China, Japan and the rest are complaining, but not on NAIRALAND(which happens to be your only source of information) so that ARGENT can see it. APPOLOGY IN ADVANCE. One love Argent.
What makes you think nairaland is my only source of information, and why would I make niaraland where everybody come to spew their opinion my only source of information. I take that as an insult. Please learn to answer people's questions without insulting their intelligence.

CultureRe: Not Being To Lagos, a 'bush person'? by argent(f): 9:44am On Jan 28, 2009
I remember growing up in Abeokuta, was always dreaming of the day I will finally come to lagos. I felt Lagos was to the place to be and I had a lot of respect for my classmates in secondary school then ( they were actually behaving like Lagos was ''heaven''). When they now start talking about bar beach I would dream of the day I will enter Lagos. The first day I came to Lagos, disappointment is an understatement, I was unfortunate to go to oshodi that day; I saw like a sea of people and I was scared, I held on to the person I was following like a leech, to enter bus nko wahala (those buses dnt stop for you, you have to run and enter and you have to jump off the bus to alight too) lagos is a crazy place abeg.

Now that I work and live in Lagos, I will take Abeokuta over Lagos anyday anytime. Though I plan to move to abuja very soon. Please Lagos is not a place to live if u really want to live long.

True as wht u said may sound, it is a text book solution not an on-the-ground working solution in Naija.
no amount of inflight can defeat the outbound flight of the dollars. what are we to export apart from oil?, is it guguru and epa?
Forget Obasanjo cassava theory oh!, even Obasanjo have ignored the project he intiated. If the govt was serious on export, they should have formed a body that would purchase exportable goods from local farmers for onward exportation. Not telling baba-kabiru who didnt read and write or bearly has N9,500 naira in his account to go and export cassave cos he is a farmer, and how do u expect him to source for buy online when if he see the computer the only thing that comes to his mind is
"ah oyibo sha, aje ni won". In Saudi, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman the govt buy farm produce from farmers and re-distribute it for sale. That way a farmer knows that after his hard work on the farm, there will be no sweating to sell.
True, the best thing for government to do is t0 form a body that will not only buy exportable produce from framers but will also enable mechanized farming possible. If you have ever been to the middle belt part in Nigeria you will see large expanse of land lying fallow. Its just unfortunate that our leaders are only interested in enriching their pockets and do not care about the good of the people. Those large expanse of land is enough for Nigeria not to be dependent on crude ( considering the fact that the price of crude oil keeps dropping in the international market). Its really very sad, that opportunities abound and we are not making use of it. Why is China, Japan and the rest not complaining about the downturn of the world economy?

Breaking the cross refers to refuting the invented story of Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection. Killing the pig means prohibiting its meat again, as in Islam and in the original Law of Moses. Jizyah is a tax paid by non-Muslims instead of the zakah (obligatory charity) paid by Muslims, in return for the equal rights, protection, and services they enjoy in a Muslim state. This ruling will be abolished, as all Christians will follow Jesus in his second coming and become Muslims.
This will happen only in your islam infested and twisted mind shocked shocked shocked, you are suffering from a serious case of disillussionment

If they want cheap they should try going back to Onitsha or wherever. Lagos is not a cheap place, neither is London or New York,  Poor people who chose to remain in Lagos can only hope to remain poor and even get poorer. My two kobo.

PS : I hope Fashola's crew visits Yaba/Tejuosho  again soon and  go on to Oyingbo  and Idumota cheesy
Am not against what lagos state government is doing, I love what he's doing and I am so eager to see a new lagos. Even London and New York have some of the poorest people living there. Whether we like it or not, the poor will always be among us, because not everybody knows what you know or is as privilege as you. So we should learn to accept and find a way of taking care of them and that includes Fashola providing alternative for them.
too bad the law says u provide alternatives for those whose properties are legal, not those who construct shops on the railways, mainroad or sumtimes over a canal
Well am sure if they could afford getting a place legally, they woludnt have constructed their shops on railways and mainroads. The government should know that there are poor masses who depend on petty trading to survive, building a new lagos doent mean you have to leave them poorer by taking away their means of livelihood.
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Oshodi Market Demolition by argent(f): 9:20am On Jan 07, 2009
In as much as people will have to pay the price, Fashola should know that this new lagos thing is for the lagosians he is taking their means of livelihood from. He should have provided an alternatives for these people before demolishing everywhere. I wonder of what use a new lagos full of miscreants will be?
