It's possible to notice windows and the edge of a balcony with your eyes closed. It all depends on your sense of spatial awareness and the sensitivity of your hearing and your skin.
It is possible toknow where an open window is a pitc dark room by the direction of the breeze wafting through the windows. You will notice that some parts of the room, te air is still and in another, the air seems to be in motion and you'll be able to hear the direction noises coming from outside of the room more clearer than in others.

All in all sha..if you don't like Daredevil the TV series, no wahala. There are other genres of tv series to enjoy.

Yeah I guess it is possible to tell an open window in a room. I wish I could upload scenes from DD here that got my jaw dropping with disbelief; The fight scenes where he takes out several baddies in a hall way. Or one where in making his escape he does a wall run and jumps on a balcony and vanishes into the night to the cliched surprise of the baddies. There are several of them. Trying to explain it here isn't doing justice to it.

I will keep watching the show, a friend told me it gets better and that Punisher, a hero I'm familiar with, is set to make an appearance when they release the second season. Want to see what leads up to that.

DAREDEVIL is a very great adaptation on TV(I might be sounding biased here cuz I have long been a fan),but you guys shouldn't always expect everyone to have same opinion on same subject matter.

I won't say it pisses people off, it's just, well, unbelievable. For me that was asking too much. Like I mentioned earlier how does a heightened sense of smell or hearing translate to knowing where the edge of a balcony or window is? How does super hearing let you know when one man in a group of many that you are currently fighting is pulling a gun and aiming at you - and you know exactly where and when to duck.

If somehow they wove some kind of extrasensory perception or ability into the DD narrative, maybe I would have had no trouble accepting the series. I can't reconcile smelling or hearing with spatial awareness.

It's just for me - inspite of considering myself a serious fan of fiction and fantasy - a problem of believability.

It remains to be seen if a lawsuit will make these news houses with dubious standards refrain from manufacturing stories.

I am not required to defend the findings of this study, if Osun has a higher ranking than Anambra it is as a result of the methodology used. Since you call to question this findings the burden of proof lies on you to show how or why it is flawed empirically or logically.

This report does not add up. There's no how Osun could have been above Anambra even on cumulative basis. Anambra has always been ahead in all the SE states. A visit to Anambra will convince any one who is in doubt. Osun is not known for anything spectacular. Not for agriculture, not for commerce and not for mineral explorations so how comes its occupying the second position? Its simply not adding up. Only the caliber of buildings in Anambra alone will convince any doubting Thomas that the people of this state are not hungry.

So we should discountenance this report based on an anecdotal narrative supplied by you. Do you realise how unserious this sounds? If you have issues with the report or counter claims the right thing to do is provide ample empirical and logical evidence to support your claims.

I found Daredevil to be unbelievable and haven't gone past the fourth episode. I'm very much into super heroes and stuff but a blind man who mysteriously develops a super sense of hearing that allows him to do things that men with their sights can't do was too much for me to swallow.

Check out his fight scenes; he parries, ducks and dodges without seeing where his attackers are coming from yet he knows just where to land his death dealing blows (well in fairness he never kills anyone) During the day time he puts on the act of a blind man who can't get about without his cane but at night when he's on his super hero flows he is jumping from windows, jumping from balconies all with the help of his sense of hearing & smell. Haba. Does he smell/hear the balconies to know where they are

I wouldn't rate DD so lowly if the acting and dialogues were able to get my mind off the points I mentioned above but I found it to be cliched and somewhat predictable.

It was this same thing that made me lose some interest in Marco Polo.

Maybe it's just me but most of the Netflix shows I've seen this year are sort of disappointing.

Living costs could be anywhere between 650-1400 monthly....which is 7800-16200 per annum.
For a three year Undergraduate course....that amounts to.....72600 -86400 pounds in total.(And if the young one wants to do a Masters....add 12-18000 pounds to that cost in fees....plus expenses...and you will get over the 90000 pounds).
So...very very costly.

Yes what he said is true 90000 pounds for a low rubbish UK school excluding living expenses. To attend cambridge cost as much as 56000 pounds a year that's almost 220000 pounds for a degree program.

I just reread his comment and he did in fact mention the that cost was for a Bsc. I wrongly assumed he was referring to a Masters degree.

Do we know how much we're talking about here? You need a minimum of £90,000 to train an international student for a BSc programme in the UK. Multiply this amount by 6,000 (approx Nos of ex militants in foreign institutions) and you will get the ridiculous, frightening amount being wasted.

By the way, 90% of the so called ex militants are enjoying lavish lifestyles in the UK and the US; another 65% are don't even know how to spell their names (hope you get my drift ).

I think LeOstrich's comments, sans the insulting tone, does have some merits; that photo of the soldier doing a house check does raise the question of the appropriateness of his choice of weapons.

Buhari needs to get his team in order. This is a bad way to start his administration.

Well, it's not a movie. Y'all really need to stop calling TV series seasonal films, they are not. Anywho, I'm personally a fan of Supernatural, but it has gone a bit too long now. I would recommend watching season 1-5, 'cause that's where the creator wanted it to end, but the CW no gree.
About to watch Ballers, I've no clue what it's about, but it has the Rock in it and it's a HBO show, so that's all I need to know.

