FamilyRe: updated: Dem Don Call Police for me O, False alarm on child Abuse. by Anvaller: 11:22pm On May 26, 2013
I understand ur plight but here is it, I read ur story and that's really a bad situation so if u won't mind, this is my advice. I want to believe that u are already a good mom that takes no nonsense from ur kids but stop with the whooping and smacking. Adopt punishment instead, u know ur kid so u would know the kind of punishment that is appropriate.

Since ur concern on the other thread that caught my attention was how to manage raising ur kids to prevent them from going astray in the face of Child Protection checkmates, I have some general suggestions

- If u warned ur kid that if u do this I will punish u for it, if he ended up doing it u must punish him, never forgive him. Moms love to forgive their kids a lot because they love them but well.. I see it as misplaced love in such situation.

-Communicate, interact and discuss with ur kid constantly and all the time.. So u can keep track of what he does and happens generally at school.. Their teachers tell them a lot of craps, that way u can deprogram all craps immediately from their brain before it sticks there.
-Always ask them about what happened in school, what their teacher taught them if u do not constantly teach ur children a thing or two and picture in their brain that u are their ultimate teacher, that will affect how effectively they do or do not listen to u. (This is not about just telling them, u must literally constantly teach them like a teacher on different topics that u will ike to teach them about)
-Ensure that ur kids respect u and ur instructions, u don't need to beat ur kids up to achieve that
- If u are a parent that shouts, yell and sweat before u get ur kid to carry out ur instructions, that's a red flag
-Don't express a frightening shock anytime ur kid tells u something unpleasant
e.g (mom..Titi and I were playing bla bla bla.... and so she now kissed me on my cheek) Don't react like heeey heeey what did u say? what did u say? heen if I catch u bla bla come here *slap* *slap*... That would push the kid into keeping things they do secret from u and that is where the problem starts.. Instead, be sure to listen to the whole story, ask question and educate the kid in a subtle way. That way u can always get updates and feedback from them cos u didnt freak them out
-Ultimately, create a bond, strong friendship between u and ur kid, kids can be very loyal if u show them love and portray urself as their superman/woman, they usually tend to not want to disappoint u and when they get to high school, that connection will be maintained and it will keep them in check.
I don't know if u are already doing some or all of this its just a general attempt to contribute something. I dont intend to tell u waht to do, I am just passionate about protecting our kids from the evil whirlwind that is blowing them away these days.
May God help u!

Are you sure you went through this thread before typing that epistle. . huh #I Doubt
Epistle!!!..Lol
Sorry for the epistle I am just passionate about it, I went thru the thread of course, I saw that some guys are actually simply joking but majority are not joking and I saw those with a combination of english and Nigerian names. So my point still remains why english name at all? if u look at the posts, majority put english names 1st and nigerian name 2nd in bracket. This shows that the english name is the main name and the nigerian name is not that important. So I saw the thread b4 writing what I wrote and my response is derived from the trend of the thread.
FamilyRe: Names You Would Like To Call Your Kids by Anvaller: 6:59pm On May 25, 2013
Hmm? It saddens me that majority want white names for their kids... This is ridiculous, slave mentality and self hate... White names are completely irrelevant in ur kids' lives, so why?
I can agree with those who are married to whites.. But what is this craze with full blooded Nigerians and white names? The black folks in america refer to these names as their slave names, they understand that they wouldn't have had business bearing names like charles and frederick if it was not imposed on their forefathers during slavery.. and that is the reason why they give non white sounding names like ebony, aaliyah, jamal. tiara etc to their kids just to carve out a "black identity" for themselves since they can't trace their roots anymore.. But here u are naija folks on nairaland, u are willingly discarding that root and embracing meaningless white names...
I know i might have a lot of thumbs down for this comment but well the truth hurts, truth never sells but it stands. Think about it ppl, there are beautiful Nigerian names that can be easily spelled and easily pronounced and ultimately, have good meaning. why not those? If ur kids would grow up in the west, he would have to always explain the reason why his name is charles since he is an african. If he wouldn't give any logical explanation other than, "well my parent just like english name".. hmm the white folks will nod their heads and just say "ok ... cool.." but that tells them a lot. And they will refer to it on the day u would need to prove to them that u are proud of ur identity as african or nigerian. some who are grown with english names might know what I am talking about.
Good luck

alnaijiri: If you believe in your religion, anyone who doesn't is by definition an infidel. I believe that Islam is the way God our Creator wants us to live our lives. So, if one isn't a Muslim, one isn't fulfilling the will of God. It has nothing to do with respect. I may respect you, but if you are not a Muslim, then you are an infidel.

