Muslimity: In the below citation from CICNEWS, I will appreciate if you could help me clarify what it means. Does it mean that if I declare I have no family ties to Canada I am at disadvantaged? If I declare I have a family ties to Canada, does it mean it will strenghten my chances? Does this Canadian family ties replace Family ties to Home country which hitherto used as a proof that I will return to my home country after study? Kindly enlighten me, please.
How to obtain a study permit for fall 2020 The first stage is much like the regular study-permit process. International students have to submit:
1. letter of acceptance; 2. Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (for Quebec students only); 3. proof of funds; 4. proof that they can leave Canada when they no longer have legal temporary or permanent status; and 5. any family ties to Canada. Is you son going to Quebec? |

Muslimity: Thanks for the swift response. Kindly educate me on what I can hold onto as justification for submitting the study permit now now for a program starting in Sept 2021. Does RICC's temporary fast-track application processing for Fall 2020 also cover Fall 2021 programs? Any verifiable reference will be appreciated. Thanks. I said yes cos the current processing time for every application is 22weeks and also almost all applications is likely to be approvals cos canada is trying to make money after they have lost a lot during the pandemic, also the processing time might change either up or down considering the amount of application received and next year it will go up cos of post covid-19, also vaccine being available. If you apply now and let's say you get a positive decision by October ,your passport will be stamped from the date on your admission letter. Or you can wait till maybe january but IRCC might be stricter than they are now |

Ysakaws1: Hello gurus, please how long does the entire student visa processing takes? (I know it is not specific, but I need like a minimum and maximum days it could take for me to get the visa). I am planning to apply this month and my school says I have to pay fees by October 15 latest. My sponsor wouldn’t pay any dime until he sees the visa, so I’m worried if I apply now, the visa status may still be unknown by that October 15. You can apply for visa without paying a dime on the tuition but its always good to pay a deposit to show a bit of genuineness of your intensioñs to study.. The standard time for visa processing is 22weeks but not certain cos it fluantuates based on number of application received. |

Toluchenko: Hello everyone,
I am quite new here. Pardon if I am asking a question that has been asked before.
I saw on this thread that the proof of living expenses that the Visa office requires form my sponsor is 10,000 CAD. However the estimated living expenses on the pdf file that my University sent is more than 10,000 CAD (about 24,000 CAD; accommodation, meals, books and supplies e.t.c). Which do you think the Visa office will consider?? 10,000 CAD or the one my school requires??
Also, peradvaenture I defer till January (winter 2021), can I start processing my Visa from now? hope it's not too early? For the bolded.. Thats your school offering you thoses facilities.. Focus more on your tuition unless you have their 24kcad to spend. You should consider that of the visa offfice. Yes you can apply for your visa. In fact this is the best time to apply since you are deffering to January |

Lekiboboe: I didn't do Upfront Medicals as well, nor got a medical request, and I got AIP, in which I was told that my application has advanced to the next stage of processing.
Though Reviewing of Eligibility & Background Check is still on.
@Anon123, what does this signify
- should I await a Medical Request? - Do an Upfront Medical? - or i should await further instructions from IRCC?
Thanks I will advise you do the bolded but if you have money for the upfront medicals .. Do it to save th stress of asking |

silvamania: Good day All,
I got admitted for a one year MBA with 29500CAD . I have paid compulsory 1,000CAD with a balance of 28,500
All my efforts to raise fund wasn’t really forthcoming but I’m my savings account I have #11.7M
Is it advisable to apply with this amount ?
Thanks in advance Convert $38,500cad ( 28,500tuition + 10,000 living expenses) if its less than 11.7m, you can proceed with your application. |

Minah2020: Wow thank you for your insight... I am really grateful. God bless.
But what if I decide to go for the college and also go for a year masters afterwards, is the student permit renewable? Yes.. You apply for an extension with the masters admission. To do that you need to apply the masters admission 7months before you graduate. Reason being that masters admission takes 5-6months before a decision is made to issue you an admission or not.. |
