Alas me and my family are anything but slaves and we certainly don't feel oppressed. No amount of hues and cries about oppression will make me, my family and many many others like us abandon what we have achieved so far and join a movement of starry eyed individuals who see war as the only sure means to achieving their state of fulfilment. M'bamnu!

The goal of national actualisation can be attained through bloodless means. Revolution, uprising, war or whatever they want to call the struggle will exact a cost that even it's supporters have yet to appreciate. If those who see different are in the majority and act upon their thinking they will do so without the support of the likes of me.

As I said only frustrated and unemployed people will refuse to learn from history. Let them be.

However, we also know that violence is the only language the Nigerian Government understands. Uwazulike tried the peaceful way, he has been beaten, tortured, made a mockery of,locked up and many MASSOB members killed because they chose the peaceful way. It's been 15 years and still he has not actualised Biafra. The Niger-Delta militants and Boko Haram picked up guns and Government asked for negotiation. Violence is what gets things done in Nigeria.

I think you are just talking. I am Igbo and have not for a second dreamt of fighting in any war so as to achieve a new and independent nationality. I also do not wish for any member of my family to witness let alone participate in any such war.

No matter how people romanticise the struggle for a seperate identity from Nigeria the savage brutality that is war will forever keep me and my kind on the path that seeks a non violent approach. As time progresses so does the nature of warfare assume even more deadly forms. Even if a war is fought for a miraculously short time it will take several generations for a people to fully recover from it... So whatever objective you think you are fighting for you will never completely enjoy it.

Leave all this talk of war for frustrated and unemployed people.

the OP goofed..we don't need to restructure to have change..to get the desired effect, we all need to change our values. unfortunately, we are already too deep into it to change anything. is the 8 years of Fasola improved the lots of Lagosians? no ! infact, Lagosians suffered more with his draconian style. Nigerians are too fraudulent and we have imbibed culture of money worship ..to get the desired change , it must start from our schools and churches .....the churches are guilty of promoting greedy ..so each member try to outdo each other..no value. The only way the church feel that the lord blesses you is how much money you have or pretend to have ..no one cares how you got them.
As a little boy growing up in late eighties, I was told to be honest, work hard and respect...what Yorubas will call ISE LOGUN ISE..meaning hardwork kills poverty..now it is ISEKOLOWO..meaning..hard work does not translate to wealth....yes, why not just be a local govt chairman, than you are sure of becoming multi millionaire or billionaire ..with no work done .....that is where we are ..

What you have posted is just another entreaty to our sense of morality and while it is high sounding and laudable it is not the kind of thing that a government can rely upon to effect visible and concrete progress. There is no denying the fact that a lot of, if not all the problems that are befacing this country have ties to a malformed moral foundation but what we have to confront every waking hour are its tangible and three dimensional effects: Poor infrastructure ranging from power supply to road networks, insecurity, unemployment, healthcare challenges etc. These are problems of an immediate and real nature, problems with a lucid dimension of urgency. So an appeal to morals as you have done in your post, if it is to be the governments sole approach to bring about change, is not only laughable it is ineffective. Let the churches, mosques, shrines, elders and ancestors or whoever it is that we assign as arbiters of moral standards continue with their task. The other nations that have achieved levels of progress that we envy are not peopled by saints and sages, they are just as materially minded as us Nigerians.

What the new administration needs are cohesive and wholesome programs, properly defined policies that take into account the unique nature of the country's challenges and tackles them squarely.

TL;DR?: Preaching won't help this government, hard well thought-out plans and policies and programs is the sure way to go.

The people saying they are ready to fight or go to war in this country obviously do not know what they are talking about. They have not felt the pangs of hunger, seen the destruction, the ràpe, the decimation that befalls men women and children alike in wars. With the help of modern technology they hide behind a faceless facade sounding the drums and rhetoric of war...

It is only after a first hand experience that their sensibilities will feverently seek an alternative and less confrontational avenue to channel the exuberance that they are obviously filled with.

These killings are horrible. People should whisper a prayer for the families of the victims instead of taunting Buhari. Goodness knows what they are going through at the moment.

We can all call the new government to action regarding security without resorting to spiteful remarks.

Buhari made an impact? Really? You mean he denied the civilian populace many of its liberties, jailed and killed several citizens with his draconian decrees all at the same time doing severe damage to the nation's economy with his questionable policies?

I never had any confidence in Buhari's ability to lead this nation to greatness and while I tried to hold onto the hope that things might get better the inaction of the past month has only served to invigorate my fears: Nigeria is under the rule of yet another ineffective and bad government.

like I stated previously, live action adaptations are poor.

In truth DD is the best of this genre so far, they did raise the bar. A little. Lol. Next on the list is Gotham, that one managed to keep me intrigued for a long time, up to its 14th episode, till the ridculousness started to catch up and I had to abandon it. I tried watching Arrow but stopped 30 minutes into the first episode. Couldn't stand it at all.

When it comes to super heroes and comic stories animations and full length movies remain the best media to enjoy them.
