This is the most intelligent post I have read so far on this thread.

If i were a female, i'd be very confident that no matter what i'd definitely find the person i am destined to be with. I like to mix optimism with a good

dose of reality - as a female i'd probably say "doesnt matter how old but what matters most is who i end up with and i'm going to take my time to make sure

waiting for him was worth it in the end
".

David West is probably upset at OBJ because he did not give him any appointment throughout his presidency.

As for the fine extending to the passengers, I also agree 100%. Why?

Most of the commercial drivers are encouraged by passengers in a "hurry" to drive on the wrong side. Even passengers in a private vehicle will not question the driver of the vehicle when he does such.
What about the passengers that do not encourage drivers to drive recklessly/on the wrong side of the road ? There are women that
plead with their husbands while driving to take it easy and not drive on the wrong side of the road.

Do you think it's fair for these people to pay the fines too ? I think not !
PoliticsRe: Gani Is Back! Sues Yaradua Over Waziri. by Arnold1(m): 6:33am On Jun 12, 2008
I am not sure Gani will get a favorable ruling from the courts because the EFCC act states that the President
has the power to hire or fire the EFCC Chairman.

Even though Yar'adull stated initially that Ribadu was being sent to school temporarily, the fact that the President
nominated Waziri as his replacement can be interpreted by the courts as Ribadu being relieved from his job.

Even though Ribadu was not fired overtly, the bottom line is that he has been fired and the President has the power
to do so.

by the way, I am not in support or against waziri's appointment

This woman should be happy she is not behind bars given the atrocities committed by her husband and son, mu'hammed.

I don't even know why the press is giving her any media coverage. Barawo !

PoliticsRe: Was Abdusallam Abubakar Innocent? by Arnold1(m): 6:16am On Jun 12, 2008
I think there is enough info out there to prove Abdulsalam was corrupt. Anyone at this point who believes otherwise
is either naive or just has a hard time grasping with the truth.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Harcourt To Own Port Harcourt? by Arnold1(m): 6:11am On Jun 12, 2008
I think the people of Port Harcourt are content with the name of the city. The South Africans opted to changing the
name of their capital (Pretoria) but I don't see the need for any change of name for PH

This is a very stupid law.

How the hell can you fine the passenger of a vehicle?
Yes, I believe it is wrong for the law to mandate a passenger to pay any fines. The vehicle driver should be held
responsible, fair and square.
PoliticsRe: 10 Years After: How Do You Remember Abacha? by Arnold1(m): 6:05am On Jun 12, 2008
Abacha was a brutal dictator, there was no freedom of the press and people lived in fear. IBB and Abdulsalami
can say all they want regarding his graft, but the records are there for all to see. The Swiss have
repatriated hundreds of millions of dollars of Abacha's stolen loot.

Many people lived in exile while he was in power. Besides his intervention in Sierra Leone and Liberia, I really
don't have anything good to say about him.

Nigerians need to change their mentality drastically. Imagine judging an administration based on the irresponsibilities of its predecessor. Don’t you’all think it’s a little too early to castigate? All we need is a proper debt management system, who we obtain the debt from is absolutely unnecessary
That's a good point you made there (in bold).

obiem:
Finally, it has come to bear! first it was the re- denomination of the naira episode that shook the Federal Executive Council which led to the abortion of the proposed policy by the CBN governor, Chukwuma Soludo.

Now it is the AFC saga which has further brought Soludo into srutiny. FG is questoning the investment of some billion dollars( can't remember the figure) into the African Finance Corporation.

I would think that Soludo is culpable for these allegations,

but at the same time , i think the former university lecturer is a victim of this administration's slugery. Soludo is a genius, a rare breed, a reformer and a master strategist at the best. To think that he could take laws into his hands and approve billions without executive recommendation is unthinkable! I think that the Northern card is being played to remove Soludo from an office that has overtime been held by the north. Well, hearings are on and findings will emerge, but if you ask me , i think it's been already determined that the prof will leave his office sooner or later and either of these two men will emerge as the new CBN governor: Sanusi Daggash or Taminu Yakubu.
Soludo is culpable - is the operative phrase in your post.

Once this is the case, he can be let go !

How can Soludo use $480 million dollars of CBN money to invest in AFC, then turn around to be
on the board of this AFC while still serving as CBN governor ?

How can Soludo spend a whopping $17 million dollars as pre-operational expenses for the take off of AFC ?

The $ 15 million dollar fine paid by UBA in New York was as a result of millions of AFC dollars wired by Soludo
to the UBA New York branch.

I agree with Skyblue, the public must be sensitized about the new laws. As long as people are aware of the laws and its
consequences (if flouted), then all is well. God Bless Governor Fashola.

The real problem now is its enforcement because the officials/police would use this opportunity to collect more bribes or harass the
public. So, the enforcement component of the new law would largely determine its desired success.
