I just stopped laughing.

Something I'm used to happened today. A guy that I had politely refused last year came to me this morning. He immediately told me he has a job now. Told me the full name of the company and everything else. Then he started asking me aggressively about where I have reached in life and all that.

I chatted normally with him, I told him I was happy for him. Later, he asked if he could call me at a certain time. When I told him he could, he started saying that it was not so before, that before, my anthem was that he cannot reach me for various excuses.

I laughed, because, I now understood the whole issue. He believed it was because of money that I didn't allow him access to me anyhow. I just told him that he shouldn't worry because my phone was bad. He continued to reply in a sour tone. The funny thing is that I have no business with his money, because I am sure that none will land in my palm...so why would i be tripping because he got a job?

Another guy I rejected politely acted normal at the time. But after years he came back, asking me with full spite about my marital status and my job. Lol. He told me how he has a company now. I knew that was true because I had seen evidence of it growing and info about it in public over the years. He insisted that we should be dating now. But it couldn't happen because i knew he was just bitter, and thought that i should fall now because he has made it.

Guys, its not all about the money. Some women don't use your money to survive. Some have parents and don't really care to be bound in chains because of indomie and egg, credit, or sharwama. There are more serious issues. E.g the relationship should be going somewhere. Sometimes its tribal or religious, maybe she knows her parents wont accept you. Why would a woman smell what she won't eat, just because of your feelings?

I have always disliked the idea of graduating from school after full 4 years and having to work for someone who'd pay me less than 200k/mnt.

Hence my desire to start saving 5k everyday for 2 years now, started in my 200level when I was 18, and I'm in my finals now. ( Over 2m saved )...

Wow! You have driven all these big trucks? You have the experience already that is good.

Driviing school? Well.. when i did my HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicles) driving lessons i think in 2012 it cost me £800 for few lessons but, i failed 4 times, you have to do the theory and practical lessons but for an exprienced driver like you, you wouldn't need alot of lessons, what you need to learn mainly will be road signs, road awareness and few more and also we drive on the right hand, the stiring wheels are also on the right side but in some European countries they drive on the left with left hand wheels.

Also to be able to obtain the HGV license you need to obtain a car license first that you would need lessons on also and you will pay also.

Anyway, you don't have to do these things straightaway. You can do it when you are settlled properly, you might even begin with working in some other menial jobs until you can become a trucker.

I am not sure how much would be enough. Save as much as possible.

If you are it will help, but the difference is you must go for a driving lessons, pratical and theorically and pass before you can get a drivers license over here. If you truck over here for 3 years yes! You should have more than £50000 in your bank depending on how you spend but why go back to naija if you can drive for more years in Europe and make more money?

A train driver takes home between £37000 and £45000 a year..

I started with MAN diesel before I graduated to Mack, I have also driven DAF,HOWO and the SCANIA p410 I am currently driving. approach people and ask especially those touts after the bridge. I personally haven't worked in onitsha yet to know much about the place. But there is a construction company in awka that is currently handling the airport bring built. You can still stroll there and meet any of the drivers available

I got my first driving licence when i was 17 years old, I started working in burger bars and supermarkets at 18. I am not sure how to explain. I was born and bred in east london England by nigerian parents (IGBO) i have always worked part time during school holidays. I believe you are going to need a visa and work permit for work

However, there are also nigerians and Ghanians i worked with as truckers and train drivers who have lived here for years. I am not sure how much you would need to relocate to Europe. If you already know someone in Europe it might help.

ehn no wonder na. When I said hammering I was already calculating the pay converted to naira. Working for like just 3years and I would retire come back and open a multinational company oo. I want to work first and save money. But can't you serve as someone I know when the time comes? We where brought up and taught to fend for ourselves. I have one uncle in germany who was sponsored there by my dad. After I returned from turkey and he heard he was virtually laughing at me and my dad that he has always been telling us that travelling to abroad is not easy but I do see it common among siblings helping each other out. when you are reversing a small car, luxurious bus or even trucks that don't have a turn table(google for more info pls) it goes exactly where you gear the steering towards but in the case of a truck head with turn table hooked to a trailer it's opposite of where the steering is moved to.

There are no hammering! it just driving trucks, but you are right, the driving conditions are better here. We use Tacograph and we must take break after 3 to 4 hours or 6 hours driving the Taco will indicate when breaks are due. We have bed, TV, airconditioner, heating and somewhere to hang cloths in our cabins. Sometimes it can be very cold, no rushing, once we deliver we drive home empty, we also stay in hotels sometimes (the company pays)

But this moment i am driving trains. Due some EU covid 19 restrictions on truck driving I am not vaccinated yet.

how did you go about getting a job oversees. What are the procedures. And like how much is someone still situated in Nigeria is supposed to have saved to even have a chance. It's something I am really interested in when I have gotten the means. And you are just being polite if you insist there is no hammering.
