PoliticsRe: War Against Money Laundering: Banks, PDP Kick Against Cbn’s Policy by Arogunmasa(m): 11:04am On Aug 03, 2015
All these na cheaP propaganda. Did you read that part that says legitemate businesses can access the Forex market?

The reforms have started bro, let's make it happen. Cheers!

arm4u:
PDP is very right.
Only kids and those who wait for monthly handouts will jubilate over the madness of Buhari and his CBN.

They are choking life out of international business.

Let me educate you folks.

We have a service which we procure from overseas,
we have a client in Nigeria who needs the service;

We pay our vendor in Dollars, so our client has to pays us in Dollars.

The business is transacted in dollars, We am not thieves.
We have nothing to do with oil let alone oil money.
We are not laundering any money for any body.

The policy has barred our client from paying using dollars.
Yet, Ir must pay my vendor in dollars.
Those of you who are haling it should explain to us how we can continue our business.

This archaic and myopic policy will simply snuff life out of my genuine efforts.

It is like banning cars because armed robbers use it to operate.

You can force Naira to improve in value, but you cannot force the economy to grow,

Well, am I surprised?
Didnt Buhari jail Fela for coming into Nigeria with Dollars he earned from handwork.

Do I blame Buhari?
Has he ventured into any business?
What does he know about money?
Did he not despise the business men when he visited the US?
Like somebody said, we have a celebrated illiterate as President.

Al I can say is, shame.

PoliticsRe: We Regret Voting Buhari – South West Leaders Lament - The Trent by Arogunmasa(m): 12:26pm On Jun 29, 2015
carzola:
A handful of South-West leaders are currently full of regrets for voting President Muhammadu Buhari during the Saturday, March 28, 2015 presidential election.

The aggrieved leaders are unhappy with Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for
tolerating the outcome of National Assembly leadership election, which did not favour the region.

According to them, Buhari’s silence is a serious indication that the zone will not benefit from the administration despite the efforts they made during the elections.

One of the leaders said, “For the fact that the South-West played a key role in the emergence of Buhari as the President, it is expected that they would occupy a more strategic position than the post of vice president.”

They argued that the National Assembly leadership election, which eventually placed the North Central geopolitical zone as a powerful force in the country’s power equation through the emergence of former Kwara governor, Bukola Saraki, as Senate President and Yakubu Dogara from the North-East, has depicted the South-West as not only a weak power bloc in
the equation.

With the power structure now, the South-West as a region has been relegated to the background in the power structure of the country.

Some of the leaders of the region who also participated in the last National Conference argued that since the South-West does not hold any substantial position in the current power structure, the region must re-strategise to assert itself in the politics of the nation.

The group opined that the position of Vice President, which is presently held by a south westerner, does not place the region as a powerful force.

While referring to one of the speeches made by former President Goodluck Jonathan during the campaigns leading up to the 2015 general elections, National Coordinator of Coalition of Democrats for Electoral Reform, CODER, Chief Ayo Opadokun, a South-West leader, who spoke to the Nigerian Pilot on Sunday, June 28, 2015 on the current power imbalance, noted that the Yoruba race made a great mistake by not re-electing the former President, considering what he had in stock for the zone.

Opadokun further noted that the implementation of the National Conference report would elevate the standard of the zone, which is the reason people of the South-West should have queued behind the immediate past president.

Atiku Abubakar will never become the president of this country. The man is so obsessive about Aso Rock without any patriotic underpin. What is his motive? @ least we understand where PMB was coming from not this guy. I think Saraki is towing that line, men who sees political power as a form of gratification. They can sell their souls to the devil to achieve their aims and the devil doesn't give without taking something back. Saraki will pay for his treachery. My view though.