To Muslims, it is an intolerable shame to be ruled by infidels and live under the jurisdiction of non-sharia laws. Since God created this world, we should follow His laws and not those of man.
Shut up dude!!! I am a muslim but I am asking u to shut the Eff Up Right Now. Your comment isn't helping things at all. We normal, positive, right thinking muslims are beginning to take things more seriously with you radicals or potential radicals. U are just messing things up for muslims in general and unfortunately u are always very quick to speak for muslims, speak for urself dude!!! If u believe as a muslim u shouldn't be ruled by a non sharia jurisdiction so what are u doing there? Are u making any sense? And now u are talking about Sharia as if sharia itself is not man made.. Point to sharia for me in the Quran...
If u made this kind of comment in US or Canada... the muslim community themselves would report u to the security agents.
Have u seen how UK muslims are massively denouncing those guys and exonerating themselves? So u don't represent us, u only represent radicals like u.
U are defacing Islam, Stop It right now or Go to H3LL!

To those offended,u'd better relax. Cos why?
There are several latino jesuses. Plus these folks in the western world do not take God as seriously as u do, that's their life. Do u know how often they use these exclamations: OFG, OMFG, Holy Sht etc? I hope u know what they all mean.. So if u have not complained about that, why complaining about "yeezus" when "yeezus" which is presumed to be same as "Jesus" is simply just a name. To u may be not but to them it is. This dude has not done anything wrong in the society where he belongs.

Oh Come on now! What kind of survey is this,
I can agree with Canada and U.K being tolerant but USAhuh Oh don't feed me with that crap. Racism is alive over there.. (Just live in canada for sometime and then stroll across border to just detroit for example and u go hear am"wink but u won't know it cos of the so called "Political Correctness" americans would lie even in the survey cos they wanna be politically correct. They are only pretending to be tolerant because they don't wanna be seen as the "bad guy"... Americans feed too much on stereotypes, they are likely to relate with you with their perceived stereotype of you. At least as a black man, u have to always work extra hard to prove that u are not ghetto, dumb, uneducated and u aint about to rob them otherwise that's their perception of you. Why that? And if u look any arabic, even if u r not a muslim.. u have more problem than a black man. I am not saying all of them but a significant amount of them have this mindset. Blame it on their media that likes to blow just everything out of proportion. For them to rank usa as the same as canada and uk, I really just do not agree, they might be tolerant but not as much as those.
From my own observation, thats my opinion

laivwire: the car can travel at speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour on land and up to 65 kilometres per hour in the air. It costs at least $94,000 to purchase. shocked

I'ld get a bentley instead
but one has to consider the advantages of flying apart from the speed, U can fly on a straight line between locations which would have saved u significant mileage. U would also be saved from land traffic hassles (traffic hold ups, bad roads etc. but still, i agree with u cos that flying car is looking like a kiosk... the invention is still a joke for now, I wouldn't put my money on it too.

