celeiyke: Nigeria is not all about Tinubu and Buhari. Tinubu assisted Buhari for his personal gains, if he did for the sake of Nigeria he would have been offering advisory roles to the government considering the hardship in Nigeria today. They should campaign for him without the lie he offered Buhari to salvage Nigeria
Time of sympathy has gone!
Give me just 1 cogent reason why this man should be voted in as president of this Nation if not for selfish or tribal end.
jamjo: One thing I want my people to know I'm not here to defend our politicians, but my observation and see if I will get answers. In one of the pictures, the roof of the warehouse was damaged and if you look closely there are watermarks on the wall that shows that the damaged roof is not new so my questions are why were the goods parked directly under the damaged roof not damaged by water? Is this a staged publicity stunt?
This is a very intelligent observation honestly. You should be a good investigative journalist.
dumahi: He almost said the truth. But I doubt if restructuring will end the Biafran agitation. No, not now that millions have paid the ultimate price for it while the fundamental causes of the war are getting reinforced by the day.
And, do you guys even realize that what you call 'restructuring' had been in place in 1966 when the Nigerian Civil War reared its ugly head? So, how can it be of benefit now? For example, will it stop the herder tribe from overstepping their boundaries and killing people in their homes and farms?
If we can think clearly, we can see with Igbos that the only thing that can save this place is a breakup with each people maintaining a full territorial integrity - fully independent armed forces, resource management, political sovereignty, etc. In such a situation, when anyone oversteps the boundary, it becomes a clear issue of international politics, no longer within the manipulations of the local political class.
It's better to break an embattled marriage and stay in friendship than to keep it and stay in conflict. Mark my word: If we refuse to listen to the voice of reason to break up this contraption, OUR UNBORN GENERATIONS WILL USE US AS A CURSE WORD. Only selfish politicians who still have something personal to gain from Nigeria keep using such expressions as 'one Nigeria' and 'restructuring'.
I have so much more to say on this but let me rest my case for now.
I know you are angry on this as most of us here! Generations are passing and yet we are still where we are due to greed and wickedness.
NwekeUG: Amanda Gorman Becomes Youngest Poet In US History To Read At Presidential Inauguration (Video)
Amanda Gorman made history on Wednesday January 20, as the youngest poet in US history to read a poem at a presidential inauguration, IgbereTV reports.
The 22-year-old read a powerful poem at the inauguration of US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Los Angeles native reportedly finished writing the poem, titled "The Hill We Climb," on the night of January 6, hours after rioters took part in a siege on Capitol Hill.
Gorman opened her poem Wednesday by saying:
"We braved the belly of the beast."
"We've learned that quiet isn't always peace and the norms and notions of what just is, isn't always justice. And yet the dawn is hours before we knew it, somehow we do it, somehow we’ve weathered and witnessed a nation that isn't broken but simply unfinished."
"We, the successors of a country and a time, where a skinny black girl descended from slaves and raised by a single mother can dream of becoming president, only to find herself reciting for one."
"And yes, we are far from polished, far from pristine, but that doesn't mean we are striving to form a union that is perfect," she said. "We are striving to forge our union with purpose, to compose a country committed to all cultures, colors, characters and conditions of man."
"And so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us but what stands before us. We close the divide because we know to put our future first. We must first put our differences aside."
Gorman follows in the footsteps of esteemed poets like Maya Angelou and Robert Frost in reading a poem at a presidential inauguration.
Gorman received praises for her poem from the likes of Lin Manuel Miranda, Hillary Clinton, and Oprah Winfrey.
