocate them to where?! Many people jump on busses in search of greener pastures in a new city and dont make adequate arrangements of how they will cope prior to hitting it big. We are a developing Nation for Christ sakes. It is the same you that will go to Dubai, return to Nigeria and open your mouth to spill bullshiit about our government. I gave an example of Rainbow City in Port-Harcourt. It was a slum dweling filled with Akwa Ibomites (Okada riders) & Yorubas (taxi drivers). It was cheap, make-shift houses that was housing over 5000 - 10,000 mostly migrant labourers and workers. All the thieves and armed robbers in Port-Harcourt all lived in Rainbow town. There were reports of how the Nigerian Police could not go into Rainbow town to apprehend a suspect for fear of lynching. Nobody could drive through Rainbow town in the 90's at Night. TODAY! I live in Rainbow area of Port-Harcourt. That place is like the new unofficial GRA of Port-Harcourt. Infact, that place houses the best Medium - Upper class housing Project in the whole of Rivers State. Looking back and remembering what Rainbow town use to be and seeing it now, I say thanks to the Government of Odili for removing that eyesore.

Even in the U.S, Housing is not FREE! angry

Slums still exists and every now and then, the government evicts the occupants of these abandoned houses, demolishes them and puts up new condos. People who end up buying them still have to pay their mortgages for them.

If you cant afford city life, return to your villages. In the village, standard of living is so low, you can feed well on 200 naira a day, ask corp members who served in remote villages. In my village, I will never go hungry. NEVER! My Father at some point moved back to the village after his rent expired and he couldnt afford a renewal. He only returned to the city after he had recovered. I know a woman who lives in the village. She farms, sells her goods in the city and goes back home after the day is done.

The city is a vicious and wild place. Only the strong survive. If the land is indeed being illegally occupied, all your rants are as meaningless as a 1 naira note.

We are a developing nation and development must come at a price..
You've just shown that u didnt read through the article before passing off-points and irrelevant comments with sentiments here. Am sure you have no idea of where d community is located. No government presence has ever been there for the pple to benefit from, not even among the legal occupants and now, it's development for which pple? Until we start being our brothers' keepers in this nation. . . Ask yourself who benefits for the acclaimed development at the end of the day. Are there not meant to be low-cost houses for these less-privildged in our society? i dont blame you, leadership is always of product of followership but with followers like you, one needs no prophet to tell d future of this nation.
PoliticsRe: Protesters Shut-down Governor’s Office In Abeokuta by andyzoga: 8:55am On Mar 08, 2013
Wickedness in d hearts of some NL. Come to think of it, what's democracy in it's true sense if less-priviledged ones are always at d receiving end? What stops d govt from relocating those folks? If proper Housing scheme has been in place by d govt b4 now, this kind of issue should've been a forgotten one. Why do pple have to be responsible for everything in dis country(housing, security, etc) and yet get punished by some power-hungry fellows in d name of development. And just because some fellows here can barely feed themselves they think they're living forgetting they're only existing in dis country, they no longer have feelings for d less priViledged. . . If govt is truly for d pple, dis pple shouldn't be left uncatered for.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It A Sin Not To Attend Sunday Service? by andyzoga: 3:12am On Feb 25, 2013
@OP, I strongly believe by now U̶̲̥̅̊'re more confused than U̶̲̥̅̊ were. . .lol. On a personal note, xtianity is more of a personal adventure, taking personal responsibilities. Note that every word of d scripture is God Himself in print. First I believe there's a Sabbath day(either saturday or sunday,it depends on ur choice),but God's opinion abt it is Ex20:8 n He's very clear in Isaiah 58:13 abt dsame Sabbath day and d goodnews follows in verse 14 of it,for ur own profiting. For me,it's as simple as da̶̲̥̅̊†!
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Believe In Deliverance? by andyzoga: 2:37am On Feb 25, 2013
ifihearam: Any church that preaches the above scripture to you and does not conduct or believe in deliverance is the biggest lie from the pit of hell, let me emphasize by asking you this,if you owe me 1m naira yesterday and gives your life to christ today, does that cancel the debt you owe me?? we africans in general or should i say nigerians have a root with ancestral powers before we all embraced christianity,so you must believe in deliverance by force.
I was of that opinion until i saw physical manifestation of a relative when we invited a pastor to family prayers, guy!!!! demons are real. you better believe in deliverance and go for one if you have not.
I don't seem to be comfortable wit ur illustration. Our xtian race is about being worded with proper understanding. Christ paid ALL my debts n me accepting Him is Him living in me! Mosttimes, many xtians get tormented by d devil not because d devil is da̶̲̥̅̊† wicked but because they don't know their true identity in Christ. May d good Lord open our eyes of understanding,IJN
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Wont Use State Resources For Good Governance Tour by andyzoga: 4:15am On Feb 21, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: I like governor Oshiomole alot and he's definitely one very popular governor. However, he should watch it because he's beginning to exhibit arrogance and dictatorial tendencies.

