Ikengawo: You can't learn a new accent. You can learn how enunciate better so that you're more understood across the board but you can't switch accents

you can either sound like an articulate Nigeria
or an illiterate Nigeria

but you'll never sound like a brit or an american. It's scientifically impossible and unnessecary.
U really don't know what u are talking about, u don't even know much about English in the 1st place given the quality of ur grammar here. U are saying rubbish stuff like it is scientifically impossible to learn an accent when there are professional accent coaches. Why do u think that most Europeans (e.g Germans, Dutch and the Scandinavians) speak English without strong accent like urs? they don't just learn to speak English grammar alone, they pay incredible emphasis on the accent. Hence the reason why they employ only native English Speakers as English teachers. Are they ashamed to be who they are? If u immigrate to an English speaking country.. u will be advised to visit language centers where u will be coached to speak English without accent as an essential part of integration (in short, how to speak their type of English) so if all these things exist and u are talking of scientific impossibility, u are scarily uninformed?
TravelRe: Do You Flaunt Or Hide Your Nigerian Passport When Travelling? by Anvaller: 3:55pm On Jul 01, 2013
The only other people who'd recognize a Nigerian passport apart from fellow Nigerian travellers would be immigration officers, who you'd have to present to the passport to anyways.

Hiding has nothing to do with being embarrassed by state of Nigeria. The ones who flaunt foreign passports do so for the benefit of other Nigerians (show off) and the ones who hide Nigerian passports suffer from inferiority complex.
The comment I most agree with, this is almost exactly what I was about to write, however I want to expound.

I have never had any reason to feel like I should hide my passport and I have traveled around quite considerably. The point is no one will harrass u for holding a Nigerian passport except the immigration officers which u will have to present it to anyways. And I have never been treated badly apart from some extra checks sometimes, or extra questioning which never bothered me cos I always expected it.

Little advice... Ppl, when u are travelling with Naija P and u seem to have been treated a little bit differently, the best way to handle it is to be calm and cooperative... In most cases (at least from my experiences) they will end up apologizing for taking ur time and even try to explain the reason why they are suspicious and bla bla.

But sometimes, I see ppl immediately starting to argue with them loudly and claiming this and that right. Personally I think this is not the best way to act and it even makes u look more bad as a Nigerian, it doesn't matter if u are not guilty of anything, just behave properly. When they see how articulate, coherent and how intelligently u are answering and asking them questions, they will respect u.

However, I have heard terrible exceptional cases of how Nigerians are treated badly without any justification but I hope never to experience such.

Aderostock: All these your cheap lies won't work. football clubs are mostly owned all over the world by private entities/bodies. why must Fashola create a football club when he has already provided well equipped stadia all over the state? its now left to the private bodies to make use of them.
But some things are not politically correct.. He should have done this kind of thing when he is retired as a governor. That is when he can live his private life. Now he is living for Lagos State he should represent sport brand of his state or his country. If he loves football, why not cut the cake of Super Eagles' brand?
TravelRe: Nigerians And Fake Accent by Anvaller: 3:18pm On Jun 30, 2013
Godogwu: I don't think you have to change your accent in order to communicate in any English speaking country in the world. As long as you went to school in Nigeria ( which is an English speaking country btw) and you studied Grammar and phonetics, you should have no problem communicating. There are so many examples in our society today; from onyeka owenu to joke silva, omotola, Genevieve nnaji, sanusi lamido, GEJ, Ngozi Okonjo iweala etc. most of these people have spoken on CNN, BBC and other international medias and not once has the interviewer said "pardon?", " could you repeat your statement?" Or anything of a sort because they speak clear and proper English.
I find people who switch their accents back and forth only after a couple of weeks or months abroad very silly and ridden by inferiority complex.
Do u think u are actually accurate with ur comments here? Now u are talking of grammar and phonetics? All these people u have mentioned here... let me exclude (Genevive and Omotola) have one time or the other sojourned abroad. And if Omotola and Genevive were not celebrities, they wouldn't speak such improved English they are speaking cos they still make international travels and appearances. And again,it will be very awkward for them to speak a foreign accent when they represent a Nigerian public office... Even Banky W an entertainer speaks Nigerian accent cos he represnts a Nigerian Brand but back in America he speaks American that's just it.. Now the group of people that obey the rules of phonetics the most in Nigeria are some of the News casters and I appreciate them, they are not adopting accent, they are just applying phonetics, even if they still sound Nigerian, they are not misplacing the stress on each words and that is the most important.

