Politics › Re: Panama Papers: David Mark Denies Having Eight Offshore Companies by aresa: 5:17pm On Apr 07, 2016
However, Joshua Olufemi, Project Manager at the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, has punctured the former Senate president’s claims.
Poor Mark...

“It is the height of falsehood for David Mark to claim he has looked through the database, and that he didn’t find his name,” Mr. Olufemi said. “The database is not public, and the strict security protocol around it will not allow unauthorised users to access it. So which database did he check?
My guess exactly. Where and what exactly did he checked?

See ya life. This is when these crooks try to wiggle out of their mess with lies and end up digging theor own graves. They honestly think we are all dumb. This is digital 2016 and not in the 70s and 80s when you burn down documents and government buildings to cover your tracks.

“It is sad that a man who was the number three official in our country will cook up this level of lies. If he indeed has access to the database, he should look again, and he will find his name and his companies listed there. The earlier he accepts that reality the better.”
Mr. Olufemi said his centre will, through its parent newspaper, PREMIUM TIMES, release additional information on Mr. Mark’s case as necessary.

From June 2011, former Governor Saraki started receiving his pension, which was N578,188.00 as other past governors in the country,” Gold said in a statement.

The statement added that after the review of pensions of former political office holders by the state pension board, the former governor’s pension increased to N1,239,493.94 monthly from October 2014 to date.
demanded details of his (Mr. Saraki) salary account during investigations and discovered that he received regular salaries after the expiration of his tenure on May 29, 2011.
“His salary for June was N291,412:75k
, while that of July, August and September were N572,286:32k, N744,000 and N743,942 respectively,” Mr. Wetkast said.
Ok, the state government is trying to wiggle out of their collusion and conspiracy to defraud the people of Kwara state even by justifying the jump in payment to over 1 million per month while failing to explain the monthly jump from N291,412 > N572,286 >N744,000.

Is the state saying they did salary or pension review and increased payments every month on behalf of their former governor.?

There are things you can't cover or wash away with lame and insulting reasons...

The state should have stayed out of it instead of doing abobaku pending EFCC assault on their fabrications..

LadyExcellency:
Saraki is as evil as Tinubu and Fashola respectively. We have an obligation to condemn both and not absolve one for whatever reason.

The Lagos State Governor and Deputy Governor's Bill passed in 2007 is one of the most secretive Bills passed by the Lagos House of Assembly as contained in the List of Bills Passed see http://adeyemiikuforiji.org/legislation.html

Lagos State, Law No. 11 of 2007 of Lagos State gives pension to any former governor who completed two terms equivalent to the exact salary paid to the sitting governor, plus 300 per cent of his or her basic salary as furniture allowance. In addition, the law provides choice houses, bullet-proof cars to be renewed every three years; eight policemen and two SSS details, entertainment, car maintenance, house maintenance, personal assistant, and utility allowances among other things.
The bogus link you posted doesn't reflect your claim. Find something better to prove your point with..

You need to reformat your empty brain. See how casually you're glossing over an issue that is critical to entrenching the Rule of Law.

So because Thief A stole money and spent it on the community, he should be ignored, while it is OK to persecute suspected Thief B because he supposedly doesn't have a 'kiosk'?

Some of you should be tied to the stake and shot for your stupidity. Selective justice is injustice. Simple. If the likes of Tinubu, Amaechi and Fashola cannot be subjected to the same judicial processes as the other 'thieves', then what the hell are we talking about? No wonder Africa is such a joke. Until we are ready to apply the laws equally without stupid excuses or exemptions, the so-called anti - corruption war by this retard called Buhari is an irritating comedy show.
Tinubu's political opponents aka the PDP and Jonathan put Tinubu on trial for corruption and with all the law enforcement tools and international law enforcement corporation at their disposal, they came up with nothing.

Even the silly charges they managed to put together was operating foreign accounts, but nearly all the accounts were his wife and kids account with little or nothing in the accounts and zero looted funds.

So, please let us see your own facts against Tinubu and what the PDP and Jona missed that you saw.

I'm talking about a former employer, not a random depositor.
Random or not, it makes no difference because it's still deposited money by accident that doesn't belong to you.