Fú Hǔ Bù 伏虎步

Fu Hu Bu is translated as “tame the tiger stance.” Other names include “drop stance” or Pu Bu, “flat stance.” According to changquan master Yang Jwing-Ming, the stance was named after a martial artist named Wu Song, who slew a leaping tiger with the stance during the Song Dynasty. In this position, the martial artist squats on one leg until the thigh is parallel to the ground and extends the other leg out to the side. Both feet are parallel and pointing forward, relative to the torso, and like Zuo Pan Bu, the practitioner faces the opponent with his/her side.

Versatile in application, Fu Hu Bu can be employed for both attack and defense. A primary application of this stance is defense against high or jumping kicks, as evidenced in the Taiji technique “Strike the Tiger.” Baguazhang and Taiji forms also use the stance for low hand attacks, such as “Snake Creeps Down” from the Yang-style taijiquan sequence.

With Northern Praying Mantis, Fu Hu Bu is applied in Ba Bu Gan Chan, a leaping attack to the opponent’s ankle with the foot. In traditional changquan forms, such as Yi Lu Mai Fu, the stance is used to pick up objects from ground for use as projectiles during combat.
As with Ma Bu, different styles assume Fu Hu Bu in differing ways.

http://www.punchng.com/news/reps-expand-host-community-to-entire-nigeria

There were tense moments at the House of Representatives on Thursday as members approved a clause in the Petroleum Industry Bill to include the entire country as ‘host community’ of petroleum resources.
By approving the clause, the House said all “upstream and downstream ” communities in the country would now benefit from the‎ “Petroleum Host Community Fund”, proposed in the PIB.
In the original version of the bill from the Executive, the PHCF was proposed to assist cushion the effects of oil exploration activities on oil producing communities.
Oil companies, according to the bill, are to contribute 10 per cent of their net profit to the Fund.
However, the House AdHoc Committee on the PIB amended the beneficiaries of the PHCF to include all parts of the country rather than restricting it to oil communities alone.
Chairman of the committee, Mr. Ishaka Bawa, while throwing light on the recommendation, told members that communities with refineries or have oil pipelines traversing them, were automatically “host communities.”
He added, “It means that even states, where there are refineries or there are pipelines are host communities.
“It is beyond oil producing communities. “
Bawa stated further that the only exceptions were states like Sokoto and Kebbi.
Although, the House passed the recommendation, it was not without some protests.
Some Niger Delta lawmakers, led by Mr. Leo Ogor, sought to retain the original proposal.
Ogor argued that the recommendation of the committee might face challenges of implementation because of what he called “many technicalities that will hinder progress.”
He insisted that the House should restore the original provision, but his position was defeated ‎by the majority of members, who backed the community’s recommendation.
The House also reduced the 10 per cent contribution to the PHCF to 7.5 per cent.
But, oil companies are still required to carry out corporate social responsibilities in host communities to make up for the reduced financial contribution.
Lawmakers began considering the report on the controversial bill on Wednesday.
The 368-page report has 312 sections and 348 clauses.
By Thursday, members had passed 116 clauses at the Committee ‎of the Whole, which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha.
The House later adjourned further consideration of the bill till Tuesday next week.
B4 I comment where can I get a copy of the PIB. Don't really know much about it. Thanks
PoliticsRe: Pls There Should Be An Avenue For Appeal Against Any Ban by Arogunmasa(m): 12:31pm On May 10, 2015
Me think this run against the rule of natural justice. There is no fair hearing in this process, who determines who fell foul of the rules. Even if its a kangaroo panel the accuse must be made to face one, he should be given the chance to defend his actions.

It runs contrary to the spirit of fair hearing in our constitution to deny such right. I think giving the moderators absolute power to impose a ban is despotic.

Haba,

In this instance; the least he could have done was to have atleast alight from the car, assist in administering first aid to victims with minor injuries, while making provision for those with emergency cases to be swiftly moved to the nearest hospital, using his official cars!

There could have been a higher probability that one of the victims who had lost their lives out there, had voted for him.

He acted in manner not befitting for a public official his status, that's completely insensitive, cruel, and lacking empathy.