But do u want to tell me that is the way u speak? U speak like a news caster with ur friends and families at home huh? and they wont ask u "wetin dey do am wey dey form? abeg open ur mouth well jare, wetin be baenk instead of bahnk (bank)" So that is actually our problem.. Its not about not being proud of who u are, it's about ppl thinking u are forming and the next thing is to tear u down.
TravelRe: Nigerians And Fake Accent by Anvaller: 3:04pm On Jun 30, 2013
50calibre: All these people saying if you don't fake an accent, you won't be understood, don't know what they are talking about.

If you hear a proper Scottish accent, you will run away. It's thicker than the thickest Igbo accent, yet when a proper scot is speaking, he expects you to understand what he is saying, he doesn't in any way try to modify his accent. The responsibility falls on the listener to understand what you are saying, not you.

Even in America, you can detect an accent in people of Hispanic, Caribbean or Asian descent.

The only accent I feel like imitating, is the Jamaican accent, it's crazy.

All of them = ala them!
Yes = yah Man!
Okay there u said "detect" that means they sound more american now that u only have to "detect" elements of Jamaican or some carribean inflection in the way they speak for u to know tha they don't originally have the american accent.. most of them do not speak english exactly in the accent the folks at home speak..

About the Scottish accent.. Look ppl, why are we over-whipping this issue, What u have said there can not in most cases apply to Scots that have lived most or many years of their lives somewhere else. So that is not a point here. Somebody also referred to Italians.. well, there are many Italians in America that sounds very as american as possible. So what's the point?

Another person said "the white man don't want to speak like us so why do we have to speak like them..." Well this is not a rational reasoning. We Africans, blacks are always in a situation where we are at the mercy of these white folks.. u want to get their job, u want to live in their country, u want to survive within their system so what sense does it make to question why they don't speak like u speak when they come to ur country? Do they have to? When they are not at ur mercy for their survival? In fact that point is immediately defeated when u speak English and not ur local language abroad.

If u do not like or u are not able to adopt an accent,, its okay but stop running those that want to down or criticizing them if they can do it properly..
TravelRe: Nigerians And Fake Accent by Anvaller: 2:31pm On Jun 30, 2013
Ikengawo: this is a lie.

IF YOU ARRIVE INTO A COUNTRY PAST THE AGE OF 20 YOUR ACCENT WON'T GO AWAY
youe vocal cords are done developing and won't change, you will have a nigerian accent for life, which there's nothing wrong with. But all of these nigerians come here and try to fake accents like fools not knowing the rest of us went to school

people are even mocking the 'nigerian accent' because the only accent westerners hear is the FAKE american and FAKE british one so they think we all talk like Kermit The Frog. I tell them that any nigerian that talks like that is using a fake accent and they look at me in puzzlement wondering why someone would fake an accent for any reason as if we don't know they're from Africa. Nigerians are only fooling themselves with that shit, everyone knows it's fake and sound like a creature. Use your natural accent, oyibo women love accents but your fools are trying to toast women talking like a frog. chie.
Though I have not read thru all the comments here but I completely disagree with this. The accent thing is not a black or white thing, it's not about uir accent going away, it's about picking ip an accent or adopting an accent. Its a kind of ability, it's a skill. Some ppl can fake accent and fake it perfectly and at that point, I don't call it faking accent anymore, I call it "doing an accent" Its like one's ability to know how to sing. Some ppl can never do an accent no matter how many years they have lived abroad because they do not have the ability but that doesn't mean that it will hinder their over all success. Some attempt doing it and it turns out terrible... okay this are the group of ppl I really have problem with. If u can't do an accent perfectly, speak the proper Nigerian accent that u have and be proud of it.

