Dhugal:Akalaka was the first oba, having founded the present day ogba kingdom. Just for the record,NNAM OBI was never the second OBA in ogbaland. Are you from the ogba extraction? |
Ugomba:Don't come online and say what you don't know.I'm a native of Omoku in ogbaland, there is no such thing as Eze of ogbaland but OBA OF OGBALAND.Cause history account for our bloodline with the Benin's.So saying that it was recently changed is a slap on our traditional heritage. It has always and will forever be Oba of ogbaland. |

Abdul Rehman Khan You are a club that was on the verge of relegation and a miracle prevented you from going to the second tier. Your goal for the new season is the magical 40 point mark to avoid relegation. You sign a manager who was sacked by Greece after they lost to the Farore islands(can't even spell them correctly), sacked at Monaco. Even your own ex-players and fans were wary. The striker was told that he could never be a footballer. He was playing in the bottom of the tiers. Your playmaker was signed from ligue 2. The rest of the squad is made up of has beens and rejects from the top teams. You win a few games and the rest of the world thinks it's great for football but say it will be over soon. Vardy, breaks the record of scoring in consecutive games and everybody cheers him on but they don't think you will become champions. Autumn turns into winter and everyone says the festive season will haunt them but you thrive on it. People start noticing that the bubble hasn't burst, they start thinking but it's still not possible they say. Match after match, week after week, you start grinding out results. People start becoming believers, they start to trickle in. They pinch themselves to be sure they aren't dreaming. Soon you stand on the edge of immortality. When you go out on that hallowed turf, you have the time of your life. You leave everything on that pitch. The story of the ultimate underdogs winning the championship built on the back of blood, toil, tears, sweat and a lot of heart. Stuff like this doesn't happen outside of the world of fiction. In the world of football where corruption is rampant, money is thrown at every player that is labeled "world class" and loyalty is a dying breed. Where legends are thrown out of the clubs they have served for twenty years. In a world of football dominated by mega stars it needs a win by Vardy and company. It needs to make the smaller club dream again. It needs to make the common man fall in love with football again. Maybe one last feel-good moment before the game is changed completely. |
I'm so happy that it was in my era such a great feat was achieved in football all across the globe.I have a great history to tell my children yet unborn, that a certain team called Leicester city who struggled to stay in the league in the previous season emerged the league winner in the subsequent season. 2015/2016 EPL season one of the most speculated and comical in British football history. |
Moderators ,please kindly move our thread to front page. cc:mukina2 ogbeche77 etc |

[quote author=clintwine post=45054410]Please my People, How do we start championing this cause of reducing Nigeria to just 6 states can we the people of Nigeria have a referendum on this The Nigerian state at large is grossly mismanaged and has a lot of overheads and loop holes resulting in a lot of inefficiencies The creation of multiple states and local governments are just channels for corruption I believe that we can become a more efficient state by collapsing the 36 states into the 6 States, based on the Geo-Political zones This will increase our productivity as a nation 6 states(We can call them all different names) : North Central North-Eastern North-Western South-Eastern South-Southern South-Western And create a law where each state will have a maximum of 30 districts (total of 180 districts -- with district mayor(head) and a Lawmaker representative) And grant each state autonomy on loads of things and core issues like Army etc be handled by federal government, this way we have a true Federal government On who should become Head of state, I am of the opinion that we have a President and a Prime Minister with various roles, and it should be rotational. Where the President/Prime Minister come from 2 different states and after 8 years (2 tenures) , the next president/prime minister is gotten from another state. (-- This will reduce the high Tribalism and ethnicity problem) The order of Rotation must also be known, so each state knows when it is their turn to produce the president or prime minister ( Similar to how some Igbo communities select the Kings from villages that make up the community in a rotational way). The Democrazy as we have it is a sham, it does not favor the Nigerian Populace I am of the opinion that when you see someone wearing a beautiful dress and u like how it so fits and people comment on it, you don't pick the same dress and try to force it on yourself (it is madness), you go pick what will look good on you and fit you as no 2 sizes fits all. Thumbs up bro. This is what I called rational thinking at work and not all this hate message that has characterized this floor I keep asking, what makes the traditional stool in our respective communities works in terms of administration than the so called system of government will practice? We need to have a debate on this, let's see the merits, demerits and ways of implementation of this collapse of states into zones,so as to coexist with each other. |
Djbaka:May God reward you with more wisdom for your rapt analysis on this thread.I have been reading with keen interest to see I can get someone who will eventually see the sane-ness in the message rather than cast myopic and ethnic aspersions on it. People fail to argue rationally and logically on issues that borders on nationalism rather they will resort to tribe, hate, ethnicity and religion and names calling just to buttress their selfish point. |
On a normal day, tiwa is never a pretty lady to me,but the hair do looks nice on her while dija's beauty reek madness out of my head. As for Agbani,oh! my father what a lovely creature..... Baba God,what a design and concept.! |
Mynd44:The silence in the upper chamber when this bill was brought should tell you that 2/3 majority in HOR is extra possible to get.Political prostitutes are easily cornered to the bed.So they will all fall in line. |
Patriotic youths in Nigeria get prepared to wrestle power out from this old folks killing the country .