CultureRe: How Are You - Is It A Rude Form Of Greeting? by Anvaller: 6:43pm On May 14, 2013
Relax ppl! I am surprised that we still take such a trivial thing this seriously. I don't get offended by anyone trying to be rude to me saying "how are u" I just see them as ignorant. Cos "how are u" is a polite form of greeting ppl...
But since majority get offended by it and Now here is my suggestion:
When u are greeted how are you by anyone, do not just reply by saying "I am fine" that is what most people do not wanna say because it makes them feel like a kid. Rather, say "I am fine and u?" or "I am doing good and how are u too" Originally, this is the most correct response to a "how are u" greeting. If u replied in the correct form, u would be exploring the opportunity of balancing things out because at that point the greeter is obliged to respond by saying "I am fine ... (full stop)" So if he replied, then that means no one is being rude here. If he didn't, it would be very obvious to both of you and any other witness around that he the greeter is in-fact very rude. That will make him feel uncomfortable no matter who the person is. He would not greet you how are u another time if his intention was to be rude cos now he has known for sure that u will throw the greetings back at him politely and that will make him look bad one more time.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To Aregbesola Phone Theft Judgment by Anvaller: 12:37pm On May 05, 2013
Okay People... let's learn to criticize any unfolding scenario only based on facts and the connecting realities.
Was the guy accused only of phone theft? Nope
Apart from phone theft, what other accusations? ...2)Impersonation of the governor 3)Collection of money by false pretense (i.e based on impersonation)and 3 others. So from what I gathered, he is convicted on a 6 count charge, he was found guilty as charged and got jail term on each charges. So ur criticism is faulty if u are one of those who criticized based on the assumption that he was only charged for phone theft.

However @dulphines
dulphines: 45 years in prison is not enough for that criminal. If u'v been robbed before then u'll understand that these criminals are heartless and kill at will. They are deadlier than the ones you term "big thieves" and should be locked down for life.
I am sorry to say that ur thinking is not deep (u have the right to disagree). U said a guy who only stole phone and impersonated one individual is more dangerous than a bigger thief that stole and deprive millions of ppl their basic livelihood? A consequence of which is mass poverty, daily tragic death by road accident, hopelessness as a result of lack of opportunities and prospect for a honest hard working citizen. And a product of such degenerated society are these small thieves... So who exactly should we blame over all? The small thief or the big thief such as Aregbeshola?

I don't have any problem that the small thief is taken to jail.. since the gravity of his offence seems to commensurate with his sentence but the big thief should also go to jail and their sentence must also commensurate with the gravity of their offence which in my opinion should be life imprisonment or death because these big thieves are both directly and indirectly catalytic to many citizen's death and misfortune.

I bet it was renamed for the FP undecided
Ur comment in bold is very unnecessary... Or do u not know what low-life mean? U are referring to a lower level Nigerian model as low-life at the expense of a freaking b1tchy American Naomi Campbell? By ur logic, if she's not Naomi Campbell then she's a low-life hu? Hmmm! just wondering.

I think she's overyped too but the lady is very rich plus she's a don of the American entertainment so she can hype her own image however she wants. I am not her fan tho.. she has mentally wrecked the black american community by her (women-can-do-it-on-their-own)campaign She has contributed to the problem of family break down in the back community cos all black women now believe black men are irrelevant in their lives hence single moms here and there. The black community are the only group with the lowest marriage success rate in america.. shame

So apart from the fact that she has enriched herself, she has caused damages with her influence.
Music/RadioRe: Ghanaians Mad At Chris Brown For Calling Azonto A Nigerian Dance by Anvaller: 6:49pm On Apr 03, 2013
mikeapollo: The issue is actually a minor one.

But your comment is the type that makes other Africans to dislike Nigerians....stupid arrogance!
Who told you it was Nigeria that made Azonto popular? Nonesense! Azonto has been made popular by Ghanaians and down-to-earth other Africans long before Nigeria joined. Azonto was a hit dance at the BBA in 2011.

Nigeria was even reluctant to accept the Azonto dance (ostensibly because of rivalry with Ghana), but we had to join when almost everybody realised the fun/creativity of the dance and its global acceptance.
Right now, almost all Nigerian musicians are playing Ghana Hiplife / Azonto beats and rhythms.