I long since gave up on correcting people here that seasonal film isn't the right term. What's so hard in calling it a TV series instead of
the rather long and pedestrian sounding seasonal movie I've trained myself to ignore and not respond but every now and then it kind of gets under one's skin. SMH

You just admitted that the non nomination of ministers is in "bad for and uninspiring". Isn't it proper for you to clamour for him to appoint ministers? Should we endure for a government to function without ministers for 4years just because "it is not illegal"? Without the Minister who will counter- sign contracts of the Tender board? Who will formulate policies? What happens to all sectors of the economy? What happens to investors? What happens to Fiscal policies? Will Buhari perform all the roles?

I'm not clamouring for Buhari to appoint ministers just yet, I'm adopting a wait and see approach first. It's still early days, if after a few more weeks and we are still here then I'll agree with you that things are in a bad state and that the Baba doesn't know what he is doing.

We all have to assume the position of tactical and constructive criticism. The time to cry wolf may well come but right now any cries will easily be dismissed as that of an unreasonable man.

For now let's be vigilant and continue watching the man.

Bros, the so-called "100 days" wait is alien to the law. Serious leaders take less that 3-5days to appoint cabinet members. In fact, I can list more than 10 of such.

His delay is in bad form and it certainly isn't confidence inspiring but it is not illegal or unconstitutional. Let the Baba exercise his prerogative for now.

I don't think it is proper to allow the President appoint his cabinet "when he wants". It however should be when it is appropriate- and that technically was from May 30, 2015. Every serious government all over the act almost immediately after coming to power because the business of Governance is so important that vacuum is never encouraged. Meanwhile, how can Buhari properly appreciate the state of every sector without his ministers? The civil servants and non career DGs and MDs will always try to mask their tracks. You need a minister to go there, critically look and evaluate the state of the MDAs under his ministry and advice the President properly. The country without minister is always on standstill and in retrogression.

"When he wants" should not be taken to mean that the president has the luxury of many months to come to a decision. The window for him to set up his cabinet, even if just for the appearance of direction, is not infinite but he still has it.

If we near the 100 days mark by which many administrations are assessed and the cabinet is still not formed then it can be safely adjudged that the president is truly confused. Let's not raise the alarm yet, let's watch.

A well put together piece Barcanista however I do not think that a few weeks or months of governance without ministers is of grave consequence to the nation. This is not to excuse Buhari's apparently undecided approach to leadership though, he has had enough time to come up with a cabinet he can work with (and the excuses about delayed handover notes from the previous administration is lame)

Let Buhari appoint his cabinet when he wants, what is crucial is that no excuses will be accepted should his team fail to deliver on their promises.

Whatever was done by any statutory member of the executive wing including the ADC was done by the presidency. The presidency is personally responsible for all actions taken by the folks he put in place to serve him.

The fact that the directive stands, unchallenged and not taken back by the NSA which the DSS functions under and the president himself should tell you that the order came from the very top and not necessarily the ADC..


Constitutionally prescribed responsibility of the DSS includes taking orders from the commander in chief as stated by the DSS itself so what's your point..

The line in bold... hmmm. Any directive that comes from the presidency has to do so through the appropriate channels otherwise any office under the presidency, heck even the head chef, can issue pronouncements and claim they are presidential orders.

The fact that this order is now under contention by the DSS indicates that the laid down procedure for effecting changes in the presidential security team is being ignored or abused. The DSS would not question this order if it issued directly from the seat of the C-I-C and was in line with it's chartered mandate.

If the ADC is acting on the express wishes of the president then this does not augur well for constitutionally minded Nigerians who want to see a country built upon respect and adherence to generally agreed principles. It shows that the presidency, in pursuing its own objectives, is ready to bypass protocols and channels stipulated by our democracy.

Honestly, I don't see any reason for the agitation in the appointment of Ministers. Just appoint a secretary to the government of the federation, a chief of staff an NSA and other needed special advicers/assistants. What really is the job of a minister if not just to ensure the different ministries work in tandem with the aims of a government in power. If such aims can be met, I see no reason for a rush in ministerial appointments. Right now, those ministries are headed by permanent secretaries who are technocrats grounded in d running of these various ministries and would do much better in d saddle(They've spent most of their career in these ministries). Moreover, no ministers till September will help cut costs in a way(Salaries and other entitlements for these two months can be used for something better). To me, Ministerial appointments are just done to reward loyal party men and give every state a feeling of being involved in the Nation's governance. Baba, as far as those permanent secretaries are doing d job well, abeg wait till December or even next year. NO NEED TO RUSH

I share this view point too, government can still function without ministers. Buhari can take all the time he wants.

That statement, however, of waiting till the "rot left by the previous administration is cleared up" could very well end up as a trap for Buhari. It implies that when the ministers are appointed, late August or early September if this report is to be believed, that all would have been set right by Buhari. That means that from that time going forward he and his team will be wholly responsible for any failings or shortcomings Nigeria may experience and that they cannot use GEJ or any other previous administration as an excuse.
