I respect your opinion but [s]you could have made it better without insulting the distinguished senator[/s]. Anyways thanks for listing the benefits of these trips.

But the "constructive criticism" am talking about is criticism devoid of insults
The fact that he is distinguished to you doesn't mean he is distinguished to other people. Different strokes for different folks.

Nothing distinguished about a twitter based public official spewing ignorant, unintelligent and thoughtless rubbish everyday.

Nothing distinguished about a public official who participated in the same rot and decay he cries about everyday

Nothing distinguished about the man who as the head of the NTA for 8 years achieved nothing on behalf of Nigerians and turning the NTA into a stone age TV station and political branch of his party.

Nothing distinguished about the man who wrecked NTA while his own silverbird entertainment and TV progressed with cinemas and malls

Nothing distinguished about the man who stashed his own kinds in America with bought and paid for American education while shouting buy Naija when in fact he refused to buy naija education for his own kids.

Nothing distinguished about a man who shouts buy naija everyday while printing his book in the USA when in fact our own Shomolu in Lagos remains the printing capital of sub saharan african.

Nothing distinguished about a man who was silent and had no common sense when his own party looted, shared and diverted our commonwealth.

Again, the fact that he is distinguished to you doesn't mean he is distinguished to other people.

I like Ben Bruce because of his constructive criticism. But I think we should not all see this travelling of the President as just touring the world we need to accept the fact that the last administration has really dented the image of this country and He(Buhari) is just trying to portray the good image of Nigeria and attract investors to the country. If really we are interested in diversification of the economy we need to support this govt and if they fail we can also boot them out come 2019.

Ben Bruce you have my respect as your constructive criticism is always welcome.
Enjoyed you post, but definitely not the highlighted and I'll you why..

Every foreign visit is calculated to bring direct benefits to Nigeria and Nigerians in general so it's very pointless and brainless to say he needs to focus on local issues instead of foreign issues especially when in fact whatever deals he strikes out there or whatever investments he managed to direct to Nigeria or even whatever billions of stolen dollars he negotiated to be returned to Nigerians benefit Nigerians locally.

During this visit alone, he secured over $600 million worth of investments for Nigeria, so who exactly is this money going to benefit either via jobs, power, education, roads, bridges and so on? Nigerians of curses.

Who is the agreement that lifted EU ban on our beans going to benefit? Nigerians in Nigeria and our local farmers.

Who is the agreement signed in Dubai to return stolen funds going to benefit? Nigerians in Nigeria or the people of Dubai?
Nigerians in Nigeria or foreigners.?

Every foreign visits or summit is calculated to get many things done on the sidelines, for example, the president went to the summit in the US, but the $600 million he secured was not part of the summit, it was arranged on the sidelines.

The agreement to help Nigeria locate and return stolen billions to Nigeria was struck on the summit sidelines. These summits and meetings are always designed to many other things on behalf of the visiting countries. If we have deals to negotiate with heads of multiple countries, the countries involved arrange to meet at these events to negotiate their deals instead of traveling to each country.

This is common sense, but we have brainless people like bruce who instead of peddling common sense ends up spewing garbage and ignorance about his own country.

The same bruce was part of the same footing and sharing 16 year old government that looted and shared our money while the same bruce had no common sense to peddle and was silent while his gang wrecked Nigeria.

If PDP was in power today, we won't here his voice or any of his common sense nonsense...

Shows you how thoughtless, shortsighted and misguided his baseless criticisms are.

Not here to argue with you but since you are talking about schools, 95 I percent of public schools in AKS were upgraded to look better than private schools during Akpabio's regime under the Inter-Ministerial. The State Government Teachers salaries and allowances were increased to a very reasonable level and Public education from Primary to secondary level was made compulsory. Akpabio touched lives in AKS in no small measures. If you refuse to see his goodwill just because you carry old brooms that is your own business. Like I said earlier, am not here to argue with you. Good morning and bye.

Despite the yearly allocation of several billions of naira for the construction of a proposed greenfield deep seaport at Ibaka in Akwa Ibom State by both the State Government and the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) since 2011, the project has remained elusive, with no evidence of a port being built at the proposed site.

The project is missing in the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan and in the list of similar projects planned in partnership between the federal government and state government, with expectations of private investors collaborations, investigations by LEADERSHIP have revealed.

The Ibaka Deep Seaport, a project for which the federal ministry of transport, the NPA and the Akwa Ibom State Government have held several workshops and taken commendations at several events is also missing in a maritime and air transport report prepared by Steer Davies Gleave for the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) hosted by

The African Development Bank.

The study, which was carried out to assess the potential for enhanced private participation in the maritime and air transport sectors in Africa however identified the Lekki Deep Seaport measuring 970m of container berths, 320m dry bulk berth, 1-2 oil berths and located 60km east of Lagos.

The Badagry greefield port, Koko Port and Olokola Port were also listed with their capacity and promoters.

The water at Ibaka is said to have a natural draft of 11 metres, without dredging, making it a huge potential for possible deep seaport construction.

Akwa Ibom State has continued to budget for the port, which Governor Godswill Akpabio said would create employment for 100,000 Nigerians.

The NPA had also told LEADERSHIP in Uyo at the PCC meeting that the deep seaport would be completed in 2015.

When LEADERSHIP visited the proposed site of the deep seaport at Ibaka, there was nothing to show that a seaport was being planned at coastal community.

A lonely dilapidated narrow road, better described as a colonial road leads to Ibaka, from Oron. As early as 2011, the Akwa Ibom State Governor told a Nigeria Ports Consultative Council (PCC) meeting in Uyo that his government had concluded plans to dualise the road.

http://allafrica.com/stories/201312160580.html
Akpabio budgets billions every year for this invisible seaport.

1. Ibaka seaport is not in the FG gazette and there is zero FG budget for it.

Meaning the FG doesn't know anything about this seaport officially

2. Akpabio budgets billions for this bridge every year with not even bush clearing or fence erected.

Meaning Akpabio pockets free billions every year.
