Yeah thanks ..yes had changed out all 4 pcs of 200ah battery once, thanks to the low voltage cut off on my system them batteries never gets over discharged. But considering the Dod advantage on the lithium battery ...it seems juicy to plan for one...but like my first step from gen to solar....I listen more before I move. |
Hello Guys, I have my eyes on lithium 48V 10kwh bank as an upgrade from my years of sealed battery option. But there's this fear of the unknown that's just making me procrastinate. I will like to read from an experienced user about how the lithium battery has performed when compared with or possibly outperformed the seal battery in practice and also safety wise. There are videos of lithium battery fire with flames that are just too ridiculously scary. I rest. Thanks guys for your guidance to going solar, since 2017....no regrets. |

KendrickAyomide: You just cracked me up.....lol |
My brother had same issues with his game cafe in PH. He always made 3k max daily while the guys there buy roasted fish and beer in plain sight after they had closed for the day. Till he put up a CCTV at the payment points and inside to view the console....on the first day of installation sales jumped to 11k and even 21k within same week. The guys resigned on their own and new people were employed. Such is the risk of trust ...they will just exploit your blind spot. Go for a CCTV....the benefits is higher than the installation budget. |
Good morning house, Please I want to ask, has any one received a treasury bill certificate required to get a bank loan? Does AXA MAnsard issue such certificates to their clients. Please help. |
idsolar:The induction cookers are pretty good...besides I don't intend loading the system till the Sun is high above. That way I can always draw much needed solar input without total drain or dependence on my bank. But I haven't been offered any inverter brand looking from this cooking load angle...maybe the sellers here can tell us more about their recommended products before discount prices..... ![]() |
Dam5reey:One of my 7 point agenda is to have a system that can power my split unit ac, pump my sumo and also boil egg from solar power , not all at once o.....how can we stay green when gas is more attractive and with the big boys in this forum running AC units on their setup...my small hot plate can't be rocket science ![]() |
NiyiOmoIyunade:Thanx Guys...pls any advice on how these recommended inverters handle about 2 hrs use of the electric hot plate of approx 2kW. I hear some brands of inverters don't do well with hot plates. even while below maximum rated inverter capacity. |
Hello fellow DIYers....yesterday we lined up an alternate power line from my inverter to our sumo water pump I was told to be 1hp. At start up my 1.5kva inverter overload light came up and it shut down on the overload protection mode. I know some guys here pump water effortlessly with their inverters so my question is which brand do you guys use. Currently I use a 1.5kva Eco luminous inverter. I'm skewed towards a prag or same luminous but with 24v battery bank source. But open to FTA advice.....not adverts ![]() |
mrsdaniel:I've been Kiekie's client twice and as recently as this evening , I received my panels way billed from him to me. (Not minding he wasn't impressed at the price he had to let it go). ![]() Past delivery of Panel roof rails, clips , remote display and breakers had all been done in the past without even as much as a physical handshake with him. I still remember his "throw in" gift of a temperature sensor which wasn't part of our bargain then. Well I'm always of the opinion that the customer is always right... as much as I may not complain about he's sincerity, other clients may be displeased if they find any weakness in his dealings. That being said, Same ads posted here is what got my attention to get these panels purchased from him. But if the forum agrees that its a problem then it provides an avenue for more ideas doesn't it?...lets have a weekly black Friday for ads...whats wrong with a little innovation ![]() For me...honesty and mutual respect comes first...other emotions that may lead to bad mouthing someones business gets relegated to the background or sorted directly with the person in question to get it off my chest. Many gurus here do refer newbies to reliable sellers without referral bonuses ![]() I'm sure there will be more past and present customers like me that will say he's been a reliable supplier /retailer... and personally the complaints might just be isolated events that will eventually be given a well soothing explanation. “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time”.....thanks kiekie.

4B1 N4 B1N4RY C0D3 UN4 DON 3N73R h3R3 S0.... ![]() Hello All, Can Anyone advice on a good, type, capacity, of petrol gen that can conveniently handle the inverter battery charging with my luminous 24V 1500kva (for the type of inverter see picture below) . I just realized my gen can't cope with the amps required. The low voltage warning light keeps blinking and it discontinues charging when I on the gen. You can hear the drain on the gen rpm to almost stalling as the inverter reconnects to its charging mode. Thanks....

