Op your topic is funny
what is biafra crisis?

Uwazuruike is only fighting with the gods. Ipob and new massob have rendered him absolutely inconsequential to the agitation

safarigirl:
Today, on my way to school, I happened to go in two different public transports and a recurring topic in both was that PD Biafra.

Both cars were occupied by mostly Northerners, while the first had Northern Muslims who harped on the unity of Nigeria and opposed any form of division, the second had an outspoken Igala man from Kogi state.

The Igala driver briefly spoke of the recently concluded elections in his state where Yahaya Bello emerged Governor, he then stated that Ebira people must be ecstatic and said that they would give Bello a tenure of 4 years after which he would be removed, then added that [b]this is assuming Biafra does not ce before then, because if it does, the people of Igala are going with them[\b]. When a commuter asked him on what basis the Igala people would join Biafra, he simply replied that there is already a drawn out map.

Obviously, this driver is one of the many Igala people who are disgruntled by the manner with which power was seized from them, according o him 'pesin wey no do rally, na who win election'....

Here on NL, many people say that Biafra is just an Igbo struggle, as much as that may be true, the fact is that Biafra is a struggle that has many silent supporters; whether it be the radicalst Ibibio student, the frustrated unemployed Ijaw graduate or the hustling Igala cab driver.

These are people who feel shortchanged by the Nigerian government, people who are tired of being regarded as inconsequential minorities, people who have unjustly lost opportunities due to a flawed quota system. Many of these people are just waiting for something to happen, for someone to so something.

And who better to lead than one of the elite majority?
what is ur point?

Both igala and idoma are in ipob's map of biafra. Referendum will solve that.

What do you expect with population of over 20million people where every tribe find as a second home?
A country/state especially in nigeria with such amount of population is most to be the haven of crime. It's a common sense, and beside these crime are most committed by ibos in SW/lagos.
so the Igbos are alayes, area boys, agberos and omoniles and opc?

Twistaray:
Village you said? Yet your people troop like an ocean on a daily into the so called village abi?
What is your yard stick for this measurement/stats?
Village yet ogun state is the most industrialised state in the whole of nigeria?
we only go to lagos and you know it

the only place industralized in ogun is the shagamu axis which a spillover of lagos and is still considered lagos industrial zone[/quote]https://www.nairaland.com/2322312/ogun-state-nigerias-emerging-industrial

Twistaray:
Well. Let me remind that before you were born lagos has and will always surpass the rest. Lagos is a border to to two on more country. It's quite the other way round. Iboes needs SW especially lagos than lagos need them.
i have nothing against. I am aganst injustice in nigeria(though its now late)

Twistaray:
Really? Worst? I belief aba, ebonyi state is a good example of leadership? Yeye dey smell!
yes ebonyi never owed salaries despite its status. Abia had bad leadership who fail to put roads in order in aba but he is now gone. Nevertheless aba is bubbling with bussiness activities or can you tell me one city in the whole of south west aside lagos that is more industralized than aba?

Twistaray:
Oh oh. How I hate lies.

What truth? This is the problem with you folks.
If you take your statistics on what I have just written , you'll find out that your speculative comment about the Niger Delta is what is also obtainable in other ethnic groups of this country and by the sheer number of your population your poverty rate is higher than that of all the minority ethnic groups of the Niger Delta.
Go to Aba road in Port Harcourt now , 98% of school dropouts that are hawking on the streets are of Igbo extracts and the same thing applies When it comes to the number of people with white collar jobs too and this isn't about being better off or worse off but a population induced phenomenon.

It would be insanity to make comparisons where the same thing you're comparing with do not have an equal population status.
How many Rivers people are packing their load to live in Owerri, Aba, Onitsha et al compared to the movement of your people into cities like warri, PHC ,Calabar et al?
People migrate because hardship - People do not just migrate for fun.

Fair write up, but a little off, incomplete picture and oversimplification.

Sure, investors look at the Nigerian capital factor, but the number one factor investors think and worry about before siting their investments is safety and security of their investments. The SW remains the safest and the most peaceful, progressive and conducive place to invest in Nigeria. Other factors are availability of skilled and educated manpower and also disposable income.

Lastly, leadership and their ability to seek and drum up investments via favorable terms, trade and investment summits.

Where was this analysis when Lagos hosts trade summits every year including Ehingbeti Economic summit.

Same with Ogun trade summit, Oyo state trade summit and SWITS/SouthWest Investment Trade Summit..

Investments doesn't drop from the tree, you have to work for it..

Investors wont jump into the North, SE/SS to invest anything because of insecurity and instability.

Many questioned Dangote for not investing in the SE, but the man is obviously not regretting his actions if intentional or not after witnessing the destruction of life and property including his own trucks in the SE last week.
its a lie. Lagos has the highest crime rate in nigeria and enugu has the lowest. Do you recall when apc protesters burnt luxury buses belonging to an igbo transporter earlier this year?

If peace is the factor why are other places in SW that are more peaceful than lagos still villages?

The truth is lagos enjoys special attention from fg govt starting from colonial times till now. Should the seaport in portharcourt or onitsha stop being a subject of politics, lagos will suffer. Which is why you guys hold on to one nigeria.

Coming to leadership sw has the worst in the country save fayose. Lagos has the largest dept profile despite huge revenue, what of osun? The leadership in the east is the most visionary but seems emasculated by fg's policies and u know that.

I also heard you mentioning disposable income in Sw. That is a height of delusion! Sw is the most impoverished region aside north. Why do you thing ibadan oshgbo abeokuta are slums while enugu onitsha aba owerri ph awka and asaba are bubbling?

as for dangote, we dont beg for his investment he knows that too. He also knows he would be outcompeted hence he conspired with obj to shut down ibeto plant in ph.

Like i said politics is the thing not your so called peace. Igboland is peaceful but nigeria is an igbophobic country

Very sorry for your lost but unfortunately more will follow. If you love your family take them out of the East, Right now the so called "Zoo" would be safer for Igbos than their home. Just like how Boko haram destroy the North East, IPOB will destroy the South East. I heard stories how people spend stressful long hours on roads in Onitsha because of protesters. Not everyone wants to be part of the Biafra stuff but unfortunately IPOB would drag the entire igbos into it just like Ojukwu once drag them into a senseless civil war. They even killed an Hausa corper and burn down mosques, Shops and Dagote trailers in Onitsha yet they called Hausas animal. While their business are left peacefully in the North.
