Election season and everybody vying for their pocket, and not for national interest. |
Thank God you're not the God who determines who makes heaven and why. And this is why people don't take Christians and Christianity seriously. |
Great success story. For anyone still navigating their japa dream, keep holding on, don't give up. |
The Ponzi schemers are one part of the problem. Those who patronize them are another part of the problem. The SEC continue to warn the public regularly but many don't even know. And some don't care. I think there must be active and regularpublicity of this information. |
A worthy man. May God rest his soul. Good coverage by the media. Stories like this should not be lost. |
They lost their opportunity to make Labour party into a formidable force in Nigeria's political landscape. Yes, there might have been influences from external forces (read: that other party) but they didn't do well enough to protect and consolidate what they had. Small breeze and they fell like a pack of cards. |
Where are the bodies? Hopefully the DHQ and intelligence agencies are carefully monitoring the situation. This is an opportunity to remove these guys from continuing to disturb this country. |
According to the World Bank, Nigeria owes China over $5bn. Number 3 in Africa. And that's not talking about enormous Chinese investments in the country. There it goes. This is an eye-opener and hopefully, more eyes and mouths start talking about this to re-focus government's attention on this issue before it becomes a pandemic. |
In January, the Trump administration removed those limits, instead suggesting that people should “consume less alcohol for better overall health.”This one does not care about the people, only the money the alcohol execs will send to his "campaign". |
Aftermath of the latest strikes in the US-Iran war. |
Even though every country's currency depreciates over time, the way the naira fell is like gravity sat on it. |
Even though this is US-focused, it's still a good info. |
No matter how and who says this thing, some will not hear... At the end, it's not only the children that suffer from it. The society also suffers. |
My brother, in this life, nobody do you ooo. Hustle for your own success and leave bitterness alone. It is not the fault of the son of a wealthy man that your own father could not give you such life. Work hard to see that you give your own kids the life they deserve instead of being unnecessarily bitter towards other people's achievements. That bitterness, avoid it by every means. It does not have good fruits. No one is the reason for your failure. Trust God. Do your best. All will be well! |
The British did their thing so strongly but even our leaders didn't seem to want a unified country for all-round prosperity. They wanted the prosperity only for themselves. Any country that must develop must first and foremost embrace unity and leaders across board must ensure this with singular focus. |
Is there a now a discord between the Northern youths and their leaders? Hopefully that translates into how they vote. |
Is this the new method to make education more exclusive by making it more expensive? This should not even happen in a place like Delta State. |
Nigeria is a diverse country like any other. And most people will agree that living in New York is not the same as living in New Mexico. Same difference with London and Luton, Toronto and Thunder Bay. There is always a difference between a big city and a small city especially in the quality of life. Despite the multitude of economic opportunities that are concentrated in key cities, the cost of living is almost up to par. And for Nigeria, another elephant in the room - insecurity. At the end, everyone should prioritise what works for them at each period. |
This is the state of the Nigerian business environment. These are huge companies that have left the country and no longer operating as they were just a decade ago. What that means is not only revenue loss in taxes but also main job losses (from full-time staff to contractors and even distributors). That's a serious dent on the economy. But FG continues to emphasize macro-economic growth. That's not enough. Not even close. Government should make and direct specific policies toward not only bringing multinationals to operate in Nigeria but also to encourage them to stay. The economy can not only be sustained by oil. Not in this 21st century. And I don't want to believe they don't know. They don't seem willing enough and too focused on what benefits them only. |
US is attacking Iran, while Iran continues to attack US gulf allies. There is nothing to be ashamed of for the US to extricate themselves from this war. It's pointless and useless and it's weakening the strategic interest of the US. |
From a staunch opponent to a loyal supporter, and now an Ambo, well done sir! |
He called for a political system in which elections would serve as a means of consolidating development, rather than becoming a recurring distraction from governance. It does not matter the party or the candidate, we must keep our eyes on the issues - economy, jobs, infrastructure etc. |
OAP don lose guard. His role does not need emotions. |
You no be God na... And voters can stop them. |
This whole thing won't move the needle in the coming election, except to further reduce Nigeria's global credibility. |
This man with all his talks does not know it will be a long thing before he gets to that seat. Maybe someone will pity him and give him VP in the near future. |
At the end of it all, this money won't matter beyond this world. Hopefully there are serious consequences against this scapegoat so others can be deterred. |
Regardless of how well this thing is proceeding in US courts, it will very little affect the election. If things come to light after the election, the country just loses more international credibility. |
Giving the green white green a very bad name. Not good at all. |
PFGN and the people surrounding him are not helping himself. If there is nothing to hide, why go to all that trouble? These guys are just clowns. |
Journalist + Politician in the eye of the storm. Both of them seem to want to enjoy some 14 years behind bars. |
This National Social Registry is ridiculous and that's another reason why fighting insecurity and corruption is challenging (but still, they want to overburden current taxpayers - story for another day). ...a call for government to provide Nigerians with a clear statistical bridge connecting the different household, population, beneficiary and expenditure figures being used across public institutions. For any reasonable government, this should not be difficult. With the appropriate near-estimate data, you can plan better. And the groundwork is already very easy with all the Telecom operators and NIN linking. The remaining ingredient is the willpower. |