And to show how arrogant and mischevious we Nigerians are, and not wanting to give credit to others, PSquare stole all the Azonto dance moves and then decided to call it 'Alingo'....in order to hijack the credit..very shameful and disgraceful act.
Anybody can invent or create anything. But when you borrow somebody's idea/creative works, the honourable thing to do is to acknowledge it and move, not to steal it and call it another name like PSquare did....making a mockery of themselves after all their years of good success.
OK Mike but nothing is more dubious than a blatant impersonation... We are smart enough to read thru ur implications as being an impersonator...
If Azonto was already popular, how popular? U can not deny the fact that Nigerian entertainment has a global fan base so if Nigeria adopts Azonto all Naija fans world wide will buy into it and would assume automatically that it's Nigerian because they are a fan of Nigerian entertainment and not of Ghana. U need to chill... Blues, Rap, Acapella, Jazz etc.. are all African but these genres are made popular by African Americans and so the new generation believes these genres are American.. so it is normal. If PSquare made Alingo.. well if u look at the dance step it is not Azonto but anyone would know that it is Azonto inspired but since the dance step is not exactly Azonto and they called it Alingo why should u be mad about that? PSquare knew that if they did exactly azonto they would still make their hit and Ghanaian would still be mad about it just as if PSquare have not been making hits before Azonto and thats why they repackaged it and gave it a different brand. Even if u took such case to court, u can never win cos its not Azonto.. Believing that Nigeria did not make azonto popular is just plain self deceit. U can't blame Chris Brown all he knows about is Nigerian entertainment it is left to u Ghanaian to to make ur entertainment as popular if u can, otherwise U can't but just give it to the trail blazer.

And let me ask u, Has any Nigerian musician actually come out in an interview to categorically state that Azonto is Nigerian? U can not blame it on Nigeria if Naija fans erroneously assume that the dance is Nigerian because Naija sold it to them. U can only blame Nigeria on this kind of thing if u can refer to an interview where a known Nigerian entertainer was asked about the origin of Azonto and replied as that it is Nigerian.. Otherwise this kind of argument will just make u look stupid.

CelebritiesRe: Beyonce Supports Gay Marriage by Anvaller: 2:13pm On Mar 29, 2013
But seriously, who would be surprised that Beyonce is in support of Gay Marriage? Majority of American Women are bisexual.. I can bet it Beyonce is bisexual too why would she not be? unless Jay Z insists he doesn't want a 3some (which I doubt) And this is so because the american society seem to be more accepting of women being bi-sexual than a guy being bisexual or even gay. Ladies wanna be bisexual and the guys that should frown at it actually like them being it because the more bisexual ladies, the more 3somes and that is good news for the guys cos they wanna have 3some even married couples too!!!!!!!!!!! U don't beleive me? find it out. So more and more women will tell u straight without any issues that she's bisexual and she would even expect u to be like "wow damn!!!".
So if we have pastors supporting it, why would anyone be shocked that Beyonce (That R&B B1tch the wife of a HipHop thug) supports gay marriage? If she doesn't who will then?

Come on now... the hair looks like fucking rubber strands why do they all want to look like white women when white women don't wanna look like them? Isn't that ridiculoushuh Does that mean that they personally accept that they are not pretty enough unless they are disguised as white women...? Fake hair, blue eye contact lens, and all that crap just to mimic a white woman's features... This is sick... Genevieve looks trashy in this picture just like she always look fake every time she's on weave.

Amanpour is an arrogant interviewer.. she behaves that way to everybody... you saying that she wouldnt have done that to a yankee politician exposes the fact that u dont really know Amanpour and u r bashing someone that they don't have cable, that's unnecessary. The lady is currently drilling all the US security agencies on the use of drones and she's very tough about it, giving them hard time during interviews.. what about that? Meanwhile she even only asked Jonathan simple questions that anyone could have answered. But Jonathan failed.

I am surprised u are now putting the blame on channels' interviewers. What did they ask the man? official website.. how could that be a difficult question? how are they trying to bring him down by simply asking a simple question? A company would have a website just like an individual would have an email address. So it is like asking u whats ur email ad and u dont know, so why do u have it if u dont know? Or is it that u actualy do not have but u think u have? ... Oh so u prefer to watch a stage managed TV where the script had already been written and just mimed out on TV? The bad Nigerian orientation was what actually worked against that man. He should have been honest. If u do not have a website u say it and give a reason. If u had a website and no more working, u say it and give a good excuse, instead of trying to play around telling ppl what he think he should tell them rather than what is the truth and that's why he got hooked, u can't blame the interviewers for that. But if the reason why he said what he said was that he didn't actually know their official website, then that is unacceptable unless u r just saying its ok for us to nurture mediocrity.

