A man has died after police reportedly found him eating the corpse of a woman he had beheaded.
Officers shot Aphiwe Mapekula, 23, in the arm, leg and stomach after bursting into his home in Mount Frere, South Africa, as he was cannibalising his victim on September 9.

Police say the victim was a woman called Thembisa Masumpa, 35, who was known to Mapekula. He allegedly beheaded her after a family argume
Local media reports that he ignored officers’ warning shots that were fired in order to stop him. When he charged at the police with a knife, they opened fire on him.

Mapekula was rushed to Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, where he attacked a female medic just minutes after he was admitted. He died three days later on September 12.
The cannibal’s mother was the one who first raised the alarm after seeing her son attack Masumpa as she was leaving the house.
‘I never raised a son like this,’ she told The Daily Dispatch. ‘I never imagined this.’

Neighbours claim that Masumpa worked at the family’s home doing odd jobs, and that she was apparently doing some washing in the back garden when Mapekula attacked her.
They also claim that Mapekula had a history of drug addiction, which had forced him to drop out of university.
Police spokeswoman Captain Edith Mjoko said: ‘He killed her with a knife by cutting her throat. When the mother of the suspect saw what was happening she rushed and called the police to the scene.
‘When they arrived the suspect was busy eating the flesh of the deceased.
‘Police ordered him to stop and hand himself over. He went beserk and stormed at them with the knife. Several warning shots were fired to deter him, but in vain.’
Sizwe Kupelo, a local health department spokesman, told Herald Live last week: ‘He was admitted on Saturday after he was transferred from Madzikane KaZulu Hospital in KwaBhaca with gunshot wounds and needed emergency surgery.
‘He unfortunately died in the early hours of this morning at about 4.35am.’

Theron said she noticed bruises on Laila’s neck and shoulders and suspected all was not well.

“After that I sat at work, thinking about my daughter the entire day. That’s when I decided to install cameras so that I could see what was happening when I’m not at home.”

She was shocked after watching the footage, and immediately laid a charge at the police station.

“It was quite a process, as I had to confirm with a mediator what it would mean if I made the recordings without her (the nanny’s) knowledge. The police were initially hesitant about the charges, but wanted to arrest the woman immediately after seeing the footage.”

According to Theron, the woman appeared in court on Monday. The state added the charge of attempted murder.

A police spokesperson confirmed Namibian police are aware of the incident, but would not speak to foreign media. Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, Namibia’s head police spokesperson, wasn’t available for comment.

“I don’t want her near my child ever again, or to pose a threat to other children. What happened was horrible to witness. I realised Laila has nightmares,” said Theron.

www.OLUGISTING.com learnt that Laila is currently attending a kindergarten during the day. She doesn’t believe all nannies are bad and says she may consider employing a nanny in the future.

Theron says support flooded in after she posted the video footage to social media.

“It was comforting to see how many people supported us. Thanks to everyone, family, friends, and strangers, it means a great deal.”

Four underage girls, whose ages range between 10 and 13, were among the 13 suspected cultists arrested by the police in Ogun State early this week. According to reports, other male members of the suspected group were in their early teens, and their leader slightly older. He is 19 years of age.

All the suspects were, at time of their arrests, residents of Mosunmore Village near Kobape in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Stunned by the worrisome development, the Baale of the community was said to have alerted the police, sequel to the alarm raised by one of the suspected girl's mother.

True to the allegation, detectives attached to Owode-Egba Police Divisional Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Shehu Alao, swung into action and succeeded in smoking them out of their camp during initiation of another set of girls.

Speaking on the ugly incident, the state Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, disclosed to Crimepuzzle that on Monday, August 28, 2017, at about 6:30 pm, a woman raised alarm to the Baale of Mosunmore Village near Kobape, here in Abeokuta, to the effect that her daughter went out late a day previous.

"Apparently disturbed by the said outing, the woman pestered her daughter who later confessed that she was initiated into a cult group, a development the woman found difficult to conceal to herself and alerted the community head who, in turn called in my men.

"Consequently, officers of Owode-Egba Division stormed the area and successfully apprehended the 13 youngsters in the process of initiating yet another set of underaged girls", CP Iliyasu said.

The girls, all primary six school leavers, confessed to being lured into the group by the boys.

Leader of the group known as "Penalty Guys", 19-year-old Tunde Adio, narrated to Crimepuzzle how he was initiated by one Tosin, also a resident of the community in January, 2017, adding that they came about their own group's name during the last Easter celebration when his third-in-command, 13-year-old Adewale Raphael's church was organizing a picnic.

According to Adio, "we decided to do customized vests, with the the inscription "Penalty Guys". This was what attracted the girls and agreed to be initiated".

Adio's second-in-command, Silas Sunday, 15, was also arrested during the police raid.

Meanwhile, CP Iliyasu has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
