Why not just show up for a visa interview without filling out DS160 ahead of time? What is the point of filling out a DS160 exactly? You might as well argue that the consulate *solely* relies on what the candidate has to say during the interview. What about other countries, like the U.K, that have no interview process at all? They just take your application, read it and then issue a visa right away. I guess I don’t understand what you mean when you say the idea of a background check is a fallacy. Already, there are minor clues on the form, like asking applicants for social media info. You could rationalize and make yourself feel good about it; but background check is no secret: don’t be misinformed and please don’t mislead others.

Nigerian is a shitty nation and inflation and cost it crazy ....my friend that is working for Nigerian govt for 11 years is on salary of 120k on grade level 12 he told me he started in 2008 with a salary of 37k on level 8 ..in 2008 dollars was 105..so he was earning 350 dollars now 11 years after he earn 120k /360 = 333 dollars ....so in space of 11 years with a master degree salary is still within 350 band.....this breed corruption and the nation is not realist ....but he told me is oga the head moved from 190k to 900 k per month (including several perk)

So for example, BSc is the name/title of the qualification. So you can be awarded a BSc or HND diploma certificate. So the paper your qualification is written on is called a diploma certificate. Master or HND, all na diploma certificate.

What the poster would have said is I've added so and so to my qualifications. But I won't sweat him calling his qualification a degree as the message is clear. Una too like educational title for Nigeria. Engr Matthew, Architect Samuel, Surveyor James.