CelebritiesRe: Jude - No Artist Signing Till P-square Stop Singing by Anvaller: 9:54pm On Mar 04, 2013
Afam4eva: Illiteracy is eating us badly in this country. Some people jumped into conclusion after reading the title without reading the entire interview to understand what Jude is driving at. he never said, he can't groom an artiste but that experience has taught him that most artistes will see people like Psquare, 2face and D'banj and think that they just got to the level that they are in a day. You have to strive for success and that is what all these new artistes have to understand. if you see Psquare driving a lamborgini, you mustn't expect to get same in your short career because the years of hardwork that those dudes have put into their music even seniors some upcoming musicians. Slow and steady wins the race and up comers have to learn to be patient. Things don't come easy without hardwork.
I understand ur point.. and its a good point but I dont believe that mayd would be asking for exactly the same thing as psquare has, he just wanted a lifestyle that measures up with the record label he is signed in. I really dont believe that side of Jude's story he just wants to give a good impression of himself. But hey.. I also do not agree with the point that giving him a high lifestyle will make him lose motivation cos if they give mayd such paraphernalia, it doesnt become his property. It is still all properties of SQUARE RECORDS. He would only be using the paraphernalia from the ex-officio point of view. So how would he lose his head when he knows that those properties would be withdrawn if he failed to deliver as stated by their contract terms! It is a very African strategy to motivate ppl by demotivating them.
CelebritiesRe: Jude - No Artist Signing Till P-square Stop Singing by Anvaller: 9:31pm On Mar 04, 2013
efosanice: by the time psquare stops singing, square records would be history, you can then take all your money and shove it then, go and see kennis music now, the so called owners are hustling for judging slots on singing reality shows. This is the typical mentality of the black man and it is so sad, that is why no predominantly black country is developed.

If you pick an artiste you sign them, there are certain amount to be put into production and there is a certain percentage the artist gets from all income he makes for the label, why is it that the artiste has to start asking for car and house and then it is the duty of one man to decide if he has suffered enough, he is not an apprentice , he is an artist and the sole reason why p square own their own record is so that they would not be working for another, so if you are going to sign someone, there should be a standard contract. Usher co-signed justin bieber and justin bieber makes much more money than usher makes now, same with akon and lady gaga, why would you sign somebody and put the person behind you in line, let his star shine as much as it can shine and you would get your cut in managerial and recording benefits. I hope this statement would be used against this man anytime he ventures into public office.

I am also not surprised that some people here would be supporting him, because they are obviously from the master-apprentice mentality
Very well said... Its a typical Nigerian mentality.. we need to be more liberal in our thinking. because U brought mayd to the limelight doesnt mean he should remain below u 4ever. Look at Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg u really cant tell who and who is the boss.. Dr Dre and Eminem who is the boss? Dre Dre and 50cent who is the Boss. Dre discovered and polished all these guys and they became their own boss immediately after their 1st hit while they still work together with Dre up till this moment, Dre didnt have a problem with that cos he understood that he cant stop them from shining, all he has to do is partner with them to sign a contract that defines his percentage on their revenue. When u r signed as a new artist, ur label should give u a lifestyle that represents the class of the label that u r working for. And their brand is not a mushroom brand so whats their problem?
BusinessRe: Can Entrepreneurship Be Truly Taught? by Anvaller: 5:07pm On Feb 28, 2013
U can learn to be an entrepreneur. It depends on ur mental readiness. In that case,it might not be possible to teach entrepreneurship directly but indirectly. Although I believe more in learning entrepreneurship in a practical sphere from another (successful)entrepreneur than in a classroom environment. Classroom environment will only teach superstitions and fixed cases. Whereas, as an entrepreneur, no situation is fixed and u must be able to solve problems as they come. So u need a raw practical understudy of a mentor entrepreneur to be able to learn effectively and successfully.

AgricultureRe: Agriculture Thread by Anvaller: 11:50am On Feb 28, 2013
Ozonna: Agriculture is big business. I read somwhere that an averaGe Nigerian consumes about 600naira worth of food daily. Calculate 600 * 160m = 9.6bn naira per day. You guys can see that if this figure is true then Agric biz is super profitable.