I agree with some of the @delor's comments that I have seen here, he is really making good points... There is no reason to crucify ppl doing an accent if they can do it perfectly. From my own experience, if u are in North America, it goes a long way for u to achieve a lot of things from jobs, relating with people and all that if u can do the american accent. It has a lot of advantage... U will get away with a lot of stuffs just because they think u are one of them from the way u speak. Go and ask the american or canadian immigrants (most especially the new ones) not to do the american accent if they can, some of them will tell u that they wouldn't even mind to buy the ability at any cost if possible.

The problem is, we blacks like to run ourselves down for trivial irrelevant reasons. We need to grow beyond this and move forward. But my advice to those forcing it.. If u can't do an accent properly, maintain ur Nigerian accent cos a horrible fake accent is a turn off for ppl.. And even if u can perfectly do an accent, don't use the accent while communicating with Naija folks, it comes off very rude and in fact u are not being real at that point.
Christianity EtcRe: Should We Use Hip-hop Or Fuji To Sing Choruses In Church? by Anvaller: 1:53pm On Jun 30, 2013
faithinnaija: what are the origins of all these music genres? Many of us accepts what the generality accept and its quite a pity.
Correct.. Everywhere in the world, different genres are inspired by different events or happenings at a time in history. And from country to country, there are genres of music inspired by religion. So why abandon such genres and cross carpet to stuffs like hard-rock which is inspired by satanism or rap which is inspired by black freedom events in the US and later nurtured by gangsters, hooligans and street hustlers. Xtianity as a religion is supposed to inspire other groups but to the reverse, other groups are inspiring xtianity... What a joke.
Christianity EtcRe: Should We Use Hip-hop Or Fuji To Sing Choruses In Church? by Anvaller: 1:43pm On Jun 30, 2013
PHIPEX: I personally don't have a problem with what you wrote above but what I don't agree to is a situation where a song sang by a hip-hop artiste is rephrased/remixed and brought to the church. Buchi, kirk frankline etc have brands and use a genre they are known with, even if they change their genre It's different from where for instance Tu-face's African Queen is brought to the church and perhaps remixed and someone who is a catholic comes out to claim that he's singing it to Virgin Mary or when a well known D' banj's song is remixed and used for Praise and worship in a pentecostal church. To me that's a show of hypocricy and insecurity among christians because it makes us neither hot nor cold. If it's all about your heart as someone said earlier, what stops us from inviting MI, P-square and Tu-face to lead us in praise and worship and let's see how much worship you will give to God.
That is the point BUDDY!

There is no problem in using a particular genre, but i have issues when these churches remix a popularly known parental advisory song and just change the lyrics. The beats, the tune and everything else remains the same. That implies that whatever spirit or "anointing" they are claiming to be having at the moment they are singing that song in the church is inspired by the devil. Cos U can't tell me that a remix praise song from original Oliver Twist for example is God inspired.
I look at the choir and I shake my head that if these group of ppl are not hypocritical Christians, should they be listening to these X rated songs in the 1st place talk less of going as far as remixing them to musically frolic in the church all in the name of praising God? Sometimes I wonder why majority are just not logically deep in their reasoning. Or may be some are but they just want to be silly and attribute their silliness to God.

Our mindset needs revamping!
It's very unfortunate. We are not saying that the guy couldn't have been a drug dealer but it remains a speculation until proven. Look at what even Nigerians are saying based on mere speculations... That is so un-smart. A Nigerian taxi driver was recently brutally killed in N.Y and no one connected his killing to drugs. Imagine if the scenario is copy pasted to S.A? There citizens will brandish the story to our face here and tell us how glad they were that the Nigerian is dead cos he is a drug dealer.

The fact that we are aware that some Nigerians deal drugs doesn't mean that we shouldn't demand proves for any accusation against Nigerians.

dasparrow: @Post

Well, let's see what the investigation will uncover. But South Africa na wa oh! Thank God for forums such as this. It has opened my eyes to all the hate and animosity that exists between various African nationalities.
Right sparrow, u see the problem with the black race is that we like to only dwell on our negativeness and our differences. That is why we are backward. Even if a South African knows what and what is good about Nigerians, they will never discuss it cos that doesnt make them feel good... They will discuss and reiterate all the negative things they know about u cos that makes them feel like they are better than u and it makes them feel good.

