The brightest candle to Daddy; Death snatched you from us when we needed you most in 1992 You left us with deeply embedded principles that has guided us all these years. Christain, Chinedu and Mum has joined you since then, We will all see one day, , some day. A candle for Christian; You were a lovely younger brother. Respectful and adorable. Your death in 1995 shook us all to our bones. We all thought it was a dream. But we never woke out of the dream till date, I love you so immeasurably Another candle for my big brother; Chinedu; You passed on to the great beyond on 31st December, 1997 after your NYSC, Taking lots of shine and vivacity with you. I use to come to your grave at midnight hoping to see you, , even your ghost, But gave up when it dawned on me that you are really gone. I will miss you forever! One more candle for my darling mother; Chinedu's death broke your heart. You were inconsolable and you mourned him for four years. You loved us all but you couldn't stand the pain of yet another lost. You died in my arms in the hospital in August 2001. The pain of your death will eternally remain inexpressible. To you all that were once an integral part of my life, , ADIEU. |
Hi friends, I posted the tread above about a fortnight ago but no one has replied. The invitation was for National Diploma holders and I think it is a yearly program. Any useful information will be deeply appreciated. |
Chevron invited interested candidates for her maintenance/operator trainee programme late last year. Does anyone have an idea if they've shortlisted candidates for aptitude test? |
Hi, please I need a little clarification. Are we talking about 2007 UME or that of 2008? I'm eagerly waiting to get news of this year's UME registration commencement, but it has not been announced on the electronic media yet, I want to register my kid brother. Please tell me fast if the forms are out and when it is closing, I hope I'm not too late already. |
If you've been preparing with materials like GMAT, you will discover that the questions you will meet at the test are relatively cheaper. But there lies the risk; the tendency to commonise the questions and consequently make avoidable mistakes. The key to success is speed and accuracy. You may need to be faster in answering the first questions and exercise more caution as you advance especially in the Numerical and Mechanical segments. By the way when did you receive your invitation to the aptitude test? I took the test last two years but stopped after the Skill test stage. I also applied last year. |
Though I've got no right to call him a liar, I grossly doubt the authenticity of the post. I don't give a damn if they are paying him a million bucks but SPDC is too organised to let an OND holder supervise his academic superiors. Even if he is making a confession of faith, he should be realistic and stop being too far out. |
I guess most times our greed makes us vulnerable My friend recounted how they offered him a Nokia N75 for 6k. He didn't budget to buy a phone that very day but couldn't resist the offer. They just showed him the phone and quickly put it back in its jacket. Apparently they swapped it while he was bringing out the money. They urged him to quickly put it in his pocket which he did only to discover a finely shaped piece of stone in a phone jacket on getting out of that vicinity. He couldn't even go back to challenge the guys knowing fully well that he is equally as guilty. Trust me, I laughed him to ridicule. |
Proper enquiry will probably reveal that RCCG has spent far more than N7.7b on welfare, scholarship, rural community development (which goes simultaneously with African Missions missionary outreach) in the recent past. This spans through the lenght and breath of Africa. RCCG does not brocast such activities! Moreover, decisions regarding the use of church funds is the sole prorogative of The Elders' Council not the G.O's. I'm yet to see a man of God as humble as Pastor Adeboye The congress building is built by Redeemed Members and owned by Redeemed members. If you cant live with it, keep your mouth shut. |
I wonder what you consider a better virtue; fidelity or honesty? Who knows if this is one truth amongst a thousand lies For me a lady that can cheat and continue in suspicious relationships will not be too angelic to lie I advise that you move on and let her live her life as she wants to. |
Please don't appraise people generically, individual merit or demerit should be the keyword. There are glaring cases of polytechnic graduates grossly outshining their university counterparts both during interviews and on the job. Most polytechnics parade an intimidating number of very bright students who took that option due to obvious reasons. And to you Omislarry, keep your mouth shut if you've got nothing to say. Stop bringing shame to the polytechnic folk. |
Hey almondjoy, You've got quite a strong style of expressing your opinion. Looks like you are on a God-given mission to chastise Sabmack into sanity. I guess this issue has being grossly overflogged. By now Sabmack know the truth, unless he is just seeking a justification for something that is wrong. Remember somethings are true, whether we believe them or not! |
I'm yet to come to terms with why any organisation that is capable of offering a worthy job to a graduate will hesitate in investing in the recruitment process. The reverse should be the case. Dragnet should conduct free tests for promising job seekers, while companies that need their services pay Dragnet for saving them the time and stress. Also, there is this angle that some companies that have a customised way of testing their prospective employees, like the use of computer simulations, may not find Dragnet's services very useful. However, The idea behind the establishment of Dragnet looks noble, they only need to cash in on the right guys - the employers! |
