People from Benue and Kogi consider themselves as middle belt people, not core Northerners. When Gideon Okar, a
middle belt army major, planned his coup against IBB, why then did he announce the temporary cessation of states north of Benue and Kogi ? Why didn't he partition Benue and Kogi among the Northern states ?

Why isn't Sharia practiced in Kwara, Benue and Kogi as done in the Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto et al ?

Why do the people from the middle belt have their own middle belt forum just as the yorubas have
Afenifere, the Igbos have ohaneze, the south south have ijaw people's congress (ijc) ?

Naveyah is a young lady still trying to find herself. Once I read her posts and saw her reference
high school kids in the UK that refer to new african kids as "freshies", I knew she was still pretty young.

She is posting this here to see if there are other young ladies like herself in the same boat,
you know, that can relate with her. Nothing wrong with that.

As she gets older, she'll be more aware of her likes and dislikes when it comes to dating men and
if a Nigerian or other African fits within her sphere.

@Arnold1, i don't see having children as a cause of poverty in the north. people that have 1 child are just as poor as the one with 50 in the north. In saudi, they have many kids and they're doing fine. Poverty in Nigeria is caused by corruption.

Bottom line!!! Not by having kids. In northern culture, a man with as much as 50 kids cannot have them at the same time so the eldest brothers end up becoming the parents of the youngest kids in terms of provision, thats they cycle.

So there are many families with many kids and they're not in poverty and somone with fewer kids is even poorer, so your logic is flawed.

I am sorry to say this, but you sound really daft. How can someone not making enough money afford
to have lots of kids ?

Even the United Nations agrees that there is a link between poverty and having too many children.

Having too many children than one can afford also breeds poverty. Although this takes place
in the south, it is more prominent in the north.

When Nigeria does break up, Yar'Adua would without a doubt have played a role of what chemist
refer to as a catalyst.

Isn't it obvious by now that Yar'Adua is more obsessed with appeasing those that "Obasanjo
has wronged" than actual governance (fixing the country's problems) ?

He is getting back at Obasanjo (and yorubas) for several reasons.

1. The way OBJ interrogated IBB's son through the EFCC. In his opinion, IBB is an untouchable
and an ex-Northern leader. So, OBJ has disrespected the North. This is why Yar'Adua was
quick to prosecute Iyabo Obasanjo. It's just plain 'ol pay back.

2. The probe of Sani Abacha. This is largely why he is going after OBJ with all the power sector
probe, oil sector probe etc. It's just to get back at OBJ for probing and retrieving stolen funds
from the Abacha clan. OBJ brought shame to the north with this action and now it is
payback time.

_{Note: Abdulsalami Abubakar's govt started the probing of Abacha, not OBJ}

3. The way OBJ treated Atiku. You know Atiku is a protege of Yar'Adua's older brother, the late
Shehu Musa Yar'Adua. So, they all pretty much belong to the same family. Yar'Adua is not only
humiliating OBJ, but Yorubas as a whole as pay back for humiliating Atiku and other "prominent"
Northerners.

4. Bear in mind that, in 1999, IBB, Abdulsalami and many other Northerners brought OBJ into
power. But when OBJ got there, he played God and didn't bow to anybody.
Well, Yar'Adua is doing the same. Since OBJ was not loyal to those that brought him into power,
he doesn't find the need to be loyal to OBJ.

In short, Yar'Adua wants to go down in history as a Northern hero.

I will ask God to provide Nigeria with a leader that would put the country's interest before
his, his family's, his tribe or religion.

The problem with Nigeria is good leadership. With a good visionary leader, Nigeria can reach the
mountain top. If those asian countries can turn their fortunes around, why not Nigeria ?

He is focusing on domestic challenges unlike Obasanjo

It is saddening to say the least.

There are people in Lagos who have built houses without the permission of the relevant
authorities. It is a well known fact that many landlords don't have Certificates of Occupancy (CofO's)
in Lagos.

That said, before any demolition takes place, original land occupants must be catered to - they must be relocated
and compensated.

CNN does nothing but report on the negatives of Africa. Go figure.
