You are not getting it.

Dollar is coming in, the government collects it from you and give you Naira. Govt now decides to use the dollar in the best way they deem fit. Shey you understand now.
And when I need dollars what happens ?

Unfortunately no. This is why the policy is not likely to make a difference.
And this is my grouse. It has to work both ways. You cannot block one channel and leave the return path open. It doesn't make any sense.

I'll agree to receive dollars as naira at current value but I'll be passed if I want to send naira as dollars and you tell me no. I'll have to look for a way to ensure both directions are flowing for me.

Good lord,

It has become very apparent that this country cannot progress when the average individual is this ignorant about financial matters and economics

Some believe dollars is sitting down in bank accounts gathering dust

others believe when Dollars is sent from abroad through banks its the physical dollars that is mailed in

others believe when the govt requires conversion of remittances to naira, it means the banks will actually receive dollars they they will in turn dash the govt or random people asking for USD in Nigeria

Good lord
You suppose don know say crash full this country. When dem say illiteracy is high you think say na joke.

I just dey look dem. Someone said tax dollars sitting idly in the bank. I nearly get heart attack.

I think it's a good measure. We don't spend dollar in this country yet we keep hearing of dollar to naira exchange rate every now and then.I am certain not many countries have such obsession for the dollar like we do in Nigeria. Moreover we have more than 30 billion dollars kept in the banks.
You can remit in Naira, it's your currency.
.
Let them remove the discrepancy between the dollar and the naira and nobody would give a shit about the exchange rate.

I'm surprised they have not mentioned paying out only receiving.

Tinubu minions have flooded this thread with their biased and trash analyses again just as they did when naira was devalued by Tinubu and plunged Nigerians into deeper poverty.
Tinubu and his cronies don't have the nation's best interests at heart; their primary focus is to mop up all incoming foreign currency for themselves, which ultimately harms the value of the naira.
Basic economics details how scarcity will increase demand.....
Nowhere in the world does a government forcibly convert citizens' currency, especially when it's been declared.
It took me a while to realise this. I was wondering how come so many craze people just land of First page at the same time.then I realised its a bot thread. Lol. I'm still enjoying the reading so far.

This February just choke anyhow for good content.... 😩😩
No time to watch all this sef.

Mr & Mrs Smith — FEB 2 (Amazon)
Curb Your Enthusiasm — FEB 4 (HBO)
Tokyo Vice — FEB 8 (HBO)
Halo — FEB 8 (Paramount+)
The New Look — FEB 14 (Apple TV+)
Shogun — FEB 27 (FX)
Avatar: The Last Airbender — FEB 22 (Netflix)
On my radar. The smiths are last. If I'll even give them time. But shogun and last air bender are for sure.

I'm so looking forward to shogun. I hope its bloody as F. I've read that book over and over it's a surprise I don't speak some Japanese. I has the first TV show which was a let down, horrible to say the least compared to the books and I've wondered for years why shogun hasn't been made.

It's almost here.

A new strategy sometimes is they'll call saying they have loan offers if you say no next thing you know the money is in your account then they start disturbing you to pay back. Happened to my friend they gave her 24k when she didn't take any loan. They'll wait till eternity for that money
How did they get her account details and phone number ? Is this for real.

Solo leveling.

I rather liked this episode. The calm demeanour of the protagonist. He's absolute confidence in himself.

Of course we are left with a cliff hanger.

Most developed countries will automatically change the currency u remitted into their local currency. U dont store dollar in ur account, but cos we hv corrupt leaders keeping dollars in various banks, they are finding it difficult to initiate this rule hence we will be in this mess for a long time to come . Everyone knows the solution but no one want to carry it out cos of selfish reasons
You will hv no choice than to pass through the normal route of remittances or keep ur money in foreign land till whenever. Ur answer is as good as mine grin
.

The simple.truth is the disparity between official and black market rates is ridiculous. If it were 10 to 20 naira difference nobody would bother to hoard or save it and the value of the naira depreciating so fast has made a lot of people hedge thier savings by converting to dollars.

Well seeing the latest news I'm expecting a sudden drop in the dollar naira ratio how low I don't know but I think it would be surprising particularly if the government has the balls to go all out and plug the loop holes.

The number one culprits are the banks.

Come to even think of it, wasn't it when Sokka and Katara were going off on one of these said "sexist rant" that they accidentally discovered Aang in the glacier? Isn't this bit like the bane of the show? So this important arc they are trying to fiddle with?

Well i should not be to hasty to judge, but i will solely be relying on reviews before i go near this. I have neither the time, money or patience to waste on gutter quality project this year.
Word!!!
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by armadeo(m): 9:45pm On Jan 30, 2024
oyaskii:
The said "sexism" was infact very important or probably the most important element that made Sokka's character arc and development one of the best in the entire thing. From belittling his sister, to meeting the Kyoshi warriors and ultimately finding out his sister who he had little regard for, was infact a master bender thus completely changing his view for the better.

So how are you going to cut or tone down this elite character arc because some eyes and ears will be too brittle to see and hear it??

Anyway, i am already half arsed about this live action tbh, so I can't be bothered.
Honestly I was looking for towards seeing this with gusto and now the woke group have entered the equation. Can't they just hang themselves and leave the rest of us alone. So eager to be offended. This would ruin Hollywood soon enough ad more people move towards Asian markets. The Koreans aren't playing for now.