If not for all the hate from fellow Africans, Nigerians naturally do not have time hating anybody. And its unfortunate we africans behave like this. The only group of non Nigerians that admires and say positive things they know about Nigerians are never Africans. Our fellow Africans will only want to tell us that we are drug dealers and criminals and nothing else.

That shows jealousy and envy period.

chief batiatus: But I have never met a south african selling drugs here, never met one here robbing people, never met any into organized crime, so why should we attack them in nigeria? Ibos are the reason why we are hated in SA, malaysia, Ghana, and recently Kenya. Funny enough Ibos keep deceiving themselves (including educated ones) that people 'just' hate them for no reason! How lopsided a thinking!
Meanwhile, that in bold is never possible, We are no crack heads like them, any one who attempt to sell drugs in Nigeria will run out of business cos their is no market. Look the point is this, I am not defending Nigerians that are criminals abroad, we are aware of the shame they bring to our nation. The problem is the hate and the excuse of using that as a premise to unjustly mistreat, kill, maim, oppress and brutally murder innocent Nigerians. They beat up Ghanaian too, what about the Somalis? What about Mozambicans, Zimbabweans, do they all sell drugs?

If those other immigrants do not sell drugs and they kill them equally gruesomely, that rubbishes the claim that they kill Nigerians because they sell drugs or that if the claim were to be true, all immigrants in South Africa sells drugs. Which of course will be a ridiculous claim anyways so that simply puts the scenario on simple logic...

Defending the right and security of innocent Nigerians does not imply that we are supporting the Nigerian crooks over there, the life of the innocent and enterprising ones is more important than that of the crooks. Remember that the original post did not tell us why he was killed and who killed him... What ppl are against here is the fact that u can't just tell us a story about how a Nigerian that was killed and immediately conclude that the killing was justified cos of ur assumption that he must have been a drug dealer, that means anytime any Nigerian was hurt whether innocent or not, u would get no sympathy or help from a South African cos they have already placed all Nigerians in their drug box. That's shameful.

Ur comment here can not be an observation but just a baseless assumption.

chris365: guy be honest with yourself na. That was a deal gone bad. And Nigerians need to obey laws in other countries so they won't be targeted indiscriminately
Okay u need to tell the somalis that too cos u can see how they are beating the crap out of them also in the below article

Members of the Somali community in South Africa have marched to parliament in Cape Town to protest against recent attacks on foreigners.

Three Somalis have been killed this month and the Somali government has requested the South African authorities to do more to protect their nationals.

About 200 people took part in the protest, holding a banner reading: "Everyone is a foreigner somewhere."

Correspondents say xenophobic attacks have increased recently.

Some of the protesters accused the authorities of not doing enough to prevent attack on foreigners, especially Somalis, or prosecute those responsible.

Two Somali brothers were allegedly hacked to death with an axe in the northern Limpopo province on Thursday night.

Last week, Abdi Nasr Mahmoud was stoned to death in Port Elizabeth.

Mohamed Aden Osman told the BBC that criminals saw Somalis as "soft targets".

According to the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, South Africans are becoming "increasingly desensitised" to attacks on foreigners, The Sowetan newspaper reports.

The BBC's Mohammed Allie in Cape Town says the violence is linked to the massive unemployment among young South Africans.

In the past two decades, many thousands of Somalis have fled conflict at home and moved to South Africa, where many have opened small shops and kiosks in townships.

From the above, I would guess all immigrants in South Africa are drug dealers huh?

@zetdee that started this thread is just a stvpid xenophobic dim wit whose intention is to extend his brutal xenophobic agenda beyond their borders through internet. But u should be ashamed of yourself cos as u can see, we are liberal and civilized ppl to even have allowed you a freedom of expression in our forum in spite of being disrespectful. It will take u and ur shameless intolerant folks a 100 years to learn how to be that tolerant. If u are claiming that Nigerians are selling drugs, my question is to whom? if selling it makes them criminal so all of u that are buying it from them are equally criminal of the same gravity.

