This is the time to build the structure of labour party against 2027. If we had labour party governors in Edo and rivers State and LGA chairmen, we won't be bullied like we were in the just concluded election.

I am from Edo and I have plans to run for any office at all just to hold it for labour party and most preferably LGA chairman or state house of Assembly. Who have an idea his much the form cost and process involved. Suggestions needed urgently!!!
Which local government area in Edo state?

PoliticsWhat To Expect Come Next Week As INEC Reruns The Nigeria President. by anomaly20(op): 2:43pm On Feb 20, 2023
By this time next week, INEC will return a president with the letter T in his name from a state with the letter A. This and more will happen:1. There will be cries of rigging all over the nations, and some people will attempt an Orubebe.
2. Many people will tag the AU, EU, UN, USA, and EU parliaments, asking them to step in and save Nigerian democracy.
3. There will be protests, especially in some southern states.
4. Many people's political careers will be over.
5. One thing is certain, tears of pain will flow but not from the winning camps.
6. There will be rejection of the elections results.
7. Lawyers will be smiling, because the time to make money is upon them as the aggrieved parties will head to the courts to reject the results of the election.

NothingDoMe:
Hahaha. After the deduction who win? Winner nor change? Bop na straight up rerun.

Except PDP can prove there was overvoting in areas that APC won too. If they deduct finish and PDP still win then no rerun because e nor change the winner.

You Gerrit? Once over voting changes the winner or loser na rerun be that oh.
It does not work like that. By changing the outcome, it means making the election inconclusive.
If after the deduction, the PDP wins then the tribunal would have declared Adeleke winner.
And rerun can only happen when the overvoting was cancelled at the PU and Ward levels before a return has been made.

PoliticsRe: The INEC’s “BVAS-Report” Versus The “Synchronised BVAS-Report” by anomaly20: 8:43am On Feb 01, 2023
SmartPolician:
BVAS is not used for voting; it's only used for accreditation. There's a difference, sir. grin

Yes, INEC can declare results without BVAS reports. What BVAS report does is to confirm that the number of people who voted is EQUAL to number of people it cleared to vote.

Where there's an overage, it's called over-voting, and Section 51 of the 2022 Electoral Law says that fresh election should be conducted there.

Instead, those two yeye judges who sat over Osun State guber tribunal (excluding one whose dissenting verdict didn't even show he understood that section of the law) declared Oyetola the winner. They deserve to be tied to a big tree in a marketplace and flogged 50 lashes of koboko each cheesy

I hope this helps....
Saying something that is not correct with confidence 😂.
Section 51 subsection 4 states that after a result was cancelled, and it does not affect the outcome of the election a return can be made .
PoliticsRe: Governor Adeleke Addresses Osun People, Says Claim Of Over-voting Unfounded by anomaly20: 10:12am On Jan 28, 2023
9jahotblog:
The "New Electoral Law" stipulated that, anywhere that is Over Voting; be it Ward (s) or Polling Unit, such Election area will be cancelled totally and call for re-run Election.
Now, it is unlawful for the Tribunal to cancel 749 Polling Units where PDP won and then declared a winner. It’s impossible and won’t stand.
Adeleke will surely win on appeal and the Supreme Court too.
We need to bring sense back to the Legal system.
Hence, Re-run is the worst case here if you cancelled 749 Polling Units.
Subsection 4 of section 51 states that the judgement was correct

PoliticsRe: Fresh ANAP/NOI Poll Skewed To Encourage Peter Obi’s Supporters – APC by anomaly20: 8:41am On Dec 23, 2022
Eriokanmi:
Op, do your own poll and give us your findings. Please be sincere with your data. I just returned from Abuja by 7pm Dana flight which was supposed to have taken off around 5:45pm but was delayed. Abuja airport witnessed an unprecedented crowd today. People were standing, no seats left. Obi's discussions rented the air. Most people I also polled in town said they're voting Peter Obi. The driver that dropped me off at the airport who hails from the middle belt said its obi. He even showed me a Whatsapp group called obidient movements. Tinubu and Atiku aren't popular in abuja which is why I trust in the recent ANAP polls. Obi's acceptance in most places was similar to baba's acceptance in 2015.

I've chosen not to respond to some myopic comments anymore. I read earlier today where urchins mocked rivers campaign turnout, saying edo crowd was the largest. Whereas, Edo campaign rally took place on a Saturday when civil servants and other salary earners were available to attend. Is it possible for Rivers civil servants to leave their jobs and attend a rally on a work day? What of bankers, students, lecturers, salary earners etc? If most of Obi's rallies were held on a Saturday, especially in places where he gains massive support, the crowd would be uncontrollable. Hearing that p-square was coming alone would have pulled more crowd.

That said, instead of attacking and insultng people in their usually habit, this is the best time for urchins to work harder for Emilokan, especially in the core north cos apc is losing members in large number daily. That's what they need to ponder upon, not obidients who have already made up their minds.
Edo state rally was held on a Thursday.
Edo state is the only state that is 100 percent sure for Obi.

