Foreign AffairsRe: “Attack On Nigeria Could Be From France Or America And Not Niger” – El-Zakzaky by Apus: 6:45pm On Aug 17, 2023
ECOWAS' action (including that of the West) contravenes the principle of self-determination.

The general mood in Niger support the belief that the new government is popular among the people.

Is democracy by force? Does England or Spain practice Democracy?
Same West, asking Russia to withdraw from the war with Ukraine is pitting ECOWAS against Niger.

Omo, e good make pesin get money or regular sales in this business o.

Because of the current Dynadot promo, I decided to look through two of the past sets of domains that were available at the time I researched them. I suddenly noticed several names that I would have registered almost immediately by merely looking at them in a batch from December 2020.

When I rechecked, those domains were gone! cheesy I decided to check one that came to mind again this morning (rate//moon) and found that it's listed on SH for more than 3k. Meanwhile, I have only one SH premium-accepted in all these years and it (interestingly) came from that batch. I think I registered less than 10 domain names in that batch.

Moral: Once you know what you are doing, it helps if you can get good capital. Na money dem dey take make money.

Goes to show how very docile we are in this part of the world.

If the army and other security outfits had been proactive right from day one, these terrorists would have found it very difficult to gain foothold.

PoliticsRe: With Subsidy Removal, No More Increase Of Petrol Pump Price by Apus:
Dey play... Fuel price is tied to the stability of the dollars, being an import dependent nation.

What happened to "market forces determining the price" ? Abi Dem go still fix price for independent marketers who source foreign exchange mostly from the parallel market? Despite shortage in demand we still witness exponential increase in price.

This is what you get when you put the cart before the horse. Emilokan economics.

Which people are you talking about?
Some ethnic group who couldn't win through electoral process carried out a coup

Anybody who can think knows that in a multi-ethnic country the beneficiary of coups
will have support among their ethnic group.
This is how civil wars start in Africa.

PoliticsRe: Niger : Delegation From Ecowas, The UN And The African Union Refused Entry by Apus: 3:55pm On Aug 08, 2023
I don't know why these fraudulent democracies carry Niger's matter for head.

What gives any government legitimacy is it's popular acceptance by the people which we have seen in Niger.

When they were all crying about the massive corruption, suffering and poverty like we're experiencing here, these polithiefcians did nothing about it.
Naturally, they are bound to look elsewhere for their salvation since democracy has failed them.
EducationRe: Julius Malema Destroys Nigerian High Commissioner On Colonialism by Apus:
I'm happy that most African leaders(with the exception of Nigeria) are coming to see what America truly stands for.

Who says we are free from colonialism and imperialism?
Look around, apart from establishing military bases, they have put in place structures through which they control African nations be it economy(World bank, IMF, Unfavorable economic deals/partnership), politics(Political interferences, coup plotting, indirect resource control, enthroning political stooges) even culturally(gay, lesbianism).
Nigerian leaderspoliticians are the lowest of all; can't see beyond free donations and charity they receive. Useless people blinded by greed.
SportsRe: No Successful Man Will Ever Tell Or Show You His Source by Apus: 2:35pm On Aug 03, 2023
You have a point but saying no successful man will show you his source of wealth is not true. Saying this out of experience cos I've benefitted from people sharing their money-making ideas here on Nairaland for free which is rare.

The downside to this is that you might begin to face competition. It's just like inviting three of your friends to eat from your plate of rice. You won't be satisfied and neither would they. So I wouldn't blame those hiding their source of income especially if they are yet to make enough.
It's why even big companies have trade secrets or patent their ideas.
SportsRe: FIFA To Monitor Payment Of World Cup Prize Money And Bonuses To Nigerian Players by Apus: 1:17am On Aug 02, 2023
Nice development FIFA. I'm happy for them.

Just like our politicians, NFF administrators would've come up with a thousand and one reason to still owe these players despite their hard work and bringing glory to this nation.