I understand the national good governance tour is a programme of collaboration between the FG and 36 state govts (and FCT). I'm surprised the comrade governor now tagged the national good governance tour a "federal govt programme"

After watching some of the live telecast of the national good governance tour in some states, I concluded that we need more of such programmes. On every occasion that I watched the live telecast of the citizens forum, UNDILUTED questions were asked by citizens resident in any part of the world. And the governors and minister of information labour to provide answers to all the questions.

No matter how the comrade governor has performed, there are always issues and problems (some of which the governor may not be aware of) that may require further clarification.

Moreover, democracy is not a one man show. There should be continuous conversation between the leaders and followers. Avenues for such conversation can never be surplus. The good governance tour is one of such avenues for conversation between the leaders and the people.

If the governor can sponsor the camping of national football teams in Edo (which he has done in the past), he should be able to provide counterpart funds to support the 3days visit of the national good governance tour team to Edo state.
And in your heart of heart you think all you've said justify the need to spend tax payers' money to cater for 120 delegates? Pls tell us the true meaning of corruption to you in this present day Nigeria where most of these tax payers can hardly feed themselves not to talk of their dependants. For me, you don't need any tour/talk when you perform. Your work should be evident and be speaking for you. I know God'll run the life of everyone the way he runs d affairs of this country #Godiswatching o

TravelRe: 1,487 Illegal Routes To Nigeria Uncovered by andyzoga: 5:26pm On Feb 06, 2013
The minister said, “We are contemplating using the Public Private Partnership model to see how we can construct graders around our borders. As it is today, if you go to many of our land borders, you hardly can define when you are in Nigeria and when you are out of it, and that is because of the lack of physical structure that will separate Nigeria from the other countries.”

When will these pple start telling us what they've done/achieved and not what they're still complating to do?

@OP,wen I read stuffs like dis I tend not to believe am in d same country wit pple like U̶̲̥̅̊. Thr truth is if U̶̲̥̅̊'re truly working, U̶̲̥̅̊ don't need to talk much. . .ur work speaks for U̶̲̥̅̊! Guess pple like U̶̲̥̅̊ feed GEJ wit wrong info just for ur selfish gains. I pay my tax duely yet,I pay higher than wat I used to pay b4 GEJ govt for electricity I don't use, registered my vehicle at exorbitant rate than it used to be n fuel now costs more, yet I drive on bad roads n my salary not increased. Where are d palliatives GEJ promised us? Meeehn. . .wit pple like U̶̲̥̅̊ around,I strongly beliveve Naija is moving nowhere. Governance isn't rocket science or brain surgery. . .if U̶̲̥̅̊ can't fix. Naija's enormous problems, then U̶̲̥̅̊'re not fit to go for d 2nd term. We still take our kids to private schls to pay more because Education is still zero, so where's d achievement for a common man on d street to see? We still pay for security n water in different neighbourhoods of d country #Godiswatching o.

You can bend rules when extremely needed in a community that frowns at corrupt practices, but you dont break d rules. Once a standard is put in place, everyone should live by it. 9ja politicians must have started this way thinking they can break rules at anytime, eating their cake and yet having it. My point is students who know they cant cope with the CU standards have options of other universities.
If God's convenant to humans can be broken, what is covenant university's
rule that cant be borken ? that punishment is harsh and the NUC should
wade into the matter asap.
