I thought it should disturb you that Igbo women are still strongly attracted to their own culture and identity after spending years and decades in Yoruba homes, to the extent of forming associations. The implications are enormous and far reaching.
Whether you have become foolish enough to miss such fundamental realization or you simply know but you're expressing your hurt through self consoling comic grandstanding, you should be reminded the painful reality that such marriages will make Yorubaland a cultural outpost of Igboland sooner or later. offsprings of such marriages, expecially the males will seek out Igbo girls for marriage thereby creating a near complete Igbo elite bloodline in Yorubaland. Fulani's used it to consolidate their domination of the Hausas, It made Jews gain global influence, now you are surrendering to the people you love to hate willingly and even bragging over it.
Well, it's good it's all over the net in case of revision of history in future by claiming Igbos forced women on you or the women raped you, because una shameless has no threshold. |

The courts rule over even your many traditional communities. Once a union is recognized by the courts, your traditional opinions mean absolutely nothing. continue wallowing in delusion. Even court marriages have counselling sessions where they strongly advise intending couple to pay bride price. |

2. Will not be recognized by what society? The same society that the courts ruie over or a different society entirely?

airsaylongcome: Mention one place on the continent where if both parties want to get legally married that a bride price is required. LEGALLY married. None. In Nigeria, I don't need to pay a dowry to be legally married. Marriage by nature is cultural. However, in order to 'formalize' it, most people file papers at the registry after the traditional and church marriage. Two people without family consent and blessing approaching a court to wed them will be recognized by the govt but will not be recognized by the society as a couple and this is what matters as far as marriage is concerned. |
Family › Re: Court Marriage Without Paying Bride Price by Armaggedon: 4:18pm On Nov 20, 2023 |
I think you can but it has serious consequences. So serious that you are better unmarried. Such marriages suffer from crisis of acceptance in the society, at least in Igboland.
It's like having currency notes which is still legal tender but for some reasons, nobody wants to collect it from you. You'll finally realize they are useless. |

SIRTee15: People should learn to keep shut if they don't know enough about a topic instead of running their diarrhea mouth online. Lagos state today comprise of 5 divisions. 4 of those divisions belonged to the western region and was under the control of Awolowo western region govt. They are Epe, ikorodu, badagry and Ikeja. Even the coveted Lekki was under western region. Only Lagos division was the former Lagos- capital of Nigeria. To put into proper perspective, 95 % of Lagos state landmass was under western region. So how dare u say Yorubas don't have a stake in present Lagos state. U must be dumb as your GRV who thinks Lagos starts and end on Lagos Island and VI. He go shock am.
See the map of Nigeria in 1900 and check what was called Lagos colony yea, your usual style. When you run out of facts and brain power, you resort to curses and abuses. |

plaindealer: Native of Lagos can't even speak Yoruba, he lied about a Yoruba proverb and when asked to recite it, he couldn't because he lied.
They even asked him to recite Lagos Oriki, he couldn't even though it's a very common phrase.
What a tribal nuisance. he doesn't speak Yoruba is not the business of a non native lagosians. That's the point. Foisting yourself on others will earn you serious resentment from them. Allow them to take charge of their state. The Oba of Lagos once said Lagos is not Yorubaland and that Yoruba people should "leave us alone". Will you then disregard him make yourself the Oba in another man's land? |
Politics › Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-vivour::Lagos Culture Is Different From Yoruba Culture. Video by Armaggedon: 9:38am On Nov 17, 2023 |
He is a native of Lagos, those attacking him are not. That's what is important.
Again, what he said about Lagos having always stood seperate from Yorubaland is true. The colony of Lagos was different from the rest. When the west became a region, Lagos was the FCT outside the control of all the regions (that's how the idea of no man's land started)
Finally, with the collapse of the regions, Lagos became a separate state. It is important to note that lagosians objected being part of southwest region during the national conference in 2014. |

Raskimonojendor: Only in the imagination of retards 😂 When your men are crying all over social media over Ibo girls and their promiscuous ways. the easiest way to take control of Yorubaland is gradual erosion of the DNA of all the people that matter in Yorubaland. Overwhelming majority of Yoruba elites are either married to, on the verge of marriage to or desire to marry Igbo ladies. You can hardly point any half Yoruba with Igbo Mother that is not loyal to his/her Igbo roots. So you can run along with your empty, tearful boasting. |

Ebubu: Yet I went to uniuyo and all the girls I discussed about marriage were reluctant about marrying Igbo.
They said we are too loud and use our wives married from outside Igbo land for ritual, then marry our own tribes woman with money and enjoy.
They are also very reluctant to move into Igbo land to dwell and base.
The few Akwa Ibom women who married Igbo men, married Igbo men who dwell and base in Akwa Ibom full time, if you dare mention that you’ll be taking her back to the East, that marriage will not hold. Yoruba man. The lady you jumped into her mention to write rubbish totally ignored you. Seems everyone now know you guys. |

Swiftgrp: @Armaggedon,
Yes thanks for the info about the Uni and Herbert's Isiokpo hometown... His professional working life is majorly in Lagos State so that's why I said Herbert Wigwe is a "Lagos big dude" (or top gun). He used to work for the then new generation bank called GTB which was co-founded back in the 1990s by Fola Adeola and Tayo Aderinokun.
Herbert then left GTB to co-found another new generation bank called Access Bank with Imokhuede thereby sealing their names in the sands of time among the modern banking pioneers. They brought that iconic GTB work ethics into Access Bank operations. These guys have a lot of international and local investments made from their banking assets running into millions of USD.
All the best. it's ok. However, if ever a reason should arise, billionaires are known by their countries of origin not cities. Access holdings is gaining global footprint, buying up banks all over the continent. It has branches all over the country with patronage from government and businesses owned by people from all over the country. Therefore, defining him based on the city privileged to host his daily business engagement is misleading and fuels the misconception that he owes such place special kind of favour more than everywhere in the country, including his place of origin. |