Shame on them.

Foreign AffairsRe: Niger Ex-finance Minister Cries After Told To Explain Missing Funds Or Die by Apus:
nairalanda1:
It is because you never lived under army rule.

Even in that Niger republic, army rule was no better in the past.

Nigeria, let's even start from the 1966 coup...which caused problems that led to one brutal civil war, and which we are still dealing with the issues today, it is one of many reasons why we can't have a genuine people's revolution in Nigeria, because back in 1966, people were hailing the Five Majors, until they saw that some of their leaders had died, and some were left alive, and began singing partiality...and then it got worse.

Democracy does not work in Africa because we , harshly speaking, expect it to do things for us. Democracy works when you participate, when you accept that people won't like your ideas today, and when you campaign, campaign and campaign.

Like you that is talking...have you joined a party? Or if you no like the parties we get, have you formed one?

Army rule had the same issues with civilian rule. The same kwarruption was there. Missing money? e dey. Tribalisim, e dey. Wuruwuru? E dey. Even the foundation for the damage of our refineries was laid under army rule.

And you think they will do better this time? No be Nigerians?

Ok o.
Cut the crap...

I've heard this same lyrics before.
It's not like I was born yesterday. Was very much of age during Babangida and Abacha's military regimes.

Not exonerating military regimes as being flawless, infact Babangida's regime introduced corruption in Nigeria beginning from the police.

Just saying democratic system along with it's attendant institutions are weak because thieves not leaders rule. Our own democracy is even one of the most expensive in the world.

It's high time we put this democracy sh1t to an end. It's not helping us in any way.
Shey you get.

It's not working for us as black people.
We don't have strong and truly independent institutions not sure we'll ever do.
We the people are even worst off.
Almost like d black man was never destined to rule himself.
Foreign AffairsRe: Niger Ex-finance Minister Cries After Told To Explain Missing Funds Or Die by Apus:
Very good.

Seems Military regimes is the antidote to demo-crazy in Africa.

They've always preached about democrazy being the best form of government, yet it has little or zero impact on the common man in Africa. For me it is the highest form of aristocracy.
Of what use is a system of government if the will of the people is always manipulated and truncated by select powerful few.

Democracy is not democracy if the institutions (courts, federal character commission, media, INEC, e.t.c) meant to uphold it are in the pocket of these agbada-wearing gluttons.

Africa's type of democracy stinks...tueeh!

I am very very familiar with this story, let me debunk the misleading story line.

1. The dog in the question has been sick and was suffering from partial paralysis. Therefore couldn’t have pursued anyone to the extent of sustaining any form of serious injury.

2. The late brother was a neighbour to the owner of the dog

3. The late brother ran out of fear, he wasn’t being pursued nor attacked by the dog. Meanwhile how could a grown man run to so much to the extent of hitting his body part and dying in the process?

4. The brother was rushed to the hospital and the first thing they did was to start injecting him with pain relievers without proper a diagnosis

The brother has since been buried and the family have decided not to pursue any case.

May his soul Rest In Peace.

May we not be victims of any bad circumstances...Amen
Do people now visit hospitals just because they are afraid?
Your points 3 & 4 don't add up.

You are right.

Tech industry is already saturated as we speak, though I believe there is still space for any one who can persevere and distinguish himself.

Secondly, the industry is fast paced so much that a skill you learnt today can become obsolete tomorrow, no, thanks to AI.

Baba sef join.

When in power you behave like gods on earth, forgetting that we move in circles and what we have is only but transient.

Your high handedness, selling off Nigeria's assets to cronies & friends largely supervised by Atiku and looting of same proceeds with high level of corruption. Nigeria is bleeding when we should've been reaping the gains of democracy and past years of oil boom.

We Never have been fortunate enough to have a true Nationalist and a leader who is altruistic and has integrity(Yar'adua of blessed memory comes close though).