You have to show me exactly how it is an offense to assume (assuming that was the case) that my former employer did not choose to continue paying me for X number of months or years as a goodwill gesture, or as reward for my meritorious service.
You can not assume that strange funds in your accounts that gets deposited every month belongs to you or deposited fr some good gesture unless you can prove with documents facts from the state stating that the deposited funds reflected some meritorious reward.

Do you get rewarded every month or you still work for the same employer that you still deserve meritorious reward every month?

Was anything on paper stating that you deserve meritorious reward in bank deposits every month?

You overreached with that and you made no sense at all..

Besides, what law exactly in Nigeria criminalises the sort of action you're talking about? Where there is no law there is no crime. ... More so, considering that the recipient can use a million plausible rationales to justify his right to withdraw funds from his own account. The law does not say that account holders have a duty to confirm that they were expecting a specific deposit before withdrawing from their own fucking account. If you must reply, kindly controvert my post with reference to specific laws. Long stories or unfounded opinions would not be entertained.
There is no law against spending your own money, but there are laws against spending what doesn't belong to you even if it was deposited into your account by mistake.

Specific law and crime committed is theft. This is even worse than the example I gave about the convicted teen who spend deposited money in his account because that was a one time deposit, but in Saraki's case, we are talking about multiple deposits so if not caught once by oversight, what about subsequent deposits..?

The fact that the money came from the people of the same state you used to govern means you have not only have a moral obligation to stop the deposits, but also social civic and patriotic obligation to do so as the former chief law enforcer of the same state.

He did not cheat any bureaucracy with his actions, he cheated the people of his own state.

You're referring to beer parlour or marketplace law young man. You can as well reference the specific law that informed your assertion. I cannot be culpable in any way if my former employer unwittingly continues to credit my salary account long after I relinquish the position.

It is not my business to report bureaucratic cluelessness. Our laws are not based on 'morality', which is always subjective.
The fact that other people mistakenly deposited funds into your accounts doesn't mean the funds are yours or you are entitled to the money or even spend the money.

Retaining and spending such funds is theft and it is against the law. It's theft PERIOD.

Teen Convicted After Spending $30K Mistakenly Deposited into His Account

MADISON COUNTY, Ga. -- A Georgia teen who spent the better part of $30,000, which was mistakenly put into his checking account by a bank teller, will serve the next 10 years on probation and has been ordered by a judge to pay the money back.

People go to jail for retaining and spending money wrongfully placed in their account. Sure the bank made a mistake, but their mistake doesn't give you the right to keep and spend their money, at least not where you copied your democracy and laws from..

The witness shocked the audience when he told the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, that the Personal Assistant to Saraki made N600, 000 to N900, 000 deposits into his personal account 50 times in one day.
^^^^ Was that done through bureaucratic error too?

ibietela2:
You that you are intelligent, what was the MAIN purpose of the summit? Was it about electricity generation with nuclear power?
Yes and many other issues in the sidelines with other leaders, negotiations and agreements with other leaders and of course primarily Nuclear security.

1. ISIS is said to be looking into dirty bombs and nuclear bombs and we have terrorists and a brand of ISIS in Nigeria so any issue relating to ISIS, terrorists and Nuclear bombs concerns us immensely.

2. Nuclear security means restricting Nuclear energy and it is in our best interest to table our desire for peaceful nuclear energy for power generation and advancement. We have to make sure we are not blocked out.

3.The summit is where policy makers and nuclear power plant lobbies and vendors gather to protect their interests and this is an opportunity for us to negotiate, look for potential builders, experts and consultants to help our nuclear energy needs.

4. Organizers of these global summits typically invite not only world leaders to attend such global gatherings, they invite leaders in every continent hence Nigeria as the main power broker in Africa always 1st on the list to attend and if you must know and for what it's worth, our president is always sitting next to the leader of the free world aka the US president. It's no accident my friend..

5. We have bilateral issues and agreements to negotiate with many countries and leaders so instead of traveling separately to these countries, leaders take advantage of these summits to get together on the sidelines to discuss their bilateral issues.

PMB's bilateral meeting and agreement with Denmark was not part of the summit, but both countries scheduled the meeting to happen in the US on the sidelines of the Nuclear summits.

