I have been thinking of settling down this year. Probably before July. I proposed to my GF this January and hoping that soon we will tie the knot.

Now here comes the big issue. Due to the economic situation, I budgeted a certain amount of money to cover the traditional rite and white wedding. The money is not much though, but am not out to impress any one. I don't want a situation where after the marriage, I will be feeling the heat of trying save money and to meet up with house expenses.

I have collected list of things that will be needed for the trad. If am to do 1/3 of what's on the list, with the current market price of things, the money I bugdeted for everything including the wedding won't be enough for it.
I have tentatively heard from my wife people and the logistics they placed around the traded too is demanding and from the looks of things, I will be the one footing everything.

I won't start listing all the supposed expenses that I will make just to follow protocol, which to me are unnecessary. I have seen marriage taken places without all these protocols and heaven no fall.

I told my dad about my plans of spending low on the marriage, he said I should discuss with my in-laws to be through a distant uncle of my wife. That I have done and the response was that the money won't be enough.

For me God knows my intention. Am not out to please anyone. Am going there with what I have, my plan is to ensure I pay the bride price and organise a simple trad and wedding.

If the family of the girl refuse, I gather my things and leave.

First of all I believe you're in love to the extent of footing the whole bills, I salute you.

At this juncture, I will advise you spend according to your budget. If anybody complains make dem balance the rest.

Trust me you don't wanna empty yourself to impress anyone and start a boring and broke marriage, that will lead to depression, anger and the beginning of issues to come.

I had a case where the young wife left after all pleading, family got involved but she still left anyways. Young husband was left devastated, heaped all the blame on himself.

Fast forward, they got back together only to discover she went to her ex who knew she was married and he sucked all the juice and travelled back to the US.

Young husband got to know and sent her packing finally forever this time around. She called to say she's pregnant but nobody cares.

Crazy things are happening.

Just do your underground search before fully accepting her back.

In this day and age where there are so few jobs around, you don't have to stress yourself looking for a job after school, because sadly, in Nigeria, chances are extremely slim, unless you're lucky, or favoured.
You could learn high income skills like Copywriting, programming, graphics designing and the likes.

How deep is your pocket?

For me I love the Avensis based on handling and ground control, but it's quite more expensive to maintain compared to the Camry. The cost difference isn't that too much as people piant it compared to maintaing the Camry.

It still depends on your pocket and the level of comfort you're looking for while driving.

In my opinion the honda CR-V is built for Nigeria. That motto no dey die, even the 1999 own still dey road with their smoky engine and rear k leg.

Get the 4x4 variant according to your description of the terrain in your area and ensure your don't abuse the engine and you're good to go.

Report the case to NAICOM and PENCOM, they're your best bet. Gather all your hard copy supporting documents, better if you're in Abuja based on head office things. If you're in Lagos go to their office accompanied by a lawyer or send an email first.

Visit NIACOM's and PENCOM's website and submit a complain.

When I read reports like this I quickly refer to the book titled "the manipulated man" by Esther Vilar. I don't know how these women did it that the whole society worships them and pays little or no importance to men.

Pure lies, those buses with other Lagos State assests are insured by Lagos State Insurance Company (LASACO) which is further spread across the Nigerian Insurance market.

The loss from material damage alone from the endsars claim gulped over N1.3b and we are still adjusting the business interruption aspect of the claim (the closed lekki toll gate).

Just last week we had another meeting with a Nigerian Reinsurance company on this same end sars claim.

I will not want to say much because as faceless as this forum might be I don't want to be dragged into this hot pot of lies.

So Mr governor should tell us another story, period.

The s80's with T6 engines are quite a drag. Best buys for Volvo's sedans are the T5's engine especially s60,V50 anything apart from 2008 downwards s80. Regardless no play with Volvo they make durable vehicles. Even 4runners Toyota dey break leg. Always observe your vehicles legs before driving talkless of going for a trip.
