sewenswepzy: Good morning house Im a graduate of medical laboratory science graduated with. I intend progressing my career by opting for masters in Public Health. I finished with a 2.2 making my chances of securing admission to the program very slim. I intend pursuing a post graduate diploma in Health Analytics or health informatics 1 year program. On successful completion of my health analytics program or health informatics. I intend applying for the Masters in public health. I have the following questions 1. Is it possible to secure a masters degree admission with a PGD certificate judging by the fact that the Bsc result bears a 2.2 2. If possible, is it possible to get another study permit for the msc program while in Canada. If possible what are the chances of getting rejected. Is it high or u are sure of getting a study permit as long as uve secured ur admission 3. Will this qualify me for a 3years PGWP to get a chance to apply for PR.
Thanks. 1) its possible but only if your grades at the end of your study are good. If there are you can apply for a masters 2)After your 1yr PGD program and which to further for a masters, you dont apply for another study permit but rather you apply for an extension of your stay by mostly submitting the new admission letter (masters or PGD) and statement of account to show you can handle your tuition and living expenses for at least a year. The chances are high as long as you submit those documents, hardly get denied and feedback takes at least a month. 3) yes it will if the its a total of 2yrs(first program and the second) NB if you are insisting on doing the masters, you can go ahead with 1yr PGD and den the masters but if you ain't, you just apply for a 2yrs PGD program which saves you the stress of applying for an extension of your stay. |

Ichiebillion: Helo guys, I judging from the input of our experienced gurus here, one can easily deduct that going for 1yr PGC will be hard to get PR. please gurus my questions are: Can 3 semesters of study qualify as a 2 year programme? the college offers 2 semesters of course work and the third semester is for co-op/ unpaid placement. can it fly as regards in getting PR as study?
Secondly, my second choice of school offers 2 years of study. the first 3 semesters are for course work while the last semester is for co-op. though the programme of studies in this one clearly stated that it's a 2 year programme.
N/B my questions are as regards to PR issues, so as not to be caught off guard. 1) it should be stated on schools course info the length of course though I doubt a 3semester program is 2yrs. 2) Good, it was clearly stated. Whixh is the one that can help you towards PR. |

dayjeee: Thank you sir. The reason why I decided I want to go for the diploma course is because of the fee, its cheaper than PGD/C Secondly, most of the PGD/C i have seen are 1year program, and I want a 2year program, in order to get 2 to 3 years PGWP, and that's is what most diploma offer.
The reason I wanted to go for management related courses is because it will be a little bit easier to secure a job in a qualified NOC if i want to apply for PR. Moreso, I have more than 2 years work experience as a CSO in a financial institution.
I will still appreciate your contribution and direction. Thank you For the bolded, you will have issues when it gets to applying for visa. Imagine a VO sees your BSc certificate and then sees you have an admission for a diploma. Theres no career/academic progression there. Thats an easy denial "Purpose of visit". I will encourage you to stick with a PGC. |

beeodun24: Hello
Please I need advice from all the experienced people here.
I submitted my online study permit application since May 29 2020 for resumption in September 3 and I haven’t gotten any response yet. Not even for medicals. I sent an email and I was informed that most VO’s are under staffed and the application will be processed in due time.
But the deadline for full tuition is 14 August. This caused me to defer my admission to Jan 2021, which has been approved.
My issue now is, do I have to inform the VO of the deferral? Will it have any negative effect on my application? I’m very hopeful that it will end in praise but on the other hand if it doesn’t, is it advisable to reapply for another permit?
Thank you. Wait for your school to send the updated admission letter for January den you send via webform. Google "Canadian webform", the rest is easy to fill and attach the new admission letter. It will end in praise |

Time2soar: 5 months? which school is that? I am talking about University of New Brunswick, I got admission about a month after the completion of my application though that was about two months after I submitted an incomplete application because some referee were missing and I was also contacted for a detail resume which delayed the admisssion process. Okay... Well.. I am talking based on masters application of my own brother for Brandon university.. We waited 5months + and at the end of the wait, he wasnt issued the admission. I might be wrong there but i was talking based on experience |

Foski01: If one's first application is unsuccessful, how long before they are eligible to reapply? as soon as you can but its best you take your time, apply for your gcms note and repackage your application |

Time2soar: The admission decision is about a month after your application is complete. The information on the FAQ is for general purpose but the MBA have rolling admission policy which means they make a decision on your application once it is complete usually within a month.
They will usually contact you if your application is missing any referee or document but the only status update you will get on the application portal is the admission or refusal notice. But its been 5months and not a word |

aliadi2: Thank for the reply Anon. But i heard you can apply with one school and change it. So do you mine its not possible while your study application is ongoing but its possible after i have been approved. Its only possible wen you have an approved SP. You can change courses or schools. Remember you filled an IMM form indicating the school and other related details about the school you submitted the admission letter with. So imagine all that plus your sop is about school A and you submit a new admission letter for school B... Thats purpose of visit denial I will say.. If your school can defer your admission to the next session cos that might be wat is delaying your application |

And i am pretty sure that Canadian education will help boost your score if you have foreign education and work experience. There are so many programs to get Pr from Canada Kindly stop giving people wrong information. Not worth replying this load of crap. Move along Cathneblack |

NairaLuck: No it's not. Mark my post cause I'm going for 1yr and you'll see how it works. Everything is based on CRS points. Age is there, Educational Qualification is there, Canadian education is there, IELTS is there, lastly Canadian work experience is there and in some case Lmia is there.
If the above doesn't work, while studying in Canada, a new pilot might be launched and since you're in Canada, you can easily take advantage of it.
Everything boils down to information, like Noel Abi usually say, just worry about getting your SP approved, then leave the rest Okay o |

Cathneblack: I don’t know where people get the notion of 1 year program doesn’t qualify you for Pr. Please stop giving out wrong information Hmmm... Instead of accusing me for the bolded why not give me a link that says a 1yr program qualifies you for a PR.. Stop arguing when you have little to no proof to your claim. I dont get why people here are not constructive when they are not in agreement to something, why must they lash out. |

Bigwayne: It is important to know your CRS score if you intend to use the Express Entry route eventually to get your PR after studies in Canada. The express entry route requires a program of at least 8 months and 8 months of physical presence in Canada to be able to claim points for Canadian education. People get PR as federal skilled workers within months of graduating. To say that it is impossible is false. To say that it is a bigger safety net to go for a 2 year program for a 3 yr pgwp is true. It helps to apply through the Canadian Experience class. Within 3 years you can get a 1 year work experience under the appropriate NOC and apply through the CEC. That is express entry and not study permit. |

buggi102kruse: Good day Fam
PLS, does anyone know if a 30weeks/7months PGC program will be eligible for 1yr PGWP? YES! At least a 2yrs program gets you a 3yrs PGWP. Mind you a 1yr program doesnt qualify you for a PR but a 2yrs. So if you go ahead with the 30weeks/7months program, it means you need to enrol for an additional program before the end of thr 1st program to make it 2yrs. |
