Good Afternoon, For those people in Germany, Please when the student hostels finally gives one a room, are we expected to pay from here or when we finally enter Germany? Urgent please.

After speaking with Biglord, He advised that i mail the embassy again so I wrote them a detailed letter telling them all the steps i have taken to get an appointment. I even attached copies of the document i earlier sent and when they finally replied, They gave me same date as the online booking that i did.

Lolz. I asked same question o. Even asked him if it wasnt the new db form that the guy came with but he said he was sure of what he was telling me. Confused.

Lol. I pretended i didnt hear him too but then i am worried. I applied since Monday of last week and nothing has been done till date. And they think its fair.

let me just pretend i didn't hear that at all. Because after my blocked account appointment last week tuesday, i immediately booked for my visa appointment using the first method and till now i haven't gotten any feed back. But when i used the new method on satuday of last week, i got an instant reply. please someone should help us confirm the authenticity of this info.

Someone that went to the embassy today said a guy was sent back because he came with the new online booking system. Our friend at the gate said the only valid form of appointment is the one where you send a mail with your documents.

They are yet to respond. but there has been this new link flying around where you now book for ainterview appointmnet same way you booked for blocked account opening.

No place on earth is rosie, but with the way things are going in our belove nija, I won't blame a banker who resigns and chooses to pursue a degree and career abroad. But I won't advise anyone to sell landed propert or take loans to come here cos that's gonna make u desperate and put more pressure on u.

Life is more than a pay check! Sometimes we also desire to be in a society and be respected as humans regardless of ur family name and background.

As a student, do not allow ur family back home put pressure of sending money to them on u and also do not paint any picture of having a goldmine in Germany. Cut ur coat according to ur material, do not be in a hurry take out time to search for cheap accommodation. Do not run down ur block account before implementing plan B. As soon as u settle, look for a mini job of atleast 450 euro basis. life in Germany is all about proper planning. 3 years ago during my BSc program, I had a class mate who was working and and he spent all his savings on flight ticket just to visit Nija. I told him that he was out of his mind. And here are my reasons. U are running to Nija to spend ur summer holidays when other students are staying back to pick up full time jobs to enable them save and work less during school session. He succeeded in visiting Nija, came back broke and was working hard during school session and in the cold winter to meet up. That's ridiculous! As a student, u should plan. There is time for everything, I rather stay back during summer, work full time job save some money that I can fall back on during school sessions. If u work and save during summer, u can conveniently work a mini job during school session and ur studies won't lack.

And my last advice...there are 2 kinds of foreigners in Germany. Those that wanna pursue a career here after studies, and those that wanna return back to Nija to pursue a career after studies. Clearly define the part u belong and chase ur dream.

That one concern una. Me, Armaniii, if Germany like make e turn to iraq or turkey, Nothing by the Grace of God will stop me from entering there come september. I am yet to see any Nigerian that came back after a year or 2 he/she left for Germany. I never even see anybody wey come back after school say him dey come find work for here. If germany was that bad, All those ppl going after a second MSc wouldn't do such. Them for don come back since. As for me, i just dey picture myself as me n ma friends dey step into Hamburg with our german friends shouting willkomen Una doo o

had my interview today, the same regular questions, b4 d interview i was told to write a letter of motivation, and test, left around 1:30, there was anoda guy waiting after me to be interviewed, i have not been sent a mail to fund even though, from my own assesment i did not perform badly.

This God is too much o ( In frank edward's voice)...... Applied for 3 different courses in Rhine waal and all three dropped today o. Hamburg dropped last week and the this one droped today. These are the only schools i applied to n the 2 don show. Ma homies @Chinok97 and @Biglord, i sight una big time.

I went to open blocked account today at the German embassy and everything went successful (na to dey find 2. 5m to put inside the account remain now) Na better thunder go fire CBN for me.

Note: hold your 5700 while going to open the blocked account ooo. it's no More 4500.
Do not come late at all. (a guy was sent back to go and reschedule his appointment for coming late)...

You can sort out your insurance online. However, its not a bad idea if you arrive here before sorting it out, depending on your enrolment date.

Good Morning fam. I recently gave update on the status of my admission. I still need info on how to get insurance from here preferably Bermar GEK as it is in Hamburg. I learnt one can get the certificate of enrollment without paying until the person gets to Germany. Who can help me out with the link? Also, i'm looking for accommodation as a backup to my application to studentwerk (not sure i got that right). Thank you all.

I believe that each university have the insurance company they normally work with. When you resume for enrollment they will give you their fliers and direct you on how to locate them so you can register with them. Like for my school when I resumed and i was doing my enrolment they specifically instructed me to go to TK office to register and come back with the certificate so I can complete my enrollment. I was given fliers for TK too.. It was like they were throwing it at me. And funny enough TK has an office within the university.
I later learnt that the school already work with an insurance company of their choice so that in case of any issues like not wanting to pick up all bills etc they can easily step in on your behalf.
I think Hamburg uses Bermer Gk. Am not sure though. But let your school recommend one for you. And again, even if you choose to still go with private insurance I strongly advice that you allow your school to recommend the insurance company you would go with. Insurance companies especially private can be really funny sometimes. So many clauses to things they won't cover. If such case should arise your school can step in and hire a lawyer to sort things out with them. I know of instances where the insurance company refused to pick some bills and the school paid the hospital bill on behalf of the student. But for this to happen they must have exhausted correspondence with the insurance company and if you appeal that you don't have money, then they check your bank account and help with part or almost all the money. Medical bills can easily run into thousands of euros.Though its a long process and your bank statement must show that you truly can't afford it. So you see its always safer to go with what your school recommends.
German University International student offices ROCK. They are there to help you through your study. I give them 5 stars!

then, go wth the required docs needed and stated in ur appointment mail i.e print out of appointment mail, Admission letter and 2 copies, 2 filled Deutschebank account form via pc, passport and 2 copies of its data page, be there at the exact time or earlier,and your N4500. after opening, you are given a receipt, you can book for visa interview with that and your admission letter or you can decide to fund before the booking for interview.

if you are using letter of sponsorship, i dont know how that goes, let the other brothers help with that, but your supposed sponsor has to go to his alien office fr some documentation.