6. PMB's meeting with the US sec Of State was not part of the summit, but both men met to discuss tons of other issues like locating and returning our billions of stolen dollars.

7. PMB also secured over $600 million investments from the US on the summit sidelines..

We've benefited so much from this single trip for sure..

I know that many Nigerian are very ignorant when it comes to world and diplomatic affairs and even our leaders gather and take advantage of summits to secure deals, investments, protect their interests and so on and the fact that we have reckless and unintelligent clowns like FFK and Fayose whose interests are primarily politics and not your interest spew garbage everyday doesn't help the average ignorant, shallow and unexposed Nigerians like many in this thread...

Agriculture › Lagos Acquires 2,134 Hectares Of Land In Other States To Boost Agriculture.. by aresa(op): 10:55pm On Apr 02, 2016
The Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Toyin Suarau, on Saturday said the state had acquired 2,134 hectares of land from neighbouring states to promote agriculture.

Saurau said this at an Agriculture Seminar organised in Lagos by the Buhari Youth Organisation, with theme: “Repositioning Agriculture for Youths Empowerment, Rural and Economic Development.”

The commissioner, who was represented by Oladeji Alao, the General Manager of Lagos State Coconut Development Authority, said the state government had invested much in agriculture to empower youths.
He said: “Before 1960, Nigeria was an agrarian society. We are suffering because of our over reliance on oil. Many countries used the resources from agriculture to build structures.

“The average age of a Nigerian farmer today is about 55, which means youth have a role to play in agriculture to bring the nation back to the path of fortune.

“Lagos State has 84 hectares of land in Osogbo, out of which 20 hectares is used for palm produce, while others are used for rice farm, cassava and mills.

“We have also acquired 1,000 hectares of land in the same Osun, 500 hectares in Ogun and Oyo each and 50 hectares in Abuja to encourage farming.”

According to Saurau, the state has developed estate farming and cluster farming because of the challenge of space in the state.
He said the state had fishery estates, poultry estates, vegetable estates and Green House Technology to guard wastages.
He added: “As part of the state government’s effort to attract youths into agriculture, we have agric youth empowerment scheme and provision for irrigation facility.
“Our loan for agric must be single digit if we want to make agric attractive to youths. The interest rate must not be high, hence it will not be profitable.”
The Guest Speaker, Isaac Oluyi, while delivering a lecture entitled: “Reclaiming the Lost Paradise Through Agricultural Entrepreneurship,” called for the use of technology in agriculture business.
Oluyi said: “For agriculture to be attractive, it must be driven by technology.
“We can make use of technology to change our fortune through agriculture.
“Agriculture has gone beyond hoes and cutlasses.
“Resourceful youths should understand that agric is a good business and youth must have entrepreneurial mindset.
“We need people with creative minds.
“Agriculture is not about food production, but about environment, innovation and technology, about collecting storage processing, packaging, marketing, financing, training, mentoring and many other things.
“Hunger is a problem that many youths can proffer solution to and make fortune.”
Oluyi urged youths to stop complaining but rather engage in crop cultivation, animal rearing, processing, distribution, marketing and many others.
In his words, Khalil Aminu, the National President of BYO, said the organisation was aimed at initiating ideas and programmes in line with the “Change Agenda” of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Aminu said: “No economic growth can be attained with underpowered youths.
“The Lagos BYO initiative has embarked on novel and timely venture, which aligns with the policy trust of the Federal Government.”
The BYO boss, who called on Nigerians to support the government’s policies, mandated other states to emulate the stride of the Lagos State chapter.
Lucy Ajayi, the National Vice President of the organisation, said countries were making big money from agriculture.
Ajayi said if only Nigeria could go into agriculture, the problem of unemployment would be a thing of the past.
She said: “We can feed ourselves as a nation and export products if 100 million of us can go into agriculture.”
According to her, the organisation has acquired 100 hectares and 125 hectares of land in Lagos and Ogun States respectively for BYO’s Agricultural Cooperative Society Scheme.
Earlier, Prince Wale Oyekoya, the Chairman, Agriculture, Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, urged all states to take advantage of agriculture to improve on their Internally Generated Revenue.