Funny you.usibe couldn't win ukelle for himself. How will he win for an outsider? You know yache gives bloc votes, the biggest in ogoja axis..even in ogoja, pdp will do well only in ekajuk.mbube will vote apc

Ayade is in total control of obudu.he made obudu to have the highest voters in the state, his ward ipong has the highest polling units in crs.during the ogoja rerun, vena ran to hide in a police station.even prof akpagu and hon jedy agba are more influential in obudu.pdp will have some votes obanliku courtesy of peter akpanke.bekwarra is with mp3
Usibe was not giving his all during the rerun hence his fallout with Jarigbe.
Ayade manipulation will not work this time around.
The rerun was easy to use security forces to intimidate voters but the general elections is a different ball game.
PoliticsRe: Is Oshiomhole The Best Elected Governor Edo State Has Ever Had? by anomaly20: 8:44am On Dec 19, 2022
In terms of development in Edo state, no one's comes close to Oshobaba.
Obaseki took Edo state 10 years backwards since he came into office.
PoliticsRe: Governor Obaseki Commissions Streetlight Project (Photos). by anomaly20: 2:36pm On Dec 18, 2022
persius555:
Firstly, remember you are on ñairaland where people pour out their entire anger to relieve themselves.
Many don't care to know the history of this project.
Former governor oshiomole built some of these streetlights, modeled after what is obtainable in Lagos state.

Governor Obaseki discovered it was a cesspool of corruption as many of the streetlights were either damaged or not being powered as at when due, while some corrupt politicians and civil servants were getting the allocation diverted to their accounts.

The governor decided to discontinue funding these projects as it was becoming a drain in the state coffers.

Instead, the governor decided to embark on building the Oshiomo power plant, sponsored by Edo state government and other investors.
This power plant is responsible for powering all the 200km route around Benin city, thereby saving the state huge costs that the bureaucratic fat cats were feeding off.

Presently, the whole Benin city is been litted through the night, helping to bring back Nightlife and business now thrives irrespective of time of the day.

In two or three years time, the entire Benin city street would be centrally litted.
The whole Benin City is lit through the night? What manner of lies is this?
Some of the street lights have even stopped working from Ikpoba river to third junction, some in New Benin, Ugbowo they is no working street lights just poles, from Ring Road to wire road no street and even Ekehuan road no street lights.
Osiomo power plant is only benefitting the persons in government.

As for senate, jarigbe will only win in ogoja.
Usibe will deliver Ukelle, Odey will surely deliver Yache, and Okpoma and Okuku is 50/50 between Offiono and Jude.
Ogoja is the difference maker with Jarigbe delivering.

Obudu is for PDP with Vena leading the charge and this is the only LGA that is sure for Ayade

Allow me put records straight.
I'm an edo man and I agree with most of the comments here that obaseki shouldn't have being the one present in such occassioning.

About your last sentence, they are not solar lamps. They are powered by the edo state gas power plant. It's the first of its kind in Nigeria. A state independent generating plant capable of powering the whole of Edo houses but for now the plant serves the street lights around edo state from (6 to 6) and some selected communities already enjoy 24hrs electricity.
By selected Areas , you mean Government house, secretariat and house of Assembly.
Even the street lights are not working.
Ugbowo axis dead, Ikpoba hill dead, Sakponba Road nonexistent and others.
Obaseki is worse than failure

PoliticsPDP Loss In The Yala/ogoja Federal Constituency Bye Elections A Lesson For The N by anomaly20(op): 11:10pm On Feb 27, 2022
While it is no longer news that the PDP lost to the APC in its traditional stronghold in Cross River State, there a few lessons for the Party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

1. Choosing a candidate from a region that has poor votes return: One of the mistake the PDP did was giving the ticket to the Ukelle axis all in a bid for equality sake.
Ukelle axis, did not deliver the needed votes for their son and this should be taken into consideration when giving the presidential ticket.
The party should avoid giving the south east its ticket for the now, if it wants to reclaim the seat of presidency it should only give the south east if the APC does same. As the voters apathy from the south east should be taken to heart.

2. Proper campaign: The PDP choice of Calabar as against Okpoma or Igoli for its final campaign rally was a poor choice.
Taking the rally to Okpoma or Igoli was giving the people a sense of belonging and actually sending their message to the electorates who have a say in the elections directly.
And the APC understood this perfectly.

3. Imposition of candidates: The PDP should avoid imposition of candidates. Mike Usibe was imposed by Sen. Jarigbe against the wishes of majority of the party members and the result is the defeat of the party by the APC.

4. The party should know that politics is local and that elections are not won on social media. The party also needs to know that there's no more a traditional stronghold again and as such it should go back to the basic, and start grassroot mobilization.