COOLDUN: Listen to me , i have lived most of my life in the western world, in 1999 when Spain won the tournament in Nigeria, i was in one second team of one of the Andalusian Southern Spain clubs one of our players whom his senior brother played in the Spanish U-21 team was 23yrs by then, I was always teasing him with that.

If you think that the western countries are not cheating in these age grade football, shows that you can believe everything. I, believe you know that the declaration of age is never any African local language. 1987 U-17 in Canada which was won by the USSR almost exposed some countries. One Nigerian player asked one USSR player whether he was one of his country's officials or a player then. After the protest FIFA president openly told the world then, that hence there is no technology to dictate the real age of a person, that FIFA was basing on the information on the player's international passport.Even the newly invented technology is not 100% accurate.

I will continue to argue with you that no country features the real age in these age grade competitions.Look around you in any country you are and see the people that are 20 years old.
OK its all good, my intention is not to continue to argue with you... I accept your points. But meanwhile, 20 year old white boy usually looks 5 years older than our own 20 years old on the average and I believe u also know this, So sometimes to our own eyes, they look very old but they are actually younger than u can ever guess. I am just saying. The reason why I agree with ur points is because u talked about other stuffs apart from looks. Looks can be deceiving cos they usually look older and to their own eyes, they usually also think we are young even if we are older than they can ever guess... U see now where I am coming from? However I accept ur points.
SportsRe: South Korea Vs Nigeria - U20 World Cup On 27th June 2013 by Anvaller: 4:34pm On Jun 27, 2013
COOLDUN: I have watched closely the faces and statures of all these Nigerian players and discovered that they are really young boys, i now doubt the people who criticize Nigeria for age cheating. Even if they are not exactly U-21 , they are in the same age group with other participants in this tournament.

FIFA, knew very well that there is no technology to dictate accurately the real age of a person, this tournament was inaugurated on the 27Th of May 1977 in Tunisia by the former FIFA president Juao Havalenche to expand the game of football and its development, while in 1985 the U-17 followed in China, these tournaments have helped in discovering and developing of so many talented players in every continent. Olympic football was changed to the U-23 in Barcelona 1992 Olympic for the same purpose.

It's a pity that many Nigerians would be online forums that have a lot of foreigners and criticize/accuse their country players for being over aged, which other countries citizen never do for any reason. Nigerians should know that no country in the world features exactly players in these ages. They are the same age grade. If you cheat with 1 age its the same with one who cheated with 100 years, because CHEAT IS CHEAT.Nigerians should mind how to insult themselves online.
I dont agree with u.. there are countries coming here without cheating. Those coming from developed countries.. most especially western europe are not cheating because they have records of birth properly documented.. so if they attempt to cheat they will be easily exposed.
Secondly, those Europeans grow very well, I know what I am saying, I played in recreational football league in Europe, at age 17-19 u will guess their ages to be 25-26 cos most of them are looking very grown with beard.. As at that time I was 27 years old playing with guys around 22-23 and they actually thought I was their age mate cos I didn't look any older than them

This is their mentality, they write this kind of bullshit and U Nigerians are embracing it.

Tell me, how does this apply to a typical Nigerian man? It is known worldwide that we are hardworking, family oriented and provide for our women not our women providing for us except in very exceptional cases. This is for black american men not us... Ppl be careful with allowing what u see online to cloud ur mentality and subliminally change ur perception of ur ownself, we are not like this pls, we don't have the black men vs black women divide that they have which necessitates them to be apologizing to themselves, our men are hard working and our women are responsible and take care of their husband and their kids we don't have the issues the black americans have in their community so why do we have to identify with this.. ? I don't know how many Nigerian men that are not willing to do what a man should do, like go to school, get a job, get married and take care of his family even in the face of hardship.

Total BS!!!
PoliticsRe: Senate To Scrap N18,500 Minimum Wage by Anvaller:
stagger: I have been an advocate of scrapping a minimum wage, because it locks out those who can work for less than N18000 from the system.

