Politics › Re: SS/SE Need Deep Seaport Not Calabar To Lagos Rail. Give Us Deep Seaport. by aresa: 2:37pm On Apr 11, 2016
socialmediaman:
You kinda forget that Cross River, Akwa Ibom have potentials for tourism and technology growth which could build those economies. People will frequent these cities for relaxation and business from all over Nigeria if commute would be faster
Lack of good transportation and easy access is the reason why places like Tinapa and Obudi are not doing great since their largest customer bases is Lagos.

This rail also means good transportation for millions of Nigerians in that region for business, pleasure and private, less stress, pressure, maintenance and accidents on our roads.. The benefits are endless and let's not even talk about the thousands of jobs involved..

A seaport is under federal list not state governors.

People want to talk but have very little idea.

Will the federal governmnet ever approve such for SE?

BEST WAY FORWARD IS FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH TO CONSTRUCT IT.
Very weak, sad and ignorant excuse..

Lagos state is a state and they are building a deep seaport in Lagos state

Ondo and Ogun are states inside Nigeria and they are jointly building a deep seaport in OLOKOLA FREE TRADE ZONE.

Another deep seaport is set to go up in Badagry

These deep seaports are all state projects and not FG projects.

You can not say the FG won't approve the project when you are yet interest fist or put any plans on the table for the FG to look at and approve.

You are basically making up excuses for lazy, weak thinking and incompetent leaders which is very unnecessary. Other states are moving forward and doing their own thing without waiting for any FG to do anything for them, but not the SE, they just sit down and cry foul all day long. Other states are building their own bridges, but not SE, they yelled for 30 years and still no bridge. When are you going to pull resources together and build your own bridge.?

That is whistle blowing. Please ma'am be open minded.
Vanguard learned that although the N60 billion meant for the Calabar-Lagos rail budget was not in the original budget, the Budget and National Planning Minister, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, successfully defended and got it included in the amended budget.

No body is begging anymore. QED.

What about Jona the son of the soil? He spent 6 years in office and awarded many federal projects in other regions bit never this rail project or anything meaningful project in in the SS/SE.

The people you hate including Amaechi are the ones fighting for the project to be constructed, but the useless clowns you follow follow around are yet to lift a finger and didn't even say anything about the.

All those asking what of the South West Senators are really not serious.

Amaechi came to Port-Harcourt and told the Rivers People that this project will benefit them. He highlighted how much jobs it would generate for people in the Niger Delta.

This same project left the budget and someone from the Niger Delta is asking why the Senators of the South South region allowed it to happen.

You guys are asking for South West Senators.

Haba.

We ask our Senators questions, not Senators from other regions.

Sen. Ben Bruce, drop the phone, stop twitting and look up. It also concerns your constituents.

The North doesn't own the country, incompetent, lazy, shortsighted and unintelligent elected officials in other parts of the country makes it look that way.

The man aggitating for this project to take off and actually put money on the table to get it done is a northerner.

A southerner and son of the soil was in power for 5 years and he made zero effort to make it happen and in fact, he made zero effort to make anything happen.

This northerner puts his money where his mouth is, the son of the soil refused to put up federal money dor 2nd NB bridge and instead sold the project to JB to build and toll for 25 years, meaning the clueless people in his own region are going to pay for that bridge out of their own pocket.

The same son if the soil looked for money to do rail projects in the north, but refused to look for 1kobo to do anything foe his own people in the south and his always clueless and bigoted so called pillar of support in the SE.

Lagos calabar rail system is not only destined to debelop the region and boost the country's transportation system, but also create thousands of jobs along the way, but when was the last time anything was said by the senators and reps from that region in favor of this project and their own people back home.?

Ben Bruce spends more time on Twitter spewing unintelligent rubbish on Twitter than on the Senate floor looking out gor that region and his own people and the others are in Abuja just to collect salaries.

Please don't blame the North, blame your useless and worthless leaders im the south. Northerners care about your region more than your own useless leaders, even the 2nd nb was built by a northerner..

Goodluck can die and we won't bother, Buhari can die and we won't even care but for this man......

The Clinton dynasty’s horrific legacy: How “tough-on-crime” politics built the world’s largest prison system

There is also very strong evidence that these policies contributed to the immiseration of vast numbers of black (and also white) Americans at the bottom of the economic ladder, according to the well-known conclusions of journalists, academics and other criminal justice experts. Federal funding for public housing fell by $17 billion (a 61 percent reduction) under Bill Clinton’s tenure; federal funding for corrections rose by $19 billion (an increase of 171 percent), according to Michelle Alexander’s seminal work, “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness.” The federal government’s new priorities redirected nearly $1 billion in state spending for higher education to prison construction. Clinton put a permanent eligibility ban for welfare or food stamps on anyone convicted of a felony drug offense (including marijuana possession). He prohibited drug felons from public housing. Any liberal arts grad with an HBO account can tell you the consequences for poor, black American cities like Baltimore. As Alexander writes, “More than any other president, [Clinton] created the current racial undercaste.
