I know calculating your ovulation can be tricky but there is no magic that a hospital can use for you unless you have money to waste.
I live in the USA and the same way there predict your ovulation is the same way it is done in Nigeria, japan or anywhere else.
Number one they count your menstrual cycle .
Number Two they give you ovulation sticks to pee on and the darker it gets it means your ovulation is getting closer it can not still determine the exact day it is still hit or miss so you have to keep trying from the day the ovulation sticks starts picking up traces of HCG.

Number 3 i know of is if a woman is going through fertility treatments and she is given a medication called clomid and they monitor you and after 11 to 13 days of taking it you are given an injection that makes you ovulate within 48 hours for sure but sill can not determine the time within the 48 hours sorry i could not be of much help hope it helps a little bit.

Life is weird people try for years to have children others try to kill children.(not passing judgement on you  cos i don't know where you are coming from) it is just an  irony of life.

@ stages My God already 29 weeks ? where did all the time fly too? Please try not to sleep on your back i know it is uncomfortable but try and prop your self up with pillows so you can be comfortable.

I had 2 miscarriages and did not even get up to 4 months and i still sit down some days and cry . just from the day you know you are pregnant you become protective you fall in love with what you have not seen that is when you instantly become a mother. First time i am meeting someone with the Killer cells i have read about it alot and it was only in the uk i saw people who tested for it. I told my doctor about it and he said i read too much on the internet, and i don't know if i can get tested on my own doing that means out of pocket because without doctors orders my insurance will not pay for it
. I have had IUI'S and I pray to God it ends there when i was frustrated once i told my doctor i was ready for IVF and he said no that i was still young and he was confident I will have a baby with IUI any way i am waiting on God's PROMISE because as a Doctor he can say all he can say, we can spend all the money we want until God has it stamped signed sealed and delivered I AM JUST A SITTING DUCK.

I thought that the Uk Health system payed for most of the treatments? So it is all out of pocket?Here my doctor has something called shared risk you pay about 20grand or more if it is ICSI and they give you 6 tries if nothing happens they refund your money. Lots of people take advantage of this because dishing out 10 grand per cycle is suicidal!!!!.

How many times can you tell someone who does not get what you are going through you just saw your period?They will say according to my friend you no wan baby na, if you want you go just rest body dey do am everyday i just  felt disgusted and hung up the phone no need to explain.

This ovulation thing sometimes just goes crazy. It sometimes depends if she is stressed then her period can change or for no reason it just happens i think i am not sure.Have you used OPK instead of just assuming? That is a ovulation predictor kit about 3 days before she thinks she will ovulate she can start using this kit just like a pregnancy one until both lines show up then you know she is very close to ovulation then you start trying.It took out guess work for me. If she starts paying attention alot to her body she can tell when she is about to ovulate i can tell because 2 days before i start feeling pains and on the very day it is pain for like 5 minutes then it is over.

Ok these are some of the clinics i have found, i am also trying to find anyone who has visited them before and can give an insight.

@ abiop, Don't say another wasted month  trust me i know how you are feeling. i have been through this since 2005 . I can tell you i know what frustration is i can tell you how much i hate that time of the month when it comes anger, discouragement, frustration what have i done wrong again etc but you know what i am still here ,I am still standing why? Because i have hope that is the only thing that can get you through this hope , faith and endurance.
Look at it this way which is worst a woman who has never conceived a child Or a woman who conceives and the child dies? NO ONE !!! we are all in this together your joy  of having a child will be my joy as well just be strong it is well.
where do you live Lagos? I think i have posted some clinics on here before i know Government hospitals are good but there is a little frustration in that sector . Try and look for a Doctor who  has all your files in one place, and has an idea about what tests have been done repeating a test is not fun. Once i did a test that they tested for 18 diffrent things took 9 vials of blood  HSG Tested the tissue of the last baby still nothing everything looks normal.
I live in the USA and I have to be proactive about my own care too  I am the one who reminds my doctor sometimes i did this test on this day and i don't have to do it again etc. He was named one of the best doctors in washington DC 2010 so e no matter they are human they too slip. So you have to be the one  pushing hard , i got frustrated and told him i am done with all of this and i want to try IVF his response was no that he has faith that i will get pregnant and carry to term without IVF so my brother i have done all tests  known to medicine to have a child yet i am still waiting, ,  no longer on man  but on God to finish it.