But Ϯh℮ problem is that crop farmers (primary producers)make little or no money. The transporters, middlemen, food processors, etc make a heLl of profit.
This is what's discouraging most young people from farming.

Can the experienced farmers/agric specialists tell us how to make profit as primary producers (crop farmers)
1) Mechanize ur farm. This will allow you to farm efficiently. Less labour, Higher efficiency, higher accuracy, timeliness, all these will ensure higher yield. You will be sure to make profit if u can achieve more yield/acre or ha. The problem of pry producers start from inability to achieve required min yield/ha due to lack of factors I mentioned above and among others. Large scale farmers are in most cases the group of farmers that achieve min yields or higher. A subsistence farmer can also achieve min yield but at subsistence level.

2) Add value to ur produce... If u are a cultivator of perishables for example, have a cooling system where u can keep ur product for a protracted period of time so that u may sell ur perishables when its scarce. U know what that means!

3) If possible, cut out bulk buyers, middle men or whole-salers... note!!! (If possible) cos this is not always possible. If u can, this will allow u to sell ur product at whole sale price and not at farm gate price which is usually ridiculous. If u can achieve this, I can assure u will make reasonable profit and this is when we can be talking about how profitable farming is. If u can not, farming may not be as profitable as u enthusiastically believe.

There are more ways to expand profit but these are the ones I can think of right now
Good luck.
AgricultureRe: He Wants To Resign & Do Vegetable Farming - Please Advice by Anvaller: 5:21pm On Feb 27, 2013
@OP
That dude is about to take a very risky decision. I would advise him to only venture into such if there is a way to still keep is job. I was a farmer too so I am not talking blindly. The least profitable level to be on the supply chain in agriculture is primary production and it is the most hectic and time consuming. That is where u want to resign and go..? I have been there b4. Right b4 ur eyes, u will see other ppl on the chain e.g transporters of ur product, bulk buyers and retailers making 5 times the profit u made per unit. I am not saying u cant make profit as pry producer but u have to be sophisticated, that means u will need huge capital and skills too cos he's an accountant isn't he?. In most cases, ur revenue will only manage to cover cost of production. For some one like you, labour is not cheap in Nigeria, you will spend a lot on labour.
My advice, instead of looking only at farming, look at the possibility of trading agricultural product, buy commodities wholesale and sell to retailers. The guy has a hilux u said? So he is almost there then. In that way, he will make profit within short time with less risks.
Good luck.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Closes-down Benin Golf Club by Anvaller: 2:55pm On Feb 25, 2013
Cool it guys, Oloye got it all wrong. As far as I know, the law only prohibits movements within the city and gathering in public places during the period. This is just to encourage ppl to stay at home and clean up their properties. What anyone is doing privately in a private property is not an issue. I grew up in a G.R.A in Ibadan and as far as I can remember, we really did not use that period for cleaning as it was not necessary. We moved about from street to street within our neighborhood (tho only walking, not driving) without any harassment by any authority. I remember we used this sanitation period in our neighborhood for landlord meetings. It would have been a big time drama if one Oloye came to our compound and arrested all the landlords because they were having a kind of meeting and not cleaning their properties. We need to be more sane about how we define our laws and how we implement them. If the golf course is a confined private property without any over flow of activities, I don't think Oloye had any business harassing those ppl. I see it as mere oppression. My opinion!
Car TalkRe: Benz vs BMW vs Audi: Pure German Machines! by Anvaller: 9:49am On Feb 25, 2013
chrisevans: Bmw is more performance oriented while merc is more of luxury. Many ppl say audi is is mix of both, but having neva driven one, I can't confirm that. But audi has been making great cars lately with beautiful interior, striking design language and their overrated quattro system (yes! Overrated. go to youtube and u'll understand). My first car was '97 E36 3 series. Being rearwheel drive, It provided driving dynamics dat was unmarched by my friend's 07 honda accord. My dad has bought 8bmws and I av driven 5 of them. I have also driven a couple mercs (97 c class, 07 c class and new E class) merc has a smoother steering feel and the interior is more comfortable. But bmw feels better to drive with a more refined and precise steering (sincerely bmw pales in comparison to merc with respect to interior design and materials). It is a car u want to take on a road trip from lagos to maiduguri...u can't get bored
\