NiyiOmoIyunade:I agree completely. Will plan to carryout weekly voltage checks but for now I'm just loving the increase in average harvest. ![]() |
So yesterday I had my HAO2 battery balancer fixed to my bank as advised. Noticed a rise in device temperature throughout yesterday's harvest period ,I had to get My car fire extinguisher nearer and handy just in case. But today I observed the highest harvest ever at 5.86kwh .I guess it really took a longer time for my bank to hit float charge hence the continued charging. I might be wrong though but hey...that's the beauty of diy. Anyone out there noticed same temperature rise on the HAO2? Should I be worried? ![]()

Very easy solution. In the middle of the night, Install some motion activated hidden cameras , position them at different points in the place to view the eggs during collection. Get only three people to have access to the collection points. When fully charged they can record to 4 days on motion activated mode only and should tell you total number of eggs picked for 4 or more days depending on battery capacity. It has a small memory card you can swap to review videos. My Brother had a similar problem with his game cafe, always getting N2,500.00 total access ticket sales for games played for a full day. I kept telling him his staff sit around after close of work eating Suya and roasted chicken daily hin no dey hear my own. Finally he installed a camera at the payment point and from that day ticket sales jumped to N9,000.00 daily. So mitigate theft with cheap technology....you'll soon see that the gains outweigh the costs. |
Thanks a Lot @NiyiOmoIyunade, I'm glad to know the connection will be a step in the right direction. My CC gets to float by 12 noon with good sunlight and at night the inverter does additional charging. I mostly stay off grid in the day time to reduce PHED tarrif on Freezer loads. Observed differences in voltage readings on individual battery after a daylight float needs to be tackled some way and this is my first step towards that. Once again thanks. NiyiOmoIyunade: |
Hello All, Please see diagram ,I need to know if this is a correct connection for a HA02 battery balancer I intend to add to my 24V (4 x 12V) battery bank setup. Need to save the low charged battery in this hard times. Best regards. Anidat77

Show me a success story that failure was never a stepping stone. Sit back think about all that went wrong put everything in place to prevent reoccurrence. And you'd be surprised at the results. ![]() |
Na wa o ...I really miss Donald Duke, that guy was just too advanced for his time as a governor. If you can remember water pressure in those pipes ,you had to connect two sets of inlet valves into your apartment to prevents damage to your local plumbing. Now Calabar has lost all tracks from less entertaining carnivals to no business in EPZ to no water... How can a director of a public utility service give an indefinite and unplanned duration for repair processes without considering the satisfaction of tax payers. Is there no plan? Poverty is certainly not lack of money....but lack of ideas. ![]() |
Thanks, I will find out about the glass replacement.Any pointers? efuro: |
Hello Gurus, I've got a panel that got damage before installation. It fell during strong storm winds and shattered the protective glass. Any ideas on diy repairs on the glass so it can resist water ingress to the cells . A friend recommended using a transparent liquid that hardens when it cures. Yet to explore such option. Never touch the surface of a shatterd solar panel glass with your bare fingers. Believe me I know ![]() |
Thanks for all your comments dapsyra: bigrovar, DMerciful. @ DMerciful...the solar panels are located 90 feet from the charge controller. They are connected with 16mm cables , though the pannels are 6pcs of 200w, connected 2 series x 3 parrallel , 1 harvest a max voltage of 70v and current 9 amps on good days to my 40amps epsolar tracer-A charge controller which charge to my 24v battery bank and also inverter, @dapsyra & bigrovar : Can I also use same battery equalizer for my 4 batteries , 24 v setup? or are there other devices for 24v setup since it clearly states the device you recommended is for 48v setup. |
Hello Gurus, I need some clarifications. I recently observed that my 4pcs of 12V deep cycle batteries connected to my 24v inverter becomes drained to almost trip-off voltage. My bank gets charged either from the solar panels or Nepa light so by sunset they are 26.6V on good harvest days. I run my petrol generator from 7pm to 11pm if no Nepa, but from 11pm to 7am the batteries power the 3 energy bulbs and 2 fans , max of 200w. I tested the voltage of each battery and observed that 3 where above 12.3V but one was 10.5V, do I need to replace the 10.5v battery as this could end up draining the system, will this allow the system to retain much of the harvest from my panels so I can use it in the night without discharging all the juice from the batteries before morning? I know the answer may be obviouse ,but guys ...recession is biting hard so do forgive and also give me all DIY options too for preventive measures ![]() |