Hello everyone i have been missing in action. Just trying to relax and regroup my self, i stress alot which is also not good for me . I know this year God will put a new spring in our steps and we must and will use our mouths to give testimonies.

I know you are trying to discourage her from thinking that way but to a woman in this situation her mind will wonder to so many places you can only but imagine. I can not give any advice about IVF clinics in Nigeria as i have not used any i have a friend who is using Bridge clinic presently that is all i know.
But i think before anyone invests half a million in any clinic ,please check there statistics and see people who have actually had babies there or are currently pregnant cos  it is just one try and that is it ,you pay again.
My doctor here has something they call shared risk you pay 20 thousand dollars i know that is like 3million naira and they give you 6 tries for ivf if you don't have a baby (take one home)after the 6th IVf they refund your whole money!Make God no let person do six oh Jesus

I have come to a final conclusion that people can no longer read, or just want to increase how many post they have .Because some of these comments are really mind blowing! I am here oh i cant complain much i thank God for everything both good or bad. Ha so you are a chicken you had to be sedated? That thing hurts alot i almost wanted to bite off the head of the lady who did mine . Sometimes we have to wait on God but we have to work towards it and make efforts ,It says God helps does who help them selves.

Why does she have to flush out her system? Is it after the removal of the foetus? I did the same thing after the removal of my second baby as well , my doctor just wanted to be sure my system was clean.

There is a test called hysterosalpingogram (HSG) it is an X-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. Your sister will beat you if she does this test it hurtssssssssssssss! would advice she goes to a specialist as soon as possible. so as i am not a doctor that is all i can advice for now.Every time you see your baby thank God for what he has done for you, i know at that time it was not what you wanted but his plan was the right one for you.

I just collected my medical records from my fertility doctor and i am going to see another one just for a second opinion, i keep seeing i have high numbers for a particular blood test that is connected to blood cloths that can also lead to miscarriages and my doctor keeps saying it is normal. i just hope i am not driving my self crazy by looking for what does not exist.

@stages sorry i did not reply sooner your period is between 27 days to 32 i would say to be safe  i would say day 9 i know it is a bit early but since everyone body does things diffrent you don't want to miss the window of opportunity.

Sorry i had to laugh a bit when you said you could make your hubby come when you are ovulating  , when you want a baby we women do some crazy things. i remember once the doctor told me i had to bring a sample from my husband to be tested and it had to be there under one hour if not all the sperm might die. The way i was driving you would think i just stole serious cash from Central bank. i was running up the stairs panting and sweating saying i am here i am here

@Mypeace  First i am sending you lots of hugs and as i told veuss we will not flog you anymore. I know it is disappointing but you are in the right frame of mind all we have to do is keep believing and trusting God .(AND GOING TO THE HOSPITAL TO CHECK ONCE IN A WHILE EVEN IF WE DON'T WANT TOO)

I am suppose to make an appointment with a diffrent doctor this week i just collected all my past medical records from my doctor i am looking for a second opinion let them just go over the tests i have done etc. I was a bit sad last week when i saw the result showing that the last baby i lost was a girl,i wish i never knew .
This baby matter sometimes dey taya me when i was younger i use to think that all my husband would do is just look at me and belle go shoot come out ,but i am seeing that it is not that easy blessed are the women who just get pregnant without anyworry for they do not know what God has done for them. i don't wish this constant state of anxiety on my enemy sef.,Anyway ahead ahead.

First i am so sorry about your loss, the amazing part about it is that nobody can really say what causes them they just happen.
i have experienced 2 my self with no explanation, i am happy that this topic can help you in any little way, i found that most time we never talk about it or have anyone who knows exactly what we are going through.
Yes 2 months is still a little early but i totally understand where you are coming from after one misscarriage you almost live in constant fear or panic mode. But don't let that steal your joy and happiness try and just relax a little bit and enjoy your new marriage .

As for ovulation kits normally you ovulate 14 days after your first period but not every woman ovulates on the 14th day. so i usually start testing from day 8 so i am sure i don't miss it.Glad you came here i pray your journey to motherhood will be a short one see you around.
