Never ever pray to work for Dangote. Am telling you from a bad experience! |
Information reaching my desk has confirmed that Dangote Group has quietly issued termination letters to almost all the graduate drivers that were recently employed amidst much publicity. One of the affected graduate drivers who pleaded for anonymity, was actually crying when he narrated their ordeal. 'We went through a training program at NITT, Zaria for three months and were issued with employment letters by the Dangote Group in March 2013 at their head office in Lagos. We were all deployed to Dangote Cement Plant, Obajana ( Transport Division). At Obajana, the head of transport, ALHAJI LADAN, directed that we all be made to undergo an attachment with the more experienced drivers just to enable us gather much experience. We were all undergoing the attachment when, sometimes in May 2013, a directive came from the head office in Lagos, directing that all the graduate drivers that wish to leave driving should indicate interest to be converted to Fleet Officers (which is an office work). We all wrote to be converted to Fleet Officers and that's when the drama started. Instead of doing the conversion process once as was the case when we got issued with employment letters in Lagos, the cabal at Obajana dragged it slowly to enable them to smuggle in many people who were never part of the original set that received training in Zaria and employment letters in Lagos. The conversion started in June 2013 and ended in November 2013, a period of six months for something that should not have taken more than one week for a fair minded and serious set of people. At the end, only very few of the original graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers while the cabal in charge of the conversion exercise succeeded in getting their people into the positions meant for the graduate drivers. So, we were waiting for the exercise to continue when on December 02, 2013, the head of transport, ALHAJI LADAN, directed that our salaries be stopped. When we went to find out why our December salaries were stopped, they told us to come back today being January 06, 2014. So, you could imagine our surprises when, on reaching there today, they just came out and started issuing termination letters to us.' When asked how many graduate drivers were converted to Fleet Officers, he replied that they were about six. He further revealed that the scheme was actually a ploy used by the company to take a loan from a foreign agency and to boost its image both at home and abroad, and that's why the company is doing away with the graduate drivers now that the deed has been done. He further berated the set of people that heads the transport sector at Obajana, who are all Northern Hausa Muslims, for being overly incompetent and corrupt. He is still confused as he seems confused on what to do next. *****I'm not happy for making this front page for the first time ( January for that matter) with a bad news. He keeps asking me "What now?! I just can't figure it out!" Pathetic indeed.***** |
First, she should blame herself for being so careless. Why should you have an unprotected sex with someone who is not your husband? Second, your case is not the worst I have seen. I have seen ladies who went through worse situations but today, honestly, they are spending their lives with someone better than the guy they lost. So, just believe that Chris is not the best for you. Third, go and screen yourself for STDs. He may have given you some other things apart from pregnancies. Fourth, SMILE , the best is still on the way. |
Any right thinking person will ask why he waited until his tenure is coming to an end before giving free education to Kano people. It's just a cheap political gimmick. |
This part of the letter is well understood and coming from GEJ, it's the clincher. OBJ is not just very corrupt but also has blood in his hands. |
I'll score him 9.5/10. The letter shows maturity, coherence, focus and a deep sense of knowledge on the part of GEJ. Kudos! |
This is a comprehensive, insightful and an educative response. Shameless! |
Na wash |
This piece is quite insightful and encouraging. |
DANGOTE CEMENT PLC, OBAJANA ( Transport Division) The Hausas and the Indians that oversee things here use people as piece of sh*t . |

This is my own idea of a natural resource |
B.Sc. Geology And Mining. |
Why have they not called for the resignation of the transport minister following the catalogue of road crashes in our country Bloody hypocrites!!! |
Four good months! It was a very hard period but I thank GOD for today. |
I prefer not to disclose my pay packages here. I hope you will understand me on this and ask other questions if you still have any. |
I met one of them he told me everything.he complain of poor condition of service-salary #24,459:00.
#That information is totally wrong. |
@ arab-bunkum It seems you truly know what you're saying about the dangote stuff! First of all, I want to congratulate you and other sucessful applicants. I had to ask about the job cos if you remember well, it generated a lot of ummmm..dust here on nairaland... I'm glad you're doing well. There was also a big debate about the pay! Was it up to 150k as speculated by most of us!!?
The stated salary in the appointment letter is not up to that but it's not bad. |
OCTAVO: Wow, that's ok.YES, we used Dangote Cement Truck to haul cement to every nook and cranny of this country though with the assistance of more mature and experienced truck drivers. Talking about the experience, it was really tough but with our perseverence and prompt assistance from the attached drivers, we were able to pull through. |
In summary: a. We had a 3month training at NITT, Zaria which ended on Feb 09, 2013. b. We were issued with appointment letters on March 01, 2013 at the HQ in Lagos. At this point, some guys rejected the offer for reasons best known to them. c. We were given brand new trucks in Lagos and work started in earnest. d. Two months later (May), the mgt directed that anyone of us that wish to leave driving should apply for conversion. At this point, those guys that rejected the offer at Lagos rushed back but the mgt rejected them. e. Today (July 21), most of us that applied for conversion have been converted and deployed to various offices at Obajana while those that love driving are still doing it. f. Never neglect anything. g. Thank Aliko Dangote for me wherever you see him. |
Guys, i feel the presence of some people who were hired by Dangote to do a hatchet job on this issue. Their aim is to do a damage control on the image of the company. The best you can do is to ignore their shallow and myopic views. Thanks. |
This is a typical modern day slavery. With which criteria did the management of Dangote arrive at such a paltry sum as a stipend for a 3month training for these graduates? This Dangotes' graduate drivers scheme is just to exploit our helpless unemployed youths. |
30k for three months training? This whole thing is a corporate scam! |
, the best is still on the way.
Shameless!