Hi, I need information on how I can get COBRA 97 software for simulations. Please include cost implication and extra installation information if you are privileged to have it. |
This is a dicey situation and requires great care. I want to believe that there is a difference between dating and courtship; dating has to do with just being friends while courtship brings the marriage angle to view. When a relationship transcends to courtship, it shouldn't stretch too long! My angel and I intentionally kept our relationship at the dating level for eight years because we needed to go through school and become financially guaranteed before venturing into marriage. I particularly made her understand that she's free to marry if she encounters someone who can love her more than I do, but because I love her passionately, I made sure I show her love the way no man could without appearing to tie her down, money or no money. Four months back I formally proposed to her. We are getting married soon. One factor that helped was our mutual decision to put a stop to sex till we get married. Interestingly, eight years plus is just like eight days. We are so crazily in love, we seem no to see enough of ourselves and there is no unwanted pressure from in-laws. Everyone is better off. |

None of my phones has ever lasted over a year, so its no big deal. Bought one of these sleek phones in march and fell in love with it. Just compare the price with probably a Nokia N75 (that has no guarantee of not malfunctioning) in its first year. Men I'll rather change my phone thrice in three years than stick to an old expensive one that long. My phone has hit the floor about four times but still responds fine after being pieced together. My only problem is their lack of confidence in marketing their product under their brand name. They have nothing to fear because Nigerians have come to like their products. The era of only some highly paid dudes in their expensive cars carrying expensive looking phones have gone, even our house maid now uses a replica of Nokia N70 |
It is outrightly irritating that some maggot in sleek suit will spend mind-boggling fund to sponsor a show like BBA The show is totally unafrican and bereft of any cultural value In some homes like mine where humans are yet to become same with animals, the BBA channel was banned. |
Your brain is crowded with anesthetic emotions that makes you think you can't be happy without her. The truth is if you take your mind off her now, you will surely find someone else that will equally make you happy if not happier, and you will save the girl and yourself a heartache that will inevitably come. |
It can be really frustrating if you have the minutest doubt about your partners faithfulness. The key is to be open minded and don't let your imagination run too wild. I met my angel in P/H and a year later I moved to Lagos. She couldn't visit often 'cos I was yet to get an apartment. For two years she visited only twice. But we knew what we meant to each other and distance instead of waxing cold our love, actually fueled our passion and desire for each other. Things got better after I got an apartment. We are getting married soon. Trust, communication maturity and understanding are key to a successful long distance relationship. |
Hi, Can someone please remind me of the company that designed the computer (refinery) simulation used for Chevron skill test last year November? Reminder; the skill test for Operator/Maintenance Trainees took place at the Nicon Hotel VGC, after the aptitude test. Appearance |
There are lots of estate agents you can register with around that area. That will definitely hasten your chances |
I'm badly in need of a miniflat (One bedroom flat) anywhere around Akoka/Yaba. Budget is for two years. Contact me on 0806 270 6651 or appearanceojox@yahoo.com |
There is no doubt that The Intern is a great show. I was particularly happy when The MODE team outsold the girls in their first assignment despite their Sex-sells mentality. I guess that was a pitiable carry over ideology from their school days. Girls, welcome to the real world! You wanna outwit the guys? then do it the merit way. The modula oblongotta (pls pardon my medical inaccuracy) not the gusset inbetween the legs should be at work! |
Hi, thanks for the information. Can you please specify the post to be applied for. |
All John Grisham Books are cool, but The Chamber was a perfect triller. |
Hi Curie, U sound very understanding. I'm happy U made it too, but remember its not over till its over. I learnt that this skill test is very crucial and decisive. I've been preparing widely but I need to zero down to areas of concentration hence my desire to be intimated by fellow nairalanders who have written the test before. Can someone sow a useful seed in this regard? |
I wrote the test in Lagos on September 25th. |
Hi, Sorry for not giving details of the chevron skill test yesterday. It is a continuation of Operator/Maintenance Trainee screening tests that started since September. God in his magnanimity saw me through the aptitude test stage. I need to know what area to concentrate in my preparation for this skill test. Please help me . |

Please can anyone help me. I was called for Chevron Skill Test, but I don't know what the test entails. I'm writing the test on the 15th and will appreciate an urgent response. |
Hi Ashala, I guess everyone need to develop an individual approach to tackling critical reasoning tests. But you can buy a GMAT and study like mad. The bottomline is striking a balance between speed and accuracy. Don't let one rob you the other. Good luck man. |
Hey Pindo, Lucky you. I equally applied but I'm yet to receive an invitation for the test. A guy in my office received too and will be writing his test on the 20th. Does it mean the test is in batches? I feel my residential address which I used might be a bit difficult for the DHL guys to locate. Can I receive through my e-mail or better still get a phone call? |