DjAduba:Are you saying since the north is more populated than the west ,then they consume more fuel than the west or south. How many cars, hotels, industries are in the north ? Your comparison holds no water at all.. |

By Henry Umoru ABUJA— SECRETARY to the Government of the Federation, David Lawal and some in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration have been accused of being the masterminds of plots to remove Senate President, Bukola Saraki, from office. Lawal and others were also accused of being part of the team that did not want the Saraki matter resolved. Speaking to journalists, yesterday, Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Isa Misau, APC, Bauchi Central, however, debunked insinuations that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would take over the Senate if Saraki was removed. The senator, who noted that what was needed to resolve the Saraki matter was political solution, said some hardliners in the administration were stalling the solution. He alleged that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation recently met with some elders in the Senate, but turned down the requests. He said: “I reliably gathered that some of our elders in the Senate once went to meet the Secretary to Federal Government, SGF, Mr. David Lawal, in order to find solutions to this problem. ‘’They were surprised by some of his utterances and they reported back to some senators that he vowed that this matter will not be resolved until Saraki goes down for spiting the party leadership.” While speaking on the possible PDP take over of the senate, Misau said the senators of APC would do all within their powers to defeat the PDP if it came to producing another senate president. He said: “What my friend, distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, said will not happen because the APC caucus of the Senate will under no circumstances allow Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki to be removed. “But I understand the larger implication of what Nwaoboshi is saying because our majority in the Senate is very slim which means we need to be careful and that is why we need to find a political solution to this crisis and this trial of the Senate President at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.” The senator also clarified that senators of the APC recently decided to close ranks to ensure there was unity of purpose, adding that the meeting had nothing to do with the travails of Saraki. Misau, who noted that the Senate President remained popular among senators across the geopolitical zones, said: “I am a Muslim and I know that nobody can be a leader without the will of the Almighty Allah. ‘’But I can tell you today that 99 percent of the senators are solidly behind Saraki. So what we call closing of ranks is actually for us to unite behind our leadership in the Senate, behind the Federal Government and also behind President Muhammadu Buhari,’’ he said. According to him, the APC caucus in the senate has made several efforts to ensure political solution but regretted that interference of those he called hardliners. He said: “Several efforts have been made and are still being made. However, there are challenges. Despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s commendable position not to interfere, there are some hardliners within this government who are still fueling this matter and are, as a matter of fact, interfering with the trial.” |

horlapelumi:I think the former president's remark was personal as regards to the amalgamated entity called Nigeria. It is generally perceived that there was something fundamentally wrong with the amalgamation of the present day Nigeria. How can one justified the favour a particular region enjoys at the expense of others, hence the call for referendum . |
PassingShot:Is this really passingshot or photocopied one.....You are now seeing realities on ground about the dubious change mantra APC sold to gullible Nigerians. |
rottennaija:Which monorail? Sometimes I wonder how some folks will come online and display a magnitude of ignorance as you just did.Monorail was a state project,in fact it is only in port Harcourt metropolis that the derain monorail project is suitated at.Don't remind us of how our hard earn resources was squandered by Ameachi on that project that was abandoned. |