I have total experience with the 3 brands.. and I say this comment of yours is the one that I most agree with. What I hate about Audi is the shock absorbers. It absorbs shocks as if its in pain while a BMW would absorbs shock as if it flew over it. That doesnt mean that Audi's shock absorbers wear out quickly tho.
IslamRe: Ensuring Zero Tolerance For Any Type Of Extremism by Anvaller: 3:00pm On Feb 21, 2013
Aishabee: Masjids must be vigilant about extremist rhetoric and behavior this year and be at the forefront of stopping them.

We are living in a very difficult time for Muslims in America. Saving our lives and the lives of our neighbors is a sacred duty. We are proud of the parents of the Virginia five, the Minneapolis eight and the Nigerian father who reported their sons’ descent into extremism to authorities in 2008 and 2009.

If a person spouting extremist ideas in your Masjid is not dangerous, you need to immediately counsel him for moderation. But please adopt a zero tolerance policy for any type of extremism in your Islamic center or organization.

Almost all Muslims are concerned about wars and would like to see peace, but no one should allow his or her anger to take the law into their own hands. So listening well within our communities is crucial for all Imams and Muslim leaders.

Ask your board to adopt a formal zero tolerance policy towards extremist talk in the Masjid.

In addition, encourage your mosque’s Imam to give Khutbas to encourage the civic participation of our community members. We can oppose wars by joining peace and justice groups that focus on changing the policies of our nation. This encouragement can channel legitimate anger at injustice into positive action, instead of frustrated community members lashing out in extremism and violence.

Thanks for posting, I hope ppl will listen and we should start asking ourselves, "Am I an extremist muslim or just a true peaceful muslim" Lets unite against extremism.

BetaThings: This is an open forum. Not everyone is in A levels. Some of us are just learning the basics
The harder worker you speak of begins by your posting the evidence, rather than conducting a test
But I reckon that you are talking about dua for the dead
Basically, we start by talking about Janazzah. That is what every individual muslim deserves. There is proof for that.
And what we recite during janazzah includes dua for that dead person

As for dua for dead muslims. I don't recall any one that is specific, but there is one that is general
"Oh Allah forgive Muslims (male and female), the true believers (male and female), dead and alive"
As much as I really really hate quoting out of context, ur response compelled me to do it for now so I would just give some verses here...

"The heavens above them almost shatter, out of reverence for Him, and the angels praise and glorify their Lord, and they ask forgiveness for those on earth. Absolutely, God is the Forgiver, Most Merciful." 42:5

This verse is letting us know that forgiveness is only for those on earth. U would know that God mentions "the heaven and the earth and all in between" in several verses in the Quran, if in this verse, the angels are only asking for forgiveness for those on the earth, this shows apparently that forgiveness is no more relevant if u are no more on earth otherwise the angels would have included ... and the heaven and hell in their prayers.

"O you who believe, you shall give to charity from the provisions we have given to you, before a day comes where there is no trade, no nepotism, and no intercession. The disbelievers are the unjust." 2:254

This verse further reflects the imperative of doing the righteous before ur death. After ur death no trade no nepotism.

"Should My servants ask you about Me, I am always near. I answer their prayers when they implore Me. Thus they should respond to Me and believe in me, so that they may be guided." 2:186

This verse is actually reflecting the essence of prayer... which is to seek for guidance from God so that u will be guided on ur actions while on earth so u may enter heaven. We undertake no further actions at death of course, so no more guidance.

Like I said... I would have loved to write a very detailed well explained article rather than just quoting verses.. I don't like simply quoting out of context in order not to leave any doubt. But I am doing this from work so I dont have much time. I usually do my researches for my personal knowledge and understanding of the True Islam and not to evangelize. So I am sorry if u are not satisfied with the amount of proofs that I brought. But there are a lot more if y can take ur time to research these little but so fundamental things.
