Politics › Re: Opinion About The Attack On Tinubu And Godfatherism by archangel1(m): 8:45pm On Sep 26, 2020 |
Bodexman: In the recent weeks, we've seen several attacks on the personality of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, mostly by the igbos. One would wondered the reasons behind the attack. Firstly, Tinubu has never ruled any of their states nor cross the path of their leaders to warrant such attacks. The Igbos have taken up important positions within the Lagos State government circle simply because of this same Tinubu, while some of them have been pushed to the federal level. This same Tinubu left government in 2007, and since then decided to work on himself and became influential while some of his then colleagues left for the senate while others were looking for federal appointment. He never jostle for any, rather he elevated others instead for those positions. That is what leaders are made of.
You don't become a leader by taking up every positions or opportunity thrown at you, rather you empower others to get there.
"Leaders made men" and that's what Tinubu is.
People have been saying his men are everywhere in government occupying top positions. It was so because he decided to give it out and help others instead of occupying it. This is a man who has never been a federal appointee before and you wondered why Tinubu is influential? Do you think his colleagues are not envious of him and wish to do same? I read in a newspaper page some couple of years back where Gov. Okowa of Delta State celebrated Tinubu on his birthday, a full page space paid by the Delta state govt. Isn't that influence? Tinubu has his men even in the PDP, I mean real men
So why won't people see him as a godfather? They also forget that Tinubu is not just one man. He is simply surrounded by men who he also listen to
Do you know that the Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo of Nigeria politics today is Tinubu?
The PDP will rather let go of Obaseki or Wike if Tinubu decides to join them today, and that's the bitter truth!
Many people shouting down at him will do worse if they are to be in his position.
Finally, I have noticed that the attack on Tinubu from mostly the Igbos is because of 2023. They know the man is the major stumbling block for them if they are to win the presidential contest, hence the need to whittle down his power and influence. They simply can't point to a man who can stand shoulder to shoulder with him, hence the beef and noise everywhere.
They shout the Yorubas are slaves to Tinubu, yet they have some useless godfathers in their region who failed to help them develop their states, yet they never bother to dethrone them, but Tinubu is their major problem. The leave their region in droves so as to seek greener pastures in a state controlled by this same man they love to hate while theirs in a sorry state.
When are they going to stand up to their godfathers who are starving their states and milking their region dry at the detriment of the people?
They claim they don't worship men, they are liberal, yet one certain Kanu came from nowhere whose achievement in the corporate world cannot match that of Tinubu even before he joined politics in any way, he played on their intelligence, extort them and run away. The man assumed the position of a god to them during his short stay here, though many of them still worship him today.
Godfathers are everywhere. Even in your locality. In Nigeria politics, when one godfather is dethrone, another emerges. Mr Ibori is still there controlling Delta politics. Wike is simply going to be one, the list goes on and on.
If as a Yoruba man, you're still thinking that the reason behind the attack on Tinubu is because of godfatherism, you're making a mistake, IT IS SIMPLY BECAUSE OF 2023.

Girlwhocares: Please help me, I'm loosing my sanity everyday! I'm scared to open up to friends and families because of what they will think or how disappointed or bad I will make them feel, also I'm afraid people will be judgemental about my actions.
I'm not physically and emotional connected with my husband which is affecting our marriage and my well-being, we live as co-tenant, we hardly have any conversation, we do things differently, we share different rooms, no sex for the past 3 years! Even during courtship and the fist two years of marriage I can account for days we were intimate.
Things are fallen out of place everyday, we have a child together who will be 4yrs and the thought of having another child has not crossed my mind.
I get irritated at everything, I hardly show appreciation towards him even if it means he has done his best, which later i will find myself guilty and try to make up but the spark and connection isn't just there.
Most times, I have a non-challant attitude towards him and everything he does to make me happy.
I feel lonely, bored and incomplete even when I'm 90% sure my husband loves me and always ready to make me happy.
I feel awkward communicating my feelings and thoughts to him because I know I might flare up with anger even when he hasn't done or said anything to warrant it.
Please I have come to this faceless forum to pour out my mind, my heart is heavy, I need someone to talk to, I'm afraid my personal intention of walking out this marriage even when my husband hasn't done anything to deserve this might backfire and has its negative effect on our child.
I honestly don't need anyone to insult me please as I'm going through a lot. All i need is mature married wo(men) opinions
Thank you for your time. My observations:l (1) The Op still love or has soft spot for her husband but the problem lies in discovering it. (2) The Op tried objectively to give details but still reticent with her stories. Certain things either asymmetrical or esoteric apparently happened during the deep relationship with the said Ex. Perhaps, with consequent effect on the current marriage. 3) The Op is still communicating with her ex. Or somebody that knows him Or the Ex might had attained a certain level she never hitherto expected . PANACEA: These weird capsules below will surely assuage your Situation.; 1) Don't go to any professional anymore because from your stories, you have already developed ambivalence about them. At this stage, be your own professional with two paraphernalia; deep self examination and sincerity. Or you go to the root: confide in your mother only. 2) Exempt your self from social media for a long period. Difficult and near impposible but you may not understand the invariable effect in the long run. 3) You have to defy every ill feeling and indifference religiously, consciously or unconsciously and begin to take bath together with husband almost daily including massaging foray. The psychological effect will amaze you more than what a professional will recommend. Perhaps, allow the urge for sex come on its own. 3) cancel every communication channels with your Ex and his close friends with immediate effect. If possible change environment. 4) review your spirituality. Something is very wrong somewhere. Above all, you still have soft spot for your hubby just turn it in to love and understanding; the two strategic tools needed in marriage and that is the intrinsic reason you have never ased for divorce uptil this moment. Drink my weird capsules and you will surely make a headway in this marital quagmire of yours. Thanks |

Politics › Abba Kyari Please! by archangel1(op): 9:39am On Sep 04, 2019 |
Please, in the name of God; the creator of universe, I wish to use this forum to beckon on Nairalanders ; who are Kanuris of Borno state or any Nigeria reading this; who has direct or indirect access to beg our prime minister, Abba Kyari to take a decisive action against South Africa now.
Our people are in serious dilemma over there. They are dying in quantum. Property worth millions of dollars lost in just couple of days. Those who have not watched the Video may not understand the situation now.
Many have calling on the president to heed to their call, but is like the president is either waiting for his October schedule with his south African counterpart to talk or he is still gathering information. Though we were told that a high powered ministerial delegate had been sent to South Africa. Is that enough? what happened to Jonathan's 2012 syndrome of retaliation; which saw south Africa come begging with official apology and redress?
How many of them will still be alive till the Month of October amidst of a situation, a South African govt official came on live telecast, inciting their citizens against foreigners. Some shallow minded will come giving excuse that Nigerians are not the only target. With benefit of hindsight, there is no gainsaying that our president is slow in taking critical decision like this, so I decided, while others are calling on the President as usual, let me try intercessory approach; our 'prime minister' may serve as a catalyst to this plea considering the enormous power he is wielding in present political dispensation. I hope we can't deny this.
let's come together and dispense with all our ethnic and religious affiliations and force our government to take a drastic decision that will invariably protect our fellow citizens over there.
I hail thee, fellow Nairalanders. |