I say we scrap the minimum wage, and instead replace it with a Back-to-Land program where land is allocated to every civil servant in Nigeria to farm, and a one-time farming grant issued to all to cultivate their farms. They can be arranged into farming communes for communal cultivation, harvest and sale. We should focus more on such stuff than on consistently maintaining a minimum wage system that is obviously not sustainable.

Indeed, HOW MANY STATES ARE EVEN PAYING THE MINIMUM WAGE?
I have a serious objection to ur suggestion. 1st of all u are proposing a policy that seems selfish and insensitive. 2ndly, u are looking at the entire situation from a ridiculously myopic standpoint. 3rdly, the solution u presented is not relevant to the suggestion u raised.

From the 1st point, if u say minimum wage should be scrapped, then more employers will exploit more employees.. I would not even waste time expounding on that cos it's a known theory in labor issues worldwide.

On the second point, u can not draw inference from the case of ur butler and use that to generalize when it's a know fact that the majority can not meet their daily needs due to under payment. U derive reality based on the majority and not based on exceptions.

On the third point, sending ppl to farm can not be a solution to wage issues. U are talking about job creation. Job creation can not be a solution for minimum wage because even if u provide job for everybody, u still have to define how wages are to be paid.

From all u wrote, what I think u should have advocated for is redefinition of minimum wage. And I will give u an example from the same instance u used. U are saying that ur employee had little to do hence it wouldn't have been justifiable to pay him 18k meanwhile it was a good deal for him to get it at 12k since he was able to double jobs somewhere else. In that case, U should have thought about wage per hour of work. If we pay minimum wage per hour in Nigeria, u wouldn't have over or under paid ur employee.. All u need to do is calculate how many hours he is working for u per day. From the current N18000, u would have paid him approximately N100 per hour of work, if he works for u for just 5 hours/day, he gets approximately N12000 salary (depending on whether he works in the weekends or not) that is what u are paying him now. Whether u will deduct rent and feeding from his salary is left to u to decide.

In short, there is no economics without minimum wage, u have suggested the impossible... U can only suggest a redefinition or restructuring of our minimum wage.

All politicians in Nigeria will just come and promise jobs... Leaving ppl in perpetual hope. This man shouldn't have sang the same song. I would expect him to be talking more about bringing in industries, his strategies to raise commercial activities in new sectors in the state which will in turn open up job opportunities for ppl across class and skill levels. And then lets see him doing that 1st. Are they already doing that?

Well he said arrangement has been made... Very vague statement. This is it, If arrangement has been made, that means there are jobs already to offer these group of people, they have already worked hard and came up with something for this people. In that case, Why would the governor still keep it secret? Or may be there are actually no job but a plan to empower them, why not drop a hint? A politician will not have a brilliant initiative and not brag about it when they brag about stup1d ones.

U know what, I believe no arrangement has been made. He only made not even a promise but an assurance that seems so empty. It would have been a different scenario if he said "we are looking at how we can bla bla" then in that case he has not promised but he is willing to do something about empowering area boys. But when u said arrangement has been made and u can't drop a hint? I ponder.

In some cases, U deposit the bail sum but in this case, he is likely going to make a bail bond (just like another poster has expounded) But the latter option is not all that easy either because u don't just concoct some documents and say eh! here is bail bond. U actually have to present real assets of which the value is worth the bail sum and which will be an outright forfeiture in case of default. The question is, would he claim to have an asset of such value? Does he have friends or family who can claim that? remember that not so many billionaires can beat their chest about the legitimacy of the source of their riches and those that can might not be his friend so close to be willing to take such risk. I think it will all depend on how much his party ACN is willing to help him.
Science/TechnologyRe: Magician Dynamo Levitates From The Roof Of A London Bus by Anvaller: 1:07am On Jun 25, 2013
turl: 1 There's no bus 543 in London.
2 The fake bus suggests the passengers are part of the show.
3 The arm on the bus looks weird in some shots so I'm guessing its fake.

I'm guessing the fake hand on the bus is connected to a structure that holds him around the groin area so that's where majority of his weight rests. That would explain how he can swing his legs freely..

Nice stunt though, although one part of me was hoping the driver wouldn't pass through some of those narrow roads.
If the guy jam pole na em be say show don finish o
Thanks buddy, u are really thinking. I had been trying to unravel the trick cos i know its a trick, not actual magic, nothing metaphysical. The effect he pulled has the usual xteristics of the illusionist's gimmicks. Why was his hand on the bus all of the time? That is why I respect ur suspicion. U know what? in that case, I wanna believe that that is where the secret of the trick lies. So, i have further suspicion that the hand is not his, his real hand is tucked in his shirt and the other hand is his. Now the fake hand on the bus has a steel reinforcement that runs thru it and across the roof of the bus and the steal has a comfortably carved metal suit that he will be hanging on before wearing all the normal casual wears. What people would not see is how he lifted from the ground and levitated beside the bus and how he came back down. U would have to leave that for behind closed doors.

There are 2 sides to this judgment. When a court imposes such a ridiculously high bail condition on an accused, it must be that the validity of the allegations is somewhat evident so much that the court is not genuinely willing to let the convict out on bail... Since he has right to bail, the court then offers conditions that he may likely unable to fulfill. In that case he will remain in detention.
On the other hand, if he fulfills this bail condition, it will jeopardize his defense because the plaintiff's lawyer will capitalize on that to nail him completely. "How can a speaker who is originally a mere honorable, whose mandate is only to serve his people afford a bail of N1b if not the proceed of corruption?" It will be unwise for the speaker to pay that bail even if he somehow can afford it, if he is willing to have any chance at all at the final judgment.

adrainuche: We played well buh all we need are better quality finishers, We dint have our best attackers up front that's all !!! Good job Keshi,Obabona, Mikel, Smebody tell Musa say he feet fast pass he brain and as for ideye na T.b Joshua go do deliverance for am .
Stop blaming Musa please.. Okay fine he made some mistakes but he is the most mobile player in that team, if not for him who else was carrying the ball forward? And all the nice crosses that he made, was it his fault that the Ideye and Gambo couldnt do anything with it? that is the reason he was trying to attempt at scoring by himself. If we had good point man, the burden of scoring shouldn't have been on him. Do u think Keshi was stupid for using him in all the matches? He can only sit on the bench if moses is around

Now you are cursing the Super Eagles? huh
Dem no get shame now... What about Italy wey Brazil thrashed 4-2? At least they came as defacto european champion and with a more experienced team.. U should credit Keshi for trying out a lot of boys b4 world cup... This is an opportunity for him to know who is going and who is not... And for me the guys performance today was not very poor.. Keshi himself needs no one to tell him that he Just need agressive finishers and we all know they are injured. So what are ppl crying about?

CelebritiesRe: Don Jazzy Donates N1m To OJB, Calling On Other Artistes To Please Do Same by Anvaller: 4:09pm On Jun 23, 2013
Guys... take it easy. At least they have started donating. All this stuffs u are doing here is more like a Yoruba proverb that says "The rain has not yet stopped falling and u are already concluding that its not as heavy as that of yesterday". U have to watch the trend of things 1st for sometime before saying everything u are saying here. Remember that not all of them are close friend of OJB. And the one that donates as much as 1 million deserves some credit.

foluks24: should anyone be made responsible for someone who probably is a chain smoker nd an alchoholic nd lost his kidney to dat effect.spare me nd tak d money to the moderless baby homes.wat hapened to steve kadiri d oda time, after hard earned money was contributed for d transplant he stil got himsf back to smokin and eventualy lost it.gudluck to dose who wish to sow where dey wuldnt reap.
Gone are those days when women are by default kind-hearted and caring. I am surprised u are imploring ppl not to help this guy. First of all stop this habit of judging people.. U do not know OJB personally, so u can not conclude that he caused the damage to his own kidney. And last I checked, smoking has damaging effects on ur lungs and not ur kidney.. This guy has kidney problem.
U might think u are perfect but some of ur flaws are already indicated here. U are insensitive, u judge people u don't know and u are attempting to discourage ppl who might be willing to help.
However, his millionaire colleagues should be able to contribute and help him, at least is not as expensive as their expensive lifestyle and this is about saving one of their own.
